Day 984
Tumblr media
New art piece today!
Here is a commission by @juiceofcoconut of Atlatonan/Maisy Mosasaur!
Specifically her when she's not being her fun, bubbly streamer persona.
She takes on a whole new form as the deadly warrior goddess, the Blade of Tlalocan.
Originally the princess of Tlalocan, she found that position so restrictive and decided to rebel to find more freedom.
After a tumultuous relationship with Tezcatlipoca ended, she found herself being princess in name only and without nearly as much adoration from others.
The anger at essentially being kicked to the curb made her take up the spear and become this battle hardened warrior you see before you.

There is only FOUR scenes in media to date that make me feel things consistently. Those scenes are:
• Aunt May's death scene in Spider-Man PS4. That scene hits so hard, mostly because we spend so much time talking to her, hearing about her, and if you do the side missions, learn more about the history. And with the context of Spider-Man 2 also added onto the mix, it only hits harder.
• The scene in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom where all of the dinosaurs are running away from the volcano. The desperation, the hopelessness, knowing that most of them aren't going to make it, it hurts. Especially once you see all of them running off of the edge, so desperate for safety that they don't pay attention and they fall. And you realize, they don't know how to swim. At all. And a bonus for that scene, when they're all being loaded up and they seem to be in all sorts of pain, along with the scene on the boat when they are sailing away from Isla Nublar.
• Later on in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom when Maisie lets all of the dinosaurs. That line of, "They're alive. Like me." Hits so hard, especially with the emotion in their voice, plus the preface of the poison getting so close to killing all of them, of making dinosaurs extinct once again (they don't know about the Mosasaur being loose), and the pure shock, and utter defeat. Claire having to make the decision not to release them into the world due to the future consequences, of being an activist for dinosaurs staying alive but having to basically be the one to kill them all once again, this time for humanity. Then they turn away to watch, and this kid, who had just learned she was a clone not even two hours ago, released them due to a shared kinship.
• The scene in Jurassic World: Dominion where Maisie addresses Claire and Owen as her parents. The denial up to that point, the insistence that she's not important, makes the scene amazing. The shock and glee at seeing them. A bonus for the gushing about the leads from both the JP trilogy and the JW trilogy trading notes.
All of these scenes hit so goddamn hard, and they never cease to make me feel something EVERY TIME. I know two of these for scenes come from the same movie, but Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is a movie jammed full of big emotional moments. It's why out of the JW trilogy, it's my favorite. And yes, that means a grand total of three out of four scenes come from the JW trilogy, sue me. The Jurassic World trilogy is really good, and so full of moments that deserve praise, because they are so goddamn amazing. The characters feel like real people with real development. It's just... It's amazing.

My opinion on Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous (SPOILERS)
Like many people interested in the Jurassic franchise, I binge-watched that show back in september and here are my thoughts.  First of all, I precise that I had no expectations for the series as the combo Jurassic World + kid show didn’t attracted me at all, and the trailers have done nothing but confirm my fears.
Let’s start by the positive: - Amidst the cringefest that the first episodes were, the scenes with Darius back home stand out from the rest by their quality as they are centred more on drama and character development and not on clumsy comedy like the scenes on Nublar. The idea of getting an access to Jurassic World and Camp Cretaceous as a reward for beating that virtual reality game reminded me the recruitment of Eli Wallace by the SGC at the very beginning of Stargate Universe. - Starting from the beginning of the season’s second half, the series gets better and a little more mature in its unfolding and writing, up to the point where it doesn’t seem targeted for young children but rather young teens. Some dumb scenes remain however (like the one of the geneticist Eddie, abandoned in the lab with the sole company of his birthday cake). - There is a few action and suspenseful scenes that aren’t bad in the second half with, among other things, a hide-and-seek game with the Indominus amidst the containers, a part in the tunnels that can remind some people of Telltale’s game, a monorail attack by the pteranodons which should have deserved a live-action treatment, and a climax in a storage area where the protagonists have to use their wits in order to defeat the carnotaur and escape from the underground network. On the matter of the carnotaur, one can note a nice paleontological reference with its difficulty to turn when it is chasing prey. - Of all of the characters, Roxie is the most realistic, responsible and reasonable one (and the only tolerable one in the first episodes). And let’s bring now the negative aspects: - On the matter of the original soundtrack, I don’t remember any of the original themes sadly. As I had the same problem when I viewed The Witcher though (I didn’t liked its first season but I rather well appreciated its soundtrack following a separated listening), I will wait for the release of the soundtrack before criticizing it further. - The first episodes are a total farce with a succession of all kinds of nonsenses with the bunch of stereotypical buffoons that the kids are that are involved in stupid acts by the night of their first day, acts that fall under Reversed Darwinism (the survival of the most idiotic like Grant would say in Jurassic Park 3) and that gave me the desire to give some slaps and send those Kennys to a firing squad (for the crimes of property destruction and, above all, endangering dinosaurs and employees); the infringements during the activities of hygiene and security rules that are applied in many theme parks and laboratories around the world (with the kids wandering around in the lab and touching to everything in a total dissidence; running down a zipline and brushing past brachiosaurs...); the counsellor Dave which talks to Wu like if he was an old pal of his while Wu is one of the highest corporate executive around and someone famous and respected in-universe; Wu being depicted with the subtlety of a fat beer-drunk sea lion (with his mannerisms and attitude worthy of a James Bond villain, we know right away that he is bad); cartoony action scenes (I mean bloody hell. Look at that Parasaurolophus that jumps off the jeep’s roof like he was a fookin’ kangaroo while the jeep itself wasn’t miraculously crushed under the hadrosaur’s weight); the employees and the park’s security being shitty (one enter so easily in the underground network that Biosyn could organise rave parties there right under InGen’s nose; Darius and Kenji being left with no supervision in the middle of the jungle while they are supposed to shovel shit as a punishment); the dinosaurs that passes too as incompetent for failing to kill the kids while such situations in real-life or in the first films would have unforgiving or barely forgiving but only at a certain cost. - Despite the ordeals they are going through, the kids seems to be never traumatised or at least shaken like the Murphys, Kelly Malcolm or Maisie were respectively in JP, TLW and FK since here, they seems to be in shock for a moment or two before starting again to squabble or quipping once they are away from danger. - At the end of the monorail attack scene, I thought that the writers had the balls to kill off Ben  and I would have tipped my hat to this narrative decision and give more credit to this kid show if we didn’t had the reveal at the end that he was still alive. At the end, we just got another Billy Brennan situation. - Bumby is useless in this season, aside from encouraging toy sales and being the show’s cute caution and still, it’s relative as her closeups along with Brooklynn’s rapy face in episode 2 have scared me more than the predators’ attacks in the season’s second half. And her growth rate is so fucked up as she hatch in episode 2 before reappearing in episode 5 I think which is supposed to be set two days later, where she is already the size of a bulldog. And the scene where she cries while the kids are being kicked off the lab (for understandable reasons) is so ridiculous... - Aside from in the action and suspenseful scenes mentioned above in the positive aspects, the use and depicting of dinosaurs is either anecdotal, either WTF with the Sinoceratops being almost as gentle as a lamb (try to do with a hippo or a rhino what the Kennys did with the sino, I wouldn’t mind some funny antics...). I’m not a fan of the bioluminescent Parasaurolophus and their scene either. It seems like they wanted to copy the Na’vi River Journey’s attraction from Animal Kingdom in Orlando, with semi-aquatic parasaurs worthy of some outdated depictions from the last century.   - Visually speaking, the universe and the artistic direction are poor. The jungle has the same look everywhere on the island (with trees of average height being relatively spaced from one another while the ground is covered with grass) and its scenery never seem foreboding or ominous while Isla Nublar and Isla Sorna were, in some way, entire characters in the films that sometimes aroused an eerie sense of mystery and danger, at east in the original trilogy and Fallen Kingdom. The park itself is quite empty too, even before the evacuation. There is only scene with a large amount of people and the latter seems to all share the same model and the same animation in addition of being blurred (probably as a camouflage for the lack of budget) and we don’t believe in this world as nothing grand comes out of the visited locations (aside from maybe the eponymous Camp Cretaceous) and that everything seems so bland, with even the employees being of the same corpulence, age group and behaviour except for a few exceptions. - Finally, let’s discuss about the coherence with the Jurassic World film, of which this show is supposed be a canon interquel. Even though if there is several nods to some of the latter’s events (Masrani’s helicopter is seen a couple of times; the Kennys take the ACU’s van; they walk past Zach and Gray’s destroyed gyrosphere and the killed ankylosaur’s body...)  as well as other materials of the franchise, including JP3 and Masrani Global website, like if the show wanted to tell us “Hey look! I did my homework!” in order to please the fans. It’s one thing to make references to the rest of the saga and it’s easy actually, but it’s another to use them for something else than just fan-service. Despite all this, Camp Cretaceous has its share of inconsistencies with Jurassic World. I won’t list them all since it wouldn’t be that interesting but among other things, we have the mention of fences falling apart across the entire island while nothing like this happened in JW (it seems they mixed up the JP and JW incidents) or at least not on this scale; the kids visit a lab somewhere north of the park whose existence seems a bit off as the Innovation Center’s lab can do everything that lab does, in addition of housing Wu’s secret lab; the surroundings of the mosasaur lagoon which seems empty by the end of the afternoon while chronologically speaking, the scene is supposed to happen just after the pterosaurs attack (and thus the area should be crawling with employees that are looking for eventual late visitors, or the still running security cameras could have spotted the kids) and why did those foolish Kennys didn’t thought of going to the nearby hotels right after the ordeal with the mosasaur instead of hanging around in the bleachers up until sunset, hotels where a large number of visitors are supposed to be found up until quite late in the night according to the Jurassic World film? Anyway, Camp Cretaceous might have got a kick up the backside halfway through and the quality of the episodes did increased little by little but the whole season stays nevertheless mediocre and the viewing of the series is honestly quite dispensable, especially if you were disappointed by the Jurassic World films. Some will probably tell me that I’m being too hard with a kids show but actually, the fact that it is targeted for kids is no excuse for some flaws like a lack of ambition in the artistic direction, the shitty humour or the wtf scenes. Whether a work is for adults, for all audiences, or for kids, the creative investment and the work quality should stay the same.

