Rokuhoudou 1 - 12 (REWATCH) | Fruits Basket 25 (FINAL) | Demon Slayer 25 - 26 (FINAL) | Mob Psycho 100 II OVA | Cop Craft 11 - 12 (FINAL) | Dr Stone 11 | Ahiru no Sora 1 | Shinchou Yuusha 1
New anime of the season, here we go!
Rokuhoudou 1 (REWATCH)
I’m doing a new project where I rewatch some of my favourites to test their integrity in that regard. Here’s the first show - Rokuhoudou. So what I remember about Rokuhoudou is that it’s very simple – the guys make food and help people, occasionally there’s cats – and that was enough to help me through a mental rough patch I was going through at the original time of airing.
Being sick and watching with a cinnamon roll really brings home the idea of Rokuhoudou as “comfort food for the eyes”…No, it’s not what you think. I’m eating a cinnamon roll.
I always assumed the title was translated to “Four-Coloured Daily Life at Rokuhoudou”, because that would be the best translation if the title was fully in kanji. It’s not though, so the hiragana-rendered parts could mean anything.
Rokuhoudou almost gives you this sensation of being spirited away by good food (and Good Boys).
Sui sometimes reminds me of Kunikida (BSD)…must be the glasses.
Gure’s such a tease, LOL.
Tokitaka’s so refined, yet also has the heart and patience to help old people, plant things and make pottery. I love him~!
“You don’t need to show appreciation with bodily functions!”
I only just noticed it…but Gure has a nice eye colour.
Oh…I just realised this since I now know Tokitaka grows the veg and herbs out back, but Tokitaka must’ve grown them.
Hmm…I was wondering why you’d need a spoon for chazuke, but then I realised it’s because of the soup…D’oh.
I wonder if Tokitaka also made the chopstick holders…
Update: The ikura reminds me of Hinamatsuri…
Rokuhoudou 2 (REWATCH)
(Sorry, I had a note, but I didn’t write it down fast enough so I don’t have any for this ep…)
Rokuhoudou 3 (REWATCH)
Tokitaka has a flower in his hair (during the pottery wheel scene)…cute~!
Rokuhoudou 4 (REWATCH)
“You need to chill out.” – More like “you need to calm down”, amirite??? (LOL)
Look at how badass my bois are!
Now that I’ve been seriously working on my customer service skills, I sort of get the ethic behind the Rokuhoudou workers in general.
Rokuhoudou 5 (REWATCH)
Oyaji ga Susumeru Café Iko! – “The Old Guy Recommends Cafes to Go To!”, literally speaking. However, it’s quite slang and seems to be hinting at the positive connotations of an oyaji (fondness, the sort you’d have for your dad), so I approve of the chosen translation “Daddy-o’s Café Go!”.
Oh yeah…this is the weird delusion from Isago, isn’t it? I still rmembr writing a blog post about it!
Why does Tokitaka look so evil in this one scene (where he’s helping Tsubaki), anyway?
Rokuhoudou 6 (REWATCH)
(no notes, sorry!)
Rokuhoudou 7 (REWATCH)
(no notes, sorry!)
Rokuhoudou 8 (REWATCH)
I love how Gure gets all fired up just to pedal a duck boat.
Is it just me, or does young!Gure look like he was designed by Rihito Takarai (creator of Ten Count)…?
I can’t believe this…my stomach grumbled in the middle of an espresso episode…
“Who else could it be for?” – The dog?...I’m kidding, man…don’t get so angry at me, dog lovers.
I think this might be the 2nd time I thought the kid was called “you” (2nd person pronoun), but his nam is “You” (given name).
Oh! I don’t think I noticed this special ED the first time around.
Update: Gure is a happy drunk, LOL. Also, Gure is half-Italian, with his father being Japanese. (see ep. 1 of original watch-through for corresponding notes)
Rokuhoudou 9 (REWATCH)
Is the land of love France or Italy…?
Shinchosha is real…in fact, they’re the ones who publish Rokuhoudou’s manga!
