The cognitive switch the fandom has had to make from "their relationship is one-sided, Reo does everything!" to "their relationship is one-sided, Nagi is sickeningly in love with Reo" is crazy to see -- NAGI STAND UP

(I don't necessarily think that way but I can tell that's where this is headed for ppl 😭)

The implication that Nagi would suffer if he had to live the remainder of his life without Reo... "don't die before me"... i.e. 'do what you want but stay here'... he thought saying it would make Reo happy...

The fact that Nagi thinks they're similar -- much more similar than Reo seems to think they are -- makes their parting all the more bittersweet. It touches on the loner/outcast side of Nagi, to latch onto the first person to really connect with him and I like seeing that major part of his life actually explored in the oneshot. Like him living sparsely, alone, with no support system, is not just a goofy bit, it really does affect the way you perceive the world and your relationships.

I already liked and understood Nagi, but seeing it expanded on in the manga just made me love his character even more,, can we see them succeed and be happy in the main manga now,,, please,,

you're having a bad day.

nagi is used to your softness, though. he's used to your voice sounding warm and collected.

but you're different today.

he's not sure what to do. a few months of knowing you and being in a relationship with you isn't really enough to figure you out completely, he surmises.

there's a frown on your lips and since the moment you walked in his place, greeted him "hi" with a forced smile, you've yet to give him attention.

additionally, there's an incessant ringing on your phone. this must be the third time. nagi's only counting because he's been trying to figure out what's got you looking like you could wreck everything around you if you could.

except this time, with a frustrated squeal, you're taking your phone instead of immediately hanging up.

the boom of your frustrated voice comes as a surprise as you yell out, "fuck off!"

nagi's whole body freezes up, his heavy lidded eyes wide with surprise, only bringing himself back to reality when his phone falls from his grip, slapping against his thigh.

you've hung up now, but it doesn't stop there because you're hurling your own phone down the carpeted floor. so finally, nagi stands from his position on the bed and nears you.

he doesn't want to push against what you've done with your frustration, so he steps across your phone to leave it alone.

he sits next to you on the couch, but when he's bringing you to his lap and you whimper, nagi realizes that perhaps he should've done this in the first place. breathing heavily, your hands reach to his arms with a tight grip only getting tighter with frustration.

"eh... yn, that's gonna start hurting," he mutters as if he actually minded; his own hands moving to place on top of your head, in contrast to yours, his touch is warm and gentle.

it proves effective, though, because your grip lets up and your tense body relaxes slightly against his hold.

"are you fine to talk about it?" nagi feels like asking such a question is like seeing if a snake would bite you if you offered yourself up to it. (it would.)

luckily, you shake your head instead.

"are you still upset?" he feels you nod against his chest.

"did you see i downloaded the shooter game i'm playing on your phone?"

nagi wants to see your reaction, but after a moment passes, all he gets is the small shake of your head.

"can you play with me later?" and nagi's voice is soothing, like he's letting you come down from your frustration slowly and somehow it's working.

"mhm," you answer him this time.

your voice sounds soft again, the palm of your hands running against his arm in an up and down motion.

and after all of this, you reach to place a kiss on his cheeks. just like that, you're back to him again.

and he learns there's still so much about you he’s yet to know.

So recently, there was this blue lock exhibition where you could be accompanied by either an E4 (isagi/bachira/kunigami/chigiri) or a reonagi/nagireo voice guide. (Full translation for the former here and the latter (+ the actual audio) here)

And the reonagi/nagireo one makes me very :) sane :) actually :)

And the fact that this script was supervised by Kaneshiro-sensei himself and thus makes all of this canon...
