- I swapped Kirby with zero; instead of him being made from positive matter, he's made of dark matter, though not evil.

- dedede instead would be a knight and Meta would be a king. SO you have dedede in the halberd taking over dreamland and meta knight in the castle stealing the food.

the meta-knights? Idk what to do with these guys. perhaps they stay the same but they roll with dedede and have a different name.

- marx and magolor switch professions. magolor would be the jester that tricks kirby and steals his wish while marx betrays kirby and tries to use the master crown. Marx eventually builds a theme park to apologize.

magolor would now be home to popstar, while marx would be home to another planet.

- joronia (or sectonia) would gift taranza (later named king rachnid) a mirror. as time passes, taranza would morph into a different person, becoming power hungry and wanting more.

joronia would later kidnap meta for king rachnid to kill, mistaking him for the hero of the land, and kirby has to save him.

after the fight goes down, joronia is left alone and heartbroken with her friend now dead.

- after being gone for so long and separated from her father, susie becomes a lost soul, who's only goal is to take over planets and mak profit.

in the aftermath of the mechanization, susie would lose her life to star dream and president haltmann would move on from popstar, still continuing his company...although more depressing.

- hyness, after being sealed away for so long from the ancients, would eventually fight dedede, who wishes to fight the most powerful being in the universe.

- galacta knight would lead the jambastion cult along with zan, francisca and flamberge

- something something galacta seals away hyness in fear of his powers yadda yadda

so many more, but this is all I feel like telling unfortunately!! I am lazy!!

Okay I just want to dump my Magoranza headcanons because of another post I saw, even though I should definitely sleeping right now (￣ヘ￣;)

Okay, so my headcanons are more pre-relationship based but I still want to share them so badly ( ꈍᴗꈍ)

Additional note: I repeat a lot "Magolor" and "Taranza" instead of using stuff like "the mage" and "the spider" and other stuff, so yeah, I apologize for the repetitions, I might edit it later to fix that.

☬ I kinda imagine they have a "A fell first and B fell harder" kind of situation lmao.

☬ Magolor first seeing Taranza around, and noticing he always looked miserable in a way (it would happen not long after the events of triple deluxe). So he decides to approach him and go "Hey, wanna hang out ? (^-^)" which Taranza accepts because Magolor gives him an excuse to occupy his mind.

☬ Magolor only asked Taranza to spent time together out of pity for him, but soon come to appreciate his company because not only is Taranza pretty smart and helpful, but he can be pretty mischievous despite his seemingly calm attitude. So obviously Magolor keeps him around because he could always use some help with his shoppe and with his research on the Lor.

☬ And sure, they both share similar interests, and they get along pretty well, and Magolor even allows Taranza to sit on the roof of his shoppe and only him, but that doesn't mean they're close ! And the fact that he is impressed by Taranza's knowledge doesn't mean anything either, and neither the fact that Magolor wants to spend more time with him, or that he thinks it's cute how clumsy Taranza can be, or when he re-do his hair from time to time, and sure, Taranza definitely looks so fine with that new scarf-

☬ And before he knows it, Magolor fell in love with the spider.

☬ His first reaction is to hit his head against the table upon realization. How did that happen ?! WHEN DID THAT HAPPEN ?

☬ After a few minutes, he calms down, and just moves on. It's not the end of the world, right ? No need to act weirdly about it.

☬ Though, after he realizes his feelings, Magolor will act a bit differently with Taranza. No big changes, it's pretty subtle actually. Offers discount at his shoppe and on some days even offer some items "because it wouldn't sell"; taking an interest in some of Taranza's hobbies he didn't share with him previously "because seems interesting"; and even studying some of Floralia's culture "in case one day I want to visit so I can be prepared".

☬ He would sometimes flirt a bit but quickly brush it off as a joke, and with his prankster personality, Taranza just rolls with it.

☬ As for Taranza, he doesn't see Magolor as anything other than a friend for a while. Like I said earlier, he would just see Magolor as a way too think about something other than Sectonia's death. But quickly comes to appreciate Magolor as a friend, despite his tendancies to make off putting jokes and being a bit apathetic.

☬ He sees Magolor as a smart person, not only for all the researches he does, but for his projects too like the attraction park he made for Kirby, and his business with the shoppe. And he's fun too, always knows what to do when they hangs out, which Taranza appreciate a lot. It's like a breath of fresh air compared to the strict ambiance in the castle of Floralia. And he finds fascinating all of the tales Magolor has about other dimensions, or about Halcandra.

☬ For a while, he doesn't really notices Magolor's flirting, mainly because he only sees him as a friend, but also because he still feel like he can't completely moves on from Sectonia. When he thinks of love, the first thing he thinks about is her, his dear Queen.

☬ It's not until someone else points it out (either Susie or Marx) that Magolor acts differently with him compared to everyone else (Marx would probably complains about the free stuff Taranza gets, while Susie would points out how Magolor took a sudden interests on things related to him) that Taranza starts noticing this too. And he also notice how Magolor only "jokingly" flirt only with him.