Oh, seriously, I ship it now! Isago x Hayashi, that is…and Sui x kittens.
Update: Somehow I only just ralised it…but the titular “Mont Blanc Boy” is Tsunozaki, even though technically the only boys we see in this episode are young! Kyousui and Yakyou.
Rokuhoudou 10 (REWATCH)
The Napolitan episode…this is where Astral’s post comes from.
I get the feeling this segment’s title is a shoutout to “You Don’t Know Gunma Yet”, which is in…Kurage Bunch, also by Shinchosha, if I’m remembering correctly.
Gure and Tsubaki are like children sometimes, I swear…
Kuromitsu = brown sugar. (It means “black sweetness”, literally translating and it used to confuse me so much that I want to mention it here.)
VAINO computer, eh?
Tokyo NX, LOL. (Parody of Tokyo MX, which has a lot of anime.)
Short-haired Tokitaka!
I think Koto(ko…?)’s words, in particular, were one of the best monologues in this series when it comes to relaxing by realising I wasn’t alone in my doubts of the world. “Can I make it to my dreams?” I was asking the first time I saw this and even though I haven’t achieved the dreams of past me, I just had to adjust my expectations, make some new dreams and keep on going.
Rokuhoudou 11 (REWATCH)
Good heck, Gendo-I mean, Kyousui. (re: finger tenting)
Also, there is one univeral truth about this show: don’t watch it on an empty stomach…I had to go get some food a few eps. back in this rewatch because my stomach grumbled…
When I thought of “something rich”, I thought of a pudding too. Maybe my memory is better than I thought, huh?
I thought there was something dirty on my screen…turns out it was just Gure’s beauty spot.
Rokuhoudou 12 (FINAL, REWATCH)
“I’ll wake you up, then.”
I learnt this from the manga, but Itou is the old tea vendor.
Gin-chan reminds me of the inventor Logicalist from Hina Logi.
Karamimochi. By the way, from earlier in the ep…ankoro mochi.
Neneko was meant to be into kimonos, wasn’t she…?
Nion (sic) camera, LOL.
Okay, that’s the end of my first rewatch. It’s a keeper!
Fruits Basket 25 (FINAL)
Shihan = shisho = instructor.
Notice the Jizo, protector of children.
“…didn’t have to block…”
LOL, Tohru’s shocked face going from Kyo to Yuki.
Ooh, Makoto Takei and Machi Kuragi…
Isuzu!!!
Okay, that’s the end of that. See you next time!
Demon Slayer 25
So the other butterfly mansion girls (aside from Aoi, Shinobu and Kanao) are called Naho, Kiyo and Sumi, huh?
Tanjiro is seemingly a freakin’ masochist right now to those girls…
Ooh, there’s a butterfly in a chrysalis on the title card!
It seems, based on the kanji for Tsuguko, the word literally means “inheritor”, “successor” or “one who makes [another person’s role flourish by being in it]”…Like a Legacy Character from TV Tropes. Also, “Tsuyuri” literally means “chestnut flowers fall”, if I understand the characters right.
Kanao does the Naruto run. She wants to see them aliens too!
“Putting in effort isn’t my thing.” – Now there’s a sentence after my own heart!
Why does Kanao not talk???
Kanao’s coin says “front” and “back” instad of heads and tails.
Hmm, hmm…very heterosexual reading of Kanao here. It almost makes me lose hope in the “gay Shinobu” department (not that I’m angry about that).
This guy with the hat…I swear he looks like a jellyfish…
Why do all the swordsmiths wear that mask???
There’s one thing I realised this episode…anime humour means I expect exaggerated reactions to a lot of things, such as Inosuke chipping his swords like that.
I remember being a bit annoying about the interchangeability between the translation of honoo as “fire” and “flame” when I was a Boueibu rookie...*sighs happily* good times.
Okayyyyyy…Tanjiro’s gone cuckoo…
Nezuko, Inosuke and Zenitsu, huh? There’s a combo I’ve never seen!