Tim thanks them all for coming and there is some banter between all of the characters. Tim then explains that some Government officials wish to kill The Ingen Dinosaur clones but have not yet been granted permission. Tim states he believes; Ian Malcom is right in that these dinosaurs should never have been created. However, he says they are not monsters, he tells them he has established a company called Green-Gen. Green-Gen has brought a nature preserve in New Zealand where the herbivorous Dinosaurs can roam freely in peace. Green-Gen also has a Zoo in Australia where they want to keep the Carnivorous Dinosaurs caged to be looked after. He then says in The United Kingdom they have a massive Aquarium for the Mosasaur. He states that he seeks everyone's help in capturing these Dinosaurs.
There is debate amongst people in the room as Alan thinks they are crazy. Ellie and Claire argue about the dinosaurs, Ellie believing they are monsters, and Claire believing they are mystifying. Sarah Harding takes the stance that the Dinosaurs should be rescued. In the end everyone agrees to help. Owen Grady says that Bio-Syn has kidnapped Maisie, Naomi Timbo says that this is where they should start.
Scene 12: In Lockwood Forest a baby Triceratops has gotten lost, it bumps into a bear which looks like it is about to kill it. However a Dilophosaurus appears at ten feet in length, it tries to blind the bear but misses, the Dilophosaurus then chases the bear.

Senator Greeves agrees with him.
Scene 14: In Moscow, Russia there is a massive building labelled 'Bio-Syn'. In the middle of the building is an open room paddock. Two Giraffes are running. Barry is on a  bridge and is doing drills. Blue The Velociraptor seems to be leading a pack. Barry shouts the names; White, Purple, Pink, Yellow, Ginger, Red, Green and Silver. Seven Black female Indoraptors appear; they have different coloured markings on their backs (the colour of their markings is the name given to each of them). The seven females are listening to Barry and following Blue's orders. Barry now shouts for; Poseidon, Hades and Zeus. Poseidon is a male Indoraptor with blue markings on his back, and Hades one with grey markings. Most of the Indoraptors are 10ft tall, 25ft long and weighting 1 tonne. Zeus is the biggest Indoraptor at 12 ft tall, 28ft long and weighing 2toones. He is Black with gold markings. These three Indoraptors obey Barry too, and follow Blue like the females.
Scene 15: The CEO of Bio-Syn a man named Grig Lvovich is watching on a screen outside with Henry Wu. Grig states that the animals are ready to be sold off to the Russian army, he praises Wu for obtaining the tissue of the dead Indoraptor at lockwood manor. Grig also states that due to Owen Grady's work the Russian Army will be the most formidable in the world. Wu however warns that another company Mantah Coop took an Allosaurus and Baryonyx aswell as DNA Viles at the Lockwood Manor auction three years ago. In response; Grig states that he hopes he's one step ahead. Wu smiles saying "Of course".
Scene 16: The two go into a room; where Maisie Lockwood is being kept. Maisie complains that she wishes to go home and wants nothing to do with them. Grig sits Maisie on his lap and talks about his own daughter, he says she'll be apart of greatness.
Dr Wu says that he is studying Maisie the clone child, she looks hurt at this comment. Dr Wu now shows a diagram saying he is attempting to use humans as the basis for a new animal. One that will combine the DNA of Indoraptors, and humans to create super soldiers. Dr Wu says that the first being will be ready to make in month and with growth hormones he will be fully grown in a year. Grig is amazed and Maisie is horrified.
Scene 17: In the night the Green-Gen team get off of a plane; (Owen, Claire, Alan, Ellie, Sarah, Zia, Zach, Nick and Naomi); there also seems to be a few soldiers with equipment with them. They get into the Bio-Syn building. In her room Maisie is listening; she comes out; Owen and Claire are relieved to see her.
Scene 18: The ten Indo-raptors surround them at every side. Owen and Claire are shocked to see there are more of these hybrids. Gig and Dr Wu show themselves, security guard comes with others and Barry who is commanding the Indo-raptors. Owen starts speaking to Barry asking him how he could do this, to which Barry says it is to provide for his family. Alan Grant meanwhile is stunned and fascinated by the Indo-raptors. Dr Wu remembers Alan and Ellie from Jurassic Park in 1993. The three have a discussion about Dinosaurs. Wu talks about how he keeps pushing the boundaries of Science. He talks about The Spinosaurus on Isla Sorna being the first hybrid; which was a Spinosaurus, Baryonyx, Suchomimus and Salt Lake Crocodile. How the Mosasaurus is a hybrid of different Mosasaurs, then he took gene splicing to a new level with the Indominous Rex. Now he plans to create super humans with Indoraptor DNA. Alan and Ellie counter argue him with Ian's Chaos Theory. Dr Wu talks about how his Science is always underappreciated. Blue now appears behind Dr Wu. Dr Wu starts trying to command Blue, stating that she is his creation. Blue does not like his tone of voice, she recognises Owen and confronts him, to everyone's surprise she submits to him and starts communicating with the Indo-raptors. Barry reveals Blue is like the Indoraptors mother, having raised them and now that she has submitted to Owen they all see him as their Alpha. Blue leads The Indo-raptors into killing the Bio-Syn Soldiers as Owen and Naomi use laser guns to point at them. Grig is killed by the mighty Zeus. Dr Wu is running away. Scene 19: Henry Wu is by the entrance, when Blue confronts him, she kills him and then slices open his gut.
Scene 20: The Indoraptors are in a plane in cages with soldiers on it. Flying infront is the other Green-Gen with the team on it; Blue is free roaming and everyone is frightened except for Owen and Barry. Owen is on the phone to Tim, and we hear Tim saying he liked the idea of using the Indoraptors to capture the Dinosaurs in Lockwood forest.
Scene 21: Ellie Satler and Alan Grant are in a room in Jack Hammond's estate, they are facetiming Ian Malcom who is on a chopper sitting next to Senator Greeves. Ian is horrified to learn that Green-Gen plans to use Velociraptor/Tyrannosaurus Rex hybrids to capture other Dinosaurs, he persuades Ellie and Alan to release the dinosaurs once they've captured them saying they will get out of control and his team will be near by to kill them. Alan and Ellie agree but guiltily look at each other as Ian states it will be for the over-arching greater good. Ian hangs up on them.
Ian and Senator Greeves are in a chopper with a bald hard looking soldier named Bronson Franklyn, there choppers all around them. Greeves tells Ian "Thank God, we got permission to kill the Pterosaurs they've caused so much trouble, this will go such a long way in winning our court case against Green-Gen". We then see a montage of these choppers flying across California  to shoot all the Pterosaurs to death.
