tired: Campaign 3 is being unfairly rushed to wrap up and make way for a Daggerheart campaign.

wired: Campaign 3 is fast-paced, plot-heavy, and somewhat more on rails because it's intended to be the culmination of the plot points put into place in the previous two campaigns, which Matt has stated is a long-time dream of his to be able to do.

inspired: Matt is trying to pack as much possible plot into each day because he has no fucking idea what to do if Chetney dies in his sleep.

Seeing audio drama creators be very on board with people making original characters for their thing is so very good and it makes me, a chronic oc maker, so very happy.

the qsmp is such an interesting project, like just listening to everyone in a call all theorizing about everything going on as well as we all are. you can see how invested everyone is in it and it's <3

guys I know it is a short episode this week but as someone who does check the tags regularly, I have seen people, at this point, freak out because the upcoming episode is going to be shorter than average; longer than average; or right around the median length. Sometimes episodes are short because they ran into combat at the very end, and frankly, sometimes they might be short because Matt was tired. Sometimes they are long because the party had intense combat and sometimes they are long because everyone talked for a really long time. The shortest episode of this campaign is episode 10 (around 3:15 on YouTube) which is mostly about the date with Pretty and it cuts off because there's an opportune cliffhanger. The longest episode is episode 49, (around 5:00) which is all conversations and errand-running. The episode with the Otohan fight is a straight shot down the middle at just short of 4 hours...and is within 2 minutes of the length of the episode that features Bells Hells fucking around in Zephrah. Literally the only thing the episode length definitively tells you is how long the episode is, unless it is over 6 hours in which case yeah shit is going down and you may commence running in circles screaming and shouting with impunity.

One of the funniest disconnects with actual play to me is how much the viewers/fandoms have a much broader awareness of everyone’s mechanics than the players themselves - and often assume for some reason that all the players have that same total awareness.

Funniest examples I can think of off the top of my head are when Laura was convinced Caleb (AC 11 wizard) had a higher AC than Yasha (AC 15 Barbarian) - likely influenced by fear for Yasha in Ashley’s absence and Yasha’s position in melee meaning she was hit more by default. Another was when the entire CR crew aside from Laura revealed in the campaign wrap-up that they seem to have spent the entirety of C2 under the impression Jester had a very high Charisma score (her CHA was 12).

#not gonna main tag this as anything because it honestly is just a fascinating disconnect for me #but I don’t trust people to not be weird #I’d also love to hear any examples from other APs if anyone’s aware #I feel like this is something far more likely to happen in dense long form campaigns #than in shorter ones though #and I guess the point I’m getting at here is that fandoms often assume the players hold an all-knowing overview POV #about everyone else’s characters #and they absolutely do not
