Read Darkness Within all in one sitting last night and then passed out so here are my scattered thoughts i wrote down as i read, (afterthoughts in parenthesis)

Darkness Within Spoilers, obv

UGH GOD THE SECOND HAND EMBARRESMENT FROM SQUIRREL FAKE FLIRTING WITH ASHFUR IT HURTS

Just remembered Sandynose died and got a small boost of happiness (will Hawkwing and Plumwillow ever be allowed to talk again now? I mean probly not b/c they aren’t protags and non-protags don’t rly have friends but I can hope. Sorry, Hawkwhing and Plumwillow’s short-lived friendship in Hawkwings Journey was one of the last times I felt something)

Mothwing: i’m rude now. (but more importantly, Fuck Tigerheartstar for forcing his son to be around the cat that hurt him so badly, like he HAS to know how upset everyone is regarding Shadowsight and his accidentally helping the imposter, and he’s making him be the sole one to tend to him??? There is NO REASON Puddleshine couldn’t have done it. You think Puddleshine is going to try and murder someone?? )

Oh no don't make this a traveling book, and a ROOTBRISTLE traveling book this is going to be insufferable

BACON AND EGGS

Lightleap Is Good (Hey didn’t Shadowsight have another sister? lets be real we all knew Pouncekit was going to end up as the forgettable 3rd one)

Bristlefrost’s crush continues to feel unnatural to me. It’s like she’s grasping at straws romanticizing the most generic things.....wow....I love how ur just so...bare minimum competent....being polite to the loner we came all this way to ask for help like any somewhat reasonable person would....How admirable...I love the way you just *clenches fist* exhibit some basic traits of loyalty and skill that literally every warrior has (I s2g I’m this close to head canon-ing Bristle as a clueless aromantic who doesn't understand what romance is actually suppose to feel like so she just looks at feelings of low-bar admiration and assumes “oh I guess this is that “romantic attraction” everyone’s always talking about? guess I must be in love???” because both her crushes have felt out of nowhere and like. Idk fake/forced sounding like she’s just telling me that that she’s In Love Now while I continue to not actually feel it at all from her end. I know it’s just that I hate the way Erin’s write female characters in love but this head-canon makes me laugh)

Got scared because I thought they were going to villainize Spotfur for not wanting kits for a minute, but also excited at the concept of maybe exploring a female character that doesn’t want to be a mother, but it turns out she was just pulling a Sparkpelt and actually DID want the kits all along and was only hesitant because she’s sad. Shrug oh well. (the only female character in warriors that was distinctly upset about pregnancy and motherhood was Lizardstripe and as we all know she was eeeeeevil and abusive and “overly ambitious” because why else would you not come around to being happy about motherhood?? YES I’M STILL SALTY ABOUT YELLOWFANG’S SECRET, BAD BOOK) Whatever it’s fine so long as Spot doesn’t lose her rebel leader spirit forever and default to “soft mom” personality for the rest of her life, I gotta have hope because I actually like Bristle and Spot’s current relationship. Also I am actually very grateful they never made Bristle resentful at Spot for getting with her crush, as lots of middle grade/YA media has a very bad habit of demonizing female romantic “competition” and its super gross, so I rly do like that Bristlefrost is so protective and caring towards her instead. )

This series is trying to tell me that Rootspring is actually Big but I refuse to accept that. he has dumb scrawny bitch energy and we all know it

Sunrise: “Thunderclan may be better with a new leader” lol go off (i mean........they right tho...It’s unfortunate that the tension in this whole plot is a bit dampened by the fact that i DO in fact want bramble to die v badly. I don’t even have special hatred for him, I’m just bored of him.)

*HOLY SHIT THAT’S FUCKED!!!! (I wrote this in reference to the ghost summoning scene, this was all I could manage at the time, that scene was WILD and I am VIBING WITH THE HORROR OF IT ALL)

* Brashfur: Oh yeah? Could Ashfur fake THIS? *stands up with slightly better posture* Shadowsight: oh damn you got me there...... (asdfhhfhhgh im sorry that was really funny, how did that prove anything?? ONLY A ~REAL~ WARRIOR COULD STAND UP STRAIGHT WE ALL KNOW ASHFUR IS INCAPABLE OF GOOD POSTURE!)

End of the book: *LAUGHING NERVOUSLY* WHAT THE FUCK??? (I thought he was just gonna kill Squirrelflight right there holy shit can you imagine the RIOTS that would ensue in the wake of all this Squirrel/Bramble discourse I was so scared for a second.

But it’s fine, she just....went to super hell instead......Warriors has come so far lmao WHAT IS HAPPENING

Final Notes:

*On Mothwing, I don’t think her behavior struck me as “CHARACTER BUTCHERING” as much as it did for other people? I mean.....Warriors fans will say that literally any time a character does ANYTHING less then perfectly nice I think her actions just seemed that much harsher because we are reading from Shadowsight’s POV, and Shadowsight is taking everything 10x more personally right now (understandably so, but Mothwing isn’t inside his head) she wasn’t trying to hurt him. Also... like... Shadowsight DID get his name too early. It’s not Mothwing’s job to put his feelings above everything else, she’s not even his mentor, Puddleshine on the other hand, as his main mentor, I don’t understand what his deal is ignoring Shadowsight, that’s not how you help an apprentice but I suppose I chalk many of his mistakes up to also not being the most experienced medicine cat (he barely even had his own mentor.) Maybe he’s distant because he feels guilty and actually blames himself for not guiding Shadowsight better?? the two of them haven’t communicated about it yet so idk

any way I give Mothwing a pass to be a little short tempered right now as a cat who has had her abilities periodically questioned all her life no matter how hard she works or how much experience she has, just because she doesn’t vibe with the spiritual cult side of the clans, I can understand why she’s a bit defensive of being questioned and frustrated watching so much hurt happen Yet Again due to reliance on StarClan visions over common sense, and I for one still stan her for slandering StarClan and refusing to accept Mistystar’s bullshit banishing like everyone else. Sometimes a character is at the end of their rope and can’t manage to be 100% nice 24/7 and that’s maybe not inherently bad writing? idk just my hot take. At a certain point we all gotta reckon with the fact that our perception of most popular supporting characters in heavily colored by fanon and we can’t always get mad at the authors for not adhering to it

*The sisters magic shit is my fav worldbuilding warriors has had in AGES, I love the way it’s described and it actually feels like it adds something to this world. I love this horror imagery with the ghosts, very excited for that.

*still won’t be thrilled if Ashfur is working alone, because his motive doesn’t make sense right now. I mean the trying to get Squilf thing, sure, whatever, but the “I will make everyone pay for what they did to me”???? cause like?? Who??? they didn’t do anything to him?? Ashfur’s grievance was very specifically JUST Squilf. He has no other cause for revenge, he had no other beef or complaints about the clans to my knowledge? The cat that killed him is dead, and she’s like, the only other one that I could see as having “wronged” him?? I guess he also didn’t like Firestar much according to Graystripe’s Vow (and on account of how willing he was to kill him w/ Hawkfrost) but Firestar is ALSO dead. I don’t understand his angle. Will have to see last 2 books to judge i suppose.

