Mob Psycho Characters Playing Minecraft (Headcanons)
Shigeo
He starts with creative mode, just to get the gist of it, before finally heading into survival but on peaceful. Then he’ll do survival easy mode and just stay on that tier forever, until he feels more confident to up his game a little higher.
Only played because Telepathy club was playing and he heard the word “Mob” and was like; “Did you call me?” and the club goes “nah fam, it Minecraft.” “what’s Minecraft.” Boom he plays.
Most likely to have a farm with a lot of cows
Has a dirt house/villager’s house on the first night and stops at just that.
Not much of a great builder
Takes forever to get diamonds
Dies often, but not too much. Just often enough for him to lose a few good iron pickaxes.
Always goes to bed once it’s night.
Most likely to have a pet cat
He just plays for fun, when he’s bored and stuff. So he doesn’t go as far as to defeating the ender dragon. He’ll travel to the nether though, just for potion making
But he does play a heck more when Teru’s around, or when the Telepathy club invites him.
He awaits for a frog update
Reigen
Jumps into survival hardcore right off the bat after watching one play through
Most likely to have a villager colony and farm
Makes a wooden house with windows and stuff on the first night with a furnace and a crafting table and a bed. The essentials. But he won’t stay in one house often and will move a lot
He can build, but he’s pretty amateur at it, he’s a fast learner though so he could easily replicate houses he see online
He’s the type of guy that never stops mining until he finds diamonds, which means he makes sure he’s at 13-11y in coordinates, has a shit ton of extra pickaxes, and stacks upon stacks of torches. Once he finds them goodies, he heads on home and repeats the cycle
He’ll defeat the ender dragon if he’s bored enough or when someone challenges/pays him to.
Same goes with The Wither
Will skip Minecraft sleep very often and will only go to bed when the phantom starts attacking
Most likely to have many many pet dogs, each one of them have name tags.
When he dies, he gets mad for a few hours, then jumps right back in. He doesn’t die all that often though, so he won’t rage quit.
He gets the minecraft books later on and you can see him reading it under his table time to time
Ritsu
He starts off with easy or normal without much knowledge on the game, probably only played because Shigeo introduced him to or Shou bugged him about it.
He’ll have a farm, but just for resources. Won't have much animals, mostly crops. He’ll live next to a village if there is one.
His first house will also be a dirt house, he’ll improve it overtime and add more levels and decorations. It can get very pretty in the end and he’ll be content to just stay and keep adding more to his house.
Not the best builder, but good enough for people to compliment it. He feels especially proud when Shigeo likes them, so he’s keen on building better and more.
He plans before he mines, calculates how many torches he needs and plans out what he’s exactly looking for, even calculates how many hunger bars each food item will fill before taking it with him.
If he gets really into the game, he’ll defeat the ender dragon, wither and head on into the nether. Not in that order though.
Will sleep if he doesn’t need to do anything
Most likely to have pets, perhaps a cat, or a dog, or a parrot. Only one though.
When he dies, he accepts it and moves on. Though, that would rarely happen.
Recently got into a forced Minecraft marriage with Shou. Is it forced if he enjoyed it though?
Teru
This bitch really just gonna jump right into survival just to flex on Shigeo.
Duh, of course he’ll have a farm. Will probably talk to the animals.
His first house is either borrowed from a villager or built with wood, but it’ll definitely not be a simple ass wooden house. It will be a nice fucking mansion, just watch him, he will. He’ll fight all the mobs he needs to just to built this mansion right off the bat, doesn’t even care if the first night he sleeps roofless.
Really good at building, because he wants to compete with Ritsu for fun and boast about it to Shigeo. Shigeo would just clap and be like “Wow so cool.”
“Thanks, made it myself, I can make one for you.” Shigeo declines, he’s an independent man, which makes Teru a mixture of disappointment and oh-my-god-you’re-adorable???
He doesn't plan when he mines, he just estimates and half ass some stuff before he struts into the cave. Sometimes he gets lost, but that’s perfectly fine.
Will defeat every mob boss and mob ever to show Shigeo he’s very powerful.
Doesn’t sleep, fights the phantom instead. Will sleep if Shigeo asks him to.
Most likely to have a pet cat, but he doesn’t mind dogs.
When he dies, he’s an angry baby and makes up some excuse as to why he’s dead. “I was distracted, didn’t see the lava. Whoops I guess ha ha no big deal.” But it is a big deal, he lost his diamonds, he wants to give it to his boyfriend but he cannot. Because he died.
Has yet to marry Shigeo in Minecraft.
Shou
Plays because he is a gamer. Survival hardcore ftw. He only plays multiplayer with Ritsu these days, never single player because he has been playing Minecraft his whole childhood and it gets boring on his own.
What’s a fucking farm? I take my food from my Minecraft husband.
Sleeps in a cave, but if Ritsu’s done with the house, he joins his bed with him and sleeps under a roof.
But he’s really really good at building, probably the best next to Serizawa. If you gave him the resources and time, he can recreate Seasoning City.
A concerning miner, jumps in with just torches and a pickaxe and somehow still survives (mostly because Ritsu always goes looking for him)
Could probably easily defeat the bosses because he has already done it so many times
Will only sleep when Ritsu is, which is almost all the time.
He owns every kind of animal.
He dies too many times because he really doesn’t mind, it makes Ritsu mad and that’s what keeps him going.
Shou was suffocated in sand.
“S H O U.” Ritsu yells at the boy next to him.
Was the one that proposed to Ritsu, invited everyone to the wedding; including Serizawa and Reigen.
Serizawa
Played while he was still hiding in his home, so he knows everything about the game when he finally played it with Reigen or the kids.
He loves farming, even the animals, it’s oddly calming to take care of something that won’t die unless he hits em.
He always collects resources first before he actually starts building a home, so he always sleeps in a cave or a villager’s house.
After years of experience, he became really good at building, he use to spend time recreating maps from other games. But he says Shou is better than him, the boy disagrees.
Yeah he mines, but he’s wary of dying when he heads into the cave, so he always brings too many torches.
Makes sure he is very very prepared before defeating bosses
Always sleeps in time, because Reigen said so. Well, because Reigen advised it, what a hypocrite am I right?
Doesn’t have pets, and even if he does, he always make them stay put at one place.
Doesn’t die all that often, almost not at all.
He pretends to not be good at the game when Reigen’s around, he mostly lets the other do what they wanna do because he loves watching his husband play.
“Serizawa! Look, I made the zombie villager back into a villager!” Reigen pointed, Serizawa smiles and nods. He already knew how to do that, but Reigen’s discovery makes it feel he discovered something new himself.
Tome
Bro this woman is so experienced to a point everyone consults her for tips.
She’s building up to find aliens in minecraft, even though they don’t exist, but she’s convinced they’re an easter egg or something.
No, she doesn’t farm. She takes em from the villagers, but she has a few beehives here and there.
She’s only mining to find diamonds as a peace offering to minecraft aliens.
One time she thought the Wither was an alien.
One time, she thought the phantom was an alien.
One time she thought the ghast was an alien.
Has died multiple times because she is careless, but she is never upset about it. Always jumps right back into the game immediately.
Parrots are her pets, because they f l y and d a n c e.
One time she thought the creepers were aliens.
She has this summoning circle made of redstone and torches in case there really are aliens.
She believes in herobrine and sometimes tries to summon him.
She thinks the aliens made the temples in minecraft.
Other Characters
Minegishi has so many bees and flowers and crops it’s almost covering the whole map.
Takenaka plays because it’s very quiet and calming
Shimazaki cannot play. He is blind.
Shou’s old resistance team use to play with him, now they sometimes play together as a trio when Shou is playing with Ritsu.
Mukai and Tsuchi play because Mukai wanted to, she has a lot of armor stands in her house.
Tsubomi does not play, she played once and didn’t enjoy it all that much, but she’s perfectly happy watching her friends play.
Emi roleplays in minecraft.
Mezato doesn’t play, but she likes watching minecraft videos on youtube, mostly the theories.
Everyone in the awakening lab plays, Kurosaki is fantastic at mining because she always knows which way are the mobs and which way are the diamonds. Asahi is an arsonist.
Minori once got invited by Shigeo to play, then she proceeded to buy minecraft and everything in it to impress him. Shigeo only congratulated her once. Contemplating buying the whole of Mojang, but she’s a good girl now so she won’t.
Hoshida plays to impress Tome. Too bad, son, she’s not into you.

For the prompts, how about 72, "You deserve so much better.”? And congrats again on passing the exam!!!
Tumblr media
@creativeoutlook
THANK YOU SO MUCH GUYS <3 I ended up combining these two prompts because they worked super well together and ended up with a 1.5k monster drabble. I hope you enjoy it!!
For the dialogue prompts “You deserve so much better” and “I got you a present.”
--
When Teru wakes up early in the morning on April 13th, the apartment is silent and dark.
Like it always is.
He should be used to it. It shouldn’t bother him anymore. Most days he can pretend it doesn’t, that everything’s fine, that he’s fine, and most days he can even convince himself that it’s true.
But today’s his birthday, and the loneliness of facing another day alone weighs him down into his mattress with leaden limbs and a growing pressure behind his eyelids.
It’s mornings like this that he lets himself dwell, just for a few minutes, on what he used to have. To waking up on his birthday to smiling faces and whispered congratulations, to an extra special breakfast and the promise of yakiniku after school, to a day of happiness instead of isolation.
He almost skips school. He knows no one will even remember it’s his birthday anyway, and why should they? He’s fifteen now, way too old to care so much about something so stupid.  It shouldn’t bother him. He’s Hanazawa Teruki. He’s a straight-A student with awesome fashion sense and enough maturity to hold a part-time job on the side. How many of his peers could claim the same? Almost none of them, that’s who.
He forces himself out of bed and doesn’t bother making breakfast at all. He’ll pick up a sweet bun of some sort at a convenience store instead, maybe a coffee with extra cream. Some cake on the way home. He’d normally make it himself, but, well.
He doesn’t really have the energy to bother today.
 --
The apartment is as cold and empty as Teru’d left it, and for once he doesn’t care enough to put away his schoolbag. He leaves it on the ground, his uniform in a heap next to it instead of carefully hung in the closet, and sets the slice of cake he’d picked up at a bakery on the table.
He checks his phone for what has to be the hundredth time so far. Nothing. Of course. He shouldn’t feel so hurt by this – what did he expect, really? It’s not like his parents had remembered the year before, either.
Sorry we forgot! Happy belated birthday!
Not even a phone call. Just a six-word text two days late.
Teru almost turns off his phone entirely. He’s just riling himself up with all this pointless anticipation. Instead he compromises, setting it on the table within easy reaching distance while he queues up an old home video on his laptop.
The cake is stunning. White cream with meticulously crafted yellow and pink flowers, perfectly baked and spongy. It tastes like ash.
When his ringtone suddenly breaks the silence, Teru knocks what’s left of the cake to the ground in his haste to grab the phone. He fumbles, almost swipes in the wrong direction and breathlessly says, “Hello?” without even checking the caller ID.
