I: So, Lilo, give us the scoop. What made you send in an audition tape?

L: This is going to sound so lame, but, I’ve never been in love before! And I know what you’re thinking. Lorelei, you’re twenty-three. Get over yourself. But everyone else has been dropping the “l-word” since high school. I’ve been confessed to, but I’ve never been the one doing the confessing. I’m here to meet someone that'll make my heart pound.

I: That’s why you’re here . . . why should the contestants bother showing up?

LL: Ouch! Haha, I mean, I don’t know? I’ve got a killer smile, great legs, I’m not a bad cook . . . I’m sure they’ll have their reasons.

I: Tell us a little more about yourself.

LL: Sure. Let’s see. I’m pretty competitive. I don’t think I’m an asshole about it, but if I was one of the suitors on this show, I’d probably end up as the villain. I swear I'm nice to the sims I date.

I: Ha!

LL: I love cats, I have mild insomnia and I drink way too much coffee. I'm great with people, I love making new friends, but I tend to hold onto a grudge. Sometimes I really get into moods where I just feel all my feelings.

I can play pretty much any instrument by ear, and I absolutely slay at karaoke night. I think a lot of my college professors expected me to drop my major at any minute, like it was a giant prank, and go into the family business - should I talk about my mom? No? Well, I am going into the family business. People forget my dad’s a social worker. He’s my hero.

I: You sound great.

LL: Are you sure? I don’t know if I’d date me.

I: She’s funny, too! This sim's a catch. Speaking of . . . Lilo, what kind of sim are you looking for?

LL: Someone passionate. I don't mean that in a sexy way (though clearly that's a plus) but the sims I've been attracted to have always committed to the bit, you know? I'm into people who don't back down, or try to make themselves palatable. I love listening to sims talk about the things they're completely weird on.

And blondes! Love me a blond.

Now for the entry rules!

To submit an entrant, just make a post with cute pics and a bio (see below) and tag me! The finalists can be sent as in a private DL once they've been chosen.

Contests get an all-expenses paid trip to a tropical vacation for a shoot that will happen right after the end of this round. All entries should include a personal bio with an aspiration, a personality/sign (Lilo's a Popularity Taurus), a list of traits and a set of TOs (at least one of which should be for black hair, fitness, or creativity). Feel free to include a career and job level too. And a LTW! Why not?

Winning entrants will be expected to provide their own wardrobe (Everyday, Formal, Swim, and Undies) suitable for a tropical environment.

All genders welcome, but only the following supernaturals: witches, werewolves, and aliens. Go ahead and include any accessories/jewelry and tattoo boxes you'd like. I'll recolor hairs and adjust skins/eyes as necessary to match my defaults. Go ahead and include an CC you like! The more the better.

(No real entrant deadline because scheduling this within the next two/three months is probably optimistic. Let's say September 1st-ish, until the producers say otherwise. Otherwise, I'll cap it when we hit too many sims for me to choose between!)

As you guys know, Claire being so into Sugar has been vexing me from the start for obvious, nose-based reasons. I assumed she was either secretly batshit or that Sugar has inherited some hidden sexual talents from Cyn, or both. But finally, I think I’ve cracked the case:

So Claire, like Sugar, has the amazing combo of popularity aspiration + 3 nice points and her LTW is to become a Celebrity Chef. So when I moved her in I thought it’d be cute to give her this ice cream dress like she wants to be a pastry chef and I never thought about it again. But as I was editing pics before, it finally dawned on me: she’s a PASTRY chef and he’s SUGAR. IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW❤️

Moving on to something significantly less cute, it’s time for Sophito to begin another day of hoeing. Roxie wouldn’t accept our invite to come over so I pulled a pro gamer move and invited her whole household and she accepted, so we’re about to knock out 3 dates at once! I was feeling so proud of my efficiency-

-that I literally FORGOT ROXIE AND JONAH ARE DATING. LMAO. Literally wtf is my problem, I’ve even done a photoshoot with them.