*All in all I am interested to see where this is going!! but also the pacing as I feared is becoming a major issue. It’s better then ending the main conflict on book 3 like Vision of Shadows did, but omg. Hardly anything happened in all these pages. I realized I was over half way through and nothing about the situation had actually CHANGED or advanced at all in all that time. Similar to the past 2 books which I believe could have been combined, this plot felt like it should have been the first half of a book. Discussing whether or not to kill the imposter isn’t much of a standalone plot, it’s just the set up to a plot. Finding the sisters didn’t need to be a whole long thing, the debates about the Imposters fate didn’t need to be repeated 10 times, all those chapters illustrating that “Shadowsight is sad” were also drawn out, repetitive, and interchangeable, we probably only needed 2 or so chapters showing his struggles to get the necessary information across. It felt like a lot of padding, it was really slow and I did a lot of skimming. I am still very interested in the overarching plot and mystery behind the ghosts so that kept me reading but man this “will they won’t they kill him” plot did not justify it’s own whole book. Alas this is a persisting issue that will never be resolved while they continue to force 6 books into 1 series that doesn’t need 6 books. I’m sure the writers are doing the best they can with these unfortunate constraints but still, it’s a wonder this slow padding isn’t more of a detriment to their younger readers that the books are supposed to be marketed to.

he has four kids, 3 boys and 1 girl. wong liwei is the oldest, then 5 years later, wong liqiang was born and 5 years after that, the twins wong lijie and wong lina were born.

(when lijie and lina were born, liwei was 10 and liqiang was 5)

pure and utter sunshine

so energetic

but so happy and giggly and ah

he was a tough baby

as weird as that sounds

like if an accident happens

liwei just didn’t cry?

like if yukhei was tossing liwei in the air or something

and he threw him a little too hard

and liwei’s head it the ceiling

liwei just wouldn’t cry

he’ll like try to reach the spot that hurts, but he simple just won’t cry.

liwei was honestly a puppy

like he was filled with endless amounts of energy

he was indestructible

he didn’t bruise easily either

like he just was made of steel or something

liwei was a really fast baby

like the second he could pick up his head and do some “tummy time”

he was already trying to crawl

the second he mastered crawling

he was already trying to stand

the second he could stand

he was already trying to walk

the second he could walk

he was already running

liwei slowed down for NOBODY

not even mom or dad

thank god yukhei had long limbs and was also full of energy

but baby liwei could out energy the most energetic dad

liwei had pretty tan skin as a baby too

like he tanned easily

is best friends with kun’s oldest, qian lei

liwei is kinda aloof and happy go lucky

but lei is super logical and such

they are polar opposites, but the do be vibing tho

like why did liwei just roll around on the grass in his white shirt?

why did liwei decide to decorate his bag with all of the stickers?

but liwei is honestly just living his best life

liwei is just trying to have the most fun as possible

he was still a handful

like you and yukhei didn’t want to go out with him a lot because he was just so much

liwei remained super handsome

all the girls had crushes on him

but he was just clueless to all of them lol

liwei loved all things superhero

and he loved music and playing music with lei

like liwei was honestly really good at music too

like naturally

he was naturally really good at rhythms and such

he joined all bands possible at his school to be a percussionist

like usually, there are like 3-5 percussionist who cover a whole bunch of different percussion instruments

but liwei had so much energy that he honestly was able to cover most of them on his own

liwei was born with SUPER DUPER thick hair

like you had to take him to cut it almost twice a month

his hair grew so quickly

on the days where everything was just too hectic

you would just give him some of your hair clips

liwei wouldn’t complain

when liwei learned he was gonna be an older brother he was HYPED at the idea

but when liqiang actually came out?

liwei didn’t care lol

he was like “that is my baby brother?”

liwei didn’t understand why liqiang couldn’t like run or dance

lol liwei probably went through a whole phase where he did not believe he could have been a baby before

for example (this is like a week or so after liqiang was born)

liwei: mom, why is liqiang so dumb?

you: liwei! don’t say that about your brother; he’s just a baby.

yukhei: yeah, you know, you were just like that before, liwei.

liwei: there is absolutely no way that i used to be like that. there’s no way i could have been that small

you: liwei, babies grow. do you honestly believe you’ve looked like this your whole life?

liwei: *nods with all confidence”

he simply just didn’t believe he was a baby lol

it took you and yukhei a lot of convincing him and when liqiang finally grew up, liwei agreed haha

once he warms up to it, he’s honestly a really good big brother

liwei is so helpful especially with all of his little siblings

he helps with the little things while you help them out with all of the other things

he was just a big ball of energy just trying to have the most fun

he somehow lost all of his energy

as an adult, he’s one of the most chill and relaxed people in the group

even when situations get energetic, he’s just chill

all of his energy was used up when he was a child lol

like the “real” him is chill lmao

even he doesn’t know what happened

he just suddenly became chill

he’s not like constantly tired or anything like that

liwei is just chill

not like 4/20 chill

just one of those people you vibe well with lol

he and lei still remain best friends

his energy sometimes returns whenever he hangs out with her

as a model tho, he’s so successful

like noah seo and him do a lot of modeling gigs together

and like the world just adores their faces

they’re both just so handsome it’s insane lol

he’s a pretty responsible big brother

like he makes sure his siblings are always taken care of and makes sure that they always know where to go if they need anything

he’s the type of person to never text first tho lol

like obviously if one of his siblings is going though something, he’ll check on them

but if any of his siblings wanted to have a normal chat with him on just any given day,

they have to text him first

it’s funny because his siblings are still super energetic

but he’s just somehow remained so chill

he’s very loving to his family tho

he inherited his dad’s laugh

he’s so tall and just big

but he laughs in tiny

he knows that he’s handsome and when people point it out it doesn’t bug him in the slightest

he actually likes being called handsome lol

in terms of relationships, he’s okay in them

he’s always asking lei for advice

she’ll tell him as it is lol

but yeah

liwei was one of the craziest kids, but somehow something in his life changed and now he’s one of the chillest.

WONG LIQIANG:

also really happy and energetic

a super active baby

a lot like his older brother

music appealed to him way more than it did to liwei

he was able to grasp music so easily at an early age

like he responded so positively to music

he learned through music

like legit

if you were not singing

he wouldn’t learn

he inherited his dad’s huuuuge eyes

from an early age he had such a boyish charm

when liqiang smiled, he smiled

he wouldn’t just smile with his mouth

he would smile with his whole face

his little nose would scrunch up

his eyes would make adorable little cresents

his two teeth would show proudly

liqiang just had the sweetest and most endearing smile

he was a rather small baby

like when he was born, all yukhei had to do was cup both of his hands and liqiang could fit comfortably

it was a little scary at first with how small he was

but that didn’t stop little liqiang!