“Oh, hey, Teru! It’s Reigen,” the caller says cheerily, and for the first time in his life Teru can’t stand the sound of his voice. Why him? Why did it have to be him? He knows he’s being unreasonable, unfair. He really looks up to Reigen, and normally getting calls from him is the highlight of his day.
But Reigen’s not the one Teru was hoping would be on the other end of the line.
“…able to help me out with an exorcism job today? Shouldn’t take long, but Mob was busy and couldn’t make it… Hello? Teru? Are you there?”
“I’ll be over in fifteen minutes,” Teru says, and he hangs up before Reigen can respond. It’s a little petty, but whatever. It’s his birthday, he can be petty for once if he wants to be.
 --
The office is dark when Teru walks up, and he regrets hanging up on Reigen now. He was probably supposed to meet Reigen at another location, and now he’s letting him down. All that pettiness Teru was holding onto washes away with a wave of regret. What if Reigen doesn’t call him again after this because he thinks Teru’s unreliable? Teru was acting like a kid. He’s fifteen, he should be able to control himself better. He’s still reprimanding himself as he tests the office door.
It’s unlocked.
Reigen never leaves the office unlocked when he’s out, but the lights were off. The world narrows down around him, and he pushes open the door, dread and apprehension lodging in his throat as he peers into the office ready to employ defensive measures at any moment –
“Surprise!” an assortment of voices yell, and power is already sparking at Teru’s fingertips by the time what he’s seeing registers.
Shigeo and Ritsu are standing behind Reigen’s desk where they’d been hiding. They’re both smiling with so much enthusiasm, Shigeo’s lack of reservation so refreshing and bright. Shou is lounging on the couch, grinning widely and holding what looks like an explosion of wrapping paper. Tome lets loose a party popper, sending a spray of rainbow confetti.
“Happy birthday!” she yells with a dramatic spin, snapping something off the couch and dumping it onto Teru’s head. He reaches up in a daze, touching the smooth plastic of a party hat.
Reigen and Serizawa are here too. They’re standing off to the side, both smiling at him with matching proud expressions.
“Happy birthday, Teru,” Reigen says. He holds up a box impeccably wrapped in bright paper. “I got you a present.” Teru can see tiny white scuff marks on the paper where the tape had been removed more than once, indicating a less-than-perfect start to the wrapping process. It’s just a little bit wrinkled where the paper has been refolded.
It must have taken ages to get right.
“We all did!” Shou chips in, launching himself over the back of the couch with a much more… creatively wrapped box. Teru just stares dumbly at it until Shou practically forces it into his hands. “Come on, dude, take it. It’s for you. You’d better like it.”
Outwardly, Teru recovers quickly, even as he reels internally. “You guys didn’t have to go to all this trouble,” he says, and he means it. The more he looks around, the more he realizes just how much work went into all of this. The entire office is done up with streamers, a lopsided banner hanging over the window that declares Happy Birthday Teru in painstakingly handwritten letters. There’s a homemade cake on the coffee table, unevenly cut strawberries set in a mostly-circular pattern in the frosting. It’s listing slightly to one side. It looks like the best cake Teru’s ever seen.
This was all for him. They spent all this time for him.
Teru’s phone is a deadweight in his pocket. He’s spent all day with his hand hovering near it, just in case one of his parents actually bothered to call. He’s been waiting for so long for any sign of love from them without anything, not even a text.
He slips a hand into his pocket and holds in the power button to shut it down.
 --
It’s dark outside by the time everyone goes home. Shigeo and Ritsu are the first to go, followed closely by Shou and Tome when Reigen not-so-subtly reminds her of the curfew her parents set. Serizawa’d left to get a pack of trash bags, Reigen’s meager stock having been almost immediately depleted.
“Did you have a good time?” Reigen asks as he wipes a glob of frosting off the table. Teru waves a finger and confetti flies up from the ground, spiraling neatly into the trashcan. His spare hand absently fingers the soft material of the bright green sweatshirt Reigen had gotten him. It has a big decal of a dog across the front, and if Teru’s being honest it’s not quite his style.
It’s too warm out to be wearing it, but he doesn’t really care. He doesn’t ever want to take it off.
“Yeah,” Teru says. It’s quiet now that almost everyone’s gone, and he chews the inside of his mouth nervously. “You really didn’t need to do all of this. I didn’t mean to put you all out like this.”
Reigen stares at him, almost incredulously. It melts away almost immediately into one of understanding, and he offers an only partially convincing smile. “You were alone, though, right?”
Teru freezes, and he searches Reigen’s expression for any sign of pity. He can feel the defensiveness already rising up, emotions still raw from the earlier hours of the day. “I’m used to it. It doesn’t bother me,” he says.
Reigen isn’t smiling, but he’s not pitying, either. He reaches over and pulls Teru into a loose hug, giving Teru plenty of time to back away first. Teru doesn’t resist.
“You deserve so much better,” Reigen murmurs into Teru’s hair. He tightens his hold, and after a few seconds Teru reaches up and hugs him back, fingers curling into the fabric of Reigen’s shirt.
Teru knows he’ll never stop wishing it was his parents here with him, telling him that he mattered. But he’s got Reigen, and Shigeo, and all the others, and for now that’s enough.

clara!! or teru mobbedpsycho
omg hehe ill do both bc i love them both so much : )
clara!
How I feel about this character
oh my god, i LOVE her? i love her so much. literally my favorite healer. her route is literally the best.
its just like. shes SO fun. shes so weird and shes so funny and i just love love love how shes written. i love that in the beginning of her own route shes like.. literally Just a little girl. like getting worried bc she told the first lie in her life ,,, its just like shes so cute. i love her and shes soooo funny oh my god. i love love love how through her route she becomes more confident with herself and her path, it seems... just like everything is so good about her.
i love her place in the game as well... shes the youngest, definitely the one who you’d probably trust the least to do a good job, and just so ... she’s so weird! i love that she is the character who becomes the sort of meta character, where the developers Know you’ve gone thru everything twice, we’re now just going to let her know all you need. plus, i fucking LOVE her powers with the hook - thats a trope i just love so much...
i love her black and white mentality? its just so interesting... i love how the world warps in her route, where people are especially evil, or are especially good. and i love. i LOVE that she’s put with all of the humbles... like i just love everything about her SO much ...
All the people I ship romantically with this character
oh, as ive said: grace!! i find their relationship incredibly cute, especially with how clara says how much she likes her in her route... plus! weird (graveyard) girls unite :) idk, i just feel like they complement each other very well, and would understand each other very well! its very cute!
to a much lesser degree, i also find capella and clara cute, but i dont have quite as many thoughts on it.
My non-romantic OTP for this character (im just interpreting this as other relationships i find interesting)
omg, so many, um ,,,
firstly, the saburovs! i think more about katerina just because of who i am, but i love thinking of if they were like . . . an actually good family. idk, its just like if the saburovs weren’t In That Situation... maybe, just maybe they would be better? they obviously care about clara very very much, as shown in those first few days... idk, i just love the idea of good families 😔
secondly, like almost every relationship she has with the humbles, or what potential relationship she’ll have in p2 now that some of them have been reworked. i cant go through the whole list because ill be here all day, but especially rubin and her relationship; the connection she has with aspity; im interested in how the others will be reworked and how they’ll interact with clara just... ayugh i love all of the  humbles so much!
thirdly, um. okay not to be a termite stan but thinking of her relationship with some of the termites is super interesting... in particular, as ive said, grace and her seem like they could very well be very good friends if not gfs, and sticky! theyre both thieves ... i feel like it can be very interesting, though i doubt they would be really close hsdjkgjk still! i just love thinking of her potential relationship with the other kids.
fourthly, also aglaya because of her connection with clara, with knowing. Everything about their world is so interesting. plus, just how aglaya treats her is so... interesting? shes just SO different in clara’s route, its so interesting...
and lastly, as i said: her relationship with block! i dont have too many thoughts, but i find his care for her very very interesting and sweet... im interested in how their relationship will be expanded upon in her route!
wait no im still adding things: her relationship with the albino! idk i just find her relationship with the creature of the steppe so sweet... its just like the bond between them its just so nice and it makes me so 💖thinking about it in her route...
My unpopular opinion about this character
clara best healer! clara’s route is the best! i hate it when people only use her for their daniil/artemiy ship shit! she doesnt give a shit about them! stop pushing her off to the side! her route is unfinished, yes, thats really only the side quests from day 8 on! the main quest is always different! just play her route! shes not just some weird person who only speaks in metaphors, shes also a little girl!  i love clara very much!
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
oh, hmm... her route to be finished, and actually full of details? ghdsjkgj really though, i remember people saying that they might go for a genre shift with the other two routes in p2, and i think her’s being more horror would be SO cool... i also hope that we can hug people in her route as well, oh my god. oh my god. please let me hug the saburovs.
-------
teruki!
How I feel about this character
i LOVE teru! hes absolutely, 100%, completely my favorite mp100 character. hes such a huge comfort character to me as well its just like i looveee his character. hes so SO funny and hes so dumb but also hes like SO smart and. hes SOOOO smart and i just can relate to him a lot! who am i but a constant string of “oh yeah im very smart and i can do this amazingly” and then almost immediately being followed by someone showing me up,
plus, i feel like hes just my favorite character archetype. its just like! i am such a huuugeeee fan of characters showing off and trying to act big but are hiding behind a ton of insecurities. or well, maybe not quite hiding behind them, but having a lot of them. after all i think teru truly is just Like That, though his actions in his arc were heavily motivated by these insecurities... idk i just love him so much. hes just really relatable to me in some aspects and in all others i just find so fun. hes such a great character!
All the people I ship romantically with this character
oh, mob ofc! i dont think about the ship all that much, but i think its rlly cute, and i definitely feel like teru has a lot of love in his heart for mob! its rlly nice and can be very sweet c:
My non-romantic OTP for this character (im just interpreting this as other relationships i find interesting)
mob! once again i just think their friendship is just really nice, and i love how much teru cares for mob! plus theyre so funny gdhksjjg idk theyre just a fun team!! i love them!! i dont have many other thoughts, as i feel like their relationship is explored constantly, and i dont have many new thoughts to bring to the table. i just love it when their shown in a fun light c:
also, now idk if ive ever given this vibe off but, i LOVE found families, so i looveeee love love the au where reigen and serizawa take in shou, tome, and teru! like even outside of the au, i feel like a friendship with shou would be so nice? its just like the shared familial issues 😔plus i think theyd be hilarious together. no matter what i see them as having a more brotherly relationship! i like especially thinking about them playing games together, and same with tome! which like tome, oh my god i feel like theyd be so fun together and just the thought of them as siblings sounds like it could very very easily go badly because of clashing personalities but idk... i just feel like it could also be really nice and fun :) i love thinking about the sibling relationships in mp100 so much because theyre all just so fun characters and it feels like it can always result in such a fun and not like... angsty atmosphere. like i can just see them as being actual siblings, and its nice!
also, reigen ofc! i mentioned that i like the idea of reigen taking him in, though i think reigen might not be a . . . great parental figure. but i just really like the found familyness of it... plus, okay, this is going to be obvious since im such a teru stan, but the one omake where reigen takes them all out for a “client” but it just is reigen trying to give them all a fun summer day because teru mentioned how his family doesnt ever really see him... oh my god its about That. just an adult figure caring for teru makes me happy and thats why i love their relationship so much.
also, i have much less thoughts about this (or at least now i do), but the idea of teru and ritsu being friends sounds so funny. like i dont have many thoughts on it; its all mainly this comic on them
My unpopular opinion about this character
hmmm, i think all of my opinions are echoed by the people in my corner of the fandom, but one i can think of is like just about Every take on his fashion sense is so cold, besides the one thats like “hes a rich teenager living on his own and thats why his fashion sense is like that.” like he obviously cares about his own appearance, but aahkdshjkg i dont think its like so much as so many people put on him. also for  the love of god focus on his other interests other than fashion for once,
idk, i think most of my opinions boil down to “i dont like what hes been reduced to/what the fandom always focuses on for him.”