Gavin: “Yeah. With this new information we went from one or two shaky at best motives to kill Douglas to a Polgannon-worthy number of motives: everyone ranking below him in the firm."

Behind the scenes Gavin’s “investigation” consisted of me zombifying the dead to read their memories and bios. This being a basegame neighborhood, Craig’s Criminal Mastermind LTW is probably a coincidence.

Meanwhile in the Noble apartment, Marina Noble had decided to befriend her neighbor, Tai Hyden. She felt so comfortable with him and they had very easy conversations and so much in common. She went outside to the common area where Tai liked to hang out after work and the two fell into conversation together. Tai confessed that what he currently wanted right now was to be friends with Marina--and she wanted the same thing! They both had wants fulfilled when they became friends and hugged. Marina was hopeful that she and Tai would even become best friends one day.

Afterwards, Marina cooked dinner for herself and her roommate, Kaylynn Spitzig, who she had also become close friends with. The two had so much in common--they were both Cancers and Family Sims. Marina had the LTW to reach her Golden Anniversary and Kaylynn had the LTW to marry off 6 children. They both secretly wanted to fall in love this year. They hoped that this would be the year that their dreams would be realized!

Enya has had her revenge: She has all of Yuri's ancient coins.

All 4700+ of them, not to mention a half-dozen ancient relics that really would have come in handy for exploring Abu Simbel. And the house, of course, and all the rare alchemy ingredients, and the life fruit, and the death fish... well, this is why we say cheaters never prosper, right?

I have put some details about the mechanics of this split below the cut, as they are probably either known by most players already, or only of interest to me, or both. But I'd like to note them down for my own future reference.

So way back when Yuri started spawning wishes to get all huggy-kissy with Tahiya (and I was reminded that Enya had become kind of a PITA and, also, I had always sort of considered Enya to be Yuri's rebound love after his first great one, Capucine)--back when I decided he may as well go for it, especially given that he had completed his LTW and I already had my heir for the next generation? Go for it he did.

Afterward, I noticed there was the option to Confess To Cheating to Tahiya, and I thought that because she was the one I wanted him ultimately paired up with anyhow, that might be the way to go with this.

At the same time, he also had all those happiness points from achieving his LTW--I want to say around 110,000 of them? So I thought I'd clean up his reputation a little bit and got him Above Reproach (35,000) and, more significantly, Clean Slate (25,000).

Clean Slate promises to wipe their romantic history and yowza, did it ever deliver, because when Yuri returned to Midnight Hollow and I tried to have him divorce Enya, there was no option to do so. There was no option to do so because as far as the game was concerned, they were no longer/had never been married. The game had set their status to Friends.

I tanked that to Acquaintances and had Yuri use the phone to move out, taking Wilona with him. But if I'd realized that this would lead the game to (1) sell his vacation home out from under him (I have never typed "motherlode" so fast lmao) and (2) rob him of his ancient coins, maybe I wouldn't have been so hasty.

On the other hand, Enya certainly deserves some compensation for having put up with this philandering pseudorebel, never mind for having borne him four children. All's fair in Sims love, ultimately.

Superman is NOT a morning person. like the idea that the sun wakes him in the mornings and he’s full of energy, but he REALLY just doesn’t want to be awake. and 2. Characters who’ve had superpowers for a long while are so used to them, that they use them casually (whether at home, or around trusted individuals) [Also, can I just scream for a bit about how Sony totally did this with Peter B?! My heart literally burst during the scene where he’s just walking up and down the sides of buildings like it’s nothing!! HC CONFIRMED!!!]

Favorite expansion: i have a ton of nostalgia for makin magic and hot date. i dont start playing a sims franchise until seasons comes out so im going to say SEASONS but its honestly tied between that and the supernatural packs and pets.

Small pets or horses: small pets, dogs in particular. confession time: i never went through a horsegirl phase and all i know about horses is that some of them are very fancy??? i dont understand them honestly 🙈

Favorite active career: i havent played any of them except ghost hunter

Favorite LTW/Aspiration: i dont have any eek

Whims, wishes or wants and fears: wants and fears followed by wishes. whims can suck it.