Scene 22: An Apatosaurus is grazing in Lockwood Forest. Owen Grady rides in on a motor bike with Blue and the ten Indo-raptors, flying on a chopper is Naomi. It is trapped though; there is a bit of a struggle. Naomi tranquilises it and the animal falls, and is captured.
Scene 23: A montage is shown of the Indo-Raptors and Blue hunting; Deinonychus, Elaphrosaurus , Teratophoneus, Hadrosaurus, five Stygimoloch , 5 Sinoceratops, 5 Parasaurolophus, a Pachyrhinosaurus, six Gallimimus, A Brachiosaurus, two more Apatosaurus, 5 stegosaurus, one Diplodocus, 3 Anklysosaurs and two Baryonyx, one Dilophosaurus, Two Carnotaurus, one Suchomimus and Three Allosaurus. They are tranquilised and trapped in cages.
Scene 24: Green-Gen has made a camp sight by the forest; all the animals are going to be moved to the abandoned San-Diego Jurassic Park facility whilst the Herbivores wait to be moved to New Zealand and the Carnivores to Austrailia if they are allowed to live. Alan and Ellie are by the animals, Ian is on the phone telling them to let the Dinosaurs loose. Alan however has a change of heart. Saying; "Perhaps these Dinosaurs aren't 'Genetic Theme Park Monsters' after all." Ian is disappointed in them and says "The Dinosaurs will die with or without them". The Dinosaurs are seen; being moved to the San-Diego facility.
Scene 25: In Tokyo, Japan, the Tyrannosaurus Rex; Rexy (13 ft tall, 44ft long, 7tonnes) is on display in a circus called 'Rexy: The Tyrannosaurus Rex.' She is mistreated and made fun of similar to most circus animals in real life. It is ran by a small middle-aged Japanese man named Mr Wan.
Scene 26: This leads into a scene; where The Green-Gen team are watching videos of Rexy being abused in the circus on Youtube. Zia Rodriguez and Sarah Harding are angry at the way Rexy is being treated. Alan and Ellie on the other hand have horrible memories of Rexy and believe it maybe best for her to be put down. Claire has memories of Rexy saving her and Owen indirectly a few times. She says Rexy is an animal not a monster.
Scene 27: In Tokyo, Japan; Zia and Zach sneak into the circus and let Rexy out of her cage. Mr Wan sees and gets angry but Rexy eats him. Green Gens plans go wrong as they are waiting to catch her by the massive entrance walls; Rexy crashes through a different wall and begins a rampage in Tokyo.
Scene 28: Rexy is toppling over cars whilst people are screaming. Rexy gets interested in a bus with school children on it. Owen Grady, Blue and the ten Indo-Raptors surround Rexy, she fights a little with Zeus, when she pushes him away; in the sky Naomi in a chopper is able to shoot her with a tranquiliser dart, Rexy falls and the children celebrate clapping for Owen and The Indo-Raptors. Rexy is being seen being carted away on a plane. Alan Grant talks to Ellie Satler about how Owen Grady's work with Raptors is amazing.
Scene 29: The shot of Rexy being carted away then leads to the shot being placed on a tv screen; a news reporter is reporting on it. She states that Green-Gen and their Indo-Raptors have been able to contain the Dinosaurs in Lockwood Forest in California and the Tyrannosaurus Rex in Tokyo, Japan with relative ease. The reporter says that despite Dr Ian Malcolm's and Senator Greeve's argument that the Dinosaurs should die; it seems the Government is likely to rule in favour of Green-Gen considering how successful they have been.
Scene 30: An arrogant 'snobbish' couple called the Dawsons; are enjoying a cruise on a medium sized ship going from Valenzuela to Spain. In the North Atlantic Ocean the couple spot the 100 ft long Mosasaurus. The Mosasaurus attacks the ship, people fall off and are eaten. Others try to escape on life boats. The Mosasaurus is catching and eating them; the water starts turning red from all the blood that is being spilled. The Mosasaurus sinks the entire ship. The Dawsons are on a life boat and hear a helicopter nearby, hundreds of people have died.
Scene 31: We now go to a court case; that takes place in Northern California. The Green Gen lawyer is called Mrs Warren and Senator Greeves Lawyer is called Mr Ford. Warren has just finished talking about The Indo-Raptors rounding up the Dinosaurs showing they are animals not monsters; who actually obey commands and can coexist with humans. But Mr Ford points out the amount of deaths that have occurred because of the Dinosaurs since 1993. He says 100s of people died just a week ago in The Mosasaur's attack on a ship in the North Atlantic Ocean. Both Ian Malcom and Claire Dearing give speeches trying to sway the jurors.
Scene 32: Outside of the court Ellie Satler and Sarah Harding have a confrontation with Ian Malcom about animal cruelty and the chaos theory. In the end Ellie leaves and Sarah questions Ian's morals and hopes he's proud of himself. She says "It seems we're just not compatible.".
Scene 33: All the Dinosaurs that have been captured are being admired in The San Diego Jurassic Park including Rexy, Blue and the ten Indoraptors. Flashing back between this and court, the Judge asks the head juror what the verdict is; to which she says the Dinosaurs are declared too dangerous and need to be put down. Claire can be heard shrieking as Owen tries to calm her down. The Judge gives them one week to put them all down.
Scene 34: The Mosasaurus is chasing a seal in the Labrador Sea; Choppers hover near by; The Mosasaurus is caught in a similar way to how the nearly 100ft Blue Whale would be in real life, on one of The Choppers Bronson Franklyn can be seen.
Scene 35: The Green-Gen members admire all of the Dinosaurs that are captured in the San Diego facility. Alan Grant reminisces on The Brachiosaurus he first witnessed in 1993 in Jurassic Park, everyone is amazed by his story. Owen Grady gets a phone call, and it is from a top CIA Agent called Agent Rutherford. Rutherford says that Mantah Coop has created a pack of Allosaurus and Baryonyx which they have given to the Nigerian Government; they are planning to use the animals to attack Monrovia, Liberia by the sea.
Rutherford said they do not want to see a loss of life, and perhaps if the Indoraptor pack is used to hunt these dinosaurs; the decision to kill the Green-Gen Dinosaurs may be reversed. Owen tells the others what is going on; they encourage him to do the counter attack with the Indo-raptors Alan says he believes the Dinosaurs deserve a chance after all. Claire Dearing is worried for Owen, but he says he'll be alright and Naomi states that she is going with him.
Scene 36: In Monrovia Liberia, in the city behind the beach everything has been evacuated as The Liberian army awaits for what they believe is the Nigerian Army, having had a tip off. Just beyond the beach there are Liberian Submarines in the Gulf Of Guinea. On a chopper in the sky is a Nigerian commander he says "Release them now." In the city a massive truck opens it's doors slowly as ten Allosaurus (12ft tall, 30ft long, 2tonnes) are released on the soldiers and in the water four Baryonyx and one Suchomimus attack the submarines. The animals have been raised together and therefore can coexist.
Scene 37: There is a big battle in the city. Two Allosaurs are taken down by tanks, however the tanks are destroyed by the remaining eight Allosaurs. The Allosaurs then start hunting all the soldiers who are hiding in buildings. Meanwhile, the four Baryonyx and one Suchomimus tear into the Submarines and kill the soldiers as the ocean begins to turn red. One soldier is able to hit a Baryonyx with a missile and it dies. However, the Suchomimus and three other Baryonyx kills the last few soldiers in the sea. Back in the city; The Allosaurs chase the soldiers all over. In brutal scenes the Allosaurs kill all the soldiers, except for one soldier called Jake who is hiding behind some bins in an alleyway, two Allosaurs are nearby picking up his scent, he believes his life is over but suddenly Blue The velociraptor's croaky roar can be heard.
Scene 38: Owen Grady rides in to the city on a motorcycle with Blue The Velociraptor and ten Indo-raptors following the ten Indo-raptors run ahead and collide with the eight remaining Allosaurs.
Scene 39: Meanwhile, in the Gulf Of Guinea; on the chopper the Nigerian Commander wishes to move the three remaining Baryonyx and one Suchomimus into the city to kill the Indo-raptors, however, one of the Baryonyx is taken by surprise as The Mosasaurus appears and kills it throwing it. On a different chopper in the sky; Bronson Franklyn is watching on, indicating he released the Mosasaur on to them.