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
oh, hm! i wish they hadnt cut out the one scene in s2 (around the beginning of the world domination arc, at teru’s apartment) where teru basically shows off his powers and how much hes grown and knows... i get Why they cut it out, but, as far as i remember, its such a good part of his character i wish they had kept in!
i also hope that they add a little extra of him in s3 since i feel like they will have  more time left over ... 👉👈
send me a character :)

while on the topic of my slime rancher au, i remember discussing w someone in my discord server abt it n we’ve expanded it p far. the few things i remember from the discussion.
tome, teru, shou, ritsu, and mob all have youtube channels dedicated to the game. the four didn’t find out about mob’s channel until he uploaded a hide and seek video to it, and the gang went absolutely ape
mob likes to draw his own thumbnails sometimes instead of taking screenshots. ritsu recognized the art as his brother’s but assumed mob was just making some extra money by drawing for some youtubers
in mob’s videos, there was no voice over or recording of his voice. it was just text tutorials on how to do, find, or get to certain places in slime rancher. the first time he did a voice reveal was the time he uploaded the slime rancher hide and seek video
when the boys play hide and seek, mob and tome are usually the best hiders out of the 5 ranchers. teru is always found first. mob likes to hide in high up places that you’d probably need a jetpack to get to. tome likes to hide in high up places too, but she doesn’t hide there as often as mob does unless all her lower ground spots had been given away or already used.
teru usually gets caught first because he hides in the same place and in plain sight almost every round
at some point, it frustrated mob to the point where he went “TERU, YOU’VE HID THERE FOR THE PAST 6 ROUNDS”. ritsu finds teru immediately after that
other times when the gang are playing hide and seek, mob will let teru hide with him. once everyone else got caught, mob shoots a chicken towards one of them and they have no idea where it came from since their render distance is on low. tome is quick to assume it’s aliens and immediately gets distracted while ritsu and shou are looking around in a panic. they didn’t find the two that round
teru brings mob lots of gifts and even brings mob honey slimes and plorts along with their favorite fruit (mob still thinks its all in a friend sort of way)
"hey kageyama-kun! i brought you some heart beets in a totally platonic best friend sort of way :)” *proceeds to give him 50 heart beets*
“thanks hanazawa-kun. personally, i like cuberries, but i appreciate the gift :)”
mob logged in the next day to find 3 new gardens had been built and all were growing cuberries. mob still has no idea it was teru who’d left the gift.
it’s rare to see mob and teru apart from each other. they like to explore areas and collect things with each other
sometimes during ritsu or shou’s videos, in the foreground, you can hear mob and teru (flirting) talking to one another. at some point, shou and ritsu get really quiet so they can listen in on the conversation and expectedly catch a flushed teru.
tome likes to plant tar slimes in ritsu’s ranch when he’s away
“TOME, WHAT THE FUCK”
*trying not to giggle* “what”
“WHY ARE THERE TAR SLIMES IN MY RANCH-- AAAA--”
shou and ritsu are the ones with the most deaths currently in the game, mainly because they keep falling off cliffs and edges.
once shou was trying to get a screencap of the sunrise down by the docks and fell off. ritsu laughed at him and then fell off right after. shou got an absolute kick out of it, but ritsu was pissed because he had a hunter slime with him in his inventory. ritsu didn’t cheer up until shou brought him a golden plort and another hunter slime
since mob’s favorite map is the wilds, teru took mob there and attempted to confess his feelings for him.
they were supposed to be alone but ritsu and shou had been in the call for quite some time trying to stay quiet for as long as possible. while trying not to laugh up a storm at teru becoming a flustered mess in front of a very flustered mob, shou sneezes and scares the absolute shit out of teru
ritsu let his laughs rip and teru spent the next 30 minutes yelling and chasing them around
mob accepted the confession in the end and the two started a new farm with each other for when they wanted to play alone
tome joined somewhere in the middle of all the yelling and chasing and had no absolute idea what the hell was happening, but laughed at the three boys anyway
sometimes takenaka likes to join them, but he doesnt really do anything but hoard rock and hunter slimes
serizawa plays sometimes too, but rarely. seri doesn’t know much about the game (or even understand it), but he’s supportive and willing to play it with the kids anyway
teru and ritsu are constantly competing with each other, and sometimes ritsu tries to out gift teru by trying to leave as many quantum plorts as he can beside the plort machine. most of them usually end up despawning though
mob is often quiet while playing, but sometimes when he falls off cliffs or loses something, you’ll hear him go “motherfucker” or “fuck” into the mic
at some point, reigen was standing outside his door when he heard mob say fuck and nearly choked to death on his water.
sometimes the group will play with each other until late in the night
“did kageyama-kun fall asleep?”
“mm. let me check” there’s a 10 second pause before ritsu comes back “yeah”
teru found it cute. the two were very quiet and careful after that, trying not to disturb mob
shou ruins that at some point though and joins the call screaming “WHAT’S UP GAMERS”. it scared mob so bad he almost hit his head on the corner of his monitor
shou likes to scare ritsu by shooting radiation slimes at him
ritsu absolutely hates it because it gets him every time

Title: Still Developing
Fandom: Mob Psycho 100
Pairing: serirei
Words: 2618
After a year and a half, I finally went and wrote a fic to go with this post.
I’m not very experienced with creative writing but I had fun with this! I hope you guys like it and any constructive criticism would be appreciated :]
To clear up any confusion, Keiko is a character that shows up in the Reigen manga and Amane is just someone I made up.
“You have to see my kids!” Reigen exclaimed as he fwipped out a chain of photos from his wallet.
All the photos were clearly taken with a disposable camera: Mob wincing from the flash… Ritsu scowling and covering his face… Teru with a serious case of red-eye… an extremely blurry Shou… somehow the quality kept getting worse.
“Oh they’re all yours?” the client said, more exclamation than question. About ten middle schoolers, understandably, seemed like a lot.
“Well I just mentor some of them, although I do consider them all part of the family.” Reigen folded photos back into his wallet as he asked, “So now, which course are you interested in?”
The client took a moment to think, “I guess I’ll take the all-out course.”
“Ah, good choice!” Reigen smiled as he took the 12,000 yen. The client had indeed chosen the most expensive course, all according to plan.
“Are you still telling clients we’re your kids?” Tome strode into the room, placing her school bag down on one of the sofas in the office, “That lady I just passed by seemed a little overly friendly.”
“Well I-”
“You know someone’s going to see right through you one day. They’ll wonder why a 29-year-old single man has adopted so many middle schoolers and you won’t have anything to say. You won’t be able to get out of that one. You’ll be revealed as some weirdo who hangs out with a bunch of teenagers.” She walked up to Reigen’s desk, placing her hands on top of it and stooping down to eye level. “And that’s why you should pretend to be married to Serizawa, it would clear up a lot of questions.”
Reigen stared, eyebrows raised, as Tome stood and put her hands on her hips, looking satisfied with herself. Ever since she’d started officially working at spirits and such, she’d been trying to make little “improvements” wherever she could. Tome also just liked to mess with Reigen. Waving his hand dismissively Reigen said, “That’s not necessary. And I’m pretty sure that would raise a lot more questions.”
Tome narrowed her eyes at him, still looking smug, “Uh huh, sure. Well you should at least use a better picture of me! I’m only half in frame in that one. If you're going to use me for profit, I should at least get a say in how."
“I’ll think about it if you- “
Creeeak, the door opened and in walked Serizawa. “Hey everyone,” he said with a warm smile. Suddenly Reigen’s heart was caught in his throat.
Tome smirked at Reigen as he gave her a look that said don’t you dare.
“H-hey Serizawa, it’s been a slow day so there’s not much to do. I think Tome needs help with her homework, though.” Reigen was hoping to distract her, but on second thought maybe it was risky to put the two of them together.
“Sure! I need to study for a quiz today, so we can help each other.”
“Only if Reigen helps me with my salt aim later!” Tome yelled as she and Serizawa found a space to sit and work.
Crisis averted? Reigen turned back to his laptop and continued “working” (browsing twitter). He started tapping his foot subconsciously as he kept glancing toward Serizawa and Tome every few minutes. At some point, Serizawa’s eyes met his and he smiled awkwardly as he started tapping his foot faster. Oh, that’s definitely audible. Serizawa didn’t seem to notice, though, and smiled back before continuing some math explanation he was giving Tome.
Serizawa was always willing to help wherever he could, it was… admirable. He said that Tome and he helped each other equally and that explaining concepts to each other helped them both. You could tell that he really cared about her and that he wanted to see her succeed.
It went on like this for a few hours until Tome suddenly got up and said, “Oh it’s almost time for my date with Keiko.”
“You ready for your first date?” Serizawa asked.
“I think so…” Tome wrung her hangs together.
“You’ll do great! I’m sure you and Keiko will have a good time together.”
Reigen gave a thumbs up as he said, “How could you go wrong with my signature romance tips?”
“You just read a trashy magazine article to me.”
“It’s the thought that counts, right?”
“Alright, I’m gonna head out. See you guys tomorrow.”
“Wait, before you go,” Reigen got up and crossed over to Tome, placing his hands on her shoulders, “About the photos… you know I actually do care about you and everyone else right? I told that woman that I consider you all part of the family and I meant it. I know I’m not the most open person, but I just want you to know that I care about you and want the best for you.”
Tome rolled her eyes and brushed him off.  “Yeah okay dad,” she said sarcastically as she reached for the door.
She paused a moment, then turned around to envelope both Reigen and Serizawa in a hug. “Yeah I care about you guys too.”
Serizawa patted her head, “Good luck on your date, make sure to let us know how it goes.”
“Okay, I will.” She smiled and left.
Serizawa turned to Reigen, “Well that was sweet.”
“She’s certainly full of surprises.”
“Seems you’re full of surprises too.” Serizawa said, catching Reigen from the corner of his eye.