☬ Boi does that spider gets flustered.

☬ Taranza spends the following few days questioning if Magolor really likes him like that, and how he feels about it.

☬ And for the first time, he start thinking of romantic love without thinking about Sectonia, but about Magolor instead. And he likes it (even if a part of him feels guilty about it).

☬ After a few more days after he realizes that he might be in love with Magolor, Taranza starts making moves on him too, a bit less subtly though.

☬ If he gets the occasion, he buys and gift him all kinds of stuff, be it something Magolor took an interest of while walking in around in the waddle Dee's town, or something related to his interests, or it could even be something related to his research (or something Taranza at least thinks is related to his interests). Most of the time, the gifts are pretty spontaneous.

☬ Magolor would joke about how Taranza is spoiling him, and Taranza would laugh it off, albeit extremely flustered.

☬ He would also do all kinds of favours to Magolor, helping more around the shoppe more than usual, and proposing more help with his researches.

☬ Magolor does notice the sudden change of behavior in Taranza, how he suddenly seems more nervous and flustered easily, and how he seems more clumsy while helping sometimes. He decides not to question it, though. It's kinda endearing to see, after all.

☬ It kinda goes on like that for a while, the two just flirting with each other without much else going on after, and it's this kind of awkward phase between friendship and romance where the both don't know where they stand at this point.

☬ Until one day, Kirby asks them if they are a couple. Magolor starts chuckling while Taranza starts choking on air.

☬ Magolor teasingly asks Taranza "Well, wouldn't we make a cute couple ?" which flusters Taranza A LOT.

☬ After a few seconds of trying to calm down enough to talk, Taranza reply "Maybe we would, don't you think so too ?" which ends up flustering Magolor back.

☬ And all the while Kirby is looking at them like "What the heck is going on ? (◍•ᴗ•◍)"

Welcome to the askblog! This is where you can ask questions directly to Prisma and her friends. My main is @startistdoodles (where likes/follows come from). I have posts regarding all my headcanons tagged there under #kirby worldbuilding.

A few notes upfront:

Depending on the amount of asks I receive, I may not be able to respond to every one of them. Please understand.

On a similar note, please refrain from repeatedly asking the same/similar question multiple times.

Please keep asks PG-13 at most.

The characters are not omnipotent, so lore-related questions about the world or things they may not know will be moved over to @startistdoodles .

My AU follows both anime and game lore, so characters from either can be asked about. Generally anyone who is not dead is free to talk.

Side modes such as Knightmare and Dededetour are not canon to my AU. However, Soul Bosses and Magolor Epilogue are canon.

Prisma Knight

Prisma Knight (she/her) is a Star Warrior turned queen after she got into an accident involving Dark Matter that resulted in her losing her wings. Ashamed, she fled her troop and went into hiding on Planet Permafrost. There she was crowned queen after saving the inhabitants from a terrifying threat.

Many years later, she reunited with her old friend Meta Knight and was brought to Popstar, where she currently lives with her servants and new friends.

Kirby

Kirby (he/him or they/them) is a young Star Warrior that arrived on Planet Popstar a couple years ago. Ever since then, his incredible power has been put to the test as he stands up against terrifying threats. But he is never fazed and goes right back to naptime after every battle.

Kirby is still a child (about 3-5 in human years) and his speech isn't the best. He resorts to communicating with drawings or gestures alongside his babbling. His friends can often help suggest what he might be trying to say.

Meta Knight

Meta Knight (he/him) is a mostly retired Star Warrior who resides on Planet Popstar and serves as a watchful knight who aims to protect the planet alongside his crew, the Meta-Knights, aboard his Battleship Halberd. He serves as a mentor to Kirby, as well as a sort of parental figure (despite him disagreeing with the latter).

Many years ago, he and Prisma Knight along with Sir Falspar, Sir Nonsurat and Sir Dragato were in the same troop in the GSA (Galaxy Soldier Army). He presumed Prisma dead when she went missing, but was reunited with her many years later.

King Dedede

King Dedede (he/him) is the self-proclaimed king of Dreamland. Once a greedy and stubborn king, he has since chilled out quite a bit and now acts as a proud ruler (now with 10% less stubbornness!) that many respect. While he can still be loud and hotheaded at times, he cares deeply for his friends and especially his Waddle Dee family.

He and Kirby are friendly rivals, and he will defend his little buddy with everything he's got.

Bandana Waddle Dee

Bandana Waddle Dee (he/him - Bandee for short) is the king's right-hand Waddle Dee. A soldier in training, he assists in the defense of Castle Dedede and even hangs out in town looking for ways he can help others.

He is also one of Kirby's best friends, and the two are almost always seen hanging out together.