Favorite occult: witches (i still havent played fairies)

Cowplants, Bonehilda or Social Bunny: bonehilda rules, cowplants drool.

Favorite non-PC Sims game: i didnt play any except mysims (and it wasnt good)

Favorite spin off game:  mysims i guess?

How do you pick the names for your Sims: baby name websites for goths or named after the singer of whatever song im listening to

Create a spouse or find them in game (townies): i find them in game. this forces me to interact with the townies/npcs (plus I cant be assed to make more than one sim - i cant even be bothered to capitalize my letters dont ask too much of me)

Do you prefer following storytelling simblrs or gameplay simblrs: gameplay. im really into visual storytelling.

I built Presbytery (priest’s house) for $31.508 and Church for $30.561. This house is quite a lot cheaper than the other gentry house, but it has decent furniture. It was built on a 1x3 lot next to the 2x3 church lot, as gentry can have 3x3 lots. I put some of the priest’s furniture on the community lot, so that there would be something there for weddings and other occasions.

I really wasn’t sure how the priest, Godwin Graves (Knowledge) would be earning money for giving sermons, so I thought I would set up a mini store with “bibles” on sale. Some day he could run a school perhaps. For this purpose I’ll probably have to get a mod that allows skill building on community lots or perhaps a whole school mod. I’m also considering the opportunity books.

This is the only household so far for which I decided to create only a single sim. I don’t know yet which direction I’d like this family to go into, but in my religion priests don’t get married. Still, he should probably get some heir, so perhaps adoption could be an option for him... or I could scrap the idea of having a priest altogether once we get monks or nuns in town.

I noticed Godwin’s LTW was to become the Education Minister and he was able to land a job in the Education career, even though according to the rules Education is supposed to be a Yeoman career. It makes no sense in my view, because they are supposed to be illiterate.

After Godwin’s first promotion in the Education career he got a “networking” opportunity from a townie, at the church. It was a job offer for the position of a Science Teacher, in the Science Career (level 4). I thought it was perfect, since it was also a teaching position and he wouldn’t get promoted, because he didn’t have the required skills. And also the priest is still earning less than the other gentry family and he didn’t get the promotion money. The priest earns 525$/day at school.

I made it so only my sims would come to the church on one day to see who would come. A lot of my sims came. Eustacia was showing off her skills at the organ, too. But the midwife never came (neither did her husband).

Godwin couldn’t help but wonder why, because she walked by the Presbytery a lot, but never stopped by for the mass. The priest might have to talk to her about it. Perhaps she needs to make a confession in private. The pregnant widow, Sibyl, didn’t come either, but that’s probably because she’s pregnant and doesn’t have anyone to leave her kid with.

The priest felt relieved Constantine was quite interested in church, despite rumors of him meeting a witch. He’s not a heretic after all. I guess Hortensia, the Plantsim, would also be considered some sort of a heretic by the priest, but perhaps the townsfolk thinks she suffers from some unknown disease that makes her skin green. Plantsims don’t really affect anything much, other than plants.

Godwin rolled a want to learn Couples counseling, which I thought was quite fitting, because at least the Catholic church would not accept divorces. Although priests are no psychologists, they would want couples to stay together. On Friday he learnt couples counseling, but he was so exhausted he didn’t go to church.

I almost totally forgot to roll, because there was no birth this round, but here it is – the ROS. We got number 41, and then 2. So the priest was trying his strength in a competition for a free cart. Unfortunately, he failed and now he’s very tired and he’ll only recover next round. I treated him as a sick sim. He did nothing but chilled in bed, reading books and praying to God the whole weekend. He also wrote sermons in his diary, because his social need was really low and I don’t think a priest would appreciate a visit of the Social bunny.

Godwin Graves should have earned 4,132$ this round (he bought a chess table, so he spent 450$).