“Don’t give me that look,” Reigen chuckled, “It’s just that… I’ve messed up before with Mob and I… I want to be a better friend and mentor and… all that. You know?”
“I can understand that.”
“Yeah so… anyway, you have to go to class soon don’t you? How much more time you got?”
“You think you can get rid of me that easily? Well… you can actually, it is time for me to go.”
“Well dang. Good luck with that quiz today, I know you’ve got it.”
“Thanks.” Serizawa reached out to touch Reigen’s shoulder. Reigen instinctively went in for a handshake. Serizawa redirected his hand and they shook hands. “Okay, well… see you in a few hours.”
“See you!” Why did I go in for a handshake? What even was that?
Serizawa stepped out into the day, taking in the fresh air and sunshine. It had been spring for a few weeks now, but it still felt so good to be done with winter. The world was in bloom again, and he felt like he was finally blooming with it.
He had grown a lot thanks to support from his new friends. Just a little over a year ago, this level of independence wouldn’t have felt remotely possible to him. He finally felt like he could be proud of the person he was becoming.
Serizawa started to hum, tapping his fingers on his bag as he walked. The tune wasn’t really based on anything, but it felt nice to make a pleasant sound. He was honestly feeling pretty nervous about the math quiz he’d have to take in class. Humming helped distract him from the urge to pull out his hair.
Lost in thought, mentally going over what he remembered from his notes, Serizawa made it to the train station before he knew it. He took a seat on his train and pulled out a chain of photos, similar to the one Reigen showed to clients.
Even if I don’t don’t do well, I can always do better next time. There are still people who love and support me. The photos we a nice reminder of what was real and important to him when he was feeling overwhelmed. It would’ve been easier to just keep pictures on his phone, but he found that keeping a tangible item was more helpful for him.
Feeling reassured, Serizawa put the photos away and pulled out his notes to go over again.
Meanwhile, back at the office, Reigen paced around the room. Occasionally he would absentmindedly push a book into place, straighten out a picture on the wall. The place was already clean, but he needed something to do with his hands.
Eventually he plopped back down at his desk with a sigh. He ran his hands through his hair and took a deep breath before reaching into the bottom left drawer and pulling out a manila envelope. Inside were several smaller envelopes containing various pictures: some trips he'd been on, documentation of his transition, more pictures of the esper kids and Tome. He opened the last envelope.
Reigen actually really enjoyed photography, he just didn’t have a nice camera. He also thought it was a good idea to show clients the pictures with more "character." He thought he’d gotten pretty good at framing the shot just right and with his editing skills he could come up with some nice results if he wanted to.
Inside the envelope, among the Kageyama brothers, awakening lab kids, and everyone else were a few pictures of Serizawa. They were mostly candid shots: him studying, laughing at some joke, dozing off after a long day. There were also some pictures of him posing with the kids. He really did look like a dad, maybe Tome was onto something...
Reigen gently touched Serizawa's smile in the photo. Oh I'm really in it, huh. Tome can tell... Serizawa probably knows too. Maybe he just doesn't know how to let me down easy.
"Hey that wasn't so hard, was it?" Amane, a friend of Serizawa's, asked him. Class had just ended.
"Guess I was nervous for nothing." The quiz had been much easier than expected.
"It may have been easy, but that's still a win in my book!" Amane said with a big smile and a thumbs up. Serizawa smiled back, then gathered up his stuff and joined her in walking to the train station. They walked in silence for a while, just enjoying each other’s company. Eventually Amane broke the silence. "You seem a lot less anxious this semester, what's your secret?"
"Well, uh, therapy. Also - this is going to sound silly but... I keep a bunch of pictures on me to... y'know... remind me of what's really important. It reminds me that the things that worry me are only temporary."
"That's great! Is that why you’re always taking pictures with your phone?"
"Yeah, I've really gotten into photography lately. I don't know if I'm any good, but I like to take pictures of my friends and birds and flowers and all kinds of stuff.”
At this point they had made it to the station and checked in before finding a place to wait for their train.
"I think having fun with it is the most important thing. Do you mind if I look?"
“That’s fine.” Serizawa said, pulling out his stack of pictures and handing them to Amane.
She looked them over while Serizawa watched nervously. “These are wonderful Serizawa!”
“You think so?”
“Definitely, and I see that picture of me turned out great,” she said, using her free hand to frame her face as if she were posing for a photo. This elicited a chuckle out of Serizawa. “Who are some of these other people? Who’s this kid with the bowl cut.”
“Oh that’s Shigeo, we call him Mob, though. He’s a good kid, we use to work together. He was one of my first real friends if you can believe it.”
“He sounds sweet. What about this sweaty guy?”
“Haha, that’s Reigen. He’s my friend but I also kind of work with him? He’s done a lot for me... I wouldn't even be here without him,” Serizawa absentmindedly touched his face. “He's a good man. He doesn't believe it sometimes, and he definitely isn't perfect, but he is - he is a good man."
"You really care about him, huh?"
"Of course! He's my friend, I just wish he could see the him that I see."
"I feel the same about my wife. The people we love never seem to see themselves the way we see them."
"Oh," Serizawa whispered to the ground, a slight bit of color tinging his cheeks. "Oh..."
Hearing sounds near the door, Reigen quickly put away his pictures. He went to go open the door, but Serizawa came in before he could reach it.
“Hey,” Serizawa said, a nervous energy affecting his tone.”
“Hey! How’d that quiz go?”
“Oh, it was easy. I’m glad I put in extra time to study but I didn’t really need to.”
Something else is on his mind?
Bzzt Reigen’s phone buzzed in his pocket. “Tome texted in the groups chat.”
“I forgot to charge my phone, mind if I look?” Serizawa said as he came up behind Reigen’s shoulder.
“S-sure” Reigen said, repositioning his phone so they could both read off of it.
Tome: date went great :D I just walked Keiko home and I’ll tell you guys all about it tomorrow
Tome:ty for the advice! even if Reigen’s was bad :p
Reigen started typing.
Reigen: hey at least you knew what not to do from me
Reigen: glad it went well! can’t wait to hear about it
Reigen handed his phone over to Serizawa
Reigen: hey it’s seri :) I’m so happy for you! I knew you could do it d(OuO)b
“She’s growing up so fast, isn’t she?” Serizawa said as he handed Reigen’s phone back.
“She sure is.” Reigen turned and their eyes met, their faces mere inches apart. With a slight gasp he said “I think I’m in love with you.” The words had escaped his lips before he could think.
“What?”
“Nothing! What? I didn’t say anything.” Reigen looked away and tried to cover his face as if that would help. Oh god what have I gotten myself into?
Suddenly he felt a hand cup his chin as Serizawa turned Reigen’s face to look at him. Serizawa’s hands were so warm and soft and gentle. It took everything Reigen had to not melt into a puddle right there on the floor.
"You really feel that way?” Part of Reigen thought he heard a bit of hopefulness in Serizawa’s tone, but maybe that was just wishful thinking.
Reigen could barely hear over the pounding of his heart as he stammered out “Maybe? Well… yeah. B-but it’s ok if you don’t feel the same! I-”
“Oh,” Serizawa said quietly, “W-well I do feel the same. I, uh, kind of just realized I did in the last hour. I don’t really know how this is supposed to go… would it be ok if I…” and suddenly his face was very close Reigen’s.
Reigen had been staring in shock, scarcely breathing through this. Without thinking, he leaned in so hard he almost broke both of their noses.
“Aw jeez sorry ah… sh-shit.” Reigen tried to regain his composure. “I don’t really know how this goes either, but could we try that again?” He tried to smile confidently but the pain in his nose was making his eye twitch.
Serizawa smiled playfully as he rubbed the bridge of his nose. “Okay, but if this keeps up you might have to start paying my medical bills.” And he leaned in close again, a bit slower this time.
When their lips touched it felt like the world had stopped around them. Reigen felt Serizawa’s thumb rub against his cheek as he ran his hands through Serizawas hair. It felt so good, so right, so ethereal, so- and suddenly it was over.
“Wait, are you okay? Sorry I didn’t even a-”
Reigen laughed as he threw his arms around Serizawa’s neck. “I’m just fine,” he said as he pulled Serizawa close again.

Mob Psycho 100 Fanfiction
Text to Speech Translation Error
Direct sequel to "And Maybe...Some Things Are That Simple"
After half a decade away from Seasoning City, Teru has a lot of catching up to do. Unfortunately, some people are less than welcoming. Turns out, there's a reason why.
Part of The World Keeps Turning series
When they meet again, it’s at Spirits and Such. The smell of stale cigarette smoke and incense that assaults him the minute the door opens brings with it such an intense nostalgia that it stops Teru in his tracks. It’s a feeling he’s never experienced before, but it brings with it a tide of memories of a lonely young boy, looking for anything to fill the emptiness of an afternoon, weekend, summer. Memories of being wanted. Memories of being safe.
Teru doesn’t realize that there are tears pricking at his eyes until he sees Reigen, clicking away on his laptop, as if he’d never once moved in all the years he’d been gone.
“Oh, hello Mob,” Reigen says, looking up as the door chime announces their arrival, “This is unexpected. Who’s your friend?”
Teru swears he feels his heart drop into his shoes, but the moment is short. The old con artist squints at him from behind a pair of square-rimmed glasses sitting on his nose, and Teru can visibly see the question shift into recognition. Warm relief spreads through him as Reigen pulls himself up, still squinting incredulously over the edge of his glasses.
“Hanazawa?” he asks, as Teru crosses the distance of the small room to greet his old father figure mentor, “What the hell did you do to your ears?  How many holes did you poke in them to get all those earrings in there?”
Teru can’t help but chuckle, clasping Reigen’s hand. Then, succumbing to instinct, Teru pulls the older man into a tight hug.
“Careful, careful now you youngster! You’re gonna break these old bones!” Reigen splutters, but leans into the contact, returning with a hug just as tight. Teru never quite reached Reigen’s height, but for once can’t bring himself to care. He instead revels in the smell of smoke and stale sweat, the feeling of hair tickling his face, the feeling of being safe.
“Welcome home, my boy,” Reigen says, after they break apart, “You planning on staying long?”
Teru swipes at his face with the palm of his hand, grinning despite the clear evidence of moisture on his cheeks. “Forever, Master Reigen. If I can.”
Behind them, he swears he can feel Kageyama smilling.
The next time is in response to an open invitation from Kageyama, who offered to tour Teru around his office.  He jumps at the chance to tour around the halls of his alma mater, Paprika University, and make a few calls to former professors before going on to meet Kageyama at the designated rendezvous.
It’s incredible, he realizes, how little the halls mean to him. They had been just another stepping stone on this cyclical path of his, with no great affinity for any one location or person. Compared to his feelings upon returning to Spirits and Such, the entire campus feels…hollow.
Except not so much, because now it’s more than just a place he once attended. Now it’s Kageyama’s place, and he wonders if he would feel the other’s aura seeping into the brickwork, should he focus.
