I'm feeling a little disappointed honestly. Turns out, a monoice run of Pokemon Reborn is... easy? I still don't get why, since it's still easier than my other playthrough, but... yeah.
Aurora Veil is busted.
Then anything it can't hold off gets dealt with via Destiny Bond.
I hope that once Pulse2s start showing up, it will actually become challenging.
(oh, I have noitems on, of course, which I always forget because I always have noitems on.)

Legends and myths about trees
Trees in Buddhism (1)
Fig trees (Ficus) - Trees that bear fruit without flowering
“Enter the fig forest and seek the flowers, but get none. In the world of the three realms (Trailokya: Ref), you seek the unwavering and you do not get one. The practitioner who knows this, forsakes this and that together...like a snake shedding its old skin.” - Buddha
Above is an extract from a verse of the Buddha in the Sutta Nipata No.5.
A common feature of the fig genus (ficus) is the peculiar inflorescence. They appears as if it suddenly bears fruit without flowering. They are hermaphrodites or dioecious, collectively known as fig trees or figs. These belonging to the family Moraceae have about 850 species and are native throughout the tropics, with a few species also found in semi-temperate zones.
Hermaphrodites are generally those that have male and female reproductive organs in one individual. Those that do not are referred to as gonochoric. In the case of plants, they are referred to as monoicous and dioicous, respectively.
The fig fruit develops as a hollow, fleshy structure called the syconium that is lined internally with numerous unisexual flowers. The tiny flowers bloom inside this cup-like structure. The small fig flowers and later small single-seeded (true) fruits line its interior surface. At maturity, these 'seeds' (actually single-seeded fruits) line the inside of each fig.
The fruit of most species are also edible though they are usually of only local economic importance or eaten as bushfood. However, they are extremely important food resources for wildlife. Figs are also of considerable cultural importance throughout the tropics, both as objects of worship and for their many practical uses.
The Bodhi tree is well known for Siddhartha Gautama (Ref2) sat under the tree, meditated and finally attained enlightenment becoming the Buddha, also known as "sacred fig tree", belongs to this fig family.

As I’ve resume my Monoice run of Reborn after finishing Rejuvenation for the first time I’ve noticed a striking difference in the pacing between to two games.
I understand Amethyst wants to leave the timeline of Reborn up to headcanon and interpretation and I think it’s great, I love when creators give fans freedom like that. However, the consequence of that is feeling like the Reborn MC NEVER gets a damn break. Like, Rejuvenation has points where it’s like ‘x amount of time has passed’.
Like, the Rejuvenation MC gets a damn break, they get a chance to work through their trauma somewhat. It feels like the Reborn MC doesn’t get that (like, the Darkri quest very clearly confirmed the Reborn MC is traumatized as FUCK). Like, after everything in Beryl it doesn’t feel like they get a chance for a true break until they return to Reborn City when it’s restored, and like that doesn’t last long probably. Even after the main game and defeating Meteor they still have to deal with the Anomalies rip.
The Reborn MC isn’t a terrifying because they are a strong powerhouse with a super powerful team. It’s because they’re exhausted and just wants some Arceus forsaken sleep.

There has been recent buzz surrounding the discovery of a rare pink bison in a remote area of Northern California. While the unique coloring of the bison has captured the attention of many, there is still uncertainty about why this particular bison is exhibiting monoicous characteristics, meaning it has both male and female sex organs.
Monociousness, or hermaphroditism, is a relatively uncommon occurrence in mammals. Most mammals, including bison, have distinct male and female sexes and can only reproduce with a partner of the opposite sex. However, there are some species, such as snails and slugs, that are known to be monoicous.
So why is this pink bison exhibiting monoicous characteristics? Experts are still uncertain, but there are a few theories that may explain this unique occurrence.
One theory suggests that the pink bison may have a genetic mutation that caused it to develop both male and female reproductive organs. This is not unheard of in the animal kingdom, as mutations in genes responsible for sexual development can lead to monoicous characteristics.
Another possibility is that the pink bison is a chimera, meaning it is made up of cells from two different zygotes. This can occur when two fertilized eggs fuse together in the early stages of development. If one of the cells had the genetic makeup for male reproductive organs and the other had the genetic makeup for female reproductive organs, this could explain why the bison is monoicous.
The environment could also play a role in the bison's monoicous characteristics. It is possible that the pink bison was exposed to certain environmental factors, such as hormones or chemicals, that caused it to develop both male and female reproductive organs.
While these theories provide some insight into why the pink bison is monoicous, the exact reason may never be fully understood. What is certain, however, is that this unique and rare occurrence has captured the attention and curiosity of people worldwide.
Some may wonder if the pink bison's monoicous characteristics have any implications for its reproductive capabilities. According to experts, this bison should still be able to successfully reproduce, as it has both male and female reproductive organs.
The discovery of this pink bison serves as a reminder of the incredible diversity and mysteries of the natural world. It also highlights the importance of continued research and understanding of rare and unique occurrences such as this.

