top 5 fave grass pokemon

it's so hard for me to do straight up rankings but here's 5 that i absolutely love

roselia has such a nice design, it's so serene yet it has some sharp points to it, just like an actual rose. it reminds me a lot of a clown tbh, and i love that it's barely bigger than your head

vileplume. does any other pokemon have a name that rolls off your tongue so well? say it out loud, it's satisfying.a mainstay of any of my kanto playthroughs, It's got that more subtle creepiness a lot of gen I pokemon have, look at that smile peering at you from under that parasitic flower. imagine that under a real rafflesia

I was just talking about breloom with a friend the other day. what a weird but fun direction to take a mushroom pokemon. I like it's beaky mouth, and the fact that it actually fights at a distance by stretching its arms out. not to mention that anime episode where the gang ran into one that was REALLY PISSED

This one I like just for the weird factor. The fact that kartana is as tiny as roserade yet has a bigger attack stat than deoxys attack is just inherently funny. using paper instead of a living plant to represent the grass type is also a novel way to approach the type. plus, the dev notes on kartana are fun too

This should come as no surprise to anyone who follows me, but maractus is one of my favorite pokemon ever, definitely the pokemon on this list that deserves more attention. it's such a cute little cactus as a nice contrast to the meaner cactus pokemon we have, and i love that it has flowers just like actual cactuses do while fashioning some of the thorns into claws on its hand. plus, the way it has to hop to get around is adorable.

i just wish it wasn't so hopelessly underpowered. definitely a primo candidate for a regional variant/regional evolution. we got a spanish region coming up, how about a prickly pear maractus that dances flamenco?

top 5 most favrouite pokemon that arent usually liked by others

i have NEVER understood the hate for vanillite and co. what is so bad about "an ice cream pokemon". It's cute! it's got a wonderful little smile with a fun, compact design. one of the only ice types you can get reasonably early too

i love this thing, the metal shavings attracted magnetically to make a mustache is clever, and it's a more historically accurate moai head than we usually see. Nosepass was so hated back in the gen 3 days so it made me happy that it got some love with Probopass here

people dislike yungoos’s design for external reasons that i can’t blame them for, but ever since the alola event in pokemon GO i’ve had a soft spot for the little guys. I like the weasel-y look to it and the comically large mouth. shame they’re not very interesting to use in-game

poor maractus. so unfairly hated. this adorable cactus-bunny was the punching bag of every pro-dexit numbskull back in 2018. but i love it dearly, and it’s not even half bad on a cartridge run. i hope it gets a regional variant or evo to spite the haters

another case where i can understand the hate, but I really just like panpour (and simipour) as happy little blue monkeys. I think shooting water from the tail is more clever than out of the mouth again, and it’s the shockingly rare pokemon that’s a water type that doesn’t live in water. most water types are just creatures that live in or around water, and that’s fine, but it’s so uncommon for game freak to do anything truly different with the type.