from the second he could open his eyes, he was already closing them with all of his smiles

he brought so much joy to you and yukhei

liwei was still a little confused why liqiang was like he was

liwei genuinely did not believe that babies were a thing lol

but when he warmed up to the idea, liwei was an alarmingly good brother

liwei didn’t understand volume control at all lol so he was just constantly yelling at liqiang

he thought that liqiang’s lack of response meant he couldn’t hear liwei (you had to explain to liwei that liqiang just has an inability to speak as a 4 month old)

that didn’t stop liwei in the slightest

he would keep trying to talk to his baby brother

until eventually, the first time liqiang ever responded to a vocal cue with a noise of his own was when liwei was talking to him

liwei was so proud that he did that lol

liwei may have been skeptical at first, but he quickly became an amazing brother

still super goofy and energetic

he is just a big puppy

like he’s so clumsy

but he’s just so full of love and happiness it’s just so cute

he’s not as loud as his older brother, but he matches up with the energy

he’s always trailing behind liwei

liwei makes sure liqiang is included and taken care of

liqiang is still on the smaller side as a child

don’t worry, he was just a late bloomer

liqiang was really smart and talented at a lot of things

but all he wants to do is to make his older brother proud

he’s best friends with kun’s youngest daughter, qian fen

qian fen is mild mannered, kind, and caring

when liqiang is around fen, he’s so different

when he’s around his brother, he’s full of so much energy

but when he’s around fen, he becomes sweet and mild

they became best friends because their born the same year

fen always had a crush on him growing up

she thought he was so handsome lol

liqiang probably was just a big dummy and didn’t even realize it

both him and fen agree that food is the best thing ever and that’s how they relate to each other

liqiang learns how to bake with fen

when liwei learned how to use a phone, the first person he called was neither you or lucas

it was fen

it’s refreshing to see your energetic son calm down around his best friend

even tho yukhei was busy on tours and stuff, he did all he can to be with you guys as often as possible

yukhei loved taking his sons out for little play dates

that’s when the boys were the most energetic

when they were around yukhei

yukhei was definitely not the scary parent lol it had to be you

even if you didn’t have it in you to be the scary parent, there was no one who would do it for you guys

even if liqiang didn’t do anything wrong, he would say that he was equally at fault

he was a compassionate little bean

still was obsessed with music

he was really smart and can learn in any way

but if there is a song version to anything, he almost learns it instantly

he ends up being the CEO of an entertainment company

like he doesn’t abuse his artists or anything

he’s really empathetic and he’s genuinely okay with his artists not being at the top

a lot of his stuff is like DPR’s

like they produce high quality, beautiful music

with visuals that are insanely beautiful

so like

imagine DPR style things with boy groups

liqiang is a rather young CEO too

a lot of people think that he’s an idol himself lol

but he’s like “uhh, no, i’m the guy who’s gonna discuss your benefits and the budgets...”

when he’s serious, it’s lowkey kinda scary

like he works hard constantly

he’s always making sure his artists are okay and taken care of

a lot of people sleep on his group because they’re not considered the most popular

but they really do be producing bops tho

when he’s working, he tends to be really really serious

but when he’s around fen, his puppy personality comes back

helps qian fen run her cafe

she was able to establish it herself, but she got in the mix with a bad landlord and stuff

so liqiang bought the whole building so she could stay there and do as she pleased

he works there from time to time with his best friend

he is happiest when he’s working in the cafe

fen’s restaurant starts to open up and open more locations

one of her locations is where liqiang sends some trainees that want to make some money

they work there part time lol

no one really realizes it

like imagine

someone was a regular at that cafe

then all of a sudden, all of the waiters/baristas aren’t working there anymore and are replaced with a whole new bunch of young men

that someone looks on their phone and sees the waiters and baristas on their debut stage lolol

liqiang wants to help as many people as possible

his goal in life is to provide people an opportunity to express their voice and to become successful in anyway they can

he’s just such an empathetic and hard working guy

WONG LIJIE: >> as a baby <<

a weird chill for your family

you were not ready for twins

well, you were not ready for twins to be just like liwei and liqiang

but when lijie came out just so chill everyone was so confused lol

he definitely was yukhei’s baby tho because he definitely looked just like his dad

liwei and liqiang are both a mix of you and yukhei

but lijie????

he’s literally just yukhei

like there is NOTHING that resembles you in that child

(if you have a chill personality you can say that he inherited that from you lol)

imagine if you gave little baby yukhei a chill pill

that’s lijie

lijie was just like peace love and flowers as a baby

he had his dad’s big eyes

but they were droopy like 23/24 hours of the day

even if his twin sister would be pestering him

he wouldn’t really care

he only cried when things got real heckin bad

lijie is the older twin

and from an early age he already was making sure his sister was okay

like he was already doing subtle things to make sure she’s okay

like they would share a crib during nap time

and like all of the stuff animals would somehow end up with lina

lijie didn’t mind tho

he was a godsend to your chaotic yet beautiful life

he learned everything first tho

like he learned how to crawl first

he learned how to walk first

he learned how to speak first

lijie learned everything before lina

he was just so attentive to the youngest tho

lijie inherited yukhei’s sweet and caring soul

he’s so close with lina

like they’re your perfect example of twin siblings

they have the twin telepathy thing lmao

but he’s just so freaking chill like all the time

nothing phases him too much

like lina is so active and just like her brothers

but even when lina is like pushing all of his buttons

lijie just brushes it off lmao

he’s just vibing 24/7 at this point

lijie favorite thing to do is sleep

but he’s honestly the most talented at everything amongst all of your kids

when he puts his mind into something, he’s so talented

he just doesn’t really care tho lol

lijie is so lazy at times

but when things need to get done, he’ll get it done

he loves his brothers tho, you don’t need to worry about that

he may be lazy, but if his brothers want to hangout, he’ll go and hangout with them no questions asked

if his energetic brothers wanted to play soccer, he would either keep score or be the goalkeeper

lijie is definitely the most energetic when he with with his older brothers

even though he prefers to be lazy, he’ll do anything for his brothers

family is the biggest priority in his life

the most common thing he says is “i’m sleepy”

everytime he walks into a room

any room

any place

“i’m sleepy”

he’s best friends with jeno’s oldest, lee jungho

they became best friends because they were born the same year and they’re the most calm in their generation

every single baby in their generation has crackhead energy

but lijie and jungho would just be vibing on the side

jungho is the oldest of the group and everyone thought he would be the one who leads the crackheads

but the crackhead group leads themselves lmao

lijie is still attentive and caring towards his twin sister

they really do have the twin telepathy tho

like when you would take the two of them to a doctors appointment

they would have conversations with each other without even talking

lijie and lina just knew exactly what the other one was saying

as the youngest in the family, they related to a lot of things together

he joins a boy group

his vibe is like hyungwon from monsta x

but he has his dad’s work ethic

(just a quick lucas fact if you didn’t know, but when he joined the agency with his legendary 3 pose audition, they originally were gonna make him just a model but lucas worked so hard in his dancing and rapping in order to join nct so he wouldn’t be “lonely”. lucas has such a good work ethic even tho he seems to just be a big ole goof most of the time lol)

he was scouted just like his dad was

and he was going to just be a model just like his dad

but with his dad’s advice, he worked hard to join a boy group

he starts out at a small entertainment company

and he enjoys his time there

jungho is also in the group

they were honestly so happy that they were able to join a group together because that almost never happens amongst friends

but eventually something happens within that company and the group has to choose a different label

the fans were sad because lijie’s group was starting to get big

lijie didn’t really like to use his connections, but he also wants to make as many people happy as possible

by that time, his older brother liqiang’s entertainment company already took off and had a couple solo artists that was making the label known

lijie asked his brother if he could take in his group

liqiang accepted it immediately because there honestly was no bad side to any of this

under liqiang’s company, lijie’s group became hella big

like hella big

like winning at least one award at every single award show

lijie definitely was not the leader of the group

but he was the lead dancer alongside jungho

they’re like moonbin and rocky from astro

best dancing friends destined to dance together

lol they probably were thrown into a group full of crackheads too lol

it’s okay, they grew up dealing with them they know how to deal with their group lol

jungho and lijie always do vlives together and stuff

like it’s obvious to see that they are best friends

he still is so caring towards his little sister tho

they collab together and stuff but no matter how busy he is, he makes sure he goes to visit her at least like 2 times a month

yukhei’s actual princess

like he’s so happy to be the father of 3 boys

but he’s secretly wanted a girl for the longest time

and when he got a daughter?