“Hey, Haystack!”
Teru startles, and turns to see a dark haired woman approaching him at breakneck pace. For a moment he struggles to place her, but there are a limited number of people who knew him from the haystack days, and even fewer who would dare ever mention it.
“Ah, hello there Kurata-san,” he says, trying to smile pleasantly as the woman bears down on him with the full weight of her personality.  She’s glowering at him, looking ready to spit nails.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing here?” she demands, but before Teru can open his mouth she continues, “And that’s Professor Kurata, to you, you no good air-headed bimbo.”
It takes Teru about a second and a half longer than it should have to recover from the verbal assault. Kurata continues to glare, and this combined with the fact that she has the gall to be taller than him by a couple centimeters, actually irks him. Despite this, Teru does his best to give a good-natured chuckle and grin up at her.
“I didn’t realize that the grounds of my alma mater were off-limits to me,” he says, giving one of his most blinding smiles. It, of course, fails to phase Kurata in the least bit.
“You know as well as I do that that’s not what I’m—”
“Hello Tome-chan.” Neither of them had heard Kageyama approach, and yet there he stands, looking entirely nonplussed at the way his two friends glare at each other.
“Oi, Mob,” Kurata says, placing a hand on Teru’s shoulder in what could have been a friendly gesture. “I just found this lost child wandering about and wanted to know if you needed me to escort him to his next class. Or like. Off the campus. Or to another planet. We have a mutual telepath friend with a record of alien contact, so I could get that arranged.”
Kageyama gives her a fond, albeit strained smile. “That won’t be necessary. Thank you though.”
“You’re sure about that?” Kurata prods, the grip on Teru’s shoulder tightening.
“Yes. Don’t worry, he’s my guest.”
The pair share a tense moment that leaves Teru drowning in the lack of context. Eventually, though, Kurata gives out a heavy sigh, shoulders slumping.
“’Kay, if you say so,” she mutters, releasing her grip on Teru, and patting him on the shoulder twice in a conciliatory manner. “But if you need anything, just holler.”
With that, she stomps off in search of her next victim, or so Teru assumes. At this point in his life, he has fought off all manner of evil spirits and megalomaniacal espers, but he can’t quite recall ever being that terrified.
“Did I do something wrong?” he asks, when he’s sure that she’s out of earshot.
“Oh, no, I don’t think so,” Kageyama replies, crow’s feet appearing between his eyebrows as he frowns slightly. “At least. Not anymore. We worked it out.”
Teru hums noncommittally in response, keenly aware that he’s missing a lot of context here. That said, he really isn’t in a place to demand to be filled in. After all, it seems that the good Professor Kurata has been looking out for Kageyama, while he’s been off doing whatever it is he’s been doing.  Still. The entire thing has left him off-kilter.
“Hanazawa-kun.” Kageyama interrupts his thoughts. “I have a little while before my next meeting, so I’d be happy to show you my lab now.”
Kageyama’s face is…precious. Teru can’t think of any other way to describe it, even as he feels his heart leap into his throat. There’s trepidation there, excitement and anxiety swirling just under the other’s calm façade.  It’s the kind of expression, Teru knows, that his old friend only wore when he was making himself especially vulnerable—sharing a piece of himself that was both precious and private.
The confusion that he’d felt towards Kurata fades away, leaving Teru only with a slight pang of jealousy. She has, after all, gotten to see this side of Kageyama for years.
But again, he doesn’t have anybody to blame but himself. He just hopes she knows how lucky she is.
This time, Teru finds himself seated at the table in the kitchen of the Kageyama family home. Both brothers had lived away for some time, Kageyama had explained, but after establishing himself at the local university the parents had asked him to move back in. At the moment, they were off traveling, happy to know that their house was being cared for by their eldest son.
“It’s a bit lonely,” Kageyama concludes, “Which is why I’m glad that you and Ritsu were able to join me for dinner.”
“We don’t see each other enough, brother,” Ritsu replies, sincerely as far as Teru can tell. They’re seated across from each other, around the worn wooden table.
“It’s your home too, you know,” Kageyama chides. He’s in the kitchen, finishing whatever meal he’s worked to prepare for them. His request that guests remain seated is being honored, but not without a great deal of tension crackling between the two.  If Kageyama notices, he doesn’t mention it.
“So,” Teru says, grabbing hopelessly at conversation topics. He’d thought he and Ritsu had made their peace years ago, but clearly he’s done something to mess that up again. Despite his best efforts though, he can’t figure out exactly why the other man continues to glare at him whenever Kageyama’s turned back to cooking.
It’s disconcerting. But on the other hand, it’s kind of nice to see that the younger brother hasn’t changed all that much.  Sure, he’s taller (even moreso than his brother, which definitely makes Teru the shortest of the squad), has changed his haircut into something short and prickly, and has quite a few more worry lines, but he’s definitely the same middle school student that had challenged him in the street all those years ago.
Still. They make it to the actual dinner part without lighting anything on fire. That’s definitely a win.
However, the moment that Kageyama has finished setting the table with the variety of food that he’s prepared, a cell phone goes off. It’s an old meme song, high pitched and obnoxious, and Ritsu goes for his pocket with a sigh.  Kageyama doesn’t seem bothered at all that their dinner had been interrupted, waiting patiently as Ritsu grumbles into the phone.
(Seriously dude? I’m chilling with my brother today, I told you that. What do you mean an emergency, what the hell did you do? Okay, okay, just…try not to bleed out until I get there.)
By the time Ritsu is standing, heading for the door, Kageyama has already beat him there, offering his younger brother two portions of dinner to take with him.
“For little brother Shou, when you rescue him,” Kageyama says, words barely loud enough for Teru to hear. “Be safe, Ritsu.”
And then the younger brother is gone, vanishing out the door with his spiky aura flaring behind him.
And Teru is alone with Kageyama.
They sit quietly to eat, silence punctuated by the clack of chopsticks as Teru contemplates what to say next. When he’s absolutely certain that Kageyama is not trying to formulate words of his own, and that he won’t interrupt, Teru clears his throat.
“So…little brother’s job at the bank seems to have gotten more dangerous than I’d have thought.”
Kageyama cracks a worried smile. “Ah well. He hasn’t worked there for three years now. He’s running his own business.”
“Seriously?” Teru asks, flabbergasted. Business running is his shtick, after all. “With a sour disposition like his?”
“It’s not really his business,” Kageyama informs him with a chuckle, “It’s Suzuki’s. Ritsu just signed on as a partner.” He chews his food slowly. “Oh, ah. They’re consultants. For the government.”
Well. That is a bit more interesting than Teru had imagined. And it makes that phone call less mysterious but significantly more worrying.
He decides instead to change the topic.
“You’ve gotten better,” Teru muses. “At explaining things.”
“It’s a work in progress.” His friend is still frowning down at his food. “But you learn a lot, from being a teacher. I’m still not particularly good at it. If I was better, then I suppose you’d be having an easier time right now.”
“An easier time?” Teru asks, the words coming slowly as though he’s tiptoeing on thin ice.
“Mmhmm.” Kageyama finally looks up at him, brows drawn into an anxious frown. “I suppose I have to apologize for that. For the way that others are treating you, since you got back.”
“You mean that wasn’t just my charming personality?”
“No, although it is very charming,” Kageyama continues, “They just don’t believe me, when I tried to explain that you didn’t understand my confession to you, a couple months ago.”
It takes Teru three beats to realize he’s stopped breathing.
(If anybody were to ask Hanazawa Teruki if he was in love with Kageyama Shigeo, he would tell them the truth: Of course.
But the fact was that nobody asked him. Sure, lots of people knew, given how much he failed in subtlety, but nobody asked. And so, Teru was content never to say a word.
It was too much of a risk, ruining the relationship they had over feelings that he was certain would never be returned.)
“What?” Teru manages to stammer. They’ve been sitting there, in awkward silence. The spoon in Kageyama’s hand is curling rapidly, twisting and untwisting while its owner looks away, ears tipped with pink.
(He’s rewinding now, rewinding to the text messages that he’d left unanswered for three solid months: Are you coming home after? I’ve missed you.)
“I know,” he says at length, still not looking at Teru, “It was a mistake, on my part. I’ve gotten better at communicating, but ah…well. I made a mess of things on my end. I misinterpreted your silence for a rejection, which was why I was so glad when you wanted to meet again.”
(A confession. That had been a confession. And Teru had left him hanging for literal months, thinking that he had been cut off.)
“I don’t…ahm. I don’t know if you would be interested, and if you’re not, then please disregard all this, but I thought it would be best if…” Kageyama swallows visibly, “Hanazawa, I really, really like you. Would you…would you go out with me?”
He’s left no room for the confession to be mistaken for anything else, Teru realizes as his brain finally catches up to the moment. And then that traitorous part of his mind follows it up with, he sounds like a high schooler.
Looks like one too. The nervous earnestness in Kageyama’s face, the way he clutches both hands together in front of him—for all that he’s grown in the past years, he’s still Kageyama.
The realization crashes down on Teru with a flood of relief.
“Kageyama-kun…” Teru says, then stops himself, “Shigeo. I…I’m…”
There are so many words bubbling to the surface right now, in the slurry of emotions that he hadn’t expected. And yet, in all the pomp and glitter that he uses to disguise his true persona, Teru manages to pull on the single truth he knows better than anything.
“I’m sorry.” The words form in a croaked whisper and hang in the kitchen. “I’m not good enough for you.”
He curls in on himself, arms wrapped tight around his middle, fighting off the feeling that he wants to be violently ill. The entire world feels like it’s swaying, turning on an axis and leaving him to try to find the middle ground. But there’s no battle strategy for this, the one outcome he never dared imagine. All there is, is honesty, because Shigeo deserves that much.
“Me too,” he manages to say, eyes screwed tight and blood pounding in his ears, “I fell in love with you…I don’t know. Forever ago? You changed my life. And I can’t…I can’t repay that. I don’t deserve anything else from you.”
There are hands on his face, gentle, so gentle, guiding it. Teru doesn’t dare open his eyes, terrified for what he’ll see. Terrified at the thought that Shigeo can see him—all his selfishness, ever ugly secret he’s ever tried to hide, ever appetite he’s ever tried to curb, and all the failures he’s experienced in the process. Terrified that once he’s seen for what he is, Shigeo will leave.
“It’s okay,” he hears Shigeo murmur, “I don’t think I’m that good either.  Do you think…do you think that perhaps we can try, though?”
Teru opens his eyes, and is greeted by Shigeo, crouching beside him, eyes so soft, so gentle…so hopeful.
And suddenly, Teru knows without a shadow of the a doubt, that Shigeo has always seen him. From their very first encounter, he has always seen Teru, and never recoiled in disgust. And he sees him now.
It’s more terrifying, Teru realizes belatedly, to be seen for who he really is, and be loved.
He knows what to do with rejection. This, however, is totally new.
Frighteningly new, and…exciting. Hopeful.
“Yes,” he croaks, “I would very much like that, Shigeo.”

