the general plotline of master of my own isn’t necessarily unique per se, but it doesn’t really need to be. It’s about kenny lin who is your typical bossy, high maintenance ceo and seven, who is his secretary. their relationship blossom over a series of events. kenny is not a bad person... but he’s mean. he cares and he doesn’t want seven to leave him, but he’s rude about it. he can’t express what he wants to express in a proper adult way UNTIL later in the drama but the drama is predictable to an extent. he softens up and you see the good in him and wish for him to be with seven especially after seeing her with someone who is worst but! he’s still mean. I still like him though and I like his arc, that’s the power of romanticizing toxic qualities of men who are handsome. all joking aside, I think the cast for this drama is quite enjoyable... I’ll watch seven in anything, and I was watching kenny in his drama with wu jingyan but I never finished it. now that the drama is ending soon, and they’re ramping up their romance I’m shaking to be honest... I don’t want this drama to end, but I need to see the new episodes.

#kingdom hearts dream drop distance #khddd #sora #riku #nightmare's end #mirage split #my gif #i was going to write up a whole thing in the tags about my thoughts on this keyblade #but i just know it'll be an incoherent essay because i can't properly articulate my thoughts #the x-blade must be forged through a clash of light and darkness #but i find it so highly significant that sora and riku can create their own keyblade which is so unheard of #this keyblade isn't created with a clash but rather through harmony and balance #not with conflict but with understanding and connection and love #and i always felt as though that's how the x-blade SHOULD be forged. that master xehanort went about it all wrong #because balance and connections are such important themes in these games #it has two handles and looks so regal when combined. all of the shapes feel reminiscent of the x-blade too #it shines so brilliantly with both sora and riku's symbols. the heart and crown which is the iconic logo for the entire series #also the way stained glass is always used to represent hearts. it's so significant! #and yeah the paupu fruit keychain is its own thing to unpack #okay so i ended up writing something anyway but there's still so much more #i just really hope we get to see more of this in future games because it would be shocking if it was nothing more than a cool combo attack

We all know that when Crowley says, "You can't leave this bookshop", what he's really saying is, "You can't leave this life we've made together", but he's too scared to include himself explicitly in it, right? It's like in the fight about Gabriel where Crowley says he wants Gabriel "nowhere near the precious, peaceful, fragile existence he's carved out for himself" but we all know he's just talking about Aziraphale because whenever he's actually talking to Jim or himself, he's only worried about what will happen to Aziraphale, not himself in the slightest. Worrying what will happen to himself is a facade he pulls up in front of Aziraphale to deflect from how deeply he loves him.

On the other hand, when Aziraphale says, "Oh Crowley, nothing lasts forever", he's really saying, "I love you so much that I am willing to give up all my most precious worldly possessions to assure that you are given the treatment and reinstatement you so deserve." His tone of voice and his face are both all love even.

Like it's just so amazingly sad that what Crowley is reading as rejection, as "you're not good enough as you are", is almost definitely Aziraphale saying he loves him more than everything else and thinks he's the most truly good soul he knows?

shoutout to taigen for being the most expressive character in the entire show.

you will never not know whatever the hell he is feeling or thinking at the moment because he will literally tell you (either very earnestly like when he traumadumps to mizu or very sarcastically which is the other 99% of the time he talks to mizu) or you will see it plain as day on his face.

this is the textbook definition of a man wearing his heart on his sleeve. look in the dictionary for what a "simple man" means and you will find taigen's face there.

like once you cut through the massive ego and pompousness he uses to mask his own insecurities and traumas, he is literally just some guy. he's not evil or stupid. not super kind or super smart either. an asshole but not the worst there is. he's incredibly skilled but he's not the strongest ever or even the most skilled. he is literally! just a guy!

y'all can hate him all you want but let's be real, taigen is actually the most relatable character out of everyone. like this man is POOR, he is PATHETIC, he is COMPLAINING ALL THE TIME, and most of all he is OBSESSED WITH MIZU. if that shit ain't relatable idk what is.

master of my own is over... now what the fuck am I gonna do? full honesty, I didn’t think the ending would be good but it actually wrapped everything up quite well. I like the sentiment behind it, and I understand the intention of the screenwriters. the drama is borderline slowburn, so if you’re into very direct romance then you’re probably not gonna love this. I feel like with the premise it had it disguised itself as your run of the mill drama but in reality it was much more about ning meng’s growth as a career women. her drive to become stronger and her journey in the investing world, her love story and subsequent relationship with jiming was just a byproduct of that. this is a spoiler, but the drama basically ends as their relationship as a couple “starts” but it oddly enough suits the pace of the show... I thought I’d be pissed, but from ning meng’s spiel with su weiran, his letter to her, and then the build up of lumeng (although short) was all well within reason. I enjoyed that. the love between ning meng and jiming was never one that was overly flowery or lovey dovey, and they were much more partners of comfort and reliability than passionate lovers. so how they ended up together, the path and obstacles they faced to finally BE together was fairly justified. everything made sense basically. 8/10
