Lee snickers, stuffing Jake’s chocolate into his mouth as he stares down the crying elf. He shrugs, “You shoulda eaten it when you got it.” Lee shrugs, “Your loss.” Jake pouts, tears brimming his eyes as he watches his fellow elf eat all his chocolate, the particular kind you made just for him, the kind he was saving for a perfect day.

Lee didn’t see you entering the room behind him, nor did he see the scowl on your face as you heard every word. Jake’s vision was too blurry with tears to notice, either. Your arms cross over your chest as you glare down at the little shit, “Lee Bodecker, that isn’t a way to treat Jake.” He whips around, chocolate covering his fat fingers and chubby cheeks, staring wide-eyed at you. You point as you continue to glare. “Out. I’ll deal with you later.” Lee grumbles as he begrudgingly leaves the room, dragging his feet slowly.

Once he leaves the room, you shut the door and kneel, scooping Jake into your hands. “Hey, baby. It’s okay. I’ll make you some more.” You press a kiss onto his little head, letting him nuzzle into your palm as he cries, saddened by his lack of chocolate. “How about we go and make some right now? I’ll make sure it’s extra protected.” Jake looks up at you, sniffling as you softly wipe away his tears, stroking his little cheek. He nods, snuggling into you as you walk out of the room and into the kitchen, gently settling him down onto the kitchen counter and gathering the ingredients.

The two of you spent most of the day making enough chocolate for Jake to stash away, ensuring they were well protected. He looked up at you with a dreamy look, softly smiling as you reached down and picked him up, bringing him closer to your face. Jake leans forward and kisses the tip of your nose, placing both hands on your cheeks as he looks at you. “Thank you, I really love you.”

You smile and press a kiss on his head. “I love you too, baby.”