Dark Matter Blade

Dark Matter Blade (he/him or it/its - usually shortened to 'Dark Matter', 'Dark Blade' or simply 'Dark') is the former right-hand of Lord Zero, the incarnation of pure dark energy. While once highly respected among his kind, after failing his first big mission of killing a Star Warrior and then again failing to defeat Kirby in his invasion of Popstar many years later, he was forced to flee the Dark Matter tribe under threat of being killed by his master. So, he returned to Popstar where he was reunited with Gooey.

Nowadays he spends his time with his new friends, though is still distrusted by some. He wishes to lead a life of peace and comfort and as such shys away from conflict and confrontation. His relationship with Prisma is very tense — they don’t speak much.

Mochi

Mochi (he/him or they/them) is a new baby that recently landed on Popstar. There is something strange and somewhat dark about him...but he seems sweet enough so Prisma is raising him.

Sidia Knight

Sidia Knight (he/him) is Prisma Knight's old mentor and father figure. After going MIA during the great war that demolished the GSA, he was stranded on Galacta Star for nearly a century. Eventually, he reunites with Quiver Knight and they settle down and live happily together as a married couple.

Chapter 4

Vines

It was dark out, Taranza was sitting on his throne being bored

This is the past, so Taranza was pretty much lonely all the time, the only friends he had where his soldier's

Which aren't pretty much friends

Taranza got to the kitchen and started multi tasking

His hands where everywhere! Arranging things, moving things, cooking and baking, you name it!

He had eyes at the back of his head, so it was a little bit easier.

Later on people saw the paper that Taranza left outside and started coming in the Castle

The cat boy takes Taranza outside showing all of the fake spiders in a bag by a tree.

"Whoa that's alot of spiders! Where are we gonna put them?"

"Anywhere you like prince"

The kitty didn't know the spider's name, but he did heard about him being a prince of Royal Road. Anyway they go and put spiders in all sorts of places!

They taped one on someone's dress while they weren't looking, and they put one in someone's soup!

Then outside, there was a backyard of people talking, Taranza used his magic to make a huge spider web, the jester, cat, and the spider put the fake spiders on the web.

They walked on the rooftops holding the web, making it spread out with spiders all over it. Everyone was under the spider web, they where trying to suppress their laughs and giggles so then people won't notice them

"Ready guys?"

"Ready!"

They drop the spider web onto the visitors

The guests are running around screaming, while the tricksters are laughing on top of the roof

Taranza hasn't laughed this good ever since! He wipes his tears off by saying

"THAT WAS AWESOME! This was the best day ever"

"Um... what's your name?

"Magolor, and what's your's?"

"It's Taranza! Wow we have to hang out sometime"

"Haha... well, I had a great time Taranza. Oh! Here's my address"

He hands Taranza a paper that was made from magic

"You do magic?"

"Yeah! I've been practicing it my whole life!"

"That's nice, heres mine"

The spiders paper is small, and has a golden box around the address. It is written in cursive

"Thanks, by the way, y-you're uh"

"Pretty cool"

The spider was flustered by the compliment

"Hah... thank you"

The jester, who's name is Marx, is giving the gays the biggest eye known to man

Literally, he's very suspicious of them.

The party was over, everyone was going home. Taranza waved goodbye to Marx and Magolor, holding the address in his hand.

Thought of a fun thought experiment that will either age brilliantly or horribly quite soon.

So, we all know that Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe is coming soon, right? Like REALLY soon. Less than 2 months kind of soon.

We still don't really know much about what this remake will change or add except for:

1 new copy ability

new multiplayer mini-games

looming Magolor Castle (that is left unexplained for now) in promotional artwork

I don't mention the visuals because it's the most obvious and expected change coming from the remake of 2011 Wii game.

So I want to do something fun. I'll list my predictions on what this remake will change and/or add. I will be splitting them into predictions that are likely and predictions that are more on pipe dreams territory. I'll present arguments and/or evidence towards each point as we go. Let's begin!

Things that I think are likely to happen:

Playable Magolor. I mean, come on now. Not only he's now included on the cover, which he wasn't in the original game, he's also one of the most popular characters in the franchise now. Like he's actually probably the most popular addition to the series since Meta Knight and Meta Knight was introduced in 1993. I'm not entirely sure yet how this would work (it partially goes into pipe-dream predictions territory), but I'm certain it will somehow happen. It helps that modern Kirby games on Switch had a tendency to have a late-game unlockable that is super OP and is related to game's storyline in some way. Star Allies had playable Mage Sisters, Forgotten Land had Masked Hammer and Morpho Sword as milestones for beating main story mode and post-game campaign. Magolor only makes the most sense to follow suit.