he was over the moon

but she inherited the nature of her older brothers excluding lijie

so like

there were 4 suns in your life

yukhei, liwei, liqiang, and now lina

lina was a sweetheart with an endearing smile

she resembles you more than she resemble yukhei

but when she talked

she freaking yelled

especially if she was excited

while her brothers were running around the house

she would waddle over to them as fast as she can

and if she can’t keep up

she’ll just be super giggly but then suddenly she’ll plant both of her feet, take a deep breath

AND YELL

for no reason lol

just to let you know that she can yell

she had huge eyes and always wanted to watch someone

lina loved to people watch from an early age

like the times where the energy wasn’t too high and it was only the twins in the house because the older boys were at school

she would just have her eyes on anyone in the house

the first game she ever learned was a staring contest game lol

yukhei insisted that she learned that game simply because she loved to stare at people lol

yukhei is a really good girl dad

like sometimes you can just tell with some guys

but yukhei is really gonna be a good girl dad

usually, dads who have all boys tend to not be good girl dads

but yukhei is

he’s so caring and attentive to all of his kids, but he’s even more so with lina

when he heard that you were gonna have twins, he was honestly over the moon

regardless of how you reacted, yukhei couldn’t hide his true feelings and let you know just how happy he was

the second he heard that one of the babies is a girl, he teared up a bit

when the twins were born, there were literal heart eyes coming from his face

he was so gentle with them

he was even more gentle with his youngest baby

lina was a sweetheart who simply had a bit of a staring problem but it’s just because she finds everything so beautiful

she’s just in a forever state of excited

Hey i understand how weird and intense and out of place this could sound, but i need to say it: I really want to have a big open discussion on religion, more precisely christianism.

Let me explain my context and my background so that it makes sense to you:

I was born and raised in Québec, Canada. Here, the “norm” in terms of religion has always been christian catholicism (historically speaking, it was like the official and most common one). That’s what my ancestors identified as. I know my grandparents were a lot more into religion than me when they were young: catechism was still part of the school curriculum, idk if they went to church every sunday but i know they went a lot more than i do. My parents still had catechism as part of the school curriculum, but it was less present. They didn’t go to church every sunday. And now, me: Growing up, I was taught very very basic things about christianity. Mostly, it was my grandma who told me stuff here and there about it. I don’t think my parents taught me anything about it except maybe like the story of the birth of jesus. I understood from what she told me that Jesus was good and he loved me and all of us very much and he’s in the sky in heaven watching over us with God. He had a mom called Mary and a dad called Joseph (now I know it’s not really his dad but that’s what I understood back then). In school, up until I was like 10, we still had what was called “religious teaching” in the curriculum, but it was a very very small part of what we were taught (I barely remember anything from it) and it was really vague. Then, they completely deleted this class and changed it for “Ethics and religious culture” (in the public school curriculum) because of various reasons.

I was baptized but (obviously) i don’t remember it because i wasn’t even a year old. I did my first communion at like 9 years old. my parents did theirs with the school during their time, it was part of the curriculum. same for their confirmation. i did it bc i saw other people in my class who did it and i didnt want to be left out. my parents agreed but they were confused bc they thought the school was taking care of it but not anymore haha. The confirmation was supposed to be at like 12 years old but i didn’t do it bc i was starting to understand more about what religion meant and what it was and realized i didn’t care and didn’t really identified as a christian. Later, my cousin wanted me to be the godmother of her son but i needed my confirmation in order to be officially recognized as the godmother during his baptism. So i did it, but only because of that. I was around 18 years old.

The things I had to do for my confirmation made me question my faith a lot. I knew for a fact that I believed in God (like, a superior entity or a superior kinda force responsible for the creation of the world) and i believed in Jesus (i mean theres scientific and historical proof he existed) and from what I understood and knew about him, I thought he sounded like a really neat guy. But I didn’t identify as a christian, really. Religion just wasn’t part of my life, period, so I never really thought about it or about my beliefs. But then, i started to be more and more interested in what the frick was in the bible and what was it that made people so so so so PASSIONATE about it. So i started reading it a bit and i thought it was a cool story lmao but i didn’t get very far, like i read maybe 1/20 of it. What really bugged me about it in the first place is that I knew that the people I hated (homophobes, transphobes, sexists, racists, etc.) were often really religious and often backed up their arguments with “the bible”. So i just assumed that i wouldn’t agree with the bible anyways bc it doesn’t match my beliefs.

I didn’t continue reading the bible (should probably continue, one day... like 5 years later lmao) simply bc i’m a procrastinator and i can’t keep up with my 109357976598 personal projects and ideas. But i watched many videos on youtube about religion, i watched a lot of debates, i listened to people with very different points of views and interpretations of the bible and of christianity in general. And it just confused me even more lmao bc i don’t know what the frick i believe in.

I questioned myself a lot on the validity of the bible. I know that for some of you christians, reading this probably makes you cringe and want to vomit but please understand my background and where i’m coming from. I was confused bc so many conservative people are like “being gay is a sin, it says it in the bible”, but there are also SO many things that are considered “sin” in the bible that these people are actively doing... So, how do you know what to follow and what to ignore in the bible? How do you know how to interpret the messages? And how do you know if YOU interpret the messages right? Who can dictate us except god itself or jesus himself? I was so confused. It seemed like downright hypocrisy to me. Like... who are we to interpret god’s words? we’re just dumb humans. Maybe we got it all wrong. we’ll never know!!!! that’s scary to me...

Also... from everything i read about Jesus, i knew it was my boi. I loved him. I agreed and felt everything he preached. But then why do those conservatives who have like the opposite values as me love Jesus too? Is there something i’m getting wrong? Is there something that THEY are getting wrong? How is it possible? That means we must be interpreting things differently... so then the question comes again, HOW DO WE KNOW WHO’S GOT THE RIGHT INTERPRETATION AIUDGOIGHEOIRHJEROITHWIEUYG And then i started to dig deeper in my thoughts and to wonder: who REALLY wrote the bible? Men did. They are just writing down “god’s words” but dang, the words are still nonetheless written by men. mere mortals. human beings like you and me. How do we know they wrote down god’s words correctly? How do we know they were not imposters? And then, there’s the translation of the bible. I can’t believe there weren’t any translation mistakes? how do we know they did a good job?

Do you understand my concern? I’m just wondering how can we place our faith into the bible when we know it was written by men.

I know it may seem like a very bold question but please understand that I know next to nothing about christianity and religion, i’m new to all this. I am just trying to understand.

So now I would like to know, what do you guys think about this? Is there one of you who has a similar experience? Any one of you can relate? What’s your opinion?

