Research - Hydro Flask
“Hydro Flask is a water bottle brand owned by American conglomerate Helen of Troy Limited. The brand became popular during mid-to-late 2019 and early 2020. Hydro Flask is particularly well known among millennials and zoomers, as well as college students and the "VSCO girl" subculture; social influencers and celebrities, especially on TikTok, increased the brand's popularity.”
This is how its seen to the larger public however Hydro Flask's prominence has played a role in the rising environmental and health consciousness of millennials and zoomers and has influenced the quality and appearance of other reusable water bottles. They created the charity programme ‘Parks For All’ a charitable programme they created to benefit public green spaces and promote happier, healthier lives outdoors for all.
Hydro Flask’s approach to visual identity is very focused on the mark, its what makes the brand so well known and it has been placed on every product they have produced the symbol has changed since it was first introduced, before looking more hand drawn. It now utilises thicker lines creating a more modern feel.
This Hydro Flask advertisement that was created for Instagram stories is quite iconic proving that Instagram stories had become one of the strongest-performing placements for Hydro Flask. the advertisement doesn't consist of a lot of text just using 3 words through out it ‘Mountains’ ‘Coast’ and ‘Desert’. But the use of these words is just enough to show off that the product can be used within a range of environments showing off its talents. This combined with the beautiful imagery created by illustration and colour attracts the attention of the viewer making it more likely that they will stay and look through the story.