Dedede, Meta Knight and Bandana Dee will receive their updated movesets from Star Allies. While I wasn't overall a huge fan of how Star Allies treated those three characters, being way less polished than later DLC Dream Friends, one things they got right is by finally giving them more original moves into their arsenal. They basically started out as hammer clone, wing and sword clone hybrid and spear clone respectively, which, I assume, was byproduct of RTDL's co-op being a late addition in the development. Giving each of them more unique moves in SA was a great move and them to carry over into RTDL DX would be excellent choice as well. Not only they would stand out more against contemporary copy abilities they were based on, it presents more fun gameplay possibilities (I'm sleeping and dreaming how much I will spam super dedede jump in various boss fights like grand doomer). But the best of all, we have an evidence of this potentially happening, ladies and gentlemen! In trailer footage we got we can decipher Meta Knight doing Galactic Counter that was introduced in Star Allies.

If this is anything to go by, all new additions are set in stone and it's just matter of seeing more of it in the final game.

The boldest prediction yet, mainly because it's not based on anything except for my gut feeling. But Magolor Castle will be the hub-world for the post-game in RTDL DX. It makes the most logical sense as it would be a good way to differentiate post-game from the main story where the hub world was Lor Starcutter. What we will do there? Who knows, there's tons of possibilities. It will most likely house mini-games but I doubt they would design such elaborate looking location just to be a place where you could pick a mini-game. There would certainly be more stuff to do, but what would it be?.. Time will tell!

Things that I want to happen but aren't necessarily likely:

King Dedede, Meta Knight and Bandana Dee becoming playable in single-player (outside of arenas). There are many ways how it could work, but the idea I'm betting on (and therefore hoping for) the most is introducing Guest Star-like mode where each of them get an abridged and changed take on the main campaign's levels, taking advantage of their individual movesets in the process. I feel like them being locked behind co-op in the original game was some of the biggest shortcomings of RTDL so I genuinely hope remake will fix that.

Entirely new post-game story. Extra mode that original RTDL had is less than stellar, to say the least. It's basically the same game again with slightly updated bosses and halfed health bar. Lame. If this remake were to go down the route of recent Switch Kirby titles, introducing an extra-mode that actually continues the story of the main game is the way to go! It can go down many ways, but personally I think the most fun (And funniest) plotline for such extra mode would be helping out to build Magolor's theme park (aka Magolor Castle we've been seeing on the cover art), mirroring the story of the main mode, but with lower stakes and reestablishing Magolor's current status-quo on-screen instead of it being left to Miiverse information.

Old Extra mode being remade into a difficulty option. I think both this game and Forgotten Land were developed co-currently so they are bound to share some of the game design philosophies. Getting rid of the old extra mode entirely would probably be too harsh and unfaithful to the original game... But if you were to repurpose it instead, it's a different story entirely. It will become this game's "Wild Mode", I wager.

These are all the main ideas I currently have for what this remake will have in store. I hope I got at least one of those things right. See y'all in 2 or so weeks when they will actually drop a new trailer.

Ideas for a potential (and ideal for my tastes) Kirby Party game!!

This'll be long, obviously, so I'm leaving everything under the cut.

At its core, the game is a literal copy-and-paste of classic Mario Party. Everyone moves around the board, gathering more of a select item than their competitors to win, with minigames sprinkled throughout. No differences there. The difference comes from what the objects are, in this case.

On the topic of stars:

Here, stars are replaced with food items, given out by Kawasaki who replaces Toad. Whenever Kawasaki is moved, through any means, he prepares a new, unique food item.

When you get to Kawasaki, you can spend 20 point-stars (the Kirby equivalent of coins) for whatever he offers. Or you could spend 25 point-stars to get a different food selected at random.

Why does this matter? Because you can eat these food items for special bonuses, offering a nice helping of strategy to the established norm. Eating them means you lose a point, however, so it should be used very carefully to be effective.

Outside of those, at least one food is offered that has no stat effects and is just your bog standard.

On the topic of items:

Originally, I had planned for most of the items to come straight from Mario Party 2, but after looking more closely into the item system of Parties 5-7 (mainly 6 because it serves as another big influence on the project), I fell in love with the nuance and strategy that could be employed.

With that in mind, I was thinking about revamping the item system and number of items to better fall in line with this style. However, I'll still share the old item lineup, just for personal reference:

Wheelies act as mushrooms, letting you roll two dice blocks, while Rex Wheelies let you roll three.

Warp Stars act as, well, Warp Blocks, letting you swap places with a random player.

The Dimension Mirror allows you to move backward along a board when used. (And this will be more costly, so as not to be absolutely broken like the Reverse Mushroom was.)

The Vat-luck moves Kawasaki to a different space.

The Noddy Network calls Nightmare upon a player of your choosing.

The Enticing Cheese calls Daroach, while the Stinky Cheese prevents Daroach from stealing from you.

The Dinner Bell warps you straight to Kawasaki.

The Invisibility Stone lets you walk through alternate pathways.

The Nebula Chest steals a random item.

The Dueler's Sword... is self-explanatory.

On the topic of boards:

I conceptualized 12 main boards for the game. At the moment, they are:

Augmented Area (Technology-themed.)

