Hello!!! It is Christmas season! I know it is late for most of this. But when you see this I NEED you to look so hard. My mama has an Etsy shop, and she’s super self conscious about her art, she calls it a seamstress’s hobby, but it’s beautiful.

She still uses the account my sister made for them when she wanted to try business and selling art and my mom was backing her 100%, I’m working on building her a new one that’s not Etsy but I’m not sure what sites are good. Preferably any suggestions for sites would also be able to be like a gallery, for things she doesn’t want to sell or just to showcase her work! If any of my art besties or sale besties have suggestions, I would love that.

Also, if you’re looking for a nice handmade gift that’s on the pricey end because it’s handmade, her stuff is timeless. Or if you know rich people or if your parents like you enough to post Facebook posts you wrote for them. Pretty please boost for my lovely mama.

like my personal Advice To You if you’re a small artist with a modest amount of success selling your designs on RedBubble, like maybe you make a couple hundred dollars... You’ll make so much more money just buying some sticker paper, self-adhesive laminate sheets, stamps and envelopes and just starting a little Etsy shop. 

#you don't even have to have any resources you can print stickers on your home printer #and get some art prints made if you wanna do that #Obviously RB is much easier for mugs and shirts and more complex merch. that takes upfront payment from you #but so many people just buy stickers and prints from RB? and they're so easy to make? #the first month I had an Etsy shop I made x5 the amount that I'd normally get from RB #by selling the same amount of stuff #that's how big of a cut RB took. and their quality aint even that great #and my art kept getting stolen on there. and my account got hacked and it was really EASY to hack #and RB didn't do anything abt the money that was stolen from there. soooo. #sergle.txt #and if you're scared to branch out. you can have them both up at the SAME time #with Etsy being less expensive to encourage people to buy from there instead.

I'm still rotating in my mind the idea of selling stuff I make but well. I do a lot of different stuff through different fiber crafts and I have no idea if it would help or not to have so much stuff instead of one precise direction

I need advice!

So I’m going back up to my college town soon. I come home in the summers to work- I have a really great job here that pays well. I’m taking significantly less intensive classes this upcoming semester- I’m doing a 5th year to fulfill some extra certifications- I’m an alum of all the extra curriculars I was in.

I have a Butt Ton of FREETIME!!!

This being said, I want to start building up some savings. I’ve had a lot of medical issues going on that I finally want to address (joint replacement surgeries n what not) and having some money at the ready for when that happens would be be immensely helpful.

This all being said, I have no clue how to do anything involving selling art. I make a ton more art that isnt Star Wars themed, and can make art in numerous styles that would be GREAT for stickers, prints, ect.

I just Don’t Know How.

If anyone knows a great YouTube video, account, blog, literally anything that could help me figure that all out- that would be so immensely helpful.