Scene 40: The battle between The Allosaurs and Indo-raptors continues. The dinosaurs go in and out of the big buildings. Naomi comes on a chopper. Silver and Yellow are fighting two Allosaurs on a roof top, the two Indo-raptors are losing: Naomi provides the Allosaurs with a distraction. Silver and Yellow collide with the two Allosaurs, they all fall off the huge building to their deaths, eight Indo-raptors and six Allosaurs remain.
Scene 41: In the Gulf Of Guinea; the Mosasaur is fighting with the two Baryonyx (10 ft tall, 30ft long and 2-3 tonnes) and one Suchomimus (11 ft tall, 40 ft long, 4 tonnes). The Mosasaur begins to struggle as the three dinosaurs are tearing into it. They are trying to drown the Mosasaur and she is screaming in agony. Franklyn above realises this, and throws a bomb onto one of the Barynoyx as an explosion occurs.
Scene 42: The battle between the Allosaurs and Indo-raptors continues. The Indo-raptors are camouflaging. Jake is in awe of the battle. Owen leads the three male Indo-raptors against three Allosaurs. There is a terrible bloody battle. Zeus kills one Allosaur, Hades and Poseidon are killed; Zeus throws another Allosaur into a car and it dies. Zeus and the third Allosaur collide, Zeus kills it and roars in his victory.
Scene 43: The explosion in at the Gulf Of Guinea clears. The Baryonyx that the bomb hit has died. One last Baryonyx and The Suchomimus can be seen still alive. It appears the Mosasaur may also have died, in a chopper The Nigerian commander seems relieved. However, the Mosasuar appears and lunges at the Baryonyx killing it. The Suchomimus jumps on to the Mosasaur, it tries to drown her. There is a struggle under water, The Suchomimus on the Mosasaur's head. However, the Mosasaur powers out. Frightened, the Suchomimus tries to run onto the beach, but akin to the Indominous Rex's death the Mosasaur lunges and grabs the Suchomimus killing it and taking it into the water. Brooklyn Franklyn is watching on from above in his helicopter.
Scene 44: Back in the city; Three Allosaurs have killed Pink and Purple leaving Zeus, White, Green, Red and Blue The Velociraptor. Owen Grady drives his motor bike between the three Allosaurs and they statrt chasing him, they are ambushed and caught out by the Indo-raptors' tricks as they camouflage the Allosaurs are finally killed. As Naomi throws a missile at the last one, which dies.
Scene 45: Everyone begins to celebrate victory, however above the Nigerian Commander says to release them. A button is pushed and in separate trucks doors open to reveal; one Carcharadontosaurs Saharicus (13 ft tall,  and 43ft long and 7tonnes; has the Jurassic World Evolution design; with grey scales) and one Giganotosaurus Carolinii (12 ft tall, 45ft long and 10 tonnes; has the Jurassic world Evolution look green with the red Allosaur rings around it's eyes). They are vicious; Zeus, Red & Blue attack the Carcharadontosaurus whilst Owen leads Green and White into an attack on the Giganotosaurus. Naomi starts tyring to blast the two therapods. Carcharadontosaurus throws Red into a petrol station; she dies whilst Giganotosaurus is beating down the two female Indo-raptors.
Scene 46: Carcharadontosaurus turns and starts chasing Blue; who's running along a building. Zeus uses the distraction to push Carcharadontosaurus into a building; Naomi uses this to throw a missile and the building collapses on it as a big explosion occurs. Gigagontosaurus kills Green viciously but it too gets caught up in the explosion.
Scene 47: The explosion clears, Owen is up wondering if 'his' animals are still alive he sees that the Carcharadontosaurus has died, but the Gigagontosaurus comes up from behind him and looks to strike. However, Naomi attacks it on a chopper. She gets close and it knocks the chopper into another building causing another explosion; as it crashes to the ground.
Scene 48: The Gigagontasaurus again looks to round on Owen, but Blue croaks, it turns and sees her only for it to be ambushed on either side by White and Zeus. There is a huge three way battle as Jake is looking on. The two Indo-raptors are simply not enough as the Gigagontasuaurs snaps White's neck, it tosses her dead body away and roars.
Scene 49: Zeus can barely stand up; and the Gigagontasaurus starts coming towards Owen again; as if it knows he was the group's Alpha. Blue stands in the way and Blue and Gigagontasuaurs roar at each other. In a moment of bravery, Jake comes out towards the Gigagontasaurs shooting at it, the Gigagontasaurus eats him.
Scene 50: Angry with what has just happened; Owen gets on the motorcycle and charges at it; Blue and Zeus follow him. Whilst Blue jumps onto the Gigagontosaurus' back. Annoyed Gigagontosaurus strikes Owen away  with it's tail and throws Blue into water. The Gigagontosaurus knocks Zeus down. Zeus gets up very injured and roars at Gigagontosaurus, Gigagontosaurus roars back about to charge, when a missile directly hits it, an explosion occurs.
Scene 51: The Gigagontasaurus has finally died. Owen, Blue and Zeus get up still alive; he looks up to see Bronson Franklyn in a chopper, indicating he launched the missile that killed Gigagontasaurus. The man now gets down from the chopper as Owen commands Blue and Zeus not to attack. Owen finds Naomi in the chopper that got struck down. She is battered and injured; Owen acknowledges her as true soldier and she dies in his arms.
Scene 52: Owen and Bronson have a discussion as Bronson tells him about the battle between the Mosasaur and the Baryonyxes + Suchomimus. Telling Owen the Mosasaur has been recaptured and moved to the San Diego facility. Bronson mentions never seeing anything like this and praises Owen's research with the velociraptors. Owen says he wants no part in using Zeus and Blue in the army. Bronson says "well, how about the police force?".
Scene 53: In another court case; the President of Liberia is on stand to which he talks about the Indoraptors and even the Mosasaurus saving his country from alot of blood shed. Bronson Franklyn also testifies and shows video footage of Owen, Blue and Zeus catching criminals but not killing them; in Detroit, Michigan one of the worst cities for crime. Ian Malcolm looks at this horrified. The Judge asks the juror for a verdict to which she says they've decided that Green-Gens plans can be sanctioned and all the Dinosaurs are now in the protected species list. Everyone celebrates.
Scene 54: Outside of the court, Ian Malcolm walks out; he tries to speak to Senator Greeves who ignores him and walks past. Ian starts walking away, when Alan, Claire and Sarah stop him. He argues with Claire about the Dinosaurs being monsters not animals and Claire walks away annoyed. Alan talks about the chaos theory being correct. But the few Dinosaurs left should be allowed to live as he never thought he would witness a Raptor like creature take orders. Ian Malcolm says; "We will have to agree to disagree." He shakes Ian's hands saying "I'll drop it for now, but if there are any more incidents with these Dinosaurs he'll make sure they are all taken out". Alan smiles and walks away. Sarah and Ian now have a banterish argument that leads to them kissing.
Scene 55: In Cambourne-Redruth, Cornwall, England; is the Green-Gen Aquarium people are in the stands admiring the Mosasaur; amongst the people are Zach and Zia who are holding hands.
Scene 56: Resolution Island by New Zealand has been turned into; The Green-Gen nature preserve where all the herbivorous Dinosaurs roam freely. Circling the Island; admiring the animals are Tim Murphey and his husband Matt; Tim talks how this was John Hammond's dream as he listens to John Hammond's speech about the animals requiring human's absence in the 1997 speech at end of the Lost World. Tim and Matt kiss.
Scene 57: In Detroit Michigan; a gang of criminals are running, but stopped as Blue jumps on the other side of them, Zeus appears from behind them and they are trapped, Barry now shows himself and says; "Best to give your selves in."
Scene 58: In Melbourne, Australia; Alan Grant is walking with Ellie in the Green-Gen Zoo she looks uncomfortable as Rexy is seen roaring; Alan and Ellie hold hands and walk away together.
Scene 59: Claire, Owen and Maisie are driving in the countryside; Owen hopes Barry will be okay with Blue and Zeus, Claire and Owen have banter amongst themselves. As Maisie laughs in the back of the car, she notices a bird pass by and admires it as one of the last true living modern day Dinosaurs.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom *SPOILERS*
Tumblr media
Okay, so I went to see the new movie and I have to say, I loved it! I actually like it better than Jurassic World. And I love that film too. But JWFK was more intense than I thought it would be.