Foody Feilds (Grassland, Food-centric theming.)

Corruption Cavern (Mining cave theme.)

Dusky Drawings (Spooky Mansion + Art theme)

Basalt Boulevard (Fire/Lava theme)

Royalty Ring (Castle theme)

Headstrong Honky-tonk (A casino in Merry Magoland.)

Galvanized Garden

Sanguine Sands (Western theme)

Mauve Mountain

Impeccable Iceberg

Nightmare's Nexus (Space Theme)

I may end up removing some of these, adding more, or changing a few of these ideas around.

Each playable character will have a unique outfit for every board except for two. No one will have a unique outfit on Basalt Boulevard, and everyone will have a unique outfit on Nightmare's Nexus.

The character that does not have a unique outfit on the given board plays an integral role at the end if they lose, triggering a boss fight that acts as a final minigame (sort of similar to the boss minigames in Mario Party 9).

And that's everything I had! I hope you guys like my ideas!

Oh, and be sure to look out for the art I'll be making for this in the future. I've already made a few things for it, but they're all so old now that I feel like revamping them.

I'm sorry for the wait, I lost my phone right after I wrote most of the fic! I just got it back and finished it, here you go!

Off to Castle Dedede you rushed, an important bag slung over your shoulder. The dark clouds overhead and feeling in the air could only mean one thing- soon it was going to rain and drench all the mail you were carrying! When you took the job to become a mail carrier, you didn’t imagine it would be this perilous.

You sped in through the castle door and it was a good thing you didn’t slow down once since the first signs of rain, because it started pouring instantly once you got in. On the downside, you were exhausted from running at top speed for so long.

You set down your bag to catch your breath and laid on your back next to it. Breathing heavily, you let your muscles relax for now.

It must have been a few minutes, because a certain bandana-wearer carefully crept up to you. “Are you okay?” He asked with concern, standing next to your head so that you could turn your face to him and look him in the eyes because he was a tiny boy. To a human at least.

“Yeah,” you didn’t move from your spot on the floor. “Just needed to rest for a bit. I had to run a lot to get here before the rain.”

He nodded sympathetically, then saw the sack next to you. “Is that a mail bag? I didn’t know you were a mail carrier!”

“Yup! Got the job pretty recently, so it’s no wonder you didn’t know.”

“Oh that makes sense!” He waited for a bit. “Why aren’t you getting up?”

Poor guy looked and sounded so worried, you had to respond as quickly as possible! “Oh- uh- don’t worry! I just, uh… didn’t want to get up.” You got up. “Sorry.”

“It’s okay!”

You concentrated for a second on remembering something you forgot. Oh yeah!

“I’ve still gotta deliver this mail. Where do I put it? I don’t know where the Castle Dedede mailbox is.” 

“Well… the mailbox is outside in the rainstorm… so I’ll just take whatever’s for this place and deliver it myself to everyone here who needs it!” You looked outside at said rainstorm. “Well, I can’t let the rest of the mail get wet, so I’ll have to stay here until it passes. I’ll help you do that, then.” Bandee smiled with his eyes. “Thank you for helping! This way!” You picked up your bag and followed him down the halls. 

You were very fast without even trying, is what most people of this universe would say. He was pretty slow to you due to being so small and not having legs, but you had patience. For a while at least. After the first few deliveries, you offered to pick him up and carry him.

He seemed a little surprised at the thought, and you wondered if you had made him uncomfortable. It turns out, he was just excited about being held by you. You lifted him up and held him in one arm. He was impressed by your strength, but though it was true that big things are generally better at lifting than the smaller things that were abundant here on popstar, he was stronger to be honest. 

Not enough to pick YOU up, but enough to lift things that you couldn’t. It was a bit freakish to you considering he was only a little above eight inches tall. (9 or 10 inches maybe? Taller than Kirby) The people of this world had proved to you before that their weight did not correlate with their strength in the same way humans worked. You picked up King Dedede’s hammer once, and were shocked by how you could barely get it off the floor! King dedede also picked you up (with some difficulty) to show off once, but you could raise Dedede about as high as you wanted! He weighed about as much as a cat though, which is the most heavy anyone here has ever been to you other than Adeline. Most of them were like plushies, such as the dee you held now, but Kirby was light as the spring breeze! It was a wonder he didn’t blow away all the time, but you had learned most things didn’t follow the logic you were used to. Such as how that same Kirby could hold you over his head with zero effort. Apparently his power was infinite in all categories. Most people here couldn’t lift you no matter how hard they tried, though.

You were a little bit wimpy for a human to be honest, but you could still easily hold a lot of little guys, so you were happy with the strength you had.

You carried him through the rest of the deliveries for the castle and went back to the room you ran into when you first got indoors, but it was still pouring hard as ever. You wouldn’t be able to leave and deliver anywhere else anytime soon.

You looked down at the brave warrior nestled adorably in your arms. He looked back, knowing the same thing you just realized. You just stood there in silence for a good second, then asked, “Is there anything I can do?”