Ohhhh I see those tags. Firefly AU? Bro I'm all ears.
Oh boy~! I hope you like Mob angst, because man did I create a lot of Mob angst! >8D
Mob Psycho 100/Firefly Crossover AU
(This is just a brainstorming thing, not meant to be taken as a finished piece. Even if it is 3.6K words...)
Everyone is five years older than in canon. So Mob’s 19, Ritsu is 18, and Reigen is 33.
Arataka Reigen is the captain of the transport spaceship S&S, or the Spirits and Such. He prefers keeping a low profile after a shady past that he’s since tried to clean up. Has an entire crew under his command, none of whom take him that seriously. He still dads them relentlessly. Teruki is first mate, came on board after Reigen helped him out of a tight spot, is surprisingly good at ordering people to do stuff, isn’t a dick about his powers after the new pilot kicked his ass. Shou is pilot, Serizawa is the medic/cook; both are powerful espers that came on board after Shou convinced Seri to run away with him and hijacked the ship to escape, Reigen subsequently hiring them after finding out Shou was a damn good pilot and that Seri needed like so much therapy. Tome is on communications, who took the job on the condition that she be allowed to attempt making contact with aliens (Reigen doesn’t ask). Mezato is a traveling journalist that pays Reigen to let her stay on board and hunt for news stories, but he suspects she’s just a nosy busybody. Onigawara is a mercenary Reigen hired after one too many scuffles, but now has even more to deal with thanks to the guy’s temper. Musashi is a mechanic with experience in fixing up farm equipment, but can pretty easily extrapolate it to an entire spaceship (Reigen isn’t sure that’s how that works, but hey the ship hasn’t exploded yet). Dimple’s a questionable preacher they picked up after he got run out of town, claims to be a priest but acts like he’s got a god-complex or something (might be an alien brain slug). They’re kind of a disaster, but with Reigen’s people skills, he’s able to avert the worst of it.
They’re given a relatively easy job when they take a young man on board, named Ritsu Kageyama. Also with him is an unusually large suitcase, which he says contains “his entire life”. He just asks to be taken as far from the planet as possible but doesn’t elaborate. Reigen can tell something’s up, but doesn’t have the heart to bother the guy, who is clearly going through some bad shit.
Not a day or two into their voyage, the crew finds out that the government has put out a bounty on Ritsu for stealing their property. Ritsu denies doing anything wrong and they decide to search his luggage for whatever he stole. He flips out at this and tries to stop them, but it’s too late. The large suitcase opens to reveal it holds a stasis chamber containing a sleeping young man. They’re horrified and free the guy, thinking that Ritsu is some kind of human trafficker until he yells at them that he’s trying to save his brother. The sleeping man wakes up then, but something’s clearly wrong with him in how he holds himself like a terrified animal. He seems to realize he’s somewhere unfamiliar and curls up, screaming and crying. Ritsu comes in, covering his brother with his coat and trying to soothe the crying man, now clinging to him desperately. The crew is polite enough to back off and give the two some space.
Soon after, Ritsu and his brother are given a chance to explain what’s going on. Ritsu’s brother is silent this entire time, curled up clutching at Ritsu’s side, staring off into space with glassy eyes, like he’s not there at all. Ritsu starts by telling them that everything he’s done was to save his older brother, Shigeo. All of this has to do with the fact that he is an esper and a particularly powerful one at that. Despite the powers, the two grew up pretty normally until his brother was invited to study at a special Academy for espers. Shigeo took them up on it and left home. At first things seemed normal, the brothers messaging each other regularly. But after a while, Shigeo’s messages started to taper off. The few he did manage to get out were short and often about his exhaustion and the trials he was being put through. Then for a long stretch, Ritsu didn’t hear anything from him. Until he receives a bizarre message from Shigeo’s email, claiming that his brother is dead. For some reason, it’s signed by a “Mob”. It takes Ritsu a while to do some digging, turning up results that made him more and more fearful for Shigeo’s life. So Ritsu left to rescue him, dropping everything to break into the facility and get Shigeo out. By the time he got there, he found his brother already in the stasis chamber. He only had enough time to grab the entire thing before hiding it in the suitcase and fleeing to the spaceport.
Which leads to now. Ritsu knows he doesn’t stand a chance against the S&S crew if they decide to turn them in and has resigned himself to that fate. To everyone’s surprise, Reigen declares that they’ll do no such thing. In fact, everyone’s under orders that they’re to do everything they can to protect the brothers. They’re both victims and Reigen can’t possibly give the abused back to their abusers. They can stay.
The crew is less than pleased at this and start yelling at Reigen until he makes them settle down. Ritsu is distrustful of course, but a quiet whimper from Shigeo gets him to back down. Reigen orders Seri to take the two to larger quarters, while he discusses things with the others. Teru is pretty against the whole thing, knowing they can’t hide the brothers forever. It’s only a matter of time before one of them slips and all of them land in hot water for harboring fugitives. Reigen points out that Ritsu is a fugitive for rescuing his brother from said law, which referred to Shigeo as their “property”. Reigen may be greedy at times, but he’s not heartless. He also doesn’t want to admit that the sight of poor Shigeo struck a nerve in him.
As the Kageyama brothers get settled, there comes the question of what they plan on doing. Ritsu’s plan was to flee to the outer reaches and maybe start a new life there. But with the bounty on him, he’s not sure that’s a workable plan anymore. So Reigen offers them a place on the ship. Any skill set they have would definitely be put to use. Ritsu hesitantly says he’d been studying medicine before upending his life. “Medic,” Reigen declares, “Which would be great, because oh my god Seri just can’t deal with blood.” With a lot of reservation, Ritsu accepts and the job is sealed. As for Shigeo… Reigen decides that he’s infirm and can’t be expected to work yet, much to Ritsu’s relief and zero response from Shigeo.
Things settle down in their own weird way. There’s shenanigans on various planets, Reigen scraping through bad situations through his sweaty charisma, things get shot at, lots of running, like how most of Firefly went.
As time goes on, the crew observes a lot about the two. Ritsu is normal enough, maybe a bit naive in some regards and a bit too aggressive in others. By contrast, Shigeo doesn’t speak at all, doesn’t make eye contact, and is quiet and submissive. He’s a bit perplexing. He always looks haggard, bags under his eyes, hair set in an overgrown bowl-cut pattern. He generally goes around barefoot, preferring oversized knitted turtlenecks and sweaters to hide himself in. He wanders the halls aimlessly, often reaching out to touch the walls. Sometimes he’ll stare at a spot for hours without moving. Other times, he seems to be listening for something only he can hear, sometimes even humming along to some strange tune. They tend to find him curled up in odd places, sometimes observing the others as they go about their duties, sometimes blankly staring into space. The more… interesting times are when Shigeo gets flashbacks of some kind, triggering his powers spiraling out of control. These episodes leave him screaming in the eye of a hurricane of objects until Ritsu can get to him and calm him down. Because of this, Ritsu spends most of his time at his brother’s side, trying to coax him into talking, eating, or calmness. He often glares at anyone who dares approach them. The few times the two are separate, Reigen finds himself gravitating to Shigeo. He talks to the guy, just sharing stories or offering words of encouragement. Shigeo never responds, but Reigen can sense something in him paying attention and keeps it up. Then Shigeo has an episode without Ritsu, leaving Reigen to dive in and calm him down. Something about it works and he’s able to comfort Shigeo until his brother arrives.
Not long after, Reigen finds a lone Shigeo huddled in his bunk of all places. A baffled Reigen asks what he’s doing there, not thinking he’ll actually get a response. “It smells safe,” Shigeo quietly answers. Reigen realizes it’s because of the incense and candles he kept from his old job and goes on to explain when the fact that Shigeo just spoke to him finally hits him. He has no idea what to make of this, but if his bunk smells safe then, sure, Shigeo can stay if he likes. Before dozing off, Shigeo corrects him. “My name is Mob. Shigeo is dead.”
With that bizarre proclamation, Reigen confronts Ritsu about it. However, Ritsu gets mad that Shigeo actually spoke to Reigen of all people. Reigen doesn’t see what the big deal is, but Ritsu tells him that his brother hadn’t said a thing since he was let out. Reigen is left even more confused, as he thought they had been talking. With some more prodding, Ritsu admits that he has no idea how to really take care of his brother, able to tend to physical needs but not mental or emotional ones. Nor does he know just what the Academy did to make Shigeo this way. He knew his brother was autistic, always having trouble socializing and interacting, but it was never like this. Neither did he claim he was dead nor refer to himself as Mob (which is what Reigen refers to him as from then on). (how do i conclude this section i have no idea 0_0;;;)
To Reigen’s surprise, Mob keeps turning up in Reigen’s quarters no matter how well it’s locked. Mob is often found sleeping or blankly staring at the walls. Reigen doesn’t have the heart to kick him out. Though Mob doesn’t say anything, Reigen gets the sense that the young man keeps coming to Reigen’s room to get away from his brother, whose overbearing side has been coming up more often.
Afterwards, the others begin finding Mob in their personal spaces. He seems to particularly resonate with the other espers: Teru finds something grating about his presence, Shou is more fascinated with him and tends to poke and prod at Mob more, while Seri appreciates his quiet, non-judgmental presence.
However the thing that breaks Mob out of his silence is when Claw rears its ugly head. During one of his more lucid moments, Ritsu manages to coax Mob out to explore the spaceport the ship has docked at. Things seem to be going fine until Mob freaks out at the sight of a weird triangle symbol painted on a door. He runs like his life depends on it, quickly losing Ritsu and getting lost in the crowd. Ritsu freaks out of course and enlists the help of the crew to find his brother. It’s Teru who comes across Mob huddled in an alleyway. Mob is shaking, muttering something about Claw searching and finding him. Teru doesn’t have time for this and hauls Mob up to leave, but are stopped by a hooded figure. The figure tells them to come quietly or else things will get ugly fast. Teru has no intention of listening to some thug, but realizes something might be wrong when Mob desperately begs him not go with the figure. It’s because Teru’s guard is up that he’s able to fend off the figure’s sudden very psychically charged attack. The figure turns out to be Koyama, who intends to bring the two psychics in. A fight breaks out with Teru on the offense and Mob on the defense. The fight eventually gets out of hand enough that Shou and Serizawa come in to help. Their arrival is enough to freak Koyama out into fleeing, recognizing the two as powerful espers. (chase down and capture Koyama? give them time to dump him in a jail and leave Claw wondering what’s going on. otherwise he gives their location to base, meaning they get chased) No one’s entirely sure what’s going on until Reigen drags everyone out into a group meeting, deciding it’s finally time for Shou and Serizawa to spill their backstory (he didn’t ask before to be polite).
Like in canon, Shou is fighting back against his father, still Claw’s leader. Only this time, his father knows about it because Shou ran off with his second-in-command, Serizawa, who reluctantly went with Shou because he thought the kid needed protection. Since joining the S&S crew, they’ve been laying low, waiting for a good chance to start making battle preparations. In that time, Serizawa’s realized the error of his ways and is trying to do right by Reigen and Shou. Both of them go on to explain Claw.