P.S. Just to make it clear, I am not here to start a debate or to attack anyone. I am currently pretty neutral in terms of christianity, like I’m just trying to view it from an objective perspective. As I told you, I don’t know enough about it to really take position. I am clueless. So please, do not view my questions and my invitation for discussion as an attack or the start of an argument. I’m just a dumb girl who wants to discuss and open up her mind. Whoever you are, christian or not, even if you’re an atheist, i’m interested in hearing your opinion.

As a villain? Yeah. She has a goal and she’s trying to achieve it. Yes she’s failing but she’s got some good patience that I wish I had.

As a normal character? Idk she’s alright she has her own problems like everyone, she isn’t the greatest mother but I think it’s just cause she’s focusing more on the future instead of the present, again she wants to keep everything grounded. “Luffy had no reaction to Boa...doesn’t that mean he won’t have romance?”

I’ve been debating about posting this blog because I was hesitant about the kind of reaction it would receive. But I think this topic is worth discussing logically.

Alright, so let’s dig into this thing.

If we’re going to understand Luffy and his actions (or not actions) towards Boa, then we have to first understand him as being a character that fits the Battle Shonen archetype. The genre, despite people’s complaints about it, is the most popular type of manga/anime genre there is. And One Piece, for all its glorious writing, world building and character development, is perfectly happy to sit in its genre, with Luffy fitting right into the hero archetype.

Where did this archetype even come from? It may surprise you to learn that Dragon Ball is in fact the grandfather of modern Shonen. You know what kind of stories were running in WSJ as DB’s contemporaries? Big burley manly men who never changed or progressed like Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star.

And the antithesis of this is Goku, little innocent Goku who takes this character type and flip it on its head. (Kid Goku is so cute guys! *cries*)

Toriyama’s writing absolutely can’t be understated here. Nobody had ever seen anything like Dragon Ball. It became a cultural phenomenon. It became a blueprint for success.

The classic Shonen Hero archetype has evolved into the following:

innocent

clueless when it comes to love

loves to fight/ get stronger

has a catch phrase

wants to protect their “Nakama”

thinks before they act

often stupid or a simpleton

gains power ups through training and other means

cute

Within the archetype you’ve got big hitters such as:

Goku— the OG who was so clueless, he couldn’t tell someone’s gender without slapping them in the crotch. Also obsessed with getting stronger to the detriment of, well, everything

Luffy— the uber innocent muffin who will do anything for his crew, and will go out of his way for people if it concerns their dreams. Aware of his weaknesses more than the others, Also really dumb at first

Naruto--- the misfit who starts out peeping at girls but then ends up taking on the burden of the entire world, because he’s THAT concerned about everyone and everything. Definitely the most selfless, has dumb moments, but smarter than the others

Ichigo--- the lovable grump who literally doesn’t give a shit. Coolest one of the bunch

Natsu--- loves his friends so much he gains power ups in the middle of the battle to win through the power of friendship. Probably the funniest one, takes life one job request at a time

Asta— the new kid on the block. Constantly yells to the point of irritation, believes working hard will solve all problems, doesn’t understand how relationships work and that nuns don’t get married

Deku— I know people will ask. Yes, he is a Shonen Hero, But doesn’t fit into the archetype so be will be left out of the discussion (the kid actually suffers from overthinking...complete opposite than these lovable idiots)

So, for fun, let’s throw all these Shonen Heroes into the same situation Luffy found himself in

All of these heroes fall through the ceiling and into Boa Hancock’s bath where they come face to face with the most beautiful woman on the planet who is naked.

Goku: completely unphased by Boa’s beauty. Asks who Boa is, and when she gets pissed, stands there with a “huh?” Look on his face when she shoots the love beam at him. After it has no effect, Goku puts his hand up with a smile and then says, “see ya!” Before flying off. Probably more concerned with where Vegeta went and if he managed to find a new level of Super Saiyan

Naruto: definitely phased by Boa. Would probably turn to stone ahahahaha

Ichigo: after being annoyed because he fell through the roof, would take one look at Boa, and get flustered out of embarrassment. By the time Boa tries to question him, he’s already left and found the exit.

Natsu: upon falling into the bath, he’d also be completely unphased by Boa. Would most likely take note of her earrings and ask about them. He’d probably also end up saying something Boa would find unbelievably rude, but something I would laugh hysterically at. “Woah?! Is that your guild mark?! Cool!!!”

Asta: I imagine Asta would most likely cover his eyes out of courtesy, and ask for the way out. When Boa gets mad and asks why he’s not head over heals for her, nor why he’s looking at her body, he’d say something like, “sister Lilly is waiting for me” and then leave. *sigh*

So here’s my point. Three of our boys would have the same exact reaction as Luffy. When it comes to the archetype, lusting after girls simply isn’t in their nature. Natsu’s reaction to a naked Lucy was to cover her boobs with his hands “fine I’ll cover them” he sighs in the dub. No lustful reaction whatsoever. I’m pretty sure any normal guy would, um, not react that way. He looks so bored.

Asta refused to peep at a girls bath (way to shut that down buddy), and Goku’s seen plenty of naked people and he doesn’t care. He even has the same reaction in Dragon Ball Super, after he’s married, when he accidentally sees another woman naked (who is very beautiful).

Luffy’s reaction to Boa is completely in line with the archetype. The innocent nature of the main character is extremely important. Oda even says in the SBS that it would just be plain weird for Luffy to get a nose bleed. I agree.

So, do our boys reactions to Boa mean romance isn’t possible for them? Of course not. Goku got married and had 2 kids. Naruto, who is the most interested in women, got married. Ichigo ended up with someone and had a kid. Natsu’s relationship with Lucy isn’t “canon” yet, buuuttt with this sequel coming and all the art Mashima’s been posting, I think we can all just call it and it’ll be happening. As for Asta, the manga is still young so it’s hard to say, but judging how Tabata is treating romance in his manga, I’d say It’s a distinct possibility. Asta does have a low-key herem going on 🤷‍♀️

When Goku was a kid, he came across a foe who could turn evil (ie bad thoughts) into a weapon and kill you. Goku was the only person to ever survive because he has no impure thoughts. It basically works the same way as Boa’s love-love beam.

This innocence is why Goku can ride his magical flying cloud the Kinto-Un, aka the Flying Nimbus. That innocence in Goku stays with him forever, too. Goku can ride the cloud after he’s gotten married and created spawns. The idea is, sex isn’t dirty. It’s just how you treat it may or may not make it dirty (ie unwarranted advances). Master Roshi, Goku’s perverted teacher, can’t ride the Kinto-Un. Using Goku as an example, our innocent muffins can still have romance/make babies. Their highly innocent nature doesn’t stop them, but normally with these types, they will only have romance/make babies if it’s with one very special person.

This is important to remember; for this genre, romance is a part of maturing and growing up. Most of these shonen heroes end up with someone once they’ve passed a certain point.

In One Piece Specifically

When it comes to Oda’s writing specifically, romance between characters doesn’t really play a huge role in One Piece like the way it does in Naruto and Fairy Tail. Everyone who reads OP should recognize this. Whatever ends up happening at the end of One Piece, there aren’t going to be a zillion pairings and those pairings staring off into the sunset.

There’s that famous line from Oda where he answered a question in the SBS (from chapter 317)

D: Doesn't anyone on Luffy's crew fall in love? Will there never be a tale of on-board romance? (Sanji is an exception in this case) I'm just wondering.

