Excited to finally reveal a postcard design I made for The Marx Brothers Council Podcast! They recently opened a Patreon and one of the perks of subscribing is receiving monthly postcards featuring all-new artwork. They’re looking for more artists, so I encourage anyone who’s interested to check into that opportunity!
I posted my first drawing of the Barx Brothers two years ago today, meaning it’s the birthday of the Canine Comedians! Here’s most of the dawgs taking their funny guys’ places in the Flip the Frog cartoon “Soda Squirt.”
Happy April Fools Day from one of my *many* favorite fools! Have some fun but be considerate to others’ feelings- don’t be Squidward.
Also, check your local PBS listings for Frank Ferrante’s “Evening With Groucho” show coming sometime today or later- around here it’s on Sunday at 5pm!
This is it… Canine Comedians: Horn to be Wild! This first page is free, but if you’d like to see more, join me on Patreon to help Harpo solve the mystery! Membership is $1 (USD), there is other exclusive content there you automatically unlock as well and I have ideas for more. If you can’t contribute it’s ok, I thank you for being here and supporting my work with your shares and comments!
(PS… happy birthday Groucho… that’s why I chose today)
Now these are cameos/occasional appearances who aren’t official to the Canine Comedians lineup and don’t appear in the new comic, but really depend on who I’m in the mood to draw! I have doodled other dogs including Abbott and Costello since I made this, so you’re sure to see some new ones from time to time.
Brand new to the Canine Comedians’ world are the teens staffing their kennel (which is called Hollywoof by the way). They are human versions of old comedians’ dogs- Gray V is based off Laughing Gravy from Laurel and Hardy, and Petey is probably more familiar as the Little Rascals dog. Since no one is sure about Laughing Gravy’s gender, Gray is nonbinary, and Petey has vitiligo to mirror the dog’s markings.
