from December after GPF
Zach talks about skating during the day, practicing piano 7-10 pm daily when he has a competition. Marjo about how she's been trying to get the ISU to take "professional actress" off her bio for a while, but she still hears it at every 5 minute warmup 馃槄

Season鈥檚 Best scores for all medal winners!
I鈥檓 happy for Marjo and Zach and Lola and Nik who skated their hearts out.
Pissed Christina and Anthony are being criminally underscored, so USFSA can pretend Green/Parsons are better. AND WHY?????!!!!!!!

Note
they never said they wouldn't be doing nationals tho
Thanks to Tessa and Scott, Skate Canada made it so you had to be assigned to a 2019 Grand Prix event. This effectively cancels them out.

I watched Dubreuil/Lauzon when they competed, and I disliked many of their lifts, because the connection points often looked unsafe/dangerous. I can't enjoy a program if I'm thinking "oh, what if she slips out of his hand?"
oof, and she did, at the biggest competition of their career. yikes. did they have other mishaps besides their Olympics? not that many of their programs are online. maybe i enjoy that their lifts look different from this era of ice dance, though VM have mentioned MFP's lifts as standouts, too. it doesn't feel like that precariousness has translated to their teaching - do you see any lifts that feel unsafe in the teams they coach?
the teams who do balance lifts that require really precise control from both partners always make me wonder how delicate that line is. hearing in that LaLa interview that Zak hates lifts, that Marjo liked their Rio stationary lift because it was "easy" and that some lifts take them multiple seasons (three!) to learn- i know they tend to repeat lifts and that it's not necessarily their strongest point, but i was still a little surprised at all that.
CPom's combo lift in their FD was a work in progress all season, but their handstand lift was such a statement, and the other IAMO teams had some good lifts and looked improved this season in their lifting as well that it seems like Scott and Adrian and Madi are good at teaching them. Scott certainly was one of the best lifters of all time, and VM had some spectacular lifts. Adrian was an excellent lifter, Madi and Zach had lifts that required incredible strength and balance. would be curious if a stretch of work at IAMO would do LaLa good with their lifts

Feel like Marjo and Zach are going for camp with their rd but I don鈥檛 vibe with the music + choreo combination we shall see how it develops throughout the season.

If you鈥檙e Soucisse/Firus, what do you do now? It doesn鈥檛 look like the move to Carol Lane was a blockbuster, and Marjo and Zach are growing in the right ways.
It鈥檚 going to sound mean but I鈥檓 not trying to be mean, simply honest - if they are skating for the medals and Olympic/World spots they should probably give it a season or two at best and then retire. If they are skating for fun and have a way to fund it they can keep going as much as they want.聽
The thing with S/F is that they are extremely limited in terms of interpretation, and I mean extremely and they are really limited in terms of technical abilities (their levels remain atrocious...). So not sure much can be done tbh, even if Carol Lane and Co. will help them get their levels we all know that it鈥檚 not nearly enough...聽

@effervescentparker my thumbs were not cooperating with me and I ended up accidentally deleting your ask about lajoie & lagha and Cpom. Oopsies 馃槵. So I鈥檒l give it a second shot as a post. I really like lajoie lagha. I adore their Warsaw concerto FD. I think they have a lot of potential. They are pretty evenly matched. I think Marjo is a star. She has great skating skills and performs the heck out of everything. There is a bit of a disparity in their performance levels. Zach gets so into the performance that he forgets to emote sometimes lol. But he has really improved his performance skills in the past season. I respect the fact that they are constantly improving by strides. They have great spins and twizzles. And their stationary lift that they鈥檝e been using the past two years is the bomb. The postision Marjorie gets is stunning. They do seem to struggle with levels and can lack refinement earlier in the season but they almost always get to where they want to be by the second half of the season which is a rare quality. Their programs have been hit or miss for me though but overall I enjoy what they bring to the table Cpom- I鈥檓 not their biggest fan but they both bring a lot to their partnership. they compliment each other pretty well. Anthony has super solid skating skills. Christina doesn鈥檛 have the greatest of skating skills but she holds herself well in lifts which is such an underrated attribute and she鈥檚 a stronger performer than Anthony. Their senior programs have missed the mark for me and they seem to be struggling to find a niche and also don鈥檛 really seem to be connected to any of their recent programs (aside from maybe their tango) which can effect how skaters preform. they are young so they still have time improve on all of those things. They have also been been pretty error prone in the past few seasons. Overall they鈥檙e just not my cup of tea. I鈥檇 love to see them with a program that they can really connect with though, that was the case with WE and it seemed to have a lot more ease and refinement.