Mob Psycho 100 OVA
Isekai hot springs, LOL.
I think I can see Saitama’s bald head, LOL.
I think there might be CGI on this hot springs establishment…
This is Reigen, king of bulls*%$, everyone!
Nanbanzuke.
“[P]air of plumbers”, eh…?
Ooh, 8-bit graphics! Remember season 2’s early scenes? That 8-bit one was good.
Dude, Reigen…just leave the train already…then you’ll get out.
LOL, “Mobpis”...Mobpis 100, maybe?
Strangely, Teru looks vaguely hot in one frame of one scene where he has his eyes closed.
Why do I get the feeling the capybaras on TV will be relevant later…?
Now, this parallel world brings a new meaning to “Infinity Train”!
Nice callback to the opening words of s1 and 2.
…and randomly, Dimple can be seen in the red waves.
It seems Dimple likes sprouting legs these days.
Cop Craft 11
Tourte’s career…almost sounds like Trump’s…
“No one treats me like an alien.”
Don’t bring a sword to a gun fight, Tilarna…
The name “transitional crises” is perfect for this episode…geesh. Just like episode 1, there’s a cliffhanger.
Dr Stone 11
Notice the focus on E=mc2 when Senku talks about passing on knowledge.
Ahh, science…the cliché says it’s for loners, but truth be told, science works in tag teams just like anything else. (Yes, even IT, if you look at it a certain way – such as how creating your code builds upon the people who built that code and the people who made the programs you code in.
Why do all the villagers have platform shoes anyway???
Demon Slayer 26 (FINAL)
Is that woman (not the Biwa player, the other one)…Muzan?! Update: Yes.
Genya…he got so tall in 2 years(ish)…poor Tanjiro. He’s fated to kill Kibutsuji, but he’s also fated to be short.
Does every girl in this series have to fall in love with Tanjiro?!?! (or be implied to be shippable with him, even Nezuko???) I obviously don’t like that kind of direction, as you can see.
Ah, Kanao speaks…for once.
I guess Nezuko has a really loud heart voice, to contrast Kanao’s tiny heart voice, so to speak.
How does Inosuke eat anything through the boar head if he’s taking it off all the time now to do things with his mouth???
Darn that ninja Giyu, leaving as soon as he feels sentimental. (LOL)
*starts yelling at top of lungs* MU-GEN TRAIN! (roughly to the tune of TM Network’s Love Train, which I heard about a few months before this)
I just realised Tanjiro’s probably never seen a train, considering the only transport he’s ever known is maybe a carriage/cart…or maybe just his legs.
As Zenitsu’s struggling to keep up with the train, I almost expect the Harry Potter theme to play and a flying car to appear in the distance…okay, I’m kidding about the car, but I did wish for a second the Harry Potter song would play. Nur-nurr-nur-nurrrrrr-nur-nurrrrrr-nurr…(or something)
Cop Craft 12 (FINAL)
“…taking the lead in the mayoral lead.” – That sounds redundant.
Hey! It’s that one Demon Slayer joke again! (i.e. Kei used his head.)
Dead Randall: too much for TV.
I still can’t believe they properly managed to incorporate the porn case into the finale…
I watched Hellsing today and all this “Sir Matoba” this and “Sir Matoba” that made me wonder…why is Integra a “Sir” as well…?
Zelada does look like Alucard in some senses…hmm.
I think the large bruise over Kei’s eye disappeared in one of the scenes…Now it’s just under his eye.
Wait, Tilarna has a sibling??? Wuh???
I like how they transitioned into the OP, but man…talk about a fast ending. That’s a Hellsing kinda ending fo’ sure. Oh well, see you next time.
Ahiru no Sora 1
New season, new faces, new series. Let’s get into it.
Man, this sparrow freaks me out…
Lyrics from the outset. This must be something special to warrant such a thing.
I always thought Kuzuryuu (“nine-headed dragon”, literally translating) was a cool surname to have! Or just a place name, in this case.