A lot of vocal naysayers are complaining about the writing and pacing, but honestly I think it all worked wonderfully in the context of the story. People are also upset about how shallow the bad guys motives were, but come on, some people are just in it for a quick cash grab and that’s how Eli Mills was thinking. He’s a shallow and short-sighted money-grubber, not some genius evil dictator in the making. And people are confused about Benjamin Lockwood and how Hammond never mentioned him, they think Lockwood was made up for the movie and that’s half true. In the first book, Hammond did have a partner but he died before the park could be realized. So Lockwood is kind of based on the book partner, plus Hammond not mentioning him in JP makes sense when they had a falling out so many years before.
Another thing i was pleased to see was the full Baryonyx scene, after watching it I’m even more convinced that it has a type of rabies. The amount of drool it was producing, the fact that lava hitting its head did very little to discourage it and the single-minded fury it had in trying to kill Claire and Franklin makes me think rabies for sure.
Tumblr media
Seeing the dinosaur stampede was a rush, and very sad. I know they’re all CGI but I did cry, especially when the poor Brachiosaur was enveloped by the pyroclastic flow on the dock...even moreso when Bayona stated it’s the same Brach from JP that Alan and Ellie first see...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I wish there was more Rexy in the film, but she’s still the queen, she rocked every scene she was in. Blue was awesome too, I love how they delved into her upbringing by Owen and how even after years she still saw him as her Alpha and backed him up with all she had. I thought it was hilarious when Owen wanted to take her somewhere safe but one look at the cage and she was like “Nope, I’m so done with you humans. See ya!”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I loved the beginning though, Rexy chasing the poor sod in charge of opening and closing the Mosasaur lagoon, only to have the poor guy get eaten by the Mosasaur herself. It was a great start, full of suspense and action and I thought it was a good way to throw us into the movie. I loved the Mosasaur showing up again at the end, hunting surfers. Sharks got nothing on her, lol.
Tumblr media
And I actually liked the character Wheatley...he’s a bad guy but he’s pretty funny, in a “you’re so dumb and are definitely gonna get eaten” kind of way, lol. I found him pleasingly slimy as a character, more than Hoskins in JW honestly.
Tumblr media
Now...the two things that I loved the most, Maisie Lockwood and the Indoraptor. Maisie is a typical kid, and in JP movies kids aren’t the big strengths in my opinion. Don’t get me wrong, I loved Grey in JW, but most of the kids featured in the movies annoyed me. Maisie is a good kid, she does typical little kid things like hiding in her bed when danger is about, most kids would have that reaction I think, but she’s also smart and she figures things out really quick, becoming a good ally for Claire and Owen. And at the end when she frees the dinosaurs because they’re “like her”, it made me feel things...compassion for her, a lost little girl that just found out she’s a clone, and fear because what happens if other people get it into their head that cloning humans is a good idea? What would that do to humanity?
Tumblr media
The Indoraptor...I like way more then Darcy (the Indominus Rex, they actually named her that behind the scenes, lol). I love how they made him look insane, the twitches and jerks it made while moving, how he tapped his toe claw when thinking and how smart he was. And yes, the Indo is a he, its been confirmed that he’s the first ever on purpose male dino made. I think he’s scarier then Darcy, in that he’s clearly more intelligent, but he’s also more crazy, his upbringing was clearly not a good one and with so much tweaking that Dr. Wu did to him its not wonder he’s not all there upstairs. Crazy and smart is never a good combo for something with that little self control.
Tumblr media
Also, I absolutely love that they used way more animatronics than Jurassic World, I think that’s what the franchise was missing, more realism and less CGI. (just a few shown)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Personally, I think this movie is one of my top faves in the franchise, my listing would have to be: Jurassic Park, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Jurassic World, Jurassic Park 3, The Lost World: Jurassic Park. Make fun if you want but yes, I list JP3 higher then TLW, lol.
Anyways, I just really wanted to voice my own opinion on the movie and if you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it!

MOD Review: Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom
(Warning: This contain spoilers so please avoid spoilers if you haven’t seen the movie or play the game)
Tumblr media
So Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom came out and my friend see this movie and he said “it’s guchi” and me watch the movie and it’s actually really good. But before me and my friend watch this he told me with that the movie is like The Lost World and I actually agree with him it is like Lost World! Hearing that blow my mind but then watching the movie it’s just so good. Also TBH everytime I watch Jurassic Park movie series I usually call out who’s gonna die in the movie which is kind of fun spotting who is gonna die in the movie. Each scene in the movie is really good and things I might remember (*gross sobbing*).
And now for the story:
(Before getting to this this involves Site B which said that the Site B is gone and half of all dinosaurs on there are gone too even the Spinosaurus due to climate changes. Which all the Dinosaurs are transfer to the park.)
It start off with two guys in the submarine scavenging the Indominuis Rex skeleton in the Mosasaurs den which they got the sample and die from the Mosasaur. While the other team above with the helicopter got the sample and the engineer yellow jacket guy trying to close the den and calling the marine guys but as Rexy came he did the most dumbest thing. He screams and run instead of standing still or something but he manage to escape when he catch the ladder of the helicopter. But nope the Mosasaur comes in and eat the yellow jacket dude and he didn’t close the den making it able to escape. Meanwhile news is broadcast the island saying the volcano is gonna blow up and destroy the whole island and the dinosaurs too and people are protesting the government to save the dinosaurs which they are refusing. Which is where Jeff Golblum comes in and take his shirt off to show his sexy body to the audience (that didn’t happen sorry lol). JK he comes in to tell them that the dinosaurs also have rights to live because they’r here before us and this is their world to live in. Claire return to join her team to free the dinosaur alongside with a hacker dude and vet girl (i don’t know much their names so i just calling them Vet and Hacker). The tv bring news that government made new rule if anyone bring them here will be punish which is dumb cause there also flying lizard dinosaurs that can live (lucky dinos).
Claire got a call which bring good news as she visit John Hammonds friend or relative big house. (RIP Richard Attenborough) She is brought with good news that John friend Benjamin found an island where the dinosaurs can be free to roam on and call it home and his assistant Mills tell Claire that Blue is still alive and is the last of her species (RIP Echo, Charlie, and Delta) and she need someone who can get her back calm and nice with out force. This bring or show Maisie who is grandaughter of Benjamin daughter who die in a car crash which she tells her grandpa what her mom was like but he never told her yet. So she goes to Owen who is building a house (which good construction) and try to convince him to come and get Blue and all dinosaurs off the island but he refuse and tell her to let Blue die which shock her as she leaves. This cut to the scene where Owen in his RV watching old videos of him and the baby raptors which he miss them all so much so he he change his mind and decided to come along with the gang to get Blue back. They got to the island with some solider alongside to help out too as we get a heartwarming moment as Vet sees one (maybe) her favorite dinosaur the Brachiosarus (This bring me memories back to when I was like very young I always wanna see a dinosaur like real dinosaurs come to life). As Hacker got to one of the building vents he got the powers on and trackers of all dinosaurs located on the map. Owen, Vet, and some soldiers go to get Blue while Claire and Hacker stay and look at the map giving them information on Blue while soldiers are out there getting dinosaur. As that happening the volcano is getting active so they’re going fast as they can till Owen found Blue. During this the soldiers reveal their true colors which turns out they’re here for Blue for something else.
As they tranq both Blue and Owen except one bullet in Blue body the Vet said she won’t live if she doesn’t get treated so she help them to bring Blue back to life as the Volcano began to act up shaking the island and unleashing lava. Owen laying on the ground and getting licked by a Pachyrhinosarus and escaping the lava by dragging his body away Claire and Hacker escape from the Baryonox (Not Rexy) out of the ladder tunnel door thing. This is when Owen runs to them yelling to run as a stampede of dinosaurs are running away from the volcano. The gang found a gyrosphere to get into but Owen didn’t get in when a Carnotaurus comes int to find something to eat before it dies but fights another dinosaur and got beaten by it. Rexy came in to stop the bull horn dinosaur to tel it to stop and just run away. As the Claire and Hacker are stuck in the gyrosphere in the water Owen came to get them out before they drown inside of it and Claire learn all of this is a lie and someone has betray them. But then seeing Rexy and the Baryonox carrying away they follow and seeing they’re getting their teeth and putting them in cages on the ship. As they got onto the ship as the volcano erupts they notice a cry in a distance as they lost the Brachiosarus who was running on the docks crying and begging to them to come back as it dies with the island making this scene actually sad.
