Refs for the 12 minute frostpaw storyboard/animatic/potential map call I made when the first a starless clan book came out. I've considered working on the map call a lot since, and have gotten many requests to, but being so inexperienced with such a big project of course made me hesitate. The new book however pushed me to make a full ref sheet that should cover every scene [Under the cut!]. Now i just have to edit some shots and write a script........

Mistpaw and Graypaw

i feel like when it comes to siblings of protags, their dynamic is either a main focal point, or the books forget the siblings even exist. Mistpaw and Graypaw fall into the latter category lol.

the bit in the first asc book, when they Cuddle Frostpaw after their mom's death was cute, but they haven't done much since. i really feel for them though. they're also going through a lot.

also, given Curlfeather's scheming, it is absolutely hilarious that she has a kid called Mistpaw. i wonder how intentional that was. if she gets named Mistfoot i'm gonna lose my shit

for Mistpaw, i was originally gonna make her more of a tortie, but the calico look ended up really cute. she's also probably the biggest of the siblings, and the only one w coloring from her mom.

Graypaw gets more of his shape from Curl, and some of his light markings match hers (i'm gonna be basing her off a shiba inu). his flower is a pink carnation, which according to my very brief google search, means mother's love.

both of them (and Frostpaw) get the curly tail from their mom lol. under the cut is them + my wip Frostpaw design. i think they at least somewhat look like siblings. i hope it came across

Hmmm, this one's hard, lemme see...

The Breezedaughters Smokehaze, Brindlewing, Woodsong, and Appleshine are all pretty much non-entities in fanworks so far that I have seen. For all the talk of Breezepelt being a girl dad I see surprisingly little of the girls themselves. Give them a personality trait or two, they're so background they're yours to mold. Some of my projects in the works have some of that, so stay tuned. ;3

Hollytuft Girlie got given the exact same identity complex as her mom and we're not investigating that? Seriously? With her there's more talk about this theme but not nearly enough fanworks. (I would have listed her with her littermates but Fernie gets decent attention and Sorrel gets to be Finch and Night's wetnurse so, eh. Not underused enough in my book.)

Frostpaw's siblings I'm pleased at the fact they're consistently mentioned background characters and that they have had some really sweet interactions. But they could have been so much more. I will harp on until the day I die about how they should have been protags in place of Sunbeam and Nightheart. They could have been much more interesting protagonists in the thick of the RiverClan crisis.

Jayclaw I need to know what his dynamic was with Curlfeather. I imagine him, his brother Owlnose, and her brother Podlight to have all been a clique that formed around her strong personality. I'm spinning yarn out of nothing here (and it relates to a project in the works ;3), but I think they can potentially work as a group Curly had in her plans all long.

Duskfur Speaking of Frostpaw's family, what's up with her grandma? Is anyone gonna explore that? No? Not even to examine the possible connections she had to her daughter's plan? Hello?

Frostpaw has a really interesting family tree as far as recent protagonists go, both in Curlfeather's side as well as in Jayclaw's side. But personally I'd like to see more art of her siblings so would you mind drawing a Graypaw or a Mistpaw, please?
