I gotta ask about Lucifer Magne's Practical Guide to Good Manners

Ehehe, this is the oldest WIP of the bunch and I'm not 100% sure if I will ever actually finish it, BUT. Heads up, I don't get explicit here but it's a PWP WIP.

It's basically a radioapple PWP, and I ran into issues when I realized that while I liked the idea, I had no fucking clue how to write it in a way that would involve a level of consent given that Lucifer was comfortable with, especially given the premise.

But if I do figure it out, the particular thing I was interested in exploring in it was the idea that an angelic presence just makes people feel good, in a way that Lucifer maybe doesn't have 100% control over. He ends up accidentally projecting his own praise kink directly into Alastor's brain via sheer angelic benevolence, thinking he's being so nice and helpful by doing all the things he likes just so that Alastor can have a good time despite their animosity, and meanwhile Alastor is, like, eyes-crossing 'what the actual fuck is happening what the fuck' the whole time and can't really do jack because, y'know. Lucifer is the devil. From the bible. Who is currently forcing him to say 'please and thank you' just so he can call him a good boy for it.

It's just fun for me to think of Lucifer as usually a guy who prefers to play submissive in any D/s games until Alastor comes along and turns their every interaction into that much of a pissing contest - but he's still projecting a lot of his own feelings onto the situation and what he thinks Alastor must enjoy, while in reality they're on completely different pages as to what is enjoyable about submission.

(Luckily, I also write 'being forced into certain types of uncomfortable situations' as a big chunk of what Alastor gets out of it, so they both have a fucked up but still good time. Probably the only way to actually put the fear of the devil into Alastor, though, to be honest. Meanwhile Lucifer is whistling the next morning, thinking he got a good grade in Dom, something that is normal to want and possible to achieve.)

She busied herself with smoothing down her hair as waited for the feel of a weight dropping into her palm but instead let out a squeak as fingers closed around her wrist and yanked her forward. Her free arm shot out to catch against the wall and Ichigo found her face suddenly very close to Kisshu’s. She was posed awkwardly, one wrist still held hostage and half-leaning, half-falling over him, forearm propped along the wall next to his head. At her expression the corner of Kisshu’s mouth quirked and Ichigo felt her pulse spike.

Too close, too close, mayday, mayday.

On instinct she shuffled forwards to fix her awkward position and lean back only to find it just nestled her more squarely between Kisshu’s legs. Ichigo threw her best glare at him (as good as she could with her face surely on fire) and Kisshu just widened his smirk, crossing his legs behind her, trapping her in. He raised a brow and jingled the pendant in front of her, almost as if saying “don’t leave yet, you didn’t get this back.”

Aaand, what are your 5 favorite Kishigo stories?

I don’t remember the first one I ever read, but the one that totally converted me over to being a full-fledged Kishigo shipper back in the day was Healing by cruelfeline. It’s a classic in the fandom and would be my first on the list just because it’s one that a lot of people who are older in the fandom come back to time and time again.

One that I liked but can’t find / was deleted — there was a fic called “LIGHT IN THE DARK” that was essentially playing with the premise of “damn we’re stuck in a tunnel together and have to figure out how to survive until we can find our way out.” I just remember it being a really interesting premise though if I’m remembering correctly, the writing was pretty amateur. It was deleted a few years ago and I haven’t been able to find it.

For the remaining 4 fics I’d recommend if you’re looking for something related to Kishigo … am I allowed to say my own? 😅 Links to my work are in my tumblr profile if you’re interested. My “Fickle” series is still the most popular TMM fanfic series of all time on Ao3.

For the 4 OTHER than my own shameless self-promotion …

1) Curiosity Killed the Cat by my friend @apricotti is an excellent post-series slowburn. Just recently completed, and she has a sequel in the works.

2) The Last Mew Mew by @fairyringsandwings is a MUST-READ if you’re looking for a really dark, gritty oneshot with the pairing. It’s a “what if the bad guys won” canon divergence piece and it’s equally beautiful and creepy.

3) I Belong To You by sukistrawberry2468 is another “older but still good” pick for a chapter fic. The writing is not my favorite (it comes off as amateur/ambling in places) but my god, the ANGST. Some really, really creepy and excellent horror elements in this one, and also some really good worldbuilding around the aliens. However, it also uses the “Masaya is dead already in chapter 1” trope to get him out of the way of the pairing so if that’s not your cup of tea, you might not love this one.