Lycoris Radiata: A personal Appreciation
There is a flower that every fan of anime knows about and is the lycoris Radiata, or by her Common Name: corpse flower, red spider.
Tumblr media
Botanically speaking, this flower is part of the clade of the angiosperms and in the order of the Asparagales and is originally from Asia. Specifically, from China, Japan, Korea and Nepal, but it can be seen even in Seychelles. The problem is that, in Japan, it only can be founded female versions of this plans in natural environment, which it means that they only can reproduce by asexual reproduction via bulb division thanks to the absent of masculine plants (the inconvenience to be a monoic plant…)
Tumblr media
This plant is a bulbous perennial, and, like the dandelion and the sunflower, it isn’t 1 flower, but a lot of flowers in a structure called inflorescence. Specifically, the name of the type of inflorescence is “umbel”. The androecium are those filaments that stand out in the inflorescence. Each “real flower” has 6 petaloid tepals (it means that the structure that appears to be a petal is in fact, a mix between a petal and a sepal). That number of tepals says that this plant is, in fact, a monocotyledonous.
Tumblr media
The bulbs in general, like onions, are eatables. However, the bulbs of this plant are toxic and cannot be eaten. In fact, it´s Fruit isn’t eatable either, being a simple dry Capsule. Its grows better in low profundity, not dry spaces and cold places.
It is possible to found white versions of this plant, but the one that we will talk about is the red one, the most used variety. It blooms in the start of the fall and in the Japanese culture, they grow in hell and guides the death to their next reincarnation. These flowers are also used in funerals, so it has a strong link to the death for various Asian cultures. Their toxicity doesn´t helps to that inflorescence to get away to that reputation. It also can contain trichomes that may generate itching if you touch it, so it’s a very beautiful and full of defences plant (If it were originally from USA, I’m sure that they could relation this plant to the “femme fatale” archetype…)
Tumblr media
Also, their toxicity helps as a natural repellent of herbivores of any type, like mices, earthworms, etc, that’s why it is very good to plant these flowers around rice plantation to avoid losing the rice plantation. It also helps to repel carnivores to protect the bodies who passed away and that could be buried in the superficial layer of the earth.
This knowledge and culture around this plant could say a lot about how a culture can influence a lot of animes.
///ATTENTION: THE FOLLOWING PART OF THIS EESAY WILL HAVE SPOILERS. CONTINUE BY YOUR OWN RISK//
Higanbana (the common name in Japan) appears in a lot of animes that has correlation with the death, the danger and/or the spiritual world.
Tumblr media
In Tokyo ghoul, the white carnation flower, that symbolise innocence, when is stained by blood, it transformed to our favourite flower, as a metaphor, again, of the death of their former self.
Tumblr media
This flower also can be interpretated as a lover´s separation symbol, thanks to how this flower blooms. Biologically and evolutionarily, their tepals doesn’t touch when a flower blooms. And their leaf and their tepals of all the inflorescence never touches. This interpretation can be seen in Madoka magika in the head of a witch that is unable to reunite with their beloved one.
Tumblr media
We said before that it exists a white variant of this flower. That also has an interpretation, as an antithesis of the red one, being a heaven flower and one that purified the karma of a person. In some animes with day temples scenes, it can appear.
In conclusion, its very cool to see that a simple flower that grows with self-defences and need specifically needs could be so important to a culture to use it in their art and how that influence can be seen in our very favourites animes, like Kimetsu no Yaiba, Madoka Magika, Tokyo Ghoul, Inuyasha, and others.