As the Vet try to recover Blue wounds she ask them to get a blood doner which they turn to Rexy but Claire and Owen woke her up as they’re getting blood from her.  They got Blue the blood and the bullet out of her as to Maisie who discover the lab which show Owen with the raptors which she really likes and somewhat following what the raptors are doing. But learn that Mills is making a new hybrid call the Indoraptor which she was scared when seeing it and was lock in her room. Owen and Claire are on investigation to find out what they’re doing with the dinosaurs but was than caught and cage with the other dinosaurs and it turns out Mills is using this to get more money. As rich people came Mills kill Benjamin and Maisie escape her room finding out Mills kill her grandpa and seeing picture of her mom (I think). As dinos getting sells Owen and Claire escape with a help of a headbutting dinosaurs busting through the wall and cage too. But later meet Maisie who is sad that her grandpa pass away and show both Claire and Owen what Mills has made. Turns out the Indoraptor is only train and made for just killing if you have a lazer pointer to target at meaning this thing is just a murderous cat prototype. But as one of a familiar soldier tranq it in it’s cage and try to pull it’s teeth out he got his arm ripping off and this thing smiled as it was tricking him thinking it was asleep. Which than escape and kill 5 rich people and some soldiers too. When the gang try to escape Mills got frustrated and tell her that Maisie is actually Benjamin daughter brought back to life like the other dinosaurs till the Indoraptor came and killing the soldiers. This lead the Indoraptor to chase Owen, Claire, and Maisie the whole time which chase Maisie more. While thats happening Blue is feeling all better still cage up as both Hacker and Vet let Blue escape and kill the scientist who made the Indoraptor and 2 soldiers as three of them escape from the explosion but gas are being release to the cages which can kill the dinosaur if they don’t get out before the gas slowly kills them. We then learned that the Indoraptor can also open doors too as it creeping it’s long arms to Maisie but Owen come to shot it but trying to pretend it’s wounded it show that it’s kill is actually bulletproof as bullets just drop off the surface.
Blue comes in to save the day instead which some how Blue kick the shit out of this hybrid ass out of the window which is like holy shit did Rexy have steroids in her blood when donated to Blue. Claire came back with the lazer pointer as it trick the Indoraptor be stuck on not strong glass as Blue jump on it and killing it with the Triceratops skill horns making it a cool death scene. But Vet and Hacker found them to tell them that the dinos are gonna die if they don’t open the gates which will let them all loose to the wild. Claire doesn’t want to like release them to the wild and let them die but Maisie decided no they deserve to live and open the gate which is good choice TBH. As dino escape and Mills got tear in half from Rexy and Carnotaurus Blue leave Owen saying “she doesn’t want to be held captive I want to be free”. After all that Jeff Golblum tell them all that everyone is welcome to Jurassic World meaning now all dinosaurs are now everywhere as Rexy broke into the lion cage meeting the present day King, Mosey about to eat some surfers, and Blue running and now free traveling the world now seeing what the world is like now. And also Owen and Claire now taking care of Maisie.
So that’s JW Fallen Kingdom and I might give this one uhhh... 7.5/10
The movie is good and it might be better than the first Jurassic World. Even though this is like Lost World it still good and the characters are interesting and Jeff Golblum taking off his shirt cause it’s getting hot in the movie (JK again lol). One thing that got me like point down is some of the people are dumb to know what to do when they see a T Rex, They should have learn what they’re doing with hybrid dinosaurs, THEY LEFT BRACHY ALONE ON THE ISLAND QAQ BRACHY NOOOO, and not training the Indoraptor very well.
The new hybrid Indoraptor is very interesting which seeing it gave me some horror movie monster vibes and it’s personality like tricking it’s asleep and dead is like a smart move but training it to just kill with a lazer pointer is just dumb it can still kill you with out the lazer pointer! I know it’s just a prototype but geez some the people didn’t learn what happen to the Indominuis Rex.
What I can say about this movie is it’s really good and I like i. The characters are good, seeing Blue alive still is good, and just watching it still bring back memories like when I was a kid I want to see real dinosaurs and I have feel that what the movie like giving us like the feeling and nostalgia it has onto us and that poaching is bad again.
Welp that’s all I got to say but before I go~

On the Set of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom | Part Three | Moving Deeper into A Fallen Kingdom
Welcome back to the third and final part of my sit-down with Andy Nicholson – Production Designer on Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
If you missed the first part of our sit-down, you can check it out HERE and you can also check out the second part HERE.
Last time, we were talking about the Lockwood Manor museum-style displays which appear in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and we touched on some of the inspirations for the dinosaur choices such as the Dimetrodon and the Dilophosaurus. Continuing to talk about the set design for the Lockwood Manor dioramas, Andy spoke a little about the lighting:
“We noticed that if you stood inside any of the dioramas because they were much brighter than the room beyond you couldn’t see out, J.A. decided to take the opportunity to explore some of the finer details in the sequence, when Maisie, Owen and Claire are in dioramas and they can’t see whether the Indoraptor is outside - which was nice.”
We also touched on the Mattel model of the Concavenator at one point – with Andy noting how lovely it looks and how accurate it is to the model on the set. We also touched on the LEGO version of Lockwood Manor and how LEGO got some concept art beforehand, alongside some phone calls, to design the Lockwood Manor set. It was nice, as it this point, I could show Andy the LEGO Dimetrodon which features as a little nod in the LEGO set which was cool!
Andy explained that very early on, they knew that the diorama room idea would be an important part Lockwood House.
“I remember going to the Natural History Museum as a kid and seeing all the dioramas. They were amazing and incredibly detailed, so I had always wanted to tackle them and it really made sense to try that here. Originally, the Diorama Room was only scripted as containing fossils and skeletons – but once JA and I started talking we developed the room you see in the film. I did a lot of photographic research – including photos of the Los Angeles Natural History Museum and studied other museum dioramas in detail. We used scenic artists to paint the backdrops, which was lovely. As much as possible we placed each of the dinosaurs in environments which were authentic for them. The Mononykus were interesting as there has been a lot of discussions as to whether they were feathered, so we used porcupine spikes and added them to the tail to hint at that.
Until a few years ago we couldn’t have done these individual dino dioramas to the cost. But, with a 3D Printer and 3D sculpting software like zBrush we could sculpt the dinos, then print in pieces, assemble and paint them. Each piece of the the Concavenator, for example, took up to sixty hours to print but it allowed us to manufacture one-off dinosaurs at fraction of the price of traditional sculpting and casting. The one dinosaur which we did fully sculpt and cast was the Ceratopsian Skull as it needed to be very robust.
An interesting fact – all of the other dinosaurs in the room (The Skeletons) were hired from a company in Arizona for the shoot.”
I then wanted to change from the grandiose nature of Lockwood Manor, to look more at the other indoor sets – so we chatted a little bit more about the spaces which were used for Lockwood Manor before we then moved onto the other sets – like the DPG office. One interesting thing to note here was the Diorama Room was the same room as the Auction Room – albeit remodelled drastically to appear much different on screen.
“We took the balcony out and filled all the dioramas in with glazed tiles, but if you look at the ceiling at the top of the room you’ll be able to see that it’s the same room. When you’re designing sets you’re always trying to maximise what you can do with your budget, so if you can reuse or adapt something you do. We painted all the woodwork black, changed the floor to concrete and added the large metal door where the original door to the diorama room was. Wu’s laboratory and the Dino-Containment set filled another whole stage.
The DPG office was a completely contrast to this. It was in San Francisco, and it went from a very run-down office in the script to something which was slightly more operable and buzzing. That set was built at a warehouse in Langley which was quite a low space to start with which even with a large scenic backing out of the windows leant itself nicely to our eight foot ceilings, creating a low office space feeling. We made the space look repurposed, but also keep it looking slightly run-down, the DPG didn’t have a lot of money! The background for San Francisco outside was painted. The key feature here was the elevator though, and having an environment which we could use to introduce Claire’s character & replay the gag from the first Jurassic World film.
The key focus here was to contrast to what Claire was doing before – so the DPG office needed to reflect a charitable organisation that was just getting by, with half the space falling into disrepair because they didn’t have the high-end budgets of the Masrani corporation. We also wanted it to emulate a functional office – so it had a lot of areas like a break area, computer desks, etc. It was important to structure the office around the script and what needed to happen in the space.”
