I went back through old photos and remembered the times I spent with people I no longer see or speak with; I recall how optimistic I was when I imagined I'd be someone in the near future; The night was young, and I was naive;

I had no idea I was going in the wrong direction; I may have disliked my previous job, but I adored the people with whom I worked. I'm still amazed at how sharing moments with them turned my dull days into amusing ones; I was just a kid with big dreams. Not knowing that six years later, my life would be filled with nothing but emptiness;

I'd gladly trade my time just to be able to relive those happy moments again. To be honest, I'm at a loss for what to do with my life. Days, months, and years are slipping away; And all I can feel inside is the heaviness of this never-ending emptiness. It's destroying every part of me; It appears that my days of daydreaming and laughter are finally over, and I am doomed to a life of meaninglessness and senselessness. I wish I could go back in time. ​

SOOOOOOOOO MUCH POTENTIAL..........!!!!!!!

I say/type that with disappointment in the way the drama played out. It’s really such a shame because there was a large budget spent on this drama just for it to sizzle out. Don’t get me wrong, I mean the beginning had just enough to reel in viewers and a loyal audience, taking into consideration the intriguing storyline/genre, that hasn’t been quite tapped into as much yet, and the star-studded cast as well. But all this went down the drain. 

I can name several dramas with severely unrecoverable endings on the top of my head, but I think it’s been awhile since I’ve seen an ending like this one....It felt like the writer ran out of time trying to address everything in one last episode. There are dramas that leave things up to the interpretations of the viewers/audience which is completely fine, but even in that sense this ending failed to deliver because even with interpretations there were still loopholes and unanswered questions for the possibilities of however this was concluded. It was abrupt and could have used an extra episode or two, considering how much time was spent/wasted on flashbacks @____@.

HOWEVER, if it was truly and really the intention of the writer to make this drama seem just as flawed as the game was in the drama was, then bravo haha. Like was the game in this drama a reflection of the drama itself and vice versa? Building up expectations for players (viewers), and then through the experience having unsolved questions and confusion? Or was it the writer’s intention to just leave the viewer questioning how and why? To explain, first I must go into a really brief summary of the last episode.

As we see in the last episode, Jinwoo deletes/erases bugs after bugs and they turn to dust, but these are the people that are already dead. Once Park Sunho retraces Jinwoo’s steps in the game, we see that he sees Jinwoo’s dust, and that the ‘bug’ is also deleted. Then the game resets. Despite all of these issues with the game, called Next, and even though no one knows why the game resetted itself, a year later it somehow manages to be released to the general public and become a popular phenomenon with people playing outdoors, etc. (Think POKEMON GO). Seju mentions his ‘instance dungeon’ that he created during his time on the run, and that it is only possible for the ‘master’ of the game to create this independent space/dimension, and it is impossible for enemies to see the dungeon. Heeju overhears a player telling his friend that he saw an user with a gun, but his friend says that this is not possible because only users that are level 50 can have guns and the game only came out a few days before so it’s impossible to have leveled up that quickly, but the player tells his friend he is sure he saw the user with a gun, and immediately she believes that he is alive. And then towards the end we see that he is actively helping players using his gun. But they said he does not have an user ID...so they are uncertain about what exactly he is. But from this we can infer that these users see him and that he is visible. 

Some things that I wished were better addressed:  -Once we saw that Jinwoo as a ‘bug’ was deleted and turned to dust, it is assumed that he has died in the game like the others, but if he died in the game, unlike the other ‘bugs’, the whereabouts of his physical body was unknown (and perhaps that’s why Heeju and Sunho kept believing that he was still alive, but then how is that possible if he himself as a ‘bug’ was already deleted then?) As we saw from the others, once they died or were killed in the game, they died in reality as well, but based on this information, how is it possible for Jinwoo to have been dead in the game but still alive in reality (considering the whereabouts of physical body are unknown). There was no explanation offered for how Jinu in the game was deleted but was able to still be playing the game (if it was really him helping the other players) and also offered no explanation for even why players died in reality from the results of playing a game.  -Seju first tells Park Sunho that Jinwoo is probably dead after being stabbed by Emma because that’s what he programmed her to do. But later he tells Yangjoo who works at the company about an ‘instance dungeon. “An instance dungeon in real life” is what Seju says to explain how he managed to survive and suggests that the same is possible for Jinwoo, meaning that perhaps his physical body is in the instance dungeon, but this is not possible because we saw he was deleted and the bugs that were in the church disappeared as well. Seju mentioned the instance dungeon that helped mask and protect him for the majority of the time he was on the run, and while one can also think that perhaps there is a possibility that Jinwoo build himself a dungeon and is staying in the dungeon, 1) it makes no sense as to why he would do that considering he had already deleted the ‘bugs’ and therefore there is really nothing that he has to run from anymore or protect himself from and also that  2) he himself as a bug was deleted too (meaning that he couldn’t have made an instance dungeon taking into consideration that he was already deleted even if he had already became the Master). Going to what I had said previously, how do you still keep playing if you are already deleted? But let’s say that somehow he manage to become dust and we saw the dust disappear along with the dust of the other bugs, and then go somehow he goes back to his old self and still plays the game. Perhaps being trapped or having to stay in the dungeon (since it is called a ‘dungeon’ after all), is a requirement until the next person completes the quest and releases him? (but then even if he was in said dungeon how is it possible that players can see him when it wasn’t possible for anyone to see Seju? Or does each new Master have different things that he can do?)  -Heeju logged in when she went and tried to see if Jinwoo was still alive, but so does this mean that it is only possible to see him once you are logged in now? As in is he now simply just a character in the game? But if this is the case it still does not offer an explanation for the whereabouts of his physical body/self.

-It was never addressed why Jinwoo was the only one who was able to see the bugs/enemies etc without even having on the lens after a few times. 

Perhaps in an attempt to appease viewers who followed this drama since the start, the writer tried to offer an ending suggesting that Jinwoo is alive due to the instance dungeon, but even then there is no certainty with how that is possible ( and again how it was possible to see him and not see Seju) unless simply because it was just unexplained like everything else that happened to Jinwoo and simply left to ‘magic’. Didn’t realize I wrote an essay and didn’t mean to. Again sorry for any typos and being all scattered with my thoughts, so tired lol. While there is much more to discuss, I am going to stop here for now.  @_________@

Hyun Bin in Memories of the Alhambra

Is it me or Jin Woo in MOTA really matches Hyun Bin as a person? Undeniably, Hyun Bin has matured over the years (like a fine wine hell yeah) but I can't help to feel that the casting team somehow brought it home by choosing Hyun Bin?

His soft-spoken personality moulds CEO-like Jin Woo, automatically sets the character from the rest. The maturity of expressions and emotions also make Jin Woo such a wholesome character to watch.

Idk. Maybe I just love Hyun Bin.