LOL, his name is Momohara (peach field).
The arcade machine says “fist” in the back.
Uh-oh…nothing ever goes right when a boy tries peeping into the girl’s locker room…
*sigh* The male gaze…geesh.
“What are you doing?!” (Nani yatterun da?!) doesn’t translate to “This isn’t the circus!”.
Oh right…Momo = 100, chi = 1000, haru = spring, aki = autumn.
Hey, Chiaki actually got Sora’s name right for once…
Basically everything I know about basketball is from Kuroko no Basuke, so…uh…Sora’s reminding me of Kuroko right now.
Shinchou Yuusha 1
I just call this “TUEEE” instead…don’t mind me. Obviously, my target here is Ume…y’know that, right?
Most of these gods and goddesses look suckish, but I wouldn’t mind an anime about the one with the long hair and Monkey King headband.
Ristarte’s already a bundle of fun…although her leg jiggling’s a bit annoying…
(mocking) There must be a downside to this, right, Listarte…?
Can we not with boob storage??? I bet no matter how big a woman’s knockers are, you can’t store anything between ‘em in real life! (I think we’d need an anime Mythbusters for something like that…make it happen, someone!)
YesyesyesyesYES! OOH, Ristarte, you sure know how to pick ‘em! The fact he’s over 180 cm in height is…well, it’s bad for trying to kiss him, but otherwise it’s just a cherry on the cake of smokin’ HOT!
“[F]ish story”??? You mean “fishy”, right? (Oh well, seems like synonyms work too…)
I…don’t quite get this song…but I think I saw a hot guy (might’ve been a woman, but I’d like it to be a man since there are already so many women in the OP as is) about halfway through the OP. It’s a real 2 for 1 bargain here, people. Update: Argh…that’s a woman after all…
Argh! *is suddenly sabotaged by one Ariadoa* If you’ve read the Spellbook, you’ll know one of my aliases is “Aria Noyed”. It just happens to be the same as an anime and manga already, but now I have it ruining my fun here too…
LOL, did you hear that “ba-bing!” acquistion sound when Rista produced the money?
To be honest, I think regular Seiya (with the purple-highlighted armour as you see here) looks pretty hot anyway (plus Ume’s voice, which I came for), so I think I have a lock-in for the season right here.
The sakuga in this show is way too good (according to all the cubes of soil I keep seeing)!
This ED is a pretty cool bop, yo.

Alrighty buckle up let’s do some speculating for the next Mob Psycho 100 Arc - chapter 101 if you would.
tl:dr : The Water Seven Arc from One Piece (Mob is Nico Robin)
LONG ASS POST UNDER THE CUT
So, there’s been rampant destruction, and a lot of people have seen that it was Mob that was causing it all. No denying it here, not ‘it was a sudden series of earthquakes’ no nothing.
People know.
SO! because I am under the opinion that the story is NOT in fact coming to an end - because I don’t think that makes any logical sense from a story telling perspective and it wouldn’t fit with the narrative themes AT ALL -
Let’s talk about what the next part of this Arc might entail shall we?
First of all - I believe that this is the start of the Government Arc that was hinted at may, many, many chapters ago.
So - Mob’s either gonna be stopped by force or ???% is gonna burn out and peace the fuck off back to reassesses of Mob’s mind or wherever the fuck they live idk that’s a different can o’ worms for another post.
Either way Mob’s gonna come back - feel even MORE guilty than he already does and promptly freak the fuck out - I’m picturing a Serizawa like scenario where he locks himself in his room and won’t come out for anyone - Ristu can’t convince him, Hanazawa can’t convince him - hell even REIGEN can’t talk him out.
Then the Government shows up. They send over their strongest espers who are still probably weaker than Shigeo because come on that the whole POINT. Anyways, they’re there to take Mob to the same facility (read PRISON) as Touichirou cause they know he’s a threat and they gotta look after the rest of the population of Japan/The World. Ristu and Co. probably try to fight them off for a bit - get rekt (cause you gotta show us that these new esper are STRONK) then Mob walks over and just gives himself up to them.