Bandee thought for a second. “Well, we can race raindrops on the windows.”

“Good idea.” You went to the nearest window with him in your arms and set down your heavy bag of mail, then sat down facing it, holding Bandee so he could see the window and the water on it as well as you could.

“I pick this one!” He exclaimed, putting his paw/nub/fingerless flap for an arm on the window pointing to a raindrop he liked. “That one.” You smiled, putting a finger on the window pointing to another drop that looked promising to you personally.

His drop was bigger than yours at first, but yours absorbed a lot of other droplets and won! You raised your fist into the air. “Woo!” Bandee took the loss like a champ. “Congrats!”

You continued to race raindrops until you saw the rain stop through the glass and you had to continue on your mail route. You said goodbye to Bandee, promised to meet him again sometime, and gave him one last hug before you went. He waved as you left until you were out of sight. A good day!

nintendo described rtdld as a remake not remaster, so it may end up going the super star ultra route. do you think maybe magolor land will have some type of game mode?

Magolor Land as its own game mode is interesting.

It looks a bit like a theme park, and we know Magolor does that as a hobby. So it's not weird to think "maybe it hosts all the mini games and challenge stages/races!"

But all the mini games were previously held inside the Lor. We've got new mini games on the way (and more classic ones yet to be revealed, perhaps, as the JP site makes special mention of including favorite mini games from past entries!)

We've also got a new copy ability, which requires a new copy ability challenge room. They could move all of these over to Magolor Land, but there is a problem with that...

Part of the charm of RtDL (and part of Magolor's character) is that he interrupts your journey to announce what new things he's built every dozen energy spheres you collect. If they remove that, the energy spheres become simply "collectibles" and we lose some hilarious insight into Magolor. (That he talks about being so busy fixing the ship when he's really goofing off, making mini games.) We also lose something that keeps Magolor in contact with the group. His little pop up dialogs help build a bond between him and the player that's necessary for his betrayal to really sting.

So it would impact the game rather dramatically to move everything over to Magolor Land just like that. Another problem is that... Magolor has no reason to build Magolor Land during the main game. The story he gives is that he needs his ship fixed so he can go home.

All this amounts to is the simple fact that Magolor Land HAS to be post-game content. It has to be. As to what that is, new mode or otherwise...

Something I've been thinking about lately is that it’s positioned on the box art the way the other stages of the game would be.

My wild guess is that the castle is a set of new stages.

RtDL always took a light touch with its story telling. Only one cutscene even has dialogue. If I’m right, I think after the standard end of the game (or whenever you meet the proper criteria for unlocking it) there will be a cutscene in which Kirby and the others awaken to find Magolor Land has appeared suddenly in Popstar!! Confused at this giant castle resembling the strange lying wizard they last saw disappear into Another Dimension, they go to check it out! 

At the end of these levels, you are greeted with a second cutscene, setting up whatever post post-game final boss awaits!

After this, you get a second happy ending. One that includes Magolor.

Much like the novel doesn't explain all the secrets, I don't think there'll be a ton of new dialogue to accompany these levels. I don't think Magolor will explain (or at least, go into detail) how he escaped his fate at the end of RtDL. I think his sudden, miraculous reappearance will be played mostly for laughs.

Or maybe we could combine the “new mode” and “new stages” theory and say that after the game, you unlock the ability to play as Magolor, and the quest is to build Magolor Land. Or maybe...

...Hmmmmm....

So, you know how all modern Kirby stages all spell words?

"Magolor Land" (Well, it would be something like "Magolor's Manor" in order to fit the alliterative names of RtDL) begins with an M.

It feels like almost impossible that we would get enough new stages to spell out "MAGOLOR." That's as many as the original game! But FOUR new stages might not be too much to ask for...

Just a guess, based on the fact that the towers in Magolor Land are patterned after Marx's wings. Maybe it'll be a hint at who the extra boss of this post-game is! Or maybe, you play as Magolor and have to take your castle back from Marx!

(EDIT: You know what? Never mind this theory. Fun as it would be, I don’t think its possible to come up with a stage that contains TWO words both beginning with the letter X.)

That got a little rambly (everyone should know this about me by now) but TLDR, I don't think Magolor Land's going to hold all the mini-games. It'd mess up the original game's pacing.

I think it's either going to a new set of stages (with a twist) for Kirby and the gang (one that ends with a possible dual boss fight between Magolor and Marx) or a set of stages designed to let you play as Magolor.

The last option is that “Magolor Land” is merely a place to cram "Kirby's Dream Collection" in. It pops up after you beat the game, and as soon as you go in, you're greeted with Magolor's opening speech from Dream Collection!