413$ – tax.

3000$ – rent.

He paid 3400$ to the Royal Steward. The Royal Steward has 19,450$.

Godwin’s not paying the tithe to himself, so I’ll ignore it. He’s left with $20,282. He will be getting 10% of everyone’s income from now on, since I think the priest should be given the tithe. According to the rules tithes would be paid to the monastery, but I think they would go to the priest, if there was one in town. Perhaps the priest will start a monastery once he dies or something. Monks could probably be in charge of the church.

You like to play elders in ts2?❣️ Why so many players hate them? 💭

I do enjoy playing elders! I like playing any sim with story potential, and a lot of times elders have a whole life full of drama to dredge up (implied or experienced in game), or they're in the perfect place to change things up because they're retired (and sometimes single/widowed).

I confess, I used to be one of those players that didn't enjoy playing them. Elders were retired, they'd finished their LTWs (and couldn't complete whatever new one they rolled), and I didn't know how to add my own spice to the game. I was just a youngster overwhelmed by the needs of my sims, and elders were always at home! I was also a youngster with culturally learned ageism, which I probably transplanted onto pixelated elders. "Old people are boring," I can hear an ignorant 13-year-old me whine from over a decade in the past.

Honestly, I don't see a lot of dislike for elders in the Simblr community. I'd like to think we all grew up a little and realized that it's not a sim's age that makes them boring. Some sims are just born boring, live boring lives, and die a boring death.

How do you pick the names for your Sims: Most of the time I use online name websites but sometimes if I'm lazy and tired of seeing CAS, I prefer to use the randomizer until I get a name I like

Create a spouse or find them in game (townies): I honestly love making spouses for sims, but when I'm doing challenges like the decades challenge, I'll find a townie and just give them a whole new name and look... which is probably the same thing.

Do you prefer following storytelling simblrs or gameplay simblrs: I definitely prefer storytelling over gameplay. I like to see how others tell their stories - but I have to confess, I mostly follow cc creators

Ishkibal aged up into a cute babey - another one with mom’s nose! Then Beletsunu got posessed by an evil spirit, Ninki nearly had a mental breakdown, Boniface confessed his not-at-all-mutual attraction to Galia with the llama mascot, and we somehow passed senior year all things considered with the lowest GPA out of the four of them. She’d have done lots better had she not been forced to marry her professor, whoops. Raising not one but two babies while being in college makes gaining more than the necessary skills difficult.

After that, it was time for Beletsunu to age up. To make things smooth and tie up loose ends, I play an extra day so she can grow up. But there’s a catch. Normally I’d just let it happen next rotation..

But Boniface has his own LTW that makes things interesting. He wants to marry off five children. Why not start early? Especially with a daughter that’s easier to spare than a son?

Having started to play the Sims 3 more I realized what I found annoying about Sims 4 was the lack of challenge. Sims 3 makes it hard to get things, the LTW you have to work for, relationships you have to work for, whereas Sims 4 makes everything a bit too easy.

So, I decided to set my own goals. I’d like each heir to achieve something new whether that be a career, family, home, lifestyle.

For this game going forward I want Kate to reach the top of the Archaeology career and Juana to reach the top of the Dog Trainer career (both mods)

Ok! Onto part 3

Missing Juana, Kate called her up and they had a day trip to Sulani. After playing on the beach they both confessed how much they had missed each other and decided to give the relationship a proper go

Juana moved to Windenburg and quickly fell pregnant. It was a bit sooner than the couple expected but both were happy with the situation. The dogs were thrilled too.

Juana, a committed dog person, took it upon herself to train the 5 dogs and quickly made a career out of training and adopting out rescue dogs. 

The house was extended to include a new nursery and a dog room.

Even though Ava was her favourite Juana spent time with all the dogs. Soon Odin and Loki were trained up and adopted out to loving homes.  

It wasn’t long before Juana was ready to give birth .

They welcomed a baby daughter, Lisabetta.