O: OF COURSE THEY'RE IN LOVE... WITH ADVENTURE! (← good one)

The SBS is a place where Oda jokes around with his readers. I think his answer is a good answer because it’s true, and when it comes down to it, a deflective answer. And whatever else Oda has said or hasn’t said in magazines or interviews, Oda can change his mind about what he wants to include or not include in his manga.

The reason I think this is worth bringing up is because I can see a storytelling shift which has changed in his manga. Romance in any capacity used to play almost no role in the early story. Just think about the type of characters he was creating. You’ve got Nolan’s descendant who hangs out with guys that look like monkeys. You’ve got the giants of Elbaf, you’ve got the Galley-Law company guys. There’s hardly any blood families in the first half either. Vivi and her Dad are a notable example, but they are the minority, not the majority. The first half of the story was mostly focused on people who were not blood related and were making their own families, like the Franky family. Like the Strawhats.

Post time-skip and New World, we’ve got a very different story being told. With Kyros and his wife Scarlet, Oda actually gave us the backstory to their romance! Dressrosa was set up a bit for that type of story, but I still find it notable. It wasn’t necessary for character motivations for Kyros. It felt like Oda wrote it because he wanted to.

You’ve got romance playing a big role in Whole Cake Island, even with Chiffon and Bege. This is a married couple with a young son, and not the type of characters we’d see in the early story. Sanji and Pudding were more of a serious type of relationship, even with Sanji “choosing to feel love” for Pudding. Guys, that’s...mature. We’ve seen a lot more blood ties in the New World, even to the point of the Big Mom pirates, dysfunctional as they are.

In the end, you write what you know. When One Piece started, Oda was a single guy, now he’s in his early 40′s with a daughter. The types of stories he’s telling now are based on more mature aspects of his own life.

Does this mean Luffy will most definitely end up with someone? Of course not. There’s a distinct possibility OP will end with Luffy as he is and there be no pairings of any sort.

But to dismiss the possibility of parings based on Luffy’s reaction to women or something Oda said back in some interview, is also too dismissive of a stance to take. Like his Shonen counterparts, romance for Luffy is a possibility. Remember what I said about the genre; romance is sign of growing up and maturing. Luffy is still growing and maturing, so it isn’t out of the cards.

In the end, Only Oda knows. Until One Piece has concluded, we’ll have to wait and see.

Is this isn't even 30% of my life's fucking tragity & I still have the heart to do good for people and love like y'all are bitch made fr

I have been through so much fucking bullshit and deception and straight betrayals are an understatement to everything I have been through. I've lost my best friend. I have walked away from people I loved. I have let a grown man take advantage of everything in me he could and leave me with nothing but hate for myself. My best friend in high school wrote the first statement on me. My fiance in West Virginia has given up on me. I have never met anyone as solid as me. My best friend Kat Lynn fucking dumb fake ass bitch. She's causes a world of problems. Never did I once say a bad thing about her. My parents know I'm dying. They don't give a fuck. My dog is dying. Like lemme make it real fucking clear for you who doesn't seem to know who the fuck I am and wtf I've been through. I got my TBI cause I jumped out of a car cause the mfer told me I wouldn't. Well let me make it more realistic. My first love and I were fighting and his dad made me go home. In the car I wanted to jump out. He said I wouldn't and long story short I opened the door and the brakes through me out the door 55Mph I landed on my skull. I was unconscious for 9 days. I had to learn how to talk again. Like all for that first love of mine to leave as soon as I got out the hospital. All I had to talk to was myself. And that's just the beginning. I was suicidal then I'm suicidal now. I've lost every friend on my way here because they're fake liars back stabbers ect. My only friend Melanie Wade is who I could talk to. I used to watch her son and talk to her for days. She really understand me. She got shot in the head years ago. She was like my second mom. I talked and seen her more than my real mom. I ain't been the same since. My GMA and GPA knew I was gonna be homeless or kicked out of something when I was 16. They didn't let me stay at their house. Neither did my brother. The amount of times I've been beaten and thrown out this fucking house is an ungodly sin. And I don't want your fucking pity. The only reason I get to stay here now is cause I gave my mom a 75 thousand dollar check which I get 100 dollars a week of which she Hates to come up off of. which if I would have kept I bet you money id be dead. Ive moved out on my own with bfs and to drug houses like 5 times. 7th Street. Port republic. 10th St shout out to that nigga that gave me this fucking MRSA Gary lmao (this was the first house I was 16) scottsville. Norfolk. Like my first bf that was a mess. 4 years down the drain. IDK EHAT LOVE IS. 2nd bf my best friend at the time for years the only reason I dated that mfer is cause he would beg me for years so I figured id try. He ended up abusive. He ended up crazy. I ended up running out his house bleeding from stepping on the broken glass omw out walking from 7th to 250 near step-n-out. No phone. I got home cause that mfer came and got me and took me home no let him cause he promised I could go home. He used to refuse to let me leave. Throw me back into the house into the bedroom. Me and his son ooo malakii used to sleep and cuddle and rainy nights were the best with that amazing 5year old boy. Not that I know him anymore but whatever. Then we got that last one lmao wtf happened with that. Like fuck my life he told me I would see that none ofbthose mfers gaf about me and I guess I wanted to prove him wrong about a couple months ago when I lost all hope and I've became manically depressed I got a lisence plate that said, "told ya" like thanks. Soooo let's begiin on me being claimed by the KKK and forever fucking slave to some one or guy idk how it works tbh. Better than being sex trafficed right? I guess so. Like Garrette bar was the funniest and most loyal friend you could ask for and its a damn fucking shame he took his life over that fucking dumb whore cause she's the definition of vindictive and spiteful and evil. Hell yeah I love live blah blah blah loves you dillan I miss you. I should've ditched and went to hburg that nughtbeih you. Instead I've been having my hair pulled and legit hit and smacked around and screamed at by this mistake of a ex boyfriend John micheal which this should have been awarded with best human pickier me. Cause obviously I know how to pick the worse fucking ones cause up until today. I thought he loved me. I thought I could make it work. And tbh it was my last hope. He was my last hope and here we fucking are and fr I took 50 sleeping pills the other night and novlie he walked out on me and was clueless until he was dragging me around me bed by my hair and head calling me a bitch 2 days later for asking him "what he problem was now" in my sleep but he legit says I deserve it. He's called me a bitch twice today and oh yeah he pushed me off my bed into my closet which I like flew but anyway I smacked my head on the closet. And he watched me lay there for about an hour holding my head not saying a word. While he just got rude and acted like a douche. But then he picked me up off the floor and left me on the bed to tell me he was gonna leave me. Then I was ignoring him of course idk what to say cause obviously after forcing my hands off my ears while he screamed hateful shit into my ears 2xs he still grabbed me by my head and hair on my bed after throwing me ect and called me a bitch and told me about how his cousin is gonna come get him. So long story short I'm not trying to fix shit and he's laying on my floor saying he don't want me and blah blah blah long story short I wish I never fucking met the guy he popped my cherry. I hate myself for letting him docthisnto me if I could go back in time and never meet him. I would. I hate him. Up until today I swear I loved this mfer so much. Like I thought it was meant to be. Like omg if you don't want to be here anymore 😭 but I wish I was dead. But yeah but fr the way I let him treat me is disgraceful and I'm having a hard time forgiving myself for allowing it and like I'm not sure if that isn't the only reason I stayed this long like I was trying to vouch for myself for chasing after a man 2xs my age who was clearly just getting more abusive and mean and shamelessly more selfish by the day. Anyway I don't know what you think of me and I don't give a fuck honestly cause your fucking retarded if you don't know who the fuck has put in so much work and gave up so much fucking of my entire fucking life for the credit and adoration I receive. And no I don't ever remember the bad times. I have so many compressed memories. Like dude getting teeth taken out and getting brutally beat up and bitten and raped like and almost trafficed but I escaped. Like but fr I don't have a bone in my fucking body that has I'll intent for anyone. Always look for the helpful way. Always help who needs to be helped. Always there for people. I'm a good fucking person. Probably better than you. And I'm no longer interested in the position I think I had. I give people clothes and feed them and take care of who needs it. I'm a 100% spectacular human being and I'd be a jealous fucking asshole too if I had half the fucking mind to be as cruel hateful mean and selfish as almost everyone else around me seems to have.