It would be a little un-exciting, but welcome, as that game is just as hard to play as RtDL. It would also be the easiest route, as it doesn’t involve a whole lot of extra design work from HAL. (Doesn't explain the castle spires. But not everything that LOOKS like Marx has to INVOLVE Marx!)

it's the 28th anniversary of Kirby Super Star's release in Japan, so it's technically Marx and Bandee's birthday!

I probably won't have time to draw anything today, so I wanted to write down some headcanons to celebrate Marx's special day instead, because I've been thinking about him a lot more lately. I'll do something for Bandee some other time.

pranks are done purely for his own amusement and no other goal. other ex-villains might see that as boringly unambitious, but marx really and truly does NOT care what anyone thinks about him. He's just here for a good time.

freakishly good at math. he doesn't even need a calculator or anything. not that he could even really use a calculator, even if he DID have one, on account of the lack of hands.

has issues sleeping. for how energetic and bouncy he is, you'd think he got a restful sleep every night! but, in reality, he has to really tire himself out to even have a chance at getting to sleep. as in, ready-to-collapse tired. he also happens to be a very light sleeper, so on the off chance he actually gets some shut-eye, it's frustratingly common that he gets woken up by someone moving around, even if they're trying not to wake him. disturbing his slumber is sure to put you on the tippy top of his next-to-prank list. "revenge" pranks are some of his most malicious, so it's best to give him a wide berth if you see him resting.

has quite the appetite, but never seems to grow any bigger. he's not the sit-down-and-savor-awhile type of eater, either; he can be just as frantic about eating as Kirby or Dedede! He could never pack in as much as either of those gluttons in one sitting, though.

his food preference is for fresh fruits and floral-flavoured pastries. He actually doesn't eat much in the way of meat, but he'll happily crash your barbecue anyway.

DOES NOT FORGET ANYTHING. truly, he has the memory of an elephant. Just not the wisdom of one.

a surprisingly good listener. will actually sit still and take the time to hear out all your woes. he may even give you some advice! just don't expect him to pull any punches or sugar-coat anything. however, before you tell him your secrets, there is a very good chance that he will bring whatever info you confide in him up again just to poke fun at you, so be very careful with what you're willing to share.

if he had the patience (and dexterity) for strategic board games like chess or checkers, he'd actually be very good at them. Less so at card games.

the most frequent targets of his antics are Dedede, Susie, Taranza, and Magolor; that said, he's certainly not above pranking the other denizens of Dream land when he can think of something to get under their skin. When he decides to team up for a prank, he gravitates toward Magolor and Kirby as his partners in crime.

he and Taranza do NOT get along. Taranza considers Marx a deeply disrespectful, obnoxious, unfunny clown, and an overall complete waste of space within the star allies. Marx doesn't consider Taranza at all.

Marx finds Gooey very boring to interact with, since he never seems to get riled up over anything. Gooey still quite enjoys tagging along with Marx, though! Gooey finds him to be a very fun, funny clown.

Doesn't really have a proper place to call home, so places friendly to him will save a spot for him should he decide to pop by. These places include Castle Dedede, Kirby's House, and the Lor Starcutter, when Magolor's not off using it to sail the galaxy. On warm nights, Marx likes to rest outside and look up at the stars.

Taranza gijinka is next bc I love him and also I think it's funny that he won the losers' bracket and is therefore the sexiest loser.

He only gets one drawing bc I didn't really have any ideas for changes to his design between TD and KSA save for his shoes (which were originally brown wingtips before they were boots). Plus drawing him once took three hours and I didn't wanna do that again.

Headcanons under the cut like with my other gijinka posts :)

(Rewritten from the drawing in case you couldn't read it) Not pictured, but while Taranza only has 2 arms, he can use magic to summon up to 4 floating hands, for a total of 6. The hands look and behave virtually identically to his real ones and can only act within a certain radius. (roughly arm's length if they were attached) Taranza has full feeling in these hands.

After the events of Triple Deluxe, I feel like Taranza wouldn't feel welcome in Floralia since he, yk, kinda indirectly caused Sectonia's descent into madness. This isn't true, of course, but he can't help but feel that way. He ends up moving to Dreamland because of this no longer feeling welcome in Floralia.

Long story short I like to think Taranza would be Castle Dedede's groundskeeper post TD.

Taranza has this giant book on botany that he only ever uses for pressing flowers.

He's blind in his lower set of eyes. His upper eyes have okay vision, though.

He wears so many layers because the average temperature in Floralia was much lower than Dreamland's due to its altitude. He still wears all these layers, but it's more out of a sense of nostalgia for Floralia than anything.

Taranza is REALLY good at multitasking. All those (summonable) hands.

Those teeth aren't just for show. They're incredibly sharp.

Once you get him talking, Taranza never shuts up. He really likes talking, but he's not the best at starting conversations.

Despite all his anxiety and insecurity, this guy is incredibly overconfident in his own intelligence and magical ability, and rightfully so given his skill.

He grows his own materials for making tea.

He's incredibly close with Magolor and Susie, having met them through Kirby. He's also friends with Marx, but he's kind of terrified of him.

