Paris, de République à Nation en passant par Bastille.

Manifestation des femmes contre les violences sexistes et sexuelles. Aussi contre les violences faites aux enfants. Beaucoup de monde. Lorsque l’on voit le dernier fait divers avec un enlèvement et assassinat d’une jeune femme près de Marmande, on se dit que le chemin sera long pour effacer des siècles de domination « coloniale » sur les femmes, qui représentent presque 50% de la population mondiale. Bravo les religions, encore un succès à mettre à votre actif !

Le suspect était déjà connu pour « des faits d’agression sexuelle ». Aujourd’hui on n ‘en sait pas plus.

Des iraniennes dans le cortège, des femmes d’autres continents, le problème est mondial. Avec le réchauffement climatique, il y a du travail à faire sur notre petite planète.

Mais est-ce que l’on prend réellement conscience de ces catastrophes qui arrivent, est-ce que les conférences dans des hôtels de luxe servent à quelque chose ? Sans doute un peu, je ne serais pas plus mauvaise langue !

On pourrait en douter aujourd’hui : à sa mort, en 1962, Georges Bataille reste quasiment inconnu. Quelques dates marqueront sa reconnaissance posthume. On le sait de la décade de Cerisy, en 1973, « Artaud / Bataille, pour une révolution culturelle » [9]. On le sait des deux numéros de la revue L’Arc (fin des années 1960 — début des années 1970). On le sait moins du numéro que la revue Critique a publié dès l’été 1963, soit un an après sa mort, « Hommage à Georges Bataille », que de « plus bruyants », comme dit Francis Marmande, auraient « hissé à hauteur de manifeste ».

C’est dès ce numéro, en effet, que sont mesurées l’ampleur et la diversité de l’apport de Georges Bataille à la littérature et à la pensée. Ce qui n’allait pas de soi : la publication des Oeuvres complètes (12 vol.) ne commencerait que dix ans plus tard, lesquelles porteront enfin au jour un continent inconnu de tous — tant d’écrits oubliés ou inédits ; pas loin sans doute du tiers des textes qu’elles réunissent.

Les contributeurs de ce numéro de Critique ne les ont pas attendues pour en attester déjà. Des écrivains : Raymond Queneau, Michel Leiris, Philippe Sollers ; des écrivains-philosophes : Roland Barthes, Maurice Blanchot, Pierre Klossowski ; des philosophes : Michel Foucault, Jean Wahl ; un ethnologue : Alfred Métraux. À peu près tous les domaines dans lesquels Georges Bataille s’est illustré y sont représentés. On peut tenir ce numéro pour constitutif de la postérité de Bataille ; il l’a déployée et articulée. Tout ce qui s’est écrit depuis cinquante ans que Bataille est mort lui doit plus ou moins.

La contribution de Michel Foucault à ce numéro emblématique de Critique sera décisive : Foucault est certes loin d’avoir encore l’aura des autres contributeurs (ayant alors encore peu de livres à son actif, sinon Histoire de la folie à l’âge classique) ; pour autant, la jeune génération de la philosophie ne pourra pas ignorer que Bataille est aussi un philosophe, et pas seulement un écrivain, comme on sera encore trop longtemps enclin à le penser. Un philosophe d’une étrange sorte, soit ; parmi les plus considérables cependant. On peut le dire aussi simplement : l’analyse élogieuse de Michel Foucault vient corriger celle, stigmatisante, énoncée par Jean-Paul Sartre en 1943, soit 20 ans plus tôt.

Le doublé Brugeais

Aux portes du Médoc, l’entente Bordeaux Bruges Lormont est une place forte du handball avec une offre étendue de pratiques ; depuis sa disparition de la Proligue en fin de saison 2023 pour difficultés financières, l’équipe phare évolue en nationale 1. À Saint-Apollinaire, aux championnats de France de parahandball adapté, l’entente Brugeaise réalise un doublé  : vainqueurs 13-7 des Marmandais, champions en titre depuis 2022, les garçons ont enrichi leur palmarès d’un quatrième trophée après ceux de 2018, 2019 et 2020 ; ils ont été imités par les filles qui s’imposent (6-0) face à l’association Équilibre Valdoie (Territoire de Belfort) et conservent ainsi une hégémonie ininterrompue.

Kitchen Garden Plan For 2024 (Part I)

Here is my Kitchen Garden Plan For 2024! As usual, I started dreaming about it since Mid-Winter!

I actually planted the overgrown, sprouted potatoes much earlier this time, in November! I was so chuffed with the delicious Potato Harvest I had last year, I could not wait to repeat the experiment. And now, in late April, there is a beautifully green and leafy patch in the Lasagna Garden [(Update One) (Update Two) (Update Three) (Update Four)], almost ready for a New Potato harvest!

On late Winter days, when the weather held, I worked a bit on the Veg Patch Extension, tilling. I've been away in New Zealand for most of March, but since returning on the 1st of April, I've generously fed it compost, wood ashes and Leaf Mould. And appropriately, there is a kūmara (sweet potato) growing in the middle of it! Kūmara, which the first Māori who settled in Aotearoa (New Zealand) had brought from their Polynesian Islands and successfully grown in a very different climate is historically and culturally important to Māori iwi, as well as being delicious!

I remain as ambitious as ever, and have decided to try growing courgettes, and more varieties of tomatoes (Marmande and Pineapple).  Whilst last year's purple Beans were a resounding success, the aubergines were not! I have thus sowed them inside, and shall plant their seedlings in a sunnier spot alongside Marigolds and calendula to repel aphids and other pests, and to attract bees and pollinators and make the Patch look pretty!

I have sowed a bunch of other seeds inside this month, in egg boxes, both from packets I bought and seeds I collected (from Red Kuri Squash, Bell Peppers, Chilli Peppers, Butternut Squash and Cantaloupes!)  and I am watching them grow, watering them and tending to them, until it’s warm enough  to plant seedlings and sow seeds in the Kitchen Garden.

This is the Veg Patch part of my Kitchen Garden Plan for 2024. In black, are fruits, herbs, flowers and vegetables grown from seeds (either sown inside and planted as seedlings, or sown directly in the Patch), in blue, vegetables I am growing from scraps, and in red, the date I planted or sowed them outside.