Look the poor boy was asking for Teru to straight up KILL HIM - you can’t convince me otherwise here - guys been hating himself for yeARS after what happened to Ristu. Mob knows he’s dangerous when he loses control, and this last disaster just made everything even worse because people got hurt - maybe even died and no one was able to stop him. No one.
So Mob says his goodbye and heads off with the government people. They take him to their TOTALLY SECERT BASE and lock him up or whatever (basically this is the realisation of all those One Punch Man fanfics where Saitama gets locked up voluntarily because’s he just too strong)
anyways the rest of the arc doesn’t feature Mob - just Ristu and the others going about life and realising how much it genuinely SUCKS that Mob’s not their - Reigen’s business still does fine because Seizawa is there - but it’s not the same without his student. Ristu is a fucking mess - forever and always. Teru’s having like six different crises because he’s done so many similar things on PURPOSE and he wasn’t taken away but Mob, kindest person on the planet was. Hell the Body Improvement Club are visibly drooping without their inspirational teammate.
So a decision is reached - They’re gonna get Mob back - Shou comes along as well cause Ristu helped him stop his dad so it’s only fair he helps save Mob.
The gang do some SERIOUS TRAINING - like months and months of planning, research, practising, stopping all the other threats that show up (and since Mob isn’t there to take care of them the other’s level by fighting in his place) Reigen’s office becomes their HQ. Everyone bonds, it’s great.
They bust their way through the Government’s super secret esper holding facility or whatever - Shou and Serizawa see Touichirou again - it’s kinda awkward but Shou busts his dad out and he joins the fight to break Mob out because he knows what goes on he and he knows’ Mob doesn’t really deserve any of that.
So they finally get to were Mob is - and he’s just chillin reading a book or something - and he’s super confused as to why everyone’s there. Caused he’d convinced himself that they’d all be much better off without him - so Ristu and co have this big emotional speech where they tell Mob how much he means to all of them and no matter how many times he loses control they know it’s not really him doing any of the damage when he’s unconscious - and they manage to convince Mob to let them break him out
But while making their way back out the Government Espers show up again for a final showdown and Mob get knockout again and ???% shows up. But it’s not attacking anyone - just kinda staring - and the government esper are using it as a reason as to why Mob is obvious this danger to everyone and they should just kill him ect ect ect - and go to attack Mob and stuff but ???% doesn’t do anything - just put up a barrier and waits.
Then you switch to Mob’s perspective inside his own head and he and ???% are having a conversation - you find out what ???% is and why it’s inside of Mob (personal head cannon is it’s this eldritch entity that latches on to powerful psychics to hide from all the spirits that wanna eat it for it’s power ect - but it actually really likes Mob because who doesn’t like Mob which is why it tries to protect him whenever he goes unconscious). Mob and ???% make a deal and achieve full synchronisation or whatever and become this god like being that fucks EVERYONE’S SHIT UP - it even fully restores the city and wipes the memories of everyone who saw Mob lose it so everything can go back to normal (save for Ristu and Co cause Mob knows now they aren’t scared of him)
Then everyone goes home and has ice cream or something cause dear god they need a fucking break at this point

Alright, HERE we go! Awhile ago I had an idea for a MP100/Voltron crossover, and after mentioning it to @x-i-l-verify and loooots of brainstorming later, we have...*gestures vaguely* this. These are more or less screenshot redraws just to kind of get across who is who. :) More info, reasonings and musings under the cut, because well...it got long...
Teru’s Role: Shiro (Black Paladin)
A year ago, Teruki Hanazawa (around his early twenties in this universe) was chosen for an exploration mission to Kerberos.
Teru was always at the top of his class at the Galaxy Garrison and took the job proudly. He believed he was something special, and it was only right he would be selected for such a prestigious mission.
