Ok so I don’t know if anyone else has noticed this, but here we go. In Emesis blue, I noticed that Pyro’s axe had Nordic knots on it, and the blade was a bearded style.

Then, in the church scene where Medics face is burned, an M is burned onto his face. This is a reference to the movie M (1931) where the killer was marked with a chalk M on their back so he could be identified.

But, if you’ll notice, the M on Medic’s face isn’t a normal letter M, it is the elder futhark rune commonly translated to the letter M in English.

This rune is called Mannaz, or Man and is used to represent Humanity, which I think fits into the story of Emesis Blue and more specifically Medic’s journey.

This brings me back to Pyro, I think it would be safe to headcannon Emesis Pyro as Norse, and possibly a Norse pagan. The scene that immediately follows, Pyro is beheaded, and afterwards the crowd claps.