I’ll take this as asking for five facts about five characters bc im currently waiting for all/most of the items to unlock on my current zoo tycoon game and idk what to do to kill the time besides this sO:

Character 1: Skift (bc I dont talk about him enough)

1. Skift is a very ambitious person. One of the main reasons he enlists in the army in Majjikku is in hopes of some day becoming a war hero. He’s also easily influenced by other peoples’ approval or disapproval, despite how adamantly he would insist otherwise if you ask him. Hence why he wants the validation of being a household name and a hero in the history books.

2. The other main reason he enlisted in the army is because he absolutely despises his family. I’m still working on the kinks of his backstory but the jist of it is that he comes from an extremely large family with a neglectful mother and an absent father. He and his other siblings around his age were raised by their elder siblings, but Skift had the misfortune of having a personality that completely clashed with theirs and often got in fights with them, that sometimes even turned physical. As soon as he was old enough to enlist in the army, he left home and headed to the nearest enlisting center (which unfortunately was several days away since they lived in the middle of goddamn nowhere, but he makes at least)

3. Skift has no real education, living in the middle of nowhere and not having anyone to teach him skills. When he was younger he got along with his siblings better and was able to learn basic math, and of course he can speak fine, but he probably can’t read very well and anything besides basic addition and subtraction is a mystery to him. Having said that, illiteracy and a general lack of scholarly knowledge, isn’t uncommon on the Parity side, as they have the very minimal requirement of laws and government required to run a government. (Literally you can kidnap someone and as long as you give them adequate shelter, food, and water, and you dont abuse them or anything, the “police” wont do anything about it)

4. Skift gets a strong rush while in the middle of combat. Adrenaline does good things to his psyche and as long as he doesn’t suddenly realize that those were real people dying on the battlefield, he’ll be in a good mood for the rest of the day after a Parity victory. He’s not bloodthirsty, but he does get uncomfortably into it when in the heat of battle, even if he has to watch the person he’s killing die in front of him.

5. Skift in a way is supposed to be a sort of clueless libertarian/anti-ally who isnt a bigot. Like, think a white person who doesnt believe in systemic racism but wouldn’t discriminate against a person of color because the whole reason they dont believe in systemic racism is because its bad for the economy. (Which, it is, they’re right about that lmao). I dont know entirely what I’m planning to do with that concept because I dont know if I, as a very dumb white person, have the ability to play with racism/the concept of colorblindness like that, but I hope I can do SOMETHING with them. Either I’ll need to educate myself or I’ll just change that trait to being dumb about politics in general, I dunno. (Because he doesnt really care about the politics of Parity vs Halcyon, he just agrees with the Parity because thats all hes ever known.)

Bonus fact bc I had too many: Skift is pretty heavily inspired by the design of an old warrior cats OC I had named Falconstar/Falcon. He’s not exactly a dead character (I dont do anything with Warrior Cats anymore but if I did, he’d be on my list of potential characters to reboot, altho i dont know if id have the heart to take him out of the universe/AU he’s from…) but I feel like their personalities are different enough that they wont be mistaken for one another. Also Skift has a stupid scarf.

Character 2: Phillip (or is it Lenny? Idk I think I changed it to Phillip)

1. Phillip is also from Majjikku, I should mention, but he’s a part of the Halcyon side. The first thing I should mention is that he’s a prince, and 3rd in line to the Crayking throne - he has an elder brother who joins the army with him, and an elder sister who stays behind to keep the kingdom safe with their aging parents. I believe they also have a younger sibling or two, but they’re too young to be politically important. Anyways, its worth mentioning that the only reason Phillip was sent over her sister is because he’s an inadept spoiled brat, and the Halcyon side was asking for at least two members of royalty to join their ranks to form an alliance, so Phillip was sent alongside their actually combatually adept elder son. The Halcyon sent Phillip to the “less useful” soldier training camps, while his brother was able to ascend straight up in the ranks of the army. Since arriving in Halcyon territory, Phillip hasn’t seen his brother once. (It’s worth mentioning as a side note, the Craykings only allied themselves with the Halcyon side to protect their own necks. They believe the Halcyons have the upper hand in the war, and want to be on the right side of history when the war concludes. And they dont have the strength to stand up to both sides; the Halcyons have promised to protect their underwater empire from the Parities due to their allyship.

2. As I mentioned, Phillip is an inadept spoiled brat. Years of coddling in his palace have turned him into a demanding asshole who makes jokes at the expense of others and has overly high expectations from others, despite thinking he himself deserves to sit on his ass all day. There’s a deep reason for it, as there is for all my characters, but there are so many layers that caused him to act like this that at this point it’s just become his personality.

3. Having said that, Phillip grew up in an environment where acting nice was more important than being nice. Who cared what you did behind closed doors, so long as you put on a presentable front? He’s extremely charming and sociable in big social events, often making on-point jokes and contributing in a seemingly meaningful way. In fact, he’s arguably even better at it than his two older siblings, since they have opinions of their own and aren’t just a mindless robot for their parents to interject their thoughts and opinions to. Phillip is very good at regurgitating what he’s been told, and has a very flawed and honestly nonexistent sense of self because he has never had the freedom to make his own opinions. Or rather, he was told how to act and feel, and he never had the strength that his siblings had to make his own opinions on what was being taught to him.

4. Phillip wears a fancy bowtie and he refuses to take it off for unexplained reasons. There’s no deep reason to it, I just like bowties.

5. Phillip believes that both of his elder siblings are more adept and intelligent in every aspect. He respects his parents authority over the kingdom and part of why he acts like a jerk is because he legitimately has no idea what he’s doing and would rather die than inherit the throne. He knows nothing about politics, despite his entire life being politics (in more ways than one). The good news is that it seems like if something happened to both his elder siblings and his parents, it would probably go to the next sibling below him, even if they were still under 10 at the time.

Character 3: Glitch

1. Glitch REALLY needs a new name but I’m currently trying to come up with an idea of how Glitch could mean something different in their world (Majjikku, I should clarify), but right now im empty-handed and please help me.

2. Glitch is blind, or at least has significant sight problems. I think. I dont know, I really need to develop Glitch more. Maybe he just needs glasses like I do and without them everything is hella blurry but at least he can get around.

