Have you ever been so melancholy, that you wanted to fit in the palm of your beloved’s hand? And lie there, for fortnights, or decades, or the length of time between stars? In complete silence?

This GORGEOUS artwork is all thanks to Melanholy Spirit, who absolutely nailed my survivor Wraith concept!
Please check her out here or at Melanholy Spirit#6423 on discord and commission her because she's absolutely amazing ❤
This commission is for my DBD fic centered around the premise of Philip appearing in the realm as a survivor instead of a killer. Check it out here on Ao3.

So I'm rewatching The Last of Us for the first time since I only watched it like two days ago and my mind is spiraling.
We know that if we put togeher the name from first and last episode we will get the line: When you're lost in the darkness, look for the light, but I don't remember anyone mentioning the fact that we saw this line two times in ep. 1.
First when Joel looks at it and then we have this shot:
Second when Ellie looks at it and then we have this shot:
It made me wondering why the part about looking for the light is missing when it comes to Ellie. Is it because shes her own light? Or maybe because she realized in the first episode that Joel is her light, whether he needed more time to figure that out?
Also, the fact that the same song but in different versions plays at the end of episode 1 and 7 - both right before their lives were about to be changed completly. In first episode the version is positive and upbeat in the moment when they steped outside of the fance - their journey starts. Wheter in episode 7 its sad and melanholy when Joel falls from the horse and Ellie begs him to not live her - right before the, changing them and they relationship, shitshow of ep 8, that lead them to realization that there's nothing they wouldn't do to keep each other alive and save. After that Joel killing everyone in a hospital to save Ellie wasn't such a streach.
