Much like she did when she randomly showed up with the Monolith on the roof, Doomsday sends a text to the Atlantis boys, telling them to meet her for a surprise.

This time, though, she tells them to meet her in one of the old buildings outside of the Office, one of the dead ones so as not to disturb anybody or anything.

She's really excited for them to find this surprise. When they arrive, they'll find their ghost friend standing there inspecting her fingernails, while she has one of her big black boots pinning down a man who is currently struggling useless on the filthy floor of the building. She's quite strong despite being a weightless ghost, and so the man just looks like he's swimming in place, kicking up all kinds of debris, although his screams are muffled on account of the sock stuffed into his mouth.

This man is Rourke's father.

When she sees her two buddies arrive, she grins. "Hey hey! Took you two long enough. Look what I found just sitting around a few timelines back exactly where I was looking for him, ehehehehe. Hoo hee hoo ha ha! Ready to party?" she asks, laughing, gesturing over at all the tools she's laid out for them to use.

Leaning against the wall are just about any kind of weapon you can imagine. Anything from knives to baseball bats to a literal rocket launcher.

Milo was confused, having never seen the man before. But Rourke was frozen in shock at the face he'd never expected he would see again.

Jackson Rourke was, of course, pissed. This weird woman had just grabbed him from the bar, where he'd just declared loudly for the millionth time to some nosy person that he didn't have a son. While he knew very well the boy had joined the Army, Jackson told everyone either that the kid was dead or he'd never existed. He was actually glad the day his wife died. It meant she wouldn't stand in his way anymore, as he did what he needed to make sure his son became a real man, not soft like his damn mother insisted on letting him be. As soon as she was gone, he smacked the tears off his ten year old son's face before he knocked him to the floor and gave him something to cry about. The boy had been unconscious and beaten bloody, laying on the floor beside his mother's bed (where her still-warm corpse lay), when Jackson left the room to fix himself a drink. Not his fault the kid was soft and weak.

He hadn't seen Lyle since the boy ran off at age fifteen, yet when he looked up at the newcomers, he knew the bigger man in the gray tank top, green military pants, brown boots, and black fingerless gloves was his son instantly. He had his mother's deep, dark brown eyes. Eyes that went cold when they met Jackson's......yet filled with a disgusting softness and warmth when he looked at the man with him. Though in Jackson's mind, 'man' only applied loosely to this skinny stick freak with those ridiculous huge glasses, which announced the man was deformed somehow.

Milo just had a feeling about today and as a result was dressed a little more dramatically than usual. He was in a black tank top, black pants, lightweight black boots, black wraps around his forearms, and a black leather collar with silver spikes (they were harmless, they only looked sharp.....yes, Lyle had used that pun). He looked like someone out of an action movie. Which was fitting for what was going to happen.

"Uh.....who is he?" Milo asked, snapping Rourke out of his thoughts.

"Sorry. Milo, my love-" Jackson's eyebrows shot up. No way was that right. HIS son? Liked men? And liked.....THAT!? No. No no no, "-meet Jackson Rourke. My.....father." Now the stick man's eyes went as cold as Lyle's, and his lips even curled back into a surprisingly menacing snarl as he looked to Jackson.

"So it's YOU who made my Lyle's life hell." Milo hissed through gritted teeth, his hands in fists at his sides as he stalked toward the man under Doom's boot. He was deliberately slow, like the Terminator, his eyes cold yet blazing at the same time.

"I'm normally not a violent man, Mr. Rourke. But for someone who would do the things you've done to their own child-a CHILD!!-I will make an exception." Jackson was distracted trying to be disgusted by the spit he felt hit his face, and as a result, never saw the foot coming as Milo spun around and drove the toe of his boot HARD into the man's face. Blood and a tooth or two (and the sock) flew from his mouth. He barely had time to recover before Milo's other foot slammed into him just as hard from the other direction, and by the time he recovered from that, Milo had a knife in his hand.

"Get up." He growled.

"Fuck you." Jackson spat, only to be yanked up by his son.

"I would very strongly advise you NOT to piss him off any more." Rourke said, "You WILL regret it." Rourke knew very well that Milo could fight, Rourke, along with Kida and others, had taught him. Now, Rourke found it amusing when someone picked a fight with Milo, thinking it would be an easy win. He knew they had a nasty surprise in store for them.

Milo knew he had this advantage too, and he planned to use it now, as he challenged Rourke's father.

Copperhead doesn't hate many people but Lyle Bolton? Yeah, he hates the man's guts, especially when during his malicious campaign against the in-mates of Arkham decided to stick Copperhead next to Mr. Freeze's cell with no heating allowed. Had Copperhead not possessed the ability to go into a state of mini-hibernation, being stuck next to Victor's cell might have been lethal for him.

How do non-magic villains react to the magic from the Villains who have natural magic powers?

Breaking my rules for this one because I have a couple of scenarios with villains outside the mansion.

