ancients heights headcanons?

In order of tallest to shortest:

Fallon (6'2" — ridiculously tall so his thigh-length hair is even more intimidating)

Vespera (5'11" — can wear heels but only does so to intimidate, and is honestly more intimidating if she doesn't)

Fintan (5'9" — yes he's two inches shorter than Vespera but that's just an excuse for Fintan in heels and tall hairdos)

Luzia (5'8" — also a lover of heels but it would be a safety hazard to wear ones that would put her on a height with Fallon)

Bronte (5'5" — short king and has never worn a shoe with a heel taller than half an inch <3 (lol he's still taller than me))

Bonus Fallon's wife (5'10" and she never wears heels, just like her husband)

alright now we’ve got. headcanons but exclusively pre-neverseen era:

- he had freckles as a kid because i say so (and then they got really light as a young adult .like most people wouldn’t have noticed them if they weren’t paying attention. doesn’t rlly have any now tho.)

- gem on councillor circlet was red sunstone because… i don’t know man it just seems so obvious. red? obvious. SUNstone? obvious (sun=everblaze).

- he was besties with bronte and fallon vacker when he was a councillor because i think it would be funny. world’s worst bff squad.

- ^^ and can’t forget about him and bronte millennia-long situationship (it’s real guys trust me)

- the reason luzia vacker hates him so much is bc one of the pyrokinetics that died during the everblaze incident was her gf 😔🤚 (we never see orem’s dad so i’m just assuming she got divorced LMAO) (oh yeah & i’ve got actual designs for a couple of those pyrokinetics help)

- after the pyrokinesis ban he would sometimes go to cold/snowy places to re-center himself just because there was less heat and therefore would be harder to lose control…. but present-day he hates the cold obviously

- & he deffff considered k!lling himself after the accident bc like. how do you even deal with the guilt of that bro 😭 he was probably so disgusted with himself that he was the one who survived that

- i imagine his old personality (that is, before he was traumatized by the everblaze incident & pyrokinesis ban) was definitely on the charming yet cocky side… which i mean can sort of already be seen by how he manipulates people into getting what he wants and how he’s an expert at telling people exactly what they want to hear (even though he’s lying 99% of the time). and the fact that in his evil speeches he’s either smirking or looking extremely smug like half the time. like we KNOW he had an ego even before he became evil. but i feel like he still would’ve been that councillor that everyone liked yk (except then of course he becomes the one everyone hates literally overnight). he certainly knows how to captivate an audience. got that ex-councillor charisma

KOTLC characters that I'm still scared of (besides Gisela):

- Luzia Vacker (woman is creepy and definitely knows some suspicious stuff)

- Fallon Vacker - Idk is he's good or bad, but he gives off a potentially creepy vibe and I think he is a source of some suspicious info or knowledge

- Alvar - the fact that he's not dead yet (although he was almost dead last time we saw him) makes me think Shannon is keeping him alive for a reason

(yikes, why are they all Vackers so far?!)

On that note,

- Alden - not because he's been scary so far, but because of all the theorizing that he's going to be a betrayer or double agent (not that I want this to happen; I personally still like Alden and think he's a good character that just doesn't always get it right)

- Trix - we may not fully know what his motives are, but he *is* still with the Neverseen. Plus, he really just seems kind of unstable. (Also, how do you have a name like that and not have some questionable moves up your sleeve?)

- Keefe - I love the boy, but he's traumatized and kind of unstable right now. What's he going to do next? Fight an ogre king? Run off to the human cities? Jump off a bridge? He repeatedly hurts himself and the people he loves, whether he means to or not, and I think he just needs to be shut away in Elwin's house for a good long time of reparenting and therapy.

- Fintan - he's unstable (there's a recurring theme here...) He may not be on board with Gisela and her schemes, but I still expect at least one more big bad, dramatic move from him before the series ends.

- Lady Zillah (Tam's shade mentor) Even Tam said she was creepy. Confirmed creep.

