Last November I spent my Birthday weekend flitting between a friend's hen party and rehearsing and filming a play that my husband and kids had also taken part in with our local amateur theatre company. Written by @suepeto about the abuses and challenges experienced by a young person she had been mentoring through the @helpourpromisework charity it is a hard hitting piece of physical theatre that was very challenging to do. #Whatever! has now been released online for colleges and schools to use as a learning resource to discuss #domesticviolence, #fostercare #lookedafterchildren , #bullying, and the #stigma and #prejudice that young people in the care system face. Funds raised from licensing will support that brave young person and the Promise Works charity which changes so many young lives. The film has also just been commended at the @The_JAIFF . I painted this to give a sense of brightness and personality to a room in a group home for children in care last week. Amazed and humbled by the experiences of these children and the effort put in by those who work with them. Every child in the home contributed an idea to the overall design - horses made of music, happy cows, free birds, castles and Michael Jordan. What a mash up!!
