I'd love Christian and Syed to come back but only as a part of a whole Masood revival. Masood, Zainab, Christian, Syed and the kids would be literally perfect. It would be so good especially with Clenshaw in charge now! It would also be cool to have a middle-aged gay couple who have been together forever and are parents, EE have never really done that before.
This is genuinely exactly what I want. And, you know, while we're at it, bring Jane back. Not only because we'd have Christian, her brother, but also for Bobby. God knows he could use her on his side along with Kathy right now. (And I will never be over the Masood/Jane affair...)
Clenshaw could give us everything. We have three men and a baby going on over in Ballum's flat but give us back our OG's as well. I miss them :(

Avustralya XI: David Warner, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Mitch Marsh, Alex Carey, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins (kaptan), Nathan Lyon, Josh HazlewoodPakistan

Head has been selected as vice captain, and Pakistan will field two debutants
Tumblr media
In Wednesday’s announcement of a playing eleven, captain Pat Cummins stated that Head had been added as a deputy, joining Steve Smith.
In light of the future, Australia’s selectors reappointed Travis Head as vice captain of the Test team on Wednesday. Pakistan, meanwhile, chose two rookies for the opening match in Perth.
In a single alteration from their previous Test match against England at the Oval in July, captain Pat Cummins announced the addition of Head as a deputy alongside Steve Smith.
After that, Todd Murphy will lose his spot to the fit-again veteran spinner Nathan Lyon, who is four wickets away from being a member of the exclusive 500 club.
In what is probably going to be his final Test series, David Warner will start the batting. After a weak performance, he is being closely watched, with many questioning if he should be on the team.
Usman Khawaja, the opening partner, has also gained attention after he tweeted that he will be wearing shoes for the game on Thursday, along with comments that highlighted the situation of the people in Gaza. Now that the International Cricket Council has banned any messages pertaining to politics, religion, or race during matches, it seems unlikely that would occur.
On the eve of the first of three Tests, Cummins told media, “I spoke to him just quickly and he said he won’t be.”
Former Test vice-captain with Cummins under Tim Paine, the well-liked 29-year-old Head has since cemented himself in the team.
“We felt it was a good time to formally recognize that because he’s been a leader in our group for a long time,” said Cummins.
Although neither Cummins nor the 34-year-old Smith have any immediate plans to step down, the captain stated, “I dare say I’m not going to captain forever and Steve is not going to play forever.” Therefore, we believe it is our duty to provide the team with future-proofing and to provide other leaders with opportunity.
In the twelve Test series that Pakistan has toured Australia, it has not emerged victorious.
The most recent captain to try, Shan Masood, included pacemen Aamer Jamal and Khurram Shahzad in his starting lineup to support Shaheen Shah Afridi’s attack.
Prior to Mohammad Rizwan, former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed was chosen as the first-choice wicketkeeper.
Masood stated, “As a squad, we talk about adaptability—how quickly can guys adapt to diverse conditions—whether we play in Canberra, Karachi, or Perth.
For me, that is the most crucial thing. Skilled cricket players are always flexible.

🌙 Books for Arab American Heritage Month 🌙
🌙 Good morning, bookish bats, and Eid Mubarak to those who are celebrating. Eid al-Fitr ("the feast of breaking the fast") marks the end of Ramadan, an Islamic holy month of fasting and sacrifice. April is also Arab American Heritage month, which celebrates the 3.7 million Arab Americans across the country. This is an opportunity to combat Anti-Arab bigotry by challenging stereotypes and prejudices.
✨ One of the best ways to do so is to read books ABOUT Arab Americans. To help, here are a few books for Arab American Heritage Month you can read, discuss, or add to your ever-growing TBR!
[ List under the cut. ]
✨ Growing up, I didn't have books that represented my experiences as an Arab or Muslim American. My friends didn't have stories to read that could help them understand my perspective. [ad_1] Information Technology expert Umar Saif and journalist Murtaza Solangi were among the names added to the caretaker cabinet. They are likely to be given ministries of IT and information respectively. Apart from this, Shamshad Akhtar, Waqar Masood, Ahad Cheema, Tabish Gohar, Ejaz Gohar, Sarfraz Bugti, Muhammad Ali, Aniq Ahmed, Sultan Allana, and Jalil Abbas Jilani’s names were under consideration for different ministries in the interim cabinet. The interim cabinet of Anwaarul Haq Kakar is scheduled to take oath on Thursday (today) at 5pm at the President’s House in Islamabad, according to media sources. Meanwhile, discussions were under way for the final list of the interim cabinet. Kakar was sworn in as the 8th caretaker prime minister on August 14 to see the country through to an election due in months. Many experts have expressed their concerns over timely elections in the country, despite claims of the former ministers. They think the Council of Common Interests’ decision to notify the digital census results has increased the likelihood of not having elections due this year. Earlier this month, former prime minister Shehbaz Sharif confirmed to Aaj News that elections would be held under the latest census results. Raja Riaz, former opposition leader in National Assembly, has claimed that “elders” have decided that elections would be held in February 2024. “Elections will be held a week before or after February 15, 2024,” he said in an interview with private news channel on August 15. “I am giving you this breaking news. I will be responsible if there is any shortcoming.” [ad_2]