Then he and his small team got kidnapped by an alien race: an empire called Claw.
He was forced into slavery, forced to fight, to kill, just to survive.
Somewhere along the way, Teru lost his arm. Some time and excruciating experiments later, he had a new one. It made killing easier.
He hates it.
After being forced to endure and commit horrors unimaginable for so long, Teruki Hanazawa realized (you’re horrible, no one is coming to save you, no one cares about you) that he was rather insignificant in the grand scheme of the universe. Being treated like dirt for a year would do that to a guy.
By the time he managed to escape and make it back to Earth, Teru saw himself as nothing more than a commoner.
When the time came for him to lead Voltron, Teru could think of no one less qualified or deserving to pilot the Black Lion than himself. But someone had to do it...
Tome’s Role: Pidge (Green Paladin)
Tome always believed there was something more out there in the stars. She knew there were aliens out there, and she wanted to find them for herself.
Tome believed joining the Galaxy Garrison would be just the way to do it.
There she could train to reach for the stars, not to mention she was able to find suspicious extraterrestrial hints along the way.
She’s pretty tech savvy in this AU because she had the proper drive, resources and training (not as good as Pidge, but still pretty much the group techie).
Further out in the desert, there’s a particular cave covered in strange lion markings that she took interest in...luckily there was a shack nearby where she could frequently visit and organize her findings.
Through a bizarre series of events, Tome finally made it to space.
By the time Tome finally discovered real aliens, she couldn’t be happier.
She just never would have expected how big a role she would have in a massive intergalactic alien war, fighting as the Green Paladin of Voltron.
Shou’s Role: Keith (Red Paladin)
This one’s the most iffy but here we go
Shou is the son of the big boss of Claw in canon, ergo he’s the Emperor's son in this AU. He has no idea about it though.
Shou’s mother, one of Emporor Touicirou’s consorts, began to fear for her unborn son’s life and fled the Claw empire (with the help of this AU’s equivalent of the Blade of Mamora, probably the 7th division crew?? They did defect in canon so...). Shou was born on a far away planet called Earth, and his mother used alien technology to safely disguise them both.
His mother passed away when he was very young. Shou can’t remember what she looks like. All he has left of her is a little knife with a strange symbol on it (subject to change).
Years later, Shou’s adoptive parents enroll him in the Galaxy Garrison, hoping the strict schooling will discipline their mischievous, troublesome child.
Shou is absolutely bored at the Garrison. He is an extremely gifted pilot though.
He sees Tome sneaking around the school sometimes and figures she’s up to no good. He wants in.
Shou and Tome end up searching for aliens together; Shou more because it’s fun and not really having any particular interest in aliens, Tome not knowing that an alien already befriended her (it’s not like he knows either).
Serizawa’s Role: Hunk (Yellow Paladin)
Seri’s still plagued with severe social anxiety, but there are no psychic powers in this AU so he never felt the need to isolate himself to protect others.
Serizawa is a chef in the Garrison cafeteria. This way he has minimal social interaction while still being a positive contributor to society.
This doesn’t stop Reigen from singling him out.
Reigen believes Serizawa makes the best takoyaki around, and kinda takes the guy under his wing after that.
Serizawa suddenly finds himself with a friend to eat lunch with. He’s kind of freaked out by this and thinks it’s a one time fluke, but Reigen keeps coming back and keeps talking to him. Seri quickly warms up to this strange but friendly man.
In order to help Serizawa more with his social anxiety, Reigen has him come sit in on some of his classes once in awhile. Seri ends up as a sort of unofficial Teacher’s Assistant.
Seri’s always terrified the students will hate him and he always brings snacks for the class.
He really has nothing to worry about though. The kids love Serizawa.
Reigen’s Role: Lance (Blue Paladin)
Reigen is a teacher at the Galaxy Garrison, so I guess he’s actually “Shishou” this time around lol.
He teaches history or English or something, since I do see the Garrison as more of a university/school of sorts (Hunk did mention a “principal” in the show), and Reigen wouldn’t be able to handle being a drill sergeant (the guy wouldn’t have the heart to yell at kids all day).