In this universe, Claw is sneakier, running in smaller proxy operations but has roots in places like the government already. Their other major asset is the Psychic Academy that Shigeo attended. In the front, the Academy trains and hones a psychic’s abilities. Most people have super weak powers but do genuinely get a lot out of it. Mitsuura enthusiastically runs that part of the operation but honestly has no idea what the darker side of the Academy is up to. The stronger psychics get a completely different story. These are the ones who are made into pawns for Claw to use in their plot to come into power. Otherwise they’re experimented on in a bid to strengthen their abilities to a dangerous degree.
Teru perks up at this, stating he was invited to the Academy once as well, but opted not to. (why? wanted to stay somewhere familiar? wanted to keep hold on his little gang?) Mob just comments that he was smart not to go.
“They do bad things to you.”
With a little prodding, Mob finds the words to explain himself.
Mob insists that he isn’t Shigeo and that the real Shigeo died. That Mob is just a thing inhabiting Shigeo’s body, nothing more. Why he calls himself Mob is because he’s “just a face in a mob, [he’s] no one, a nothing.” He knows a lot about Shigeo, who he was and what he was like. He knew that he was an esper prodigy and the Academy took advantage of that. But they went too far. They put something in him, something that was never meant to be. It killed Shigeo and Mob was born from his shattered remains. Now it’s just the two of them in there, Mob and the Thing. Mob’s been doing his best to keep his distance from the Thing, but it’s hard to do when he’s barely functional. Mob can’t quite explain the Thing either, describing it as a black hole with its own mind trapped in his head.
This is all a bit much to swallow at once, so Reigen breaks them up for now and promises to come back to think of a plan.
Ritsu hasn’t been taking this well, hurt and confused by what his brother is saying. While his brother is obviously not dead, Ritsu’s not sure he can handle losing the person he was. He insists on calling his brother by his real name. Mob can only sigh.
Though their relationship is strained, Ritsu resolves to do everything he can for his brother. Mob tends to shrink away from this. He insists that he’s not Shigeo, therefore: not Ritsu’s brother. But Ritsu is able to get through to him by reasoning that if Mob was formed out of pieces of Shigeo, it means that Shigeo can’t entirely be gone. But this isn’t about that, Ritsu admits. This is about who Mob is. If Mob formed in Shigeo’s body, then that makes it Mob’s body too. And Mob’s body is blood brothers with Ritsu. As far as Ritsu is concerned, Mob IS his brother, whether he likes it or not. Mob isn’t sure how to feel about this until Ritsu hugs him, telling Mob that he isn’t “a nobody, a nothing”, Mob has family and that means he IS something, someONE. Though he tries not to, Mob breaks down crying.
(Presumably, they go in to take care of the Claw problem, possibly first with 7th Div. cell before thwarting the World Domination arc. Blow open giant government secret like in Firefly/Serenity canon? Would probably have to break into Academy again to figure out what they did to Mob, learns about the Thing in detail here. No idea where other elements would go, like Mogami arc. How would space ghosts work? Maybe Mogami arc could be a haunted spaceship story, replace Reavers with evil spirits. Broccoli arc???? HOW DO EITHER STORY END? HOW WOULD THIS END??)
Stuff that would probably only be hinted at in-story, but can be fully explained here:
Mob is either Shigeo gone insane or a new personality entirely. Both are plausible.
The Thing is ???%. While it’s still a mystery in canon apparently just Mob’s powers set to survival mode (something to do with a Japanese idiom?), here ???% is a tiny scrap of what can only be described as a cosmic entity. It’s a small, inky black, strange free-flowing blob, lit up with intermittent glowing white spots. When its discoverers noticed it reacted strongly to espers, it was taken to the Academy to see what it would do. They thought it could be used to give a massive boost to psychic powers. It was implanted in Shigeo to test it out, but his powers went haywire and leveled the building.  When they found him at the epicenter, Shigeo was a shivering, crying wreck. It would be the only thing he could do for a while.
The implantation of the Thing shattered Shigeo’s mind as it forcibly made room for itself in him. The Thing did not originally have a mind of its own. But when Shigeo broke, it absorbed enough pieces of him that it gained self-awareness, changing it from a blob into a shadowy copy of Shigeo. With pieces of humanity in it, the Thing understood human thoughts and emotions. While the Thing could simply have taken over Shigeo’s body completely, it didn’t out of regret for the consciousness that originally was there. Instead, it nudged the bits of Shigeo that were left into a new entity entirely. Sadly not enough was there to create a functioning person, instead the new consciousness was marred with fear and pain. It would come to name itself Mob.
To the Academy scientists, the procedure damaged Shigeo’s cognitive abilities, leaving him unable to recognize his own name or even understand human speech. Instead, he acted almost like a terrified animal half the time. The worst came in the form of screaming episodes, where he seemed to see something terrifying no one else could (it was the Thing manifesting in its vessel’s mind, curious about the entity it shared a body with; it didn’t know what to make of the screaming and crying, so it kept its distance). Only twice did lucidity briefly return: once to ask for pants; the other was to beg them to stop hurting him. The Academy tried many different unsuccessful treatments on him, steadily getting less and less humane until it became more of an exercise in torture than anything else. Ultimately, the Academy deemed Shigeo too unstable to continue making use of, opting to put him in stasis until they could figure out what happened. However, both minds overhear this and in a rare moment of joint lucidity, they secretly send out a message to their brother for help. Afterward, the doctors have to physically fight Shigeo to get him sedated. Shigeo is put into a small stasis chamber and set aside, where he was supposed to sleep indefinitely. It takes a while, but Ritsu is able to break in and is horrified that his brother is in a freaking box. And things go from there.
Mob hates being alive. He doesn’t want to be here. He’s convinced his existence is a mistake, one that he constantly regrets. Most of this pain comes from simple self-hatred, that he’s alive in a body that doesn’t belong to him and never did, that he unfairly stole Shigeo’s life. It’s made worse when Ritsu expects Mob to act like Shigeo but he never can, feeling like he’s incapable of being a real person. There’s a lot of crying on his part, driven by intense despair. It takes time, but Mob slowly stabilizes as he comes to terms with his existence, characterized by increasing moments of speech and lucidity.

MP100 d&d headcanons
so i’ve talked to a few people about this and i’ve come to the conclusion that i’ve developed this Way Too Much and i’m (probably) never going to do anything with this so i might as well drop it here
Reigen
he’s the DM by default because he played an early edition when he was a kid and has the most background knowledge (he was never very good at it, but he Knows Enough to be a semi competent DM)
(that or he convinced them he’s the most qualified to DM despite never having played d&d before)
he writes the wildest fuckin campaigns and plays fast and loose with the rules, he embodies the 5e mentality of “can i do this thing?” “well you can certainly try”
(sometimes he’ll write campaigns based around cases he and mob have gone on, but shh don’t tell anyone)
he Always makes a self insert npc that’s Wildly Powerful and also super plot relevant so you can’t just get rid of him (Ritsu still tries his hardest to shake him regardless)
He does Voices and faces for Every Character and some of them are honest to god terrible but sometimes they’re not too bad
Is very good at adapting to the shit his players do but he’s somehow always surprised by everything that happens
Mob
He was convinced to play by Ritsu and Teru, not entirely sure what he’s doing but everyone else is having fun so he is too
I have two different ideas of what class/race combo he’d play, so i’m gonna detail both of them
Human protection style fighter
on the off chance their party enters a fight he Never lets anyone take damage if he can help it
purposefully chose the most standard class and race combo he could
he puts As Many Points into strength as he can. all his other stats are shit but he really doesn’t care
Human wildmagic sorcerer
Ritsu convinced him to build this one
still puts all his points into strength despite everyone’s protests
(”Mo-mob, listen, that’s not- you can’t- you should focus on charisma, that’s the most useful for sorcerers, you’re never going to use those strength points” *mob looks them dead in the eye as he adds another ability point to strength*)
the story they talk about the most is the time they were fighting a boss and mob somehow managed to oneshot the boss with a fireball, only for his wildmagic to polymorph him into a cat immediately after
He uses prewritten backstories to start but they always turn into something More and uniquely mob by the end of the campaign
always tries to talk his way out of fighting
somehow he succeeds in convincing npcs not to fight 90% of the time even though his charisma score is Terrible
sometimes he’ll roll so well that an enemy will end up joining their party and Reigen is almost always baffled by this turn of events
He has ridiculously good luck when it comes to rolls
Ritsu
Teifling arcane ranger
his characters are always Very Edgy and never have alignments morally better than lawful neutral
their backstories are always thinly veiled allegories for his life
(no one really cares about backstories all that much besides Teru, so they’ll sometimes get together and develop backstories for their characters)
He takes RP Very Seriously and believes in the Purity Of The Genre, which means he and Reigen butt heads constantly
“You can’t have elevators! its a fantasy world!!!” “Ok, then it’s a fantasy elevator”
he’s the Paranoid Player, he takes checks on literally everything, even the things that obviously don’t need to have checks
“I roll an arcana check on that rabbit” “I-its just a rabbit?? You know what, go ahead.” “12″ “its just a normal rabbit” “...ok, but if i rolled higher would i-” “Ritsu i swear to god its just a normal rabbit its not going to kill you in your sleep”
Teru
Aasimar Paladin
he was literally Chosen By The Gods
he’s a paladin but since 5e took away the alignment restriction he’s a Very Shitty paladin
ironically he’s the most ruthless player and he’s the most powerful if only because mob doesn’t fight that much
he has proficiency at intimidation and persuasion and he Uses Them
tends to follow the rules religiously even when everyone else (even reigen) has decided to be a bit loose with the rules
He’s very good at seeing through Reigen’s plots and red herrings, and this often frustrates reigen and he’s accused Teru of looking at his notes many times
his luck is also pretty good but its not mob level
he cares A Lot about RPing and he has voices for every one of his characters and has drawn all of them and written extensive backstories for them
he was the one that suggested they all try and play d&d
Shou
I’m honestly not super sure about Shou but here we go
Dragonborn bard
reigen forced him to lower his height the first time he saw shou’s character sheet
he really doesn’t care that much about RPing but he tries to flirt w every npc, even if its an enemy and they’re in the middle of combat
(he fails almost every time and teru comes in afterwards and almost always succeeds in flirting w the npcs that just royally roasted Shou’s character)
has dumb meme backstories and dumb names that are almost always puns
He’s the player that’s like “I want to go to the fantasy costco to buy new adventuring gear”
the worst part is Reigen enables him because he’s very nearly just as bad
Bonus Serizawa
Firbolg druid
his spells are mainly useless in combat because he didn’t really understand which ones would actually be useful in a game of d&d
he’s still a pretty competent player, though his attacks are mainly just whacking things in the head with his staff
He has mad rp anxiety and has to hype himself up before every session
reigen is super patient w him as is everyone else so he’s slowly working through it
he also tries not to fight things super often but it usually doesn’t work
his dice are Cursed and he always gets super bad rolls or just barely passes a check (that or he literally gets a nat 20 there’s no in between)
Other things
someone absolutely tried to homebrew an esper class but they quickly realized that it’s Way Too OP
i don’t have a lot of things planned out for characters outside the main esper squad but tome is 100% a knowledge cleric looking for aliens
the party is just walkin down a road and tome is like “M A N it would be such a SHAME if we got RANDOMLY ABDUCTED RIGHT NOW”
dimple didn’t want to play at first but he heard reigen yell “IM THE DM IM BASICALLY YOUR GOD I MAKE THE RULES” once when he was Very Frustrated and now dimple Really Wants To DM
he barely knows what d&d stands for
They let him play one session then immediately banned him from the game because he somehow broke the game in 3 minutes, created a cult, and basically convinced everyone he was a god

u should answer all 20 of the mob psycho ask meme things jsust DO it u peice of fuck....
