Qu'est-ce que le momme de soie ?

Le Momme = Grammage de la soie

Pour toutes les matières, la qualité se mesure grâce au nombre de fils utilisés, mais, ce critère est insuffisant lorsqu’il s’agit de la soie. En effet, deux tissus en soie peuvent comporter le même nombre de fils sans détenir une qualité identique. Cela s’explique par le fait que les fils de soie varient en termes de diamètre et de longueur d’un cocon à l’autre. Le momme a donc été introduit par les japonais comme unité de mesure pour définir la densité et la qualité d’un tissu en soie. Le momme de soie représente le poids en gramme par mètre carré de tissu. Plus les mommes contenus dans un tissu en soie seront élevés, plus il sera de bonne qualité, durable, épais, et adapté à un usage intensif. Un momme équivaut à 4,340 grammes de soie par mètre carré.

4 à 8 mommes représentent 17,36 à 34,72 grammes par mètre carré. Avec ce grammage, on obtiendra un tissu fin et transparent.

10 à 14 mommes représentent 40,34 à 60,76 grammes par mètre carré, on obtiendra ici un tissu à épaisseur moyenne.

À partir de 16 mommes, soit 69,44 grammes par mètre carré, nous commencerons à obtenir un tissu assez épais pour fabriquer des taies d’oreiller en soie.

Le 19, le 22 et le 25 mommes sont considérés comme des tissus de très bonne qualité pour la confection de la literie.

Le 30 mommes de soie permet de produire les tissus les plus confortables et les plus résistants qui existent sur le marché.

Un tissu avec un nombre de mommes moins important ne veut pas dire qu’il n’est pas à 100% en soie, ou qu’il est mixé avec d’autres matériaux, mais simplement, que la longueur des fils ou leur diamètre est moins important.

Voici une illustration comparant un tissu 19 mommes à un tissu 30 mommes :

Gage de qualité, le prix du tissu augmentera avec l’augmentation du nombre de mommes, mais, c’est un investissement qui en vaut la peine car la soie n’en sera que plus douce et plus agréable au contact de la peau et du cheveux.

Quel nombre de mommes choisir pour de la literie en soie ?

La literie en soie doit être douce au toucher mais aussi solide et résister aux lavages et repassages réguliers. C’est pour cette raison que pour les draps plats, les draps housse et les housses de couettes, il faut opter pour un poids allant de 19 à 30 mommes.

De 19 à 22 mommes nous sommes déjà sur de la très bonne qualité, mais pour ceux qui sont à la recherche d’une literie vraiment luxueuse, solide, et durable, il faudra investir dans un poids de 25 à 30 mommes. Ces deux derniers grammages offrent des tissus qui résistent à l’épreuve du temps et qui peuvent rester intacts pendant des dizaines d’années.

En ce qui concerne les taies d’oreillers en soie, le 16 mommes serait adapté à un usage décoratif et peu intensif, sinon, tout comme pour la literie, il faudra opter pour des taies d'oreillers en soie allant de 19 à 30 mommes.

Gaze : 3 à 5 mommes

Organza : 4 à 6 mommes

Mousseline de soie - Chiffon : 6 à 8 mommes (de 12 à 16 mommes s’il est fabriqué en double épaisseur)

Habotai : 12 à 16 mommes

Crêpe : 12 à 16 mommes

Charmeuse (Satin de soie) : 12 à 30 mommes

Soie brute : 35 à 40 mommes (les soies plus lourdes paraissent plus 'laineuses')

Your lost boys post on costumes made me wonder would they even cut or dye their hair? Oh, what about tattoos? Piercings? I always assume whatever they do to themselves would be permanent cuz being dead would mean not being able to grow out their hair again. Though I guess with hair dye they wouldn't have to worry about touching up the roots. lol

It's interesting, because the movie goes out of its way to not say anything about how old the vampire characters are or what their pasts were like or who they were before they were Lost Boys, so like...it is not inconceivable that all four of them had those haircuts prior to undeath. (It is not inconceivable that they've all, like, been vampires for a year or less prior to the Emersons coming on the scene. This isn't the implication that I get, but it would be a very funny way to interpret the movie.)

If you assume that they've been undead for longer than about six months, though, which I feel like the movie wants you to do, then it makes sense to me that none of them would have gone full mullet if there wasn't an option to change that hairstyle without having to lose the luscious locks at some point in the future. So conceivably their hair could still grow?

On the other hand, though, absolutely nothing about the 'plan' with the Emersons makes any logical sense beyond 'it seemed like a good idea at the time' if you sit down and try to think it through for a few seconds, and somebody turned Laddie, so yeah. Maybe they really did just make a permanent decision that can't be reversed because they thought mullets looked cool and did not consider even for a second that they might not love mullets forever. How could this possibly go wrong.

This implies that part of the reason David's covered up chin to toe in black all the time is because he has a truly astounding array of deeply regrettable tattoos he's trying to hide. I'm adopting this headcanon forever now.
