My thoughts on Mermaze Mermaidz
Note: I got the main 5 dolls for about $16, and they are well worth that price. They originally cost $32 each, but I think they are worth closer to $20-25 (in terms of what I'm willing to pay for this). Winter Waves was understandably more expensive (about $40) but I still think it was a bit too high even if just by 5 bucks.
Here are my thoughts about the line in general:
Main complaints:
I don't like that for some dolls it has to be ice cold water to change rather than warm water, which is better to play in.
The price is just too much for an average consumer.
I'd prefer less packaging to save space and money. Also, makes it easier to open the boxes. The diagonal poses in the box leave so much empty space with nothing in it. All tags tying the dolls to the box are overkill.
The heads don't tilt up and down, nor can they sit up at a 90-degree angle from their hip articulation.
Positive Features:
The glass eyes and rooted eyelashes have great detail. Overall the face makeup and molds are lovely to look at.
Each doll comes with instructions for washing the hair, which I appreciate as someone who always washes the doll hair so it looks better than it does from the box
The individual tail details are so cute and creative. In the youtibe webisodes, there are even more characters with amazing design. It really tops other attempts at fashion focused mermaid dolls.
The characters have pretty well developed personalities for a kids doll line and I recommend watching the show to learn more about them.
The stands that Winter Waves dolls come with are great and sturdy, even for the heavy snow globe tails. Extra holders with different sizes to change out depending on clothing thickness is such a thoughtful detail
The Winter Waves also improved with the amount of accessories. All makeup pieces were interactive, and I love that.
In conclusion: price, packaging, and play features need some work. As they are now I see them more as meant fir display with all their fashions. The details on them almost make the color change gimmick unnecessary, but it's still a fun idea.
I love seeing all of them on display, and the details in their fashion make my heart happy. I hope MGA Entertainment rebrands this line of dolls because I really want to see new characters and improvements. It would be sad to see the doll line cancel so soon.
You can find my reviews for each character under the 'mermaze review' tag.

Eu só queria socar e rasgar algo, quebrar pratos e gritar até explodir, de tanta raiva que eu tô sentindo, por não aguentar mais essa vida de MERDA que estou vivendo.