Okay this got long buckle up

Main crew:

Sokeefe (yes I'm basic) and I'm generally open to any others (not much of a main crew shipper honestly I'm fairly neutral about them all)

Marellinh is also great, especially what we saw of them in the Marella short story

Adults:

Tiertice!!! I just love the devotion and the simple, caring sort of dynamic they have. It's just SO adorable and soft and they've been through so much and ajshdkd I love them

Kesline! They're just so cheerful and feel like they're really THERE for each other through all odds (like their relationship was 'a bad match' and they supported each other through it all)

Ruedacted!! (I'm counting them as adults for the sake of this) THE TRAGEDY is so so compelling! They sound like the most wholesome couple until they don't and it just starts getting darker and smokier and where there's smoke there's fire and the fire burns them both in the end *screams about them forever*

Honourable mentions to Qualden and Gradaline. Also amazing but I don't think about them as much.

Ancients (multishipping incoming):

Finspera. Okay where do I start I am. SO obsessed with them. They'd be like THE top ship the ones I think about the most the ones I could write (and have written) so much about. Fintan risks everything for the chance to get Vespera out. He stands with her in Nightfall, and she seems less...not there when he's around. Their Nightfall scenes are just INCREDIBLE — the whole sequence is an elaborate performance and they're so in sync with each other! Also I have like a billion headcanons about them and just. THEM <3 they're my OTP. They're the tragic soulmate beloveds of all time.

Fintante! Now I love any and every flavour of them (romantic OR platonic) but their shipping dynamic is great. Bronte probably initially looked to Fintan as someone else with a dangerous power, and eventually realised that he was just a very hot and very silly elf and oops he's in love now! They complement each other really well — Bronte is goodness masked with anger and his power is tightly controlled by him, while Fintan is cheery on the outside, angry on the inside, and uses his fire liberally. These two are boyfriends.

Luzpera (Luzia x Vespera). Them!! I headcanon them as being very young when they fell in love, then broke apart (with a LOT of drama), got back together into something pretty dark many years later, and eventually broke apart again to become really close friends by the end. So friends to lovers to exes to lovers to exes again to friends. And yes they're lovers in my head. Also I thought they were way more popular than they are but apparently they're a rare ship (correct me if I'm wrong and direct me to the Luzpera stuff please)

Bonus Fallon x his wife (yes yes boring BUT I have thoughts about his wife that I can't elaborate on yet but they're there. Trust)

Hi Marlee! I can certainly try, but it's possible I'll forget things in this summary.

Luzia Vacker is an ancient elf, half-sister to Fallon Vacker (who was on the original council of 3 elves), and mother to Orem Vacker (the famous flasher). She and Fallon have different fathers, which is a source of drama at times. She's described as gorgeous with shiny black hair, clear blue eyes, and bronze skin flecked with amethyst glitter.

She's a flasher and important for her help in illusions, hiding the Lost Cities from human eyes. She denies any association with Vespera, however. Her work may have been based on some of Vespera's ideas, but she always found her "unsettling."

She's also important because she, like Sophie, made a secret alliance with the trolls. The difference between them in that Sophie shared her secret alliance with friends and the Black Swan, but Luzia truly works alone and told no one. The trolls allied with Luzia to use her property and illusions to hide the troll hive, a location they share with no one because it's vulnerable and any attack against it would decimate the next generation of trolls. However, Luzia admits that at times she regrets her alliance and the things she's done.

Luzia's current property is Dawnheath, but Everglen used to be hers. It's brought up as odd that she'd give the property away to Alden, though she admits nothing about it. When asked why she picked Everglen, she only spoke about the view, denying any further reasoning. She was the one who suggested Alden add the glowing gates that prevent anyone from leaping in, with further makes Sophie and her friends suspicious of her motives. Why put up the gates if she has nothing to hide?

Later, Sophie learns Luzia moved to have more space for a larger hive, at least according to Tarina. Tarina finds no trace of the old hive at Everglen, but at the end of the book it's revealed there was a secret, treasonous, illegal experiment taking place in the old hive with genetically modified troll babies, which Luzia is connected to. There was a several day long public Tribunal, though we don't get any of the details of how it ended or what happened to her.

The only other thing I can think to mention is that Vespera suspects Luzia had something to do with her arrest, but it wasn't expanded on.

I think that's everything to do with her? Her story and involvement takes place entirely within Flashback, and there are about 3 scenes with her in them, so I'd suggest looking there if you need more context. But I hope that helps!