Fuck you, I will.
1: What is a scene that really got to you?In the anime, probably either the flashback to when Mob went ???% when he was young (I love the Angst™), or when Mob nearly goes 100% murderous intent and then instead goes like, 1000% gratitude. In the manga, the entirety of the fuckin Mogami arc (the part with the cat like Holy Shit) nearly made me cry, and I barely cry at things anymore. So like. That.
2: Who’s your favorite character out of the cast?I….love so many……..They’re all so good. All the esper kids are Good, Reigen is a good man, the Body Improvement Club members….Tome and Mezato…..fuck, even Dimple. I can’t choose…
3: Who’s your favorite esper kid?Mob, Ritsu, Teru, and Shou are all my sons thank you very much. I can’t decide between them. Mob is a Good Boy™ who needs a fucking break holy shit. Ritsu is a little shitsu but he cares a lot about his bro and I cry and he’s good too. Teru is also a shitty boy and also he wants to do good and I cry for him (I’m his parent now cause idk wtf his actual parents are, ONE plz explain). And Shou is a good but destructive boy who deserves better.
4: Who’s your favorite ship(s)?I….really like Ritsu and Shou, and was kinda indifferent to anything else, until @pundeserving (and fanfics) ((thanks u fuck)) showed me the beauty of Teruki and Mob. Also???? I kinda like Tome and Mezato?????? They could like find aliens and report it to the news and honestly they’d be a power couple.
5: What battle shook you most?Uhm. The one at the end of the World Domination arc. So many emotions…..
6: What friendship do you find the cutest?Literally any with Mob. He’s such a good boy.
7: What’s the most hilarious moment to you?gotTA PUMP SOME IRONsorry duDE TOUGH BREAKwoAH ITS HEAVY okletsgo(pff other than so many lines from the dub, uh, I’m not too sure. Right now I can only think of how funny the whole situation with that Shirt™ in the Divine Tree arc is, and like the school festival in which for like a panel Ritsu is forced to dress like a maid and Shou is there. NO WAIT. I KNOW. Justifiable Self Defense. We’re not too sure it’s justifiable, but he’s yelling it anyways. also: OOHHH. HE FUCKING APPEARED! There’s probably others. I can’t remember them rn. OH well, guess I better reread the manga…..).
8: Favorite and least favorite arc?hmmmmm….The angst pit inside of me wants to say my fave is the Mogami arc, because of how fucking sad it could be (or the way it can spawn fics about it like nobody’s business) but honestly I don’t really have any favorites or least favorites. They all have their pros and their cons, but they’re all really good.
9: Which antagonist could you never forgive?Mogami. Hands down.
10: Do you have any OC’s?Nope. But there is an oc I saw once on this hellsite which was a cat named Milk that Mob owns and I fully support that hah.
11: Did you watch the anime or read the manga first?Anime. Subbed. Then went for the manga, then to the dub hah.
12: Would you visit Spirits and Such Consultation Office (if you didn’t know any better)?Hm. I dunno. Probably would be too lazy to seek out help if I thought a spirit would be on me or smth, or haunting a place. Maybe if it was Real Bad.
13: Are there any specific MP 100 artists/writers you admire?Uhm. Idk, I tend to not actually look at who is the OP on an art post or who writes a fic. I’ll edit this if I find out some good ones (there’s one artist I’m thinking of on here and they do real good arts, they do comics based on fics (one was on this court thing where Mob was dead by Teruki’s hand b/c the choking thing, the other was on an au fic where Mob was kidnappeped and Reigen ended up rescuing him and they hadn’t met before that idk I have yet to read it myself) and there’s a fic on ao3 that I am always waiting for the next installment, even if it’s been 20 seconds since I read the last chapter. That story’s linked below, and you can see other authors I’ve linked too).
14: Are there any MP 100 fanfics you HAVE to rec?(this answer is So Long I am So Sorry I just have A Lot Of Love)Ohhhh boy. You’ve done it now. You’ve awakened the Beast™. Fanfics are my forte. I’ve gone through all of them on ao3. Don’t fuckin test me on this.Ok so first off, if you want all the stories I’ve gathered off of ao3 (My picking process: Ignoring all stories with incest or an adult x a kid (or ships I don’t particularly care for), is the fic well written with a good plot? then onto the list it goes. Or if its bad enough to be good. That too.) you can just ask me for the fics and I can either share the googledoc with you or send you the links in another way. Some of my favorites from the list, tho, are as follows (in order of which I read them):Color in a Monochrome Worldby Sifl is a really good introspective series on many different characters, set after the World Domination arc. Sifl also wrote a companion piece, Vertigo.Extracurricular Education is a series by entrenched about Shigeo and his growth as he works for Reigen. It’s real cute, they’re good bros, I love it. A few stories takes place after the Mogami arc and reference it.Turning Slowly by sorrow_key is a fic about how Shigeo knows what unrequited love feels like b/c of Tsubomi, so he can see through Teruki really easily. He feels like a liar pretending to not notice. (eventually becomes TeruMob), My notes say if you’re in the divine tree arc, then you’ll get any references made in the fic. Can’t remember what’s said, but it must reference something in that arc for me to have wrote that. One Step Forward, Two Steps Back by fireflysummers_ao3 is a fic in which Teru feels terrible after the Divine Tree arc (this was made before 97.uh. the chapter that came out this last Thursday, the 5th of Jan, so it may not be as accurate as it could be) and Shigeo just wants to be friends and help him out. After Divine Tree arc.Temporary Accommodations by Originia is an interesting fic where, through shenanigans, Shigeo’s body is kidnapped without his like, spirit thingy in it (using the strategy from the Mogami arc) and Reigen tries to rescue Shigeo (which Dimple is possessing in Mob’s absence). I fucking love Ritsu in this story holy shit. The Adventure of the Red Shoes by dyingplatypus. Ho. Ly. Fuck. If you only read one story, read this one. It’s funny, it’s quirky, it’s in character. It’s solving a paranormal case about haunted shoes, and Reigen being cursed. It feels like it could be an actual happening in the anime or something. Seriously. Read this one. It has a little reference to the World Domination arc cause Serizawa is in there but like. You could proooobably read it without reading the manga. He Just Likes Dogs by reiqenarataka nearly made me fucking cry in a dentists office. It’s about Reigen and dogs, what more could you want?Signed, Sealed, Delivered by entrenchedis a series centered around Teruki and his crush on Shigeo, even as Shigeo crushes on Tsubomi. He would rather never tell Mob and continue being friends, over risking their friendship by confessing.do make tomorrow a sunny day by dyingplatypus is a series based off an au I mention in the next question. The AU is one in which Shigeo is taken by Claw at a young age, and thus works for them currently. Ritsu grew up without a brother, only knowing he had a brother at some point who presumably died. Both Shou and Shigeo are a part of Claw and work for it, and things Shigeo took care of during the normal universe didnt happen. (LOL) is a growing and powerful cult, Teru still wants to fight people. There’s many different perspectives in the series and they all add up to a unique experience (I’m still real fuckin amused by what Teru thinks of Shigeo in the first chapter of his POV fic)tomorrow isn’t always another day by suitablyskippy is another good fic on par with The Adventure of the Red Shoes. It’s also quirky, funny, in character, and shows Shigeo and Reigen solving cases. Of a haunted copy machine. Which Mob is preeeetty sure they solved yesterday. And the day before. And the day before that….Three by Ravenesta is an outsider POV story from a teacher’s perspective, on Shigeo Kageyama and his mysterious third emergency contact, Reigen Arataka. It’s pretty cool, and shows some good shit. Return. Continue. by UncannyCookie. A series. Takes place after Mogami arc, Shigeo isn’t doing too well, hands feeling too itchy and wrong after he was driven to choking someone in that unreal world. It’s bad. He’s fine. Teru tries his best to help. The second story, though, Teru is acting weird and Shigeo wants to help him but he swears he’s fine. (also has some of my fave tags: “Teru is not a natural blond, that’s the real drama here”). This is the fic I find myself waiting for updates with bated breath. It’s so good and interesting. Love that shit.
15: Do you have a favorite AU?I don’t know of too many aus, but most are real good. I like the art I see of the ageswap thing, where Mob is the adult and Reigen is the kid, although I don’t tend to read the fics about it. Idk why. But there are other good aus too, like any where Mob ends up being raised by Reigen. There’s an interesting one on ao3 I saw where Mob was taken by claw at a young age and now kinda like…works for them? Idk. It’s good though.
16: What would be your first or basic psychic skill (telekinesis, pyrokinesis, hydrokinesis, ect)?Honestly telekinesis. I’d fuckin own that shit, being too lazy to get up and grab things myself. I’d probably be like, hah, my pop is on the table literally inches from my hand. If only I could just float it over to myself! And then it does and I’d be like Holy Shit. Also, using telekinesis on yourself (if it’s strong enough) allows you to basically fly? I’d train til it’s that level and then I would be the least athletic person in existence.
17: Do you like milk?I really like strawberry milk. I only have normal milk if I dip a cookie in it. Sometimes chocolate is ok too. And I only really have whole milk cause it tastes the best.
18: What headcanons do you have for (character)?I mean u didn’t provide a character uhm. There’s so many. Me and @pundeserving have been talking and whenever I come up with some headcanon I tell her and she may or may not add it to her headcanon list. Usually she does. It’s very good and if you wanna hear some shit about a certian character feel free to ask abt them specifically.
19: Would you hone your basic psychic skill or try to learn different ones? Both? If possible? I’d like to get my telekineses to a point where I can move myself with little to no effort, but having basic version of other powers would also be nice (like psychokinesis to light a candle or warm up some cold soup or smth)
20: Would you try to use your psychic powers for personal gain or only if you had to?I mean, if it’s (like i mentioned above) heating up soup, that’s kinda personal gain hah no but seriously if it’d unfairly advantage me above other people (in a sport or something) or harm someone else, I wouldn’t do it. I’d use it for little things like retrieving something that’s out of reach or smth, or if worse comes to worse, to protect my friends or family,  if there are no other viable options.