4) Okay and lastly, hot off the press because it JUST came out, but I’d highly recommend Keep Away by my friend @moonshroooms if you want something lighter, fluffier, and that drops the pairing in the middle of a really fun post-series scene. It’s a oneshot but a long one, and PHEW the prose is just beautiful.

Crying at the implication that someone needs to be the same level of batshit insane as Alastor if he's to accept too much attention from them. No normies allowed. (And Vox is ABSOLUTELY as close to, if not just as, deranged as Alastor. He's just a different flavor. That's why it works so well!)

Alastor's enjoyment of Vox in 666 is through an extremely sadomasochistic lens, and he and Vox work well enough together because Vox pines obsessively and wants to give himself to Alastor in ways that anyone an iota more normal would consider to be really unhealthy, and also because Alastor allows Vox liberties under the assumption that Vox is beneath him in every way that matters. Lucifer would take one look at that shit and go, "This! This is the literal epitome of why hell is a horrible place and everyone in it is a horrible person! What the fuck!"

I've been thinking about your Lucifer/Angel fics (re: fantasizing, general daydreaming, and finding myself NOT doing whatever task I was supposed to be doing) and I'm very curious: What, if anything, does Angel get out of their escapades (aside from boinking the Top Dog of hell). Like, Lucifer is very much attracted to Angel, and on top of that he's getting some top-tier emotional care from our favorite spider too. Platonic and community support even, what with the wing-grooming fic! (Dunno if that's all in 1 continuity or not but either way lol). So is there anything outside of the sex parts Angel is enjoying? :3

Ahahaha, glad they've been living on amidst the plethora of radiostatic! >:D I've had another Lucifer-centric fic percolating recently, actually, though it's a gen fic.

HAVE A LIST. Not all of these are "outside of the sex parts" and some of them are, like, smeared across both. All of my Lucifer fics, fwiw, are not actively intended to be written in the same universe/continuity, but folks are free to headcanon them as such if they feel like they fit! HOWEVER:

I write Angel Dust as someone who does in fact just enjoy sex, including sex with a variety of people, and Lucifer is objectively pretty fucking cute.

And also into some kinks that Angel might not get to explore elsewhere, especially since the professional Angel Dust persona is a more submissive one.

Lucifer is also Lucifer. Angel Dust is not immune to the stardom factor!

Lucifer is very eager-to-please and for all that he's largely the one getting taken care of in the NSFW fic, it's still an incredibly endearing attitude for Angel "my job that I'm not allowed to quit is to please everyone at my own expense" Dust to be faced with!

Seeing that someone as powerful as the king of hell can be as much of a self-destructive, anxious disaster as the lowliest of sinners is relatable and also vaguely reassuring! (Husk, on the other hand, finds this kind of horrifying, lol. C'mon, man, what happened to "we're all losers"?)

A lot of it isn't very deep, but I also am not writing any of my appledust as a set-up to a particularly deep relationship. I think they work well as genuine friends-with-benefits!

Thinking about ch 2 in the Electrifying 666, when Angel was snickering over Lucifer and Alastor's bickering. Right up until Lucifer goes to shove Al and Alastor freaks the hell out, and then suddenly Angel is doing some VERY controlled quiet breathing. Something something, Angel is probably intimately familiar with being around powerful overlords right on the edge of snapping and the last thing anyone wants to do in THAT environment is make their presence known in literally any capacity

HAHAHA, YEP. Man, it fucking delights me when small details like that get noticed! That is absolutely what I intended with that!

With a character like Valentino, I get the impression that things can really turn on a dime, and Angel is used to adapting very quickly to the risk of violence. Alastor using him as a prop when he flees from Lucifer is mostly meant to be a 'fuck you' to Lucifer to showcase that Alastor isn't afraid of being touched, no sirree, he just dislikes Lucifer in particular, and he's certainly not thought through the implications of Angel's freeze response, but he's also not not making a show of being friendly with Angel.