Warning this probably will have vague rejuv spoilers since andri is an interceptor oc o7
🔥 FIRE - do they have any self destructive tendencies? what habits do they have that hinder them from becoming their best self?
Initially not really but after around chapter 5~ their trust issues get so crazy that they have trouble getting along or getting close with anyone. Him and Erin clash for AGES bc they both are so not trusting and crazy. Also he tends to be incredibly stubborn which doesn’t help.
💡 LIGHTBULB - is your oc a planner? do they write down every small detail or just wing it?
Definitely winging it 100%. They use a monoice Team like clearly they dont care for things being effective
🍁 MAPLE LEAF - what is their favourite season? why?
WINTER bc there is Snow :). He loves the Beauty of the cold and he melts whenever it gets too hot

I’ve been chipping away at a monoice challenge of Pokemon Reborn and what I don’t understand is how it's somehow easier than other playthroughs I've done. Is it the lack of options? Was I making worse teams due to choice paralysis? Charlotte was a pushover! The fire gym leader!
The hardest fight so far (Eugene) was made so easy due to accuracy fuckery, and now I think I have an answer for any fight going forward.
Hail setup, followed by Snow Cloak Mamoswine holding Lax Incense, Double Team to win.
I think I like Mamoswine more than Mega Blaziken, now...
Nothing will beat the unstoppable power of Eevee and Krookodile, of course, but for any fight before the Mega Z Ring, monoice has seen little challenge, either.

In CQL, Wei Wuxian enjoys eating the loquat.  There are many fruits, but why the loquat?  We’ll be explaining the cultural significance of the loquat in this video.
Let’s talk about the cultural significance of the loquat.  The loquat trees are Monoicous plants, and their fruit are frequently in pairs.  They often represent a married couple living harmoniously in a peaceful and happy family.  Loquats are the only fruit that grow throughout the year.  It buds in autumn, blooms in winter, bear seeds in spring, and ripen in summer.  Hence, they are known as the “King of Fruits”.
The loquat holds a special significance in ancient times.  In the Tang-Song Dynasty, the loquat symbolises wealth, prosperity and beauty.  Loquats were frequently gifted to symbolise a peaceful, healthy and happy family.
Loquats were also featured in ancient poems.  Poets such as Du Fu, Xin Qiji, and Yang Wanli have written poems about loquats. The Ming Dynasty writer Gui Youguang has written “Xiang Ji Xuan Zhi” (fyi Chinese students learned this poem in high school) - There is a loquat tree in the yard, my wife planted it in the year that she died. It is now growing well with luscious leaves.  Upon seeing the loquat tree that his wife planted in the year that she passed on, the author describes how much he misses his wife.

Day 2 - crystal no I am not a week late idk what your talking about
Tumblr media
Anyway I drew my starter and one of my aces of my monoice run, who’s name is Crystal. Also known as “Fern’s worst nightmare” because she practically swept all his team all on her own until he got his Scizor. On Route 1 she survived an iron tail on 1 hp and proceeded to kill Fern’s team with blizzard. She feral, she’s violent, and you’re next.
Also I went wild with one brush on this one lmao.

Asterella tenella and Reboulia hemisphaerica are often mistaken for one or the other.
Here is Reboulia hemisphaerica, with dark purple margins around it’s thallus, this species is also known for a purple tinged abaxial surface. Spring is the ideal time to see this species vs the wet karst choss and sandy choss pocket species usually found in fairly small holes in rocks, Asterella tenella. This species, while small is a bit larger than the ladder and is often much more exposed on karst surfaces with moss, if the exposure becomes problematic, it can dry up while maintaining cellular rigidity, enveloping its sides and partially invaginating into a purple tube. This species is monoicous, (one house for both reproductive organs/ mono=1 ecium=home).  The archegonial receptacle, is raised while antheridia are a series/cluster of purple conical/tube like structures around the base of the archegonial receptacle. There are no splash/gemma cups on this species making it easy to differentiate from common polymorphic liverwort and the glandular sweet/great scented( *coughs*) liverwort also found in karst habitats. One other mention that is similar to this species is Preissia quadrata, obligate calciphile, this species has both archegonia and antheridia elevated on a stype/phore; pores are visible with handlense, macrocamera, or good vision.