-Clayton was a bit doubtful of this so-called "magic" when he first saw some of the villains perform it. He is from the times where illusionists, magicians and freak shows flourished so he was convinced it was all fraud... until Mim scared the living lights out of him but transforming into various animals and chasing him around in the woods.

-Cruella was one of the few who was not frightened, but rather amused by the display, especially of dark magic such as Maleficent or Grimhilde's. There had always been lots of supernatural rumors and superstitions around her family so she's not entirely unfamiliar with the mystical. On the contrary, she seemed very excited the first time she experienced real magic around her.

-Medusa, in the other hand, stopped believing in magic a long time ago so it was a bit of a shock to witness a shape-shifting beast chasing Clayton.

-Bill Sykes had been a non-believer all his life, so meeting actual magical users made him question a lot of things about life.

-Gaston had had enough after dealing with the living furniture and that damned beast. He freaked out when dealing with magic again and he still doesn’t feel too comfortable but he has grown more used to it with time.

-Frollo's reaction is a bit too obvious, C'mon. He was both scared and attempting to perform an exorcism on everything around him. He does learn to chill down a bit after a while of living around witches and sorcerers but he will run like hell to get a cross when something catches his attention once more.

-Rourke was done when he saw Clayton screaming bloody murder while getting chased down by a beast. The crystal transformation was bad enough by itself, he doesn’t want anything to do with magic ever again.

-Scar and Zira are not amused. The lion society they grew up was filled with supernatural aspects so while the displays of magic were amusing, it reminded them of the beliefs of their people and specially Rafiki.

-Shere Khan didn't want anything to do with that kind of shit and is still nervous of magic. Although he has already come to terms with dealing with humans and witches on a daily basis, he still keeps his guard high around magical displays. Humans are already bad on their own, he doesn't wanna deal with one that shoots fire or transforms at will.

I know it's probably not all that relevant, but I always wondered which version of Lyle's parents were you running with?

I've tried to stick with the PZH version -- completely absentee parent who are diplomats, where the Foccarts were the ones who actually raised Lyle until he and Jacques joined Black Hole. Sadly, Lyle probably distanced himself from the Foccarts when Jacques died out of guilt so I don't think he has a strong connection with any parental figure anymore. I could see Lyle's parents sending messages to him once in a blue moon but considering where Lyle is, in every sense, since the beginning of the comics I don't believe any of the Norgs actively try to pursue any connections or familial relationship with each other even now.

I just envision the Legion running into them at some United Planets event and Lyle speaks with them with such mutual professional formality that his teammates are flabbergasted after the fact when he clarifies those two politicians were his mom and dad.

“Look, I get it. What he did was asshole-ish. I apologise... as I’m not sure just how much he can do it right now.” Lyle, your brother nearly turned into a bloody demon, for hell’s sake. He was about to burn that person’s face off, or bite them, or do something worse. “I’m not always nice, either. Especially not before I have coffee. It happens.”

He takes a protective stance, stepping before Benjamin to shield him... not that he needs it. From the way he has turned pale and sweaty and has started to shake, Lyle can only assume he's trying to regain control of himself. And that’s never an easy thing to do. Not even after all the time they’ve spent learning how to fight their demons.

“But I can’t let you hurt him. I could make it up to you in any other way you wish. Just don't take it out on him. He’s... not exactly himself right now, anyway.”

Oof. Getting told “I don’t need you anymore” by literally everyone she loves has got to hurt. Especially when they’re all trying to separate themselves from her so that their crusades don’t end with her sacrificing herself for a cause she doesn’t fully understand.

But at the same time, it’s almost like everyone sees her as just a big child. Who needs to be protected, saved, patiently taught right from wrong. They don’t explain it to her and that’s what really hurts when they leave.

Doom shows up from out of nowhere, like she hasn't been missing for weeks, and pretty much just slams down this huge monolith-looking thing right there on top of the roof where she called the Atlantis boys (and/or Pollux) up to meet her.

"Heh heh, check it out, isn't it cool? Found it just sitting there on the moon. Thought you guys might appreciate it," she says, stuffing her hands into her pockets and grinning.

"You, uh, might want to brace for impact." Rourke advised. When she asked him why, he answered, "Just trust me. You'll see why in...3...2...1-"

"DOOMSDAY!!!" A happy voice cried as a smaller blur shot forward and suddenly there was a pair of skinny arms wrapped around her, belonging to an excited little nerd with big glasses.

"You're back! We thought you were gone forever, and I thought it was my fault!" Milo said.

"He refuses to eat anything that doesn't have a label or that doesn't come from me or Pollux." Rourke said, smiling at him, "Okay, Mi, you're not a Klingon, let her go."

"Sorry. I just......You're back! And really, Lyle? 'Cling-on'? That's gotta be your worst pun yet." He then noticed the big black.....thing.

"The Moon? But....what is it? No way is this natural.......wonder who made it?" Milo started searching for some clue around the thing. Rourke smiled and leaned against it, his crystal tapping gently against it. And suddenly, to Rourke, it wasn't just black anymore.

"My gods.......it's full of stars!"the bigger man exclaimed.