Anyways, omgggg the changes you made were SO cute. Hell yeah snuggle time! I can't even tell if Vox would be a nice person to snuggle with. On the one side, big ass flat screen tv head. On the other, body-sized electric warmer. Also, I love Alastor saying yes to a hug, even despite that bigass exasperation sigh. The hug might've been a little bit more for himself than he realized, considering he didn't go 'well this kinda sucks but at least vox is being pathetic about it.' Nah nah, automatically likens it to someone HE usually does the supporting for, and figures this is what they feel like, I love it so much

I debated about that to myself for so long, haaa - sorry that you missed it at first!! Honestly, my plan is also to mention it in an AN in the next 666 fic at this point! I feel kinda bad functionally sending out a mass email by posting a chapter and then deleting it! That way people who sub to the series and such will still get notified, even if it's later. I do wish we had an update option other than "post chapter and then delete chapter" or something. Would also be helpful for folks who do full rewrites and other such things!

Anyway, aw, I'm really glad you enjoyed it! I'm a "Vox is a bag of sharp corners and elbows" truther, LOL, but Alastor is NO better at all and in fact frequently uses his sharp corners (antlers) to be annoying on purpose, so, y'know. Karma or whatever.

The hug was definitely needed for him. Sorry, Alastor, you're still a human being with stress responses and socialization instincts underneath all the cannibalism and dark magics, and your thoughts and actions are telling on you. Get cared for, idiot.

Meanwhile, I somehow wrote 18 instead of 11 despite answering 18 immediately after, so [honks clown nose] we're both in the clown car, hahaha. Here's 6!

6. How do you come up with ideas?

A lot of it is just "stuff I'd like to see happen" that I didn't get out of the show/book/etc itself! For Hazbin Hotel specifically, the smaller number of episodes in season 1 really did not leave a lot of room for characters to have their metaphorical beach episode and get to know each other - or even, in many cases, explore the character arcs that had been set up in the beginning of the show. So I've ended up writing a lot of "How would THESE characters interact, +/- being put into Situations" or "What about THIS thing that canon didn't really address?" types of things.

Beyond that, I also sometimes end up reading or talking about fun character analysis in a way that makes me go, "Ugh, okay, this has grown beyond that I can communicate in a text post. Time to write a fic so I can point at it and just go, 'This! It's like this!!'" That's why some of the stuff I talk about in asks semi-regularly makes it into my writing, hahaha. I just get to thinking about it and realize I can write it.

Hurt/Comfort, by far. 42 out of my 102 published works are tagged with it, hahaha. I actually am surprised it's under 50%, even! I think that's the zine fic bias bringing it down. There was a while when it was "Canon-Typical Violence," lol, but that's still only at 19 works as the second most popular tag.

28. Have you ever made friends with people through your writing?

Heck yeah! I think that's how I've made most of my fandom friends. Somestimes it's me reaching out to someone who I think I'd vibe with based on shared fandom interests or enjoying their writing, sometimes it's the other way around!

671,782 / 102 = 6,586!

But that's not counting all the 2-3k word oneshots I've written for zines that are still sitting in my drive, haha.

So after rereading one of your PT Dib drabbles, I got to thinking 👀 Zim mentions his admirer circle being nice to have cuz he got to top for once. Does that mean before becoming an elite himself, Zim might've been an admirer for some other elites?

I mean I guess he could (altho Zim...admiring someone? Before Dib showed up? That’s novel concept), but I was more going for my headcanon on irken sexuality and how it’s basically another way for the different height based castes to interact. The short gist of it is: in Irken culture, consent before sex isn’t really a...thing. Instead, it goes by how tall you are: if you wanna have “fun” for a while u gotta pick an Irken low enough on the pecking order (as in, much shorter than you) and you can just do whatever basically without so much as asking the other Irken anything; as long as you don’t interfere with the Irken’s other responsibilities and anger their superiors you’re free to have your way with them. If you happen to fancy someone taller than you, you can make yourself known to them that you’re available, but at the end of the day the taller one always calls the shots (and almost always gets to top). 

So going by this social rule, before becoming an elite Zim never really got to top because there weren’t too many irken smaller than him, and none small enough that he could rightfully take for himself for an afternoon. Most tall irken won’t have sex with a smaller one just because the small asks, and ESPECIALLY won’t let themselves be topped by a short irken (it’s not really forbidden to do so, but kind of very looked down upon). Only exception to this rule is if you happen to have a high enough rank, like an Elite Soldier, but those are also mostly populated by just the tallest irkens as well so they don’t have the problem of never really getting to chose the partner they want or the position they want during sex. For the longest of times before becoming elite Zim had to basically do whatever the taller irkens wanted, never getting to pick a partner and never really topping, until he started training as an Elite and (unexpectedly) beginning to amass a very small but dedicated following.