In therapy. Just in general. Most of the Kirby cast is in therapy in my mind though so that's not just him.

was your goopy magolor post inspired by anything?

The thought was spurred by seeing someone else’s post about a post-possession Mags (it was by fearthebeanz!)

I just added more on it — my Mags was possessed and had his body mutated by Dark Matter TWICE. If Dark Matter is related to negative emotions, it would make sense that Mags’ composition kind of…morphs into something similar to dark matter when experiencing them. Which is goopy. (In the context of Back to Zero, it doesnt help that hes like this when Meta finally sees him again. The dumbfuck thought that Mags was actively collaborating/intentionally fusing with Dwarf the Dark Matter back when the lil shit was causing harm)

Visually, its inspired by Elfilis, the amalgamations + Undyne the Undying from Undertale, and that one scene from Howl’s moving castle where Howl is having a breakdown over his hair color ISNSKSJ

Guess what time it is again...KRBAY/HNK HEAD CANONS TIME!!!!! (Return to Dreamland Addition)

When everyone in Cappy Town first meets Magolor, his first presents himself as a nice person wanting to go back to his home planet, only to later down the course of the Return to Dreamland arc reviled to be Drunk on the Dark Side. He made the citizens of Dreamland his puppets so he could get the Master Crown for him

2. Magolor is a descendant of the ruler of Halcandra whose name is Bastalor (made by @blue-jester)

3. The master crown & Galaxia are made by the same person, & the reason why it backfired on Magolor is because it's doesn't what anyone to where it after Bastalor's passing because it is in grief.

4. The master crown's real name is Ragina (side note: imagine in the anime that it's reviled more & more that Magolor is obsessed with it is saying its name in a creepy fashion)

5. Magolor wasn't always obsessed with power, he was one a friendly scientist who got stuck working at NeMeEe. He was BFFs with Marx (they were implied to be friends) because unlike most of the other workers there Magolor was actually kind to the monsters. Magolor would do stuff like sneak extra food for Marx when he gets intruble, & goes to bed without dinner. And when Marx got in truble instead of not feeding him, Magolor would have a heart-to-heart talk with him instead.

6. There are more 4 headed dragons in Halcandra than just Landia. As seen by the arc's climax

7. There's an epilog episode that goes like this (idea by Earthbuds) After the advents of the arc Magolor does not have the Lor Starcutter anymore. The poor fellow tried to find a place for him to live in, but due to everyone knowing how he back stabbed them, they refused to allow him to stay anywhere. When Kirby, Tiff & Tuff heard about Magolor having hard time looking for a home, they decide to look for anything that he can use for a house. Marx remarked that Magolor should live in a wagon, stating that his friend deserves to have a shop that can be moved anywhere he wished, which Tiff decided to help build it. They went to the basement of King Dedede's castle, where they found several old wagons in pieces. Tiff and Kirby wanted to build a home wagon for him to relax, but Marx and Tuff wanted to build a shop wagon so he can have a job, which in the end both of them decided that they should built both wagons and make Magolor decide which one is better. Tiff's wagon was green, had a bedroom, a small table and chair, as well as a kitchen fridge, whereas Marx's wagon had a counter shop, storage closet and a steering wheel, a break lever and a winder that allowed the wagon to move forward and backward. When Tripple D saw the wagons, he wanted to own them, but Tiff & even Marx refused, as King Dedede & Escargoon argued with them. Tuff connected Tiff's wagon behind theirs as he began winding the front wagon as he & Kirby took them out of the castle. The others noticed this as Tiff & Marx got on the back wagon while Tripple D tried to chase them down with his limo. Escargoon started tossing bombs at them as King Dedede wanted the wagons desperately. Kirby swallowed the bombs & tossed them back at the king, making a hole on the road as his car got stuck. Meanwhile, they tried to break the wagons only to stop in front of Magolor. Both Tiff and Marx argued over who's wagon was better, but Magolor explained that he loves both wagon and that he thanked them for building it. In which he settled in on Tiff's green wagon while he used Marx's blue wagon shop to sell homemade costumes he made. In which everyone in Cappy Town gets an outfit, such as Tiff dressing like Drawcia, Tuff dressing as Necrodeus, Marx dress as NOVA and Kirby dress as Dark Meta Knight.

So yesterday I was at Universal Studios Hollywood and went to Super Nintendo World for the first time! (It was amazing, but I didnt get the wristband so I kinda missed out on a bunch) Now because it specifically says Nintendo World, not just Mario despite it being that way for now, I am gonna assume that other nintendo game themed areas are coming. And since I love Kirby..Here is my braindump over a possible Kirby land! (Universal, I’m a genius, please hire me)

Merry Magoland castle having the main ride!

The workers being dressed in hats like the Park Staff/Souvenir Shop Waddle Dees (I kept commenting about how cute the Mario ride worker uniforms were so yeah)