We discussed the bunkers which we saw constructed in Hawaii. I asked why these buildings had a slightly older, more run-down feel to them, I was interested as to whether this was a conscious decision which Andy and his team had made:
I liked the idea that there are service tunnels running throughout the island and that they have been a part of the infrastructure since Jurassic Park. When Jurassic World was built, they upgraded some of this so that it could work as part of the new park.
“The idea was we weren’t saying whether they were from Jurassic World or Jurassic Park. They have elements of architecture from both. I liked the idea that there are service tunnels running throughout the island and that they have been a part of the infrastructure since Jurassic Park. When Jurassic World was built, they upgraded some of this so that it could work as part of the new park. The transition of time was also important on Main Street. We needed to show that time had passed since Jurassic World and events had occurred! A lot of the damage you see – such as the Monorail – has been caused by caused by the volcano’s the seismic activity. There is a lot of damage, much more than could be caused by something like say, a rampaging T-Rex.
However, that does not explain the movement of the hotel complex on the far side of the lagoon from Main Street. That was a conscious decision. We evaluated how many times you see the hotel complex in Jurassic World – and we then decided to move it slightly to allow us to create the gate. This was important as we had decided against sending the Mosasaur down a tunnel but rather gave it direct access to the ocean through the gates. Design-wise I took inspiration from the original Jurassic Park gate, but on steroids! I also used the Three Gorges Damn and the Panama Canal as reference for the gates themselves and the new waterfront section for the park. Because we were shooting all of the opening Main Street sequence at night we were able to work with bold shapes and the more dynamic elements of the buildings, rather than have to worry about details. At night, in the rain, you just wouldn’t see them.”
I asked Andy how he tackled the difference between creating static locations, like the buildings we see on main street, to a mobile location like the interior of the Arcadia.
“I looked at the US Military vessels which have well-decks to house and deploy armoured personnel carriers, landing craft and hovercraft. I liked how these decks could be flooded and thought about using that idea as a way to get vehicles on and off the Arcadia. The truck-stunt sequence was developed and the rest of the space was used as you see it (although we never used the flooding idea). We re-arranged the trucks a couple of times to create the illusion of a much longer ship interior that we had space on stage. The exterior of the Arcadia was carefully designed as well – it had to feel capable of high speed considering the journey it needed make in the time. But I didn’t want it to feel too Science Fiction in nature. I looked at the bow-forms of high-speed vessels that transport crew to Oil Rigs and started there.
We did originally have some shots written in for the engine room, and the bridge, but eventually we just had the sequence with the T-Rex and Blue, so we only needed the big cargo bay. We thought it would make sense to use big shipping containers for the transportation for the dinosaurs here as well – as it isn’t exactly a legal operation, so it made sense that the antagonists transporting the dinosaurs would want something a little more covert. We made sure to do research here to make sure that the dinosaurs would be able to fit in the containers and cages we had designed for them in the film. I imagined children being driven home from the cinema, noticing a container truck drive past them, and wonder whether there was a dinosaur inside! Considering the transportation also influenced the choice of the big Russian cargo plane seen at the end of the film –  it flew in from the Ukraine. We really wanted it to look like it would belong to a villain or a least be heading somewhere a bit dodgy.”
We then moved on to touch on my favourite location – which was the Jurassic World perimeter fences. I loved how rugged and utilitarian they felt – but I was never quite sure if they were part of the old park infrastructure, or were a temporary haven for Wheatley’s crew.
“The fences had to feel like they were keeping something BIG out. In Jurassic Park, the wire fencing was big and electric, but I felt we needed to update this for existing Jurassic World infrastructure. We used a sturdier design and one that would work with many different sizes & species of dinosaurs. This was a contrast to the Jurassic Park T-Rex paddock, which was designed with large gaps as obviously, it was only expected to hold the T-Rex. I also wanted the gate to be is setup like an airlock, and once they enter the space between the gates and the first gate shuts behind them, it suddenly becomes serious! They are heading into the wild parts of the park. It makes a big impression and has a sense of scale and helps with the sense of fear & suspense.”
One set we hadn’t touched on at this point was the secret, almost Sci-Fi-esque laboratory, which is where we see Doctor Henry Wu for most of the film.
“The idea behind the lab was that it was the same space that Lockwood and Hammond had used when they first cloned dinosaurs. The space had been kept on after Wu went to work with Hammond, with Lockwood continuing to work there on his own projects. As Wu had then returned I designed the lab to look refitted with more high-tech elements for their development of the Indoraptor. We brought back a few key JW props such as the incubators as Wu had then returned with some of the tech he used in Jurassic World .
We were also able to use the Lab to introduce sequences like Owen training the Baby Raptors. For that location, we used a very small space which utilises a mural inspired by the mural which is on the wall in the Visitor’s Centre from Jurassic Park. The Mural in Jurassic Park has two species of dinosaurs on it, but we removed them for the backdrop of where Owen trains Blue. It was fun, we got to make it feel like a mesh floor in a Zoo, and we also got to think about the toys that the Baby Raptors would play with (we used toys for BIG dogs!). JA & Chris shot many different & very funny takes of Owen training the Raptors with  Blue biting his arm.”
I asked Andy what his favourite set or location had been on the film.
“Well – there all so different, I don’t think I have favourite! A lot of work went into the Diorama room to get it looking right. It was also nice that the Diorama room had so much functionality within the script. I also was happy with how well the transformation to the Auction Room worked. The auction room was inspired by a crazy Victorian house I visited near Nottingham that has an underground ballroom, complete underground two elevators for carriages. It was a fascinating, eccentric building! We decided to make the Auction room feel like a repurposed underground carpark (or ballroom) which had been quickly re-purposed to host the auction.
The Dinosaur Containment and Lab set had a lot of work which went into it to make it feel like something which could have many different functions to it. There was a lot demanded from it, so it had a lot of functionality within the scene. Owen’s log cabin was a simple set but fun as it had a lot of direct input from Chris Pratt – who is very much an outdoors man!
I was very happy with how the Arcadia turned out as well.”
We finished our chat by talking a little bit about the Stygimoloch. He mentioned how it was fun getting to destroy the set with Stiggy – and we spoke a little about how popular it was. I also took the opportunity to show Andy one of the Mattel versions of Stiggy – why not! I then asked Andy if, to finish our chat, he could offer some feedback for anyone looking to get into a similar role in the film industry.
“Having a background in architecture was beneficial for me, but a lot of it is learning on the job and being really interested in films and art in general. There’s a lot of drawing involved – so it’s important to have a knowledge of draughting and maybe teach yourself some of that. The real important thing is embracing opportunities and learning as much as you can. Get hands on with software if you can, embrace it and learn how it works.
Whatever the scale of project you work on it will teach you a hell of a lot. Getting into the industry can take a long time, but if you’re committed to what you’re doing and you’re willing to listen and learn you’ll do well. There’s rarely a boring moment, it’s usually enjoyable, always educational & an interesting way to make a living. I worked on Jurassic for fourteen months, and then moved onto Captain Marvel - a completely different Design challenge! It really highlights the variety this job can offer.”
Wow – what an incredible discussion about Andy’s experience working on Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. It was an absolute privilege getting to talk to Andy, and I really, really appreciate his time.
I hope you have all enjoyed this three-piece behind the scenes look, and please make sure you are following Andy on Instagram and that you check out his website to see the full portfolio of incredible films he has worked on.
As always – stay tuned to The Jurassic Park Podcast for more great dino-themed content soon!

film Jurassic World : Fallen Kingdom streaming complet

Atlatonan
Tumblr media
Here's a fun one. I'm actually revisiting a goddess I've touched in the past. This is Atlatonan, or if you've seen some of my lore from before, you might know her as the streamer, Maisy Mosasaur. This is her true self.
Atlatonan is the daughter of Tlaloc, and a goddess of the coast, and sea storms. I've also interpreted her as a mighty warrior of the sea. She adorns herself with Mosasaur teeth, treated with Jade to shine, along with other teeth on her arm bands and a tail band. Adorning her head is an eel skull headdress.
If you remember her as Maisy Mosasaur, then you'd see some inspiration from the Vtuber Gawr Gura. Well in this form, I draw inspiration instead from the Talokanil people in the movie Wakanda Forever. Hope you guys enjoy her.

Day 839
The cousins walked into Romani's office, both holding folders, intended for the good doctor. He was at his computer, watching something on there with extreme interest. It even seemed like he hadn't noticed the cousins walk in. They went up right next to his desk, Nota starting to talk first.