3. Glitch’s species is often used as horses in the Halcyon army due to their obedient nature and high intelligence for a species that generally isnt considered “sentient”/having human intelligence (I know sentient isnt the right word, hence why I clarified). Glitch’s species does have human-like intelligence and capabilities, having the capability for empathy and compassion and self-realization just as much if not more as other Majjikku species, but they generally lack in vocal and academic intelligence. Glitch is unusually vocal for his species, a mutation that comes up in packs of the sauropod-like species every now and then. Because of this and his sight problems, he was put in the same “lesser” squadron as Phillip, instead of the same training the other young from his herd were given.

4. Having said that, “unusually vocal” for his species is still very quiet most of the time. He has a strong understanding of the words of those around him, stronger than most of the rest of his species (although they can comprehend language, just not as quickly) and can articulate full sentences in a reasonable amount of time, he just prefers not to. He also can’t go on half-an-hour-long rants about things because he would run out of words and brainpower very quickly, which god I wish that were me because I will talk until my mouth falls off and its 3 am i s2g im not even exaggerating.

5. Glitch has no understanding of the war but as his herd is encouraged to help the war effort, as opposed to being forcibly taken (which was outlawed and deemed unethical when more and more offspring like Glitch started popping up), he supports his side and would gladly die for it. Also he loves his friends, even Phillip.

Character 4: Aquarius

1. I love Aquarius!!! Somehow she became my favorite Majjikku character and idk why. She’s got cool pants, thats probably part of the reason. Anyways Aquarius is Marble’s best friend in the series; they become fast friends on the train to their squadron when they begin talking about their similar experiences in being dragged away from their families and forcibly enlisted in the army. (Is it horrible to enlist 13 and 14 year old kids in the army by force? It absolutely is, that’s the point; I dont take my characters being young teens like most stories abt young teens do, I’m well aware they’re going to be fucked up as fuck and I’m exploiting that for all its worth.) Aquarius came from a big family of 5 with an absent mother and a nonexistent father, where her elder sister raised herself and then raised her. Unlike Skift, Aquarius became very close with her eldest sister, although they both share a resentment for their parents because of their shit awful parenting. Aquarius was forced to join the army because her three younger siblings were too young for the army, and her eldest sister had to stay behind and work a job and care for the younger kids, something Aquarius knew she wouldn’t be able to do.

2. Unlike all the other characters I’ve mentioned so far, and hell probably all the characters in Majjikku in general lol, Aquarius actually supports the Halcyon for what they stand for. Obviously with her absent mother and father, Aquarius and her siblings needed a lot of financial help. Thankfully that’s what the Halcyon system was built around, and the government was able to get Aquarius’s eldest sister a stable well-paying job and the entire family enough money to get a decent place and pay for food for a while. The government still monitors their family regularly to make sure they arent squandering the money and that everything is going okay, but they did far, far more good than harm. Aquarius believes that this is the best form of government; a form of government that on a very personal level cares for its members and helps them through hardships, and forces them on the right path. In our world, she’d be a socialist through and through, if not a straight-up communist. (Having said that, I do believe Aquarius would have different political opinions if she grew up in our world. The difference between our world governments and the Halcyon government is that the Halcyon government…actually gives a shit about people. Most of the people who work for the government are volunteers, who at best get a small place to stay and some food. Like, the Halcyon actually help 99% of the poor population in the Halcyon city. The amount of financial aid given outside of the city significantly drops, but in their city, being homeless and poor is illegal but instead of throwing you in jail for it they’ll help you get out of it. If you squander it then you’ll end up in jail, but still. Idk what Aquarius would believe in differently if she grew up here, but I dont think she’d be a straight-up communist because we have too many failed communist governments in our history.)

3. Aquarius and her family’s coloring is very odd for her species. The bear-like species that her family is made up of is generally brown, red, yellow, orange, tan, white, gray, black, ect - normal-ish fur colors. Blue, at least to the extent that Aquarius and her family have is nonexistent. It is likely that she and her family have a small percentage of an aquatic species’ DNA, such as a crayking, in them.

4. Aquarius loves being supportive of other people and listening to and relating to their struggles. She’s actually a pretty good motivational speaker and is a pretty great friend. She’s great and I love her. Also the pants.

5. Aquarius clashes a lot with Shade, another character in her squadron. I’m not giving Shade his own section but the reason is that he’s an overly negative character, constantly throwing shade at the Halcyon side and complaining about training. However, once she realizes the reasons for his dissatisfaction with his current situation, she stops calling him out when he says stuff against the Halcyon side. She does start to debate her own opinions a bit after that, and has a lot of long conversations with Marble about it in their shared bedroom. (If anyone’s interested in Shade feel free to send me another star asking about him, or reply to this post or w/e! otherwise ill just keep it a secret lol)

Character 5: Grace

1. Thank god, a character that isn’t Majjikku-related lol. Anyways Grace is the embodiment of a rebellious teenager. She doesn’t listen to any authority, goes out of her way to do bad things, and will purposely disobey what you say even if she doesnt want to do the thing she’d have to do by disobeying you. The whole reason she gets involved in Spirits’ plot is because she knows taking money from a stranger to play with the laws of science and reality would be firmly in her dad’s list of things she can’t do.

2. Speaking of her dad, he’s a little bit of a dick. He’s the reason she’s so disrespectful towards authority. He’s basically just a stereotypical religious nut; anti-gay, anti-transgender, anti-atheist, anti-anyone who isnt christian, anti-drugs, and he even enforces some form of gender roles. And he’s very vocal about these things. He tries to be a huge helicopter parent, but Grace can and will avoid him, ignore his punishments, and stay out so late that her parents cant yell at her for disobeying them. Her father is very vocal about his displeasure and downright hatred of Grace sometimes, and ever since she started questioning his words when she was a young girl, he’d yell at her for it. Her older brother isn’t too great either, but he’s more of an annoying slouch who plays video games all day instead of working than a legitimately bad guy.

3. Grace believes she’s straight because she has no interest in being sexual with a woman, but she’d be totally down with kissing and cuddling and being romantic with a woman, hence why I identify her as a biromantic heterosexual. She’s also the most sexually active of all my characters, which no I will not elaborate on that, not because I dont feel comfortable with it but because I dont know how the fuck that works. (Also side note, I headcanon things in my own stories so I like to headcanon that at some point Grace and Shawn get together and they can be all romantic and mushy n stuff together but Shawn’s totally okay with Grace going out for one night stands with guys so long as she stays safe. Obviously they talk everything out to make sure everyone is safe and okay with the relationship, but Shawn’s pretty okay with it; she’s pretty used to Grace having sex with no romantic attraction involved, and ofc Shawn isn’t into sex so she doesn’t feel like it’s a problem.)

4. Grace is closer with her mother than her father, but although her mother is very much a mediator and acts very kind and forgiving to Grace, Grace still kind of despises her. Just because Grace’s dad is a dick doesn’t mean she isn’t too.

5. Grace’s spirit form is a bloodthirsty wyvern with major anger problems. Each of the kids’ spirit forms have a slight personality outside of the kids themselves, and Grace’s is bloodthirsty and destructive - not intelligently so, but still. Most fo the kids’ spirit forms are pretty mindless and just mindlessly destructive, except two.