As mentioned before, Reigen noticed Serizawa struggling with anxiety, and one day took it upon himself to kinda help and mentor him.
One day on the way out from working, Reigen and Serizawa catch two students sneaking out of the building past curfew.
They follow Tome and Shou out to their little alien research base, and Reigen confronts them.
Right as Reigen is about to reprimand the kids, a meteor crashes to Earth. Shou and Tome run off to investigate, stealing a hoverbike in the process. As the closest authority figures, Reigen and Serizawa follow and end up as chaperones of sorts for these reckless kids.
Reigen is the true Space Dad in this AU (sorry Teru :P).
Things proceed pretty much as canon Voltron episode 1 from there: they find Teru in the landing site (Tome: “An alien?!” Shou: “Nah, isn’t he that jerk that was always at the top of our class...?” Reigen: “He’s still a kid, and we’re getting him out of here, let’s GO.”), rescue him and regroup back at Tome’s conspiracy shack, the accidental discovery of Blue Lion, Reigen waltzing in and accidentally ending up as her paladin, the crazy flight and wormhole to the castleship (*points to my first picture at the top lol*), the discovery of the “last Alteans in the universe” in cryopods...which leads to...
Mob’s Role: Allura (can pilot all lions, Yellow is his favorite)
Mob is a Prince and was next in line for the throne. Now that he and Ritsu are apparently the last Alteans alive, he’s not sure what to make of it.
He was always insecure and even scared of his impending kingship, or leading in general. He has been trained thoroughly for the role as he grew up, so he’s a more capable and levelheaded guide than canon Mob would be.
He still speaks quite softly, but there is always an earnest strength in his tone that makes others stop and listen instead of talking over him.
Mob is weaker than most Alteans (due to some chronic illness like his anemia from canon) but that doesn’t mean he still can’t fight or throw a person across the room. He’s still very strong by human standards.
He still would prefer to use words instead of physically fighting in any conflict.
Mob is in his early twenties in Earth years, about Teru’s age of mental maturity (sorry he still looks so young in the picture...). They end up bonding over their insecurities in leadership.
Mob also bonds with Serizawa in having natural affinities for Yellow Lion.
The space mice may or may not be small alien cats instead in this AU, not sure.
Mob stumbles out of the Cryopod, dazed and confused. He quickly takes on his role as a guide for the Paladins, and does his absolute best to help them learn to pilot their lions and form Voltron.
Ristu’s Role: Coran (can pilot all lions, doesn’t really have a preference)
Ritsu is Mob’s half brother in this AU. We took some artistic liberties in this, having this make Ritsu as more of a servant/bodyguard to the royal family than as an actual heir (hello, inferiority complex from canon...).
Mob always treated Ritsu like family nonetheless. Ritsu does care about Mob a great deal and guards him with his life.
He’s more around Shou’s and Tome’s age in mental maturity.
Ritsu is...intense for an Altean. He kinda scares everyone a little bit (except for Mob, who’s lived with him as long as he can remember, and Teru, who’s already Seen It All and can’t really be phased by much anymore;;;;; )
Very jumpy. Even more than canon since I imagine being a bodyguard leaves you more on edge than not.
Came out of the Pod fighting like Coran did, and probably took longer to calm down.
He is also the “drill sergeant” in their Voltron training exercises (wiping the floor with everyone and being Mr. Drill Sargent Nasty: "No, Brother, I'm not going too hard on them! Claw isn't going to defeat itself! SHOU GET YOUR ASS BACK IN HERE I SEE YOU TRYING TO SNEAK OUT, DROP AND GIVE ME THIRTY." -thank you for that Xi <3)
Mob brings the juice pouches and guides the quieter, trust building exercises like the maze and mental lions. He is also there to make sure Ritsu doesn’t run the Paladins and himself into the ground.
Mob and Ritsu balance each other rather well in guiding the paladins, actually.