"We have the reports on the last singularity you wanted, Doctor." She said, holding up the folder. The doctor didn't respond. "Doctor?" Nota said. Still nothing. "HEY! Earth to Romani!" Nota exclaimed, before slamming her hand on the desk.
The doctor finally did notice that, and yelled out in surprise. "Wah-hey! What's with the yelling?" He asked.
"The reports, doctor." Rex said to him. "We have them finished."
"What the hell were you watching so damn intently?" Nota questioned him.
The doctor then got a bit of a smug face before grabbing his computer monitor. "Only the greatest Idol on servant-tube, Magi Mari!" The doctor exclaimed as he turned the monitor towards the cousins to reveal who he was watching.
Rex and Nota took a closer look at what was on the screen, seeing the character that took Romani's attention so much. Rex then questioned "what's so interesting about this idol lady, anyways?"
Romani gasped, almost in shock.
"Oh don't be dramatic!" Rex responded.
"Yeah, it's not that big a deal." Nota added.
"You guys just don't understand. You need to watch her for yourselves." He stated, very matter of factly. "I really do recommend you give her a try."
"I mean, guess it doesn't hurt to try." Nota says. "But also, take the damn reports." She states, pushing the folders onto him.
Later, the cousins were in Nota's room, at her computer desk. "So what was her name again?" Nota asked Rex.
"Magi Mari, he said." Rex answered.
"Okay, 'Magi Mari'" Nota says as she types the name into the search bar. The results do turn up with plenty of her content. "So what do we even watch?" She questions.
"I guess her debut?" Rex says. "Makes sense to me."
"I mean maybe, but couldn't hurt to watch something else." Nota adds.
As they scroll through, they find something else recommended.
"Hey, what's that?" Rex says, as he points out something different.
"Oh?" Nota says, noticing the same thing. It was an upcoming stream, the debut of a different idol. "'Maisy Mosasaur, debut'" Nota said, reading the title.
"Now that sounds interesting." Rex says. "Wanna watch?" He asks.
"Kind of, but we did say we'd check out Magi Mari to the doc." She says
"Eh, we can check her out later." Rex says to Nota.
"You're right." Nota says. And without any hesitation she clicks the upcoming stream link.
She clicked it just in time, as the stream had just started. Seemingly with an introductory animation.
"There once was a magical watery land known as 'Tlalocan' a veritable paradise, and in this magical land lived a princess. Even tho she lived in such an amazing land, she had already done so much and had gotten bored with everything. Then one day, she discovered the peculiar world of internet idols and decided to take a try herself!"
Then after the introduction was over, a background of what looked to be part of the ocean, with a large city far in the background was shown, with a small box onto the side with the stream's chat visible. Then, a girl with blue hair, with what looked to be red highlights, wearing a big hoodie, seemed to swim into sight.
"Hello! Hola! Niltze! How are you all doing today? It is I! Maisy Mosasaur! A Chonpa chompa! The magical sea lizard from Tlalocan!" The girl states.
The cousins watched intently, not even commenting much as their attention was firmly placed onto Maisy.
"Now you maybe wondering 'sea lizard? Isn't the Mosasaur a dino?' But if not, then I congratulate you on your big brains! But let me explain for those who aren't aware!"
Then a screen pops up, showing a family tree of many reptiles. "Now, there are many reptiles, but for our sake we will be focusing on the family of Squamata. The squamates include the very well known lizards! Like geckos, and monitors. It also includes, snakes! Like vipers and cobras. And finally, it includes the family of giant aquatic reptiles, the Mosasaurs! Including the family's namesake, the Mosasaurus! Just like me!" Maisy finally finishes.
The cousins were definitely not expecting a biology lesson on this stream, and while they were already aware of this, they still loved the inclusion.
"But enough about biology! Let's get to know me!" Then the screen changed to another one to show basic info on Maisy.
"First off, there's my name, which I already said: Maisy Mosasaur. Next we have my height! I am 213 cm or 7 feet tall!" Then Maisy peaked at the chat and noticed a phrase being repeated. "MOMMY? Pfft! Damn, I'm just debuting and you guys are already so thirsty. I get I'm tall, but goodness."
The cousins were pretty shocked to hear her height, and weren't surprised at the chat's reaction.
"Hehehe, anyways. Next is my favorite color, which is obviously important. I kinda like various shades of red, nothing super specific cause they're all good! And of course my favorite food: kind of poultry in general! I dunno if you've seen, but sometimes Mosasaurs like to jump out of the water and snatch! Pterosaurs flying by! And poultry is sort of like that, but not really. Still tastes great!"
Maisy then started to change the screen to another of her full body, while doing so commenting "now I want a chicken sandwich."
The food commentary made Rex more hungry too. "Now I wish I had a chicken sandwich too."
Then as the cousins continued watching, someone came into the room. "Mas- I mean, amor? Are you here?" Asked Quetzalcoatl who came in.
Rex jumped a tiny bit when he heard Quetz say that. "Aaaaa. H-hola amor….. what ever do you need?" He said, very much still not used to her calling him that, at this point.
"I was just wondering where you were, since you weren't in your room. What are you two watching?" Quetz asked the pair.
"This new idol, called Maisy Mosasaur" Nota explained.
"Come sit with us! She's very fun!" Rex insisted.
"Oh sure. Sounds fun, si!" She says, as she grabs a chair to watch.
Back on the stream, Maisy started to show how her whole appearance looks. "So this here, is me. But especially my hoodie! It's a very special hoodie, a bit big but that's how I like it!" She explains.
The hoodie was large and a deep blue, either plenty of red as well. "If you look at the top, rather then a traditional hood, there's this pastiche of a Mosasaur head! You probably already noticed the bottom jaw right here" She says, pointing at the part right under her head and neck. "This can close up, to look like the head proper. But I only do so if I'm upset, so hopefully you won't see it often!" She continues.
"Course there's also my tail!" She mentions, while turning to show it off better. "Has the important tail fluke, to swim all speedy like!" Maisy pauses momentarily.
"You're looking at the tail, right? Absolutely noooothing else, riiiight?" She questions the chat. "Yeah, you better be."
She then turns back around. "Then there's one last thing to share! And I'll be back!" She says, before seeming to swim off.
"Huh, there's something familiar about her." Quetz comments.
"Oh really?" Rex questions. "Like how?"
"Can't quite put my finger on it, but there's definitely something there." She says.
Then on the screen, Maisy returns now brandishing a large spear. "This here is my spear! I'm very skilled with it!" As she says this, she performs various skilled moves with the weapon. "I've had this with me for such a long time, I can barely remember a time without it."
"Such a nice spear" Quetz comments.
"She's real good with it." Nota says.
"Ok, unfortunately it is about time I end the stream." Maisy says. "I can't keep going on forever, but don't worry I'll be back tomorrow with some fun content, so I hope you're looking forward to it!" Maisy finishes. "And until then, Bye! Adios! Anej! Chompa Chompa!"
And with that, her stream ends.
"Oh that was amazing!" Nota says
"Yeah! Definitely want to check her out more!" Rex adds.
"I still can't help but find her familiar, but I did enjoy it!" Quetz says.
And right outside the door, Romani was passing by and heard the praise being shared by the three. Fully thinking it was for Magi Mari. He then decided to enter the room, with a smug look on his face, thinking they were convinced to be fans of her.
"Well well well. Looks like there's a few more Magi Mari fans after all." He says, before smuggly sipping his coffee.
"Huh? Oh! Oh no, we forgot. We were watching someone else." Nota tells the Doc.
Romani nearly chokes on his coffee when he hears this. "WHAT?!"
"Sorry, we'll watch another time" Rex tells him.
And there's my new fic to introduce my new OC, Maisy Mosasaur! Hope you guys liked it! It was a bit different then what I'm used to, but I still liked it!
And of course, here's art of her! Drawn by my friend Meg on twt.

Day 828
Hey so remember this poll?
So yeah, I finally designed the winning servant idea!
Tumblr media
This is Maisy Mosasaur! The Mosasaur internet Idol identity of Atlatonan. Similar to Magi Mari, Romani's obsession. Rex and Nota discovered her after Romani insisted they check out Magi Mari, only for Maisy to take their attention instead. She wears her Mosasaur hoodie to help with a cutesy appearance and wears a fossilized seashell like a hat.
Tumblr media
Also this is how her whole hood looks fully, which is able to fully close to envelop her head, when angry.