I decided to make this a post since it’s so long, @wulfhoney
Your first point is a hypothetical quote from an unnamed third party. Now I understand this quote, Ive seen it and heard it. “Pan means attracted to someone regardless of gender, while bi doesn’t see regardless.”
Your response is, “This gives the false impression that bi sexualizes and does not include everyone. When in reality, often bi people will like people regardless of gender. Pansexuality simply by existing and by being accepted makes others think that bisexual is sexual and pan is not. This is not correct.”
I understand how some can draw a correlation between the two but I don’t see how pan people should be punished for the misunderstandings of others. Me simply existing does not make your relationships any less meaningful.
Your second point, again from an unnamed third party, “but bi means 2 and pan means all.”
Your response, “bisexual has always included every gender. It’s been there since the manifesto and is still is. In fact, bi and pan are nutritiously known and are by fact, synonyms, and they mean the same thing.”
If you actually look, at the physical definition of the prefix bi, it means, 2. Like bi-cycle, bi-pedal. In every sense bi, means two. Bisexual, in the sense of sexuality, was originally coined by Charles Gilbert Chaddock in 1892, as a way of being attracted to males and females. However, since then, it has morphed into including more than 2 binary genders, as we as a society grew. My point being, bisexual didn’t *always* include everyone. But people and our definitions of words shift over time. The Oxford definition of pan is “all”, however we do not use exact definitions for sexualities because they are too fluid and are a spectrum. Additionally if pan and bi mean the same thing, which they don’t if you go strictly by definitions, why do you have such a problem with being pan?
However you say why one should pick bi over pan, since they mean the same thing. You mention that there’s a lot of reasons, and list two. Let’s start with the first, “bisexual is already misunderstood and hated, even if you don’t see it, it happens often and bi hate, even in the community, is very real.” Biphobia is a terrible thing that is running rampant in the community, and that is horrible, however, it stems from misconceptions about the bi identity, not because Pan exists. Pan people are not responsible for the hate bi people receive. If pan people disappeared bi people would still get hate, it’s horrible, but it’s true. And since there is so much overlap, pan people get subjected to the hate as well. We get the same comments I see a lot of bi people get, that we’re cheaters, stepping stone sexualities to gay or straight, that we’re just too scared to come out as gay, or we just wanna be “in on the trend” but also be able to be straight. It’s not bi people’s fault we get this shit, it’s not gay or straight people’s fault either. It’s the people who are saying these things that are causing problems, what sexuality they are does not effect what they’re saying.
Your second reason was the history behind the title Pansexual. Although I have not been able to find a source that states that pansexual originally means the attraction to objects, animals, and the dead, and I would be very interested in knowing where you read that. You, yourself, go on to acknowledge that the definition of pansexual as drastically changed over the years, but so has the term bisexual, which before being coined by Charles Gilbert Chaddock, meant a person with both sex characteristics, or a monoicous plant.
My point being, that the history of a title such as pansexual or bisexual has very little bearing on the modern definition or holders of such things. Like how gay used to mean happy and queer meant odd or unusual. Such definitions are outdated and rarely, if ever used.
You also note that, “pansexuality can also be transphobic, as a common argument is saying that pan includes nb and trans people while bi does not. This makes it seem like 1. Bi people don’t see trans people as their gender and 2. That nb is not accepted in bi, which all genders are.”
Again, a very real and serious problem, that was not caused by pan people. We are not at fault for the misunderstandings of others. Also none of this makes pansexual transphobic, the sentiment makes bi people seem transphobic, however, that is a misunderstanding also not caused by pan people. We existing did not cause the biphobic hate you receive, nor the comments that invalid trans and non binary people.
You assuming that the existence of pan people causes problems is panphobic, just as the people who assume that the existence of bi people cause problems are biphobic.
As people who’s sexualities overlap and link so much, we should be helping each other and standing up to panphobes and biphobes, instead of tearing each other down.