Shou at some point gets it in his head that Ritsu is just a stick in the mud and needs to be befriended. Ritsu’s not too pleased by this, but then eventually does mellow out by some miracle.
In fact, he does grow rather fond of this odd band of humans, and starts thinking that maybe, maybe, his brother really is right in thinking they might be capable of saving the universe...
....well that’s super long for a set-up post, but hey, might as well put the ideas down where I can :’) More to come...probably....

UNDERSTANDING AND RELATING TO SHIGEO KAGEYAMA
Maybe the reason why I love Mob so much as a character is because I relate to him so much, you could say I even look up on him after all the amazing progress he's made through the comic and how much he has emotionally matured, ONE has a knack for such characters, Saitama is a pretty interesting and unique character too, but I believe Mob is much more complex and elaborated, maybe ONE is trying to reflect a part of himself by writing these characters? Who knows, but Mob really grew in me after I saw how capable of overcoming his condition he is. There's probably several people who can say they relate to Mob and have posted about it but in a more serious matter I can say I relate to Shigeo in a way that really makes me try to be like him, why? And yes I'll talk a bit about myself but please bear with me, when I was 13 (just barely a year younger than Mob) I had a very strong depression because I lacked empathy, a weird reason, or rather, no reason to be depressed? The point was that, like Mob, I just wanted to make friends and feel the same way everyone else did and enjoy life as much as people my age did, but (unlike Shigeo, this time) I rejected so many aspects of how things had to be done and what people expected from me, I restrained myself from making contact with others, precisely because I found no enjoyment in doing common things people my age did, talking about common things, common feelings in general, I had other interests that were out of my reach unless I gave up my social life completely. And so I did, I isolated my mind from others and suppressed my feelings just like Mob did, so that I could avoid hurting myself by reminding myself I didn't find life as enjoyable, so I could avoid being hurt by others and hurting others by hurting myself, eventually, all those suppressed feelings created an "entity" in me (you could say similar to Mob's) that I could not let out or the consequences would be terrible for me and everyone around me, and believe me, it wasn't pretty even if we're not talking about some fictional ???% omnipotent psychic entity haha. With the time, like Mob, experiences and people helped me through it and it was a hell of a ride, I learned that just like Mob in the Mogami arc, meeting people that hurt you or hurting yourself, or isolating yourself, or even being too nice and ignoring those who wrong you for the sake of keeping yourself together, was as harmful as it was fruitfull, equally, and one cannot just live by ignoring what's wrong in hopes it'll go away, you need to mature emotionally, too, to be able to take decisions that will improve your life and relationship with others, to open your eyes and see that you cannot pretend living suppressed by your own problems and thinking being away from people is the only way there is to avoid hurting everyone, at the beginning we all know Shigeo wants to "change" after ???% takes over and hurts Ritsu badly, but why did he fail to "change"? The answer is, Mob didn't change the right way, he needed an emotional change, it wasn't a matter of control or restraint, it was a matter of being Mature enough to stop Teru the moment he realized words wouldn't do, the way he dealt with Shou's dad and Serizawa; when he dealt with those two, Mob had already underwent that emotional change, the Mogami arc was SO important because it made him realize this was the right change he needed to make and he had the realization he had been doing things wrong, that's when we notice Shigeo's changing and becomes aware of what he should do. But me? Even if I got so far, sometimes I still feel that looming "entity", that condition that drags me back when I poke it too much and it might just burst one day, like Mob, though I believe Mob's mental condition is different and even slightly canonically hinting he's a bit of an autistic kid? I can only say I relate to him, not that we are very much the same or alike, but my admiration for Mob just grows as the story continues, the way he's been capable of dealing with more and more inspires me to do the same and God I was so happy when he finally got the friends he so long wished for (at the start of Reigen's humiliation arc), and I thank ONE-sensei for being such a good writer and I'd like to have a word with him one day if that's possible, bless this man. Aah thank you for reading all this blabbering
