Love and Peace go hand in hand. Thích Nhất Hạnh said, 'When you love someone, the best thing you can offer is your presence. How can you love if you are not there?' Today's show is about that, lots of gorgeous music and the wisdom of Thích. 'To be beautiful means to be yourself. You don’t need to be accepted by others. You need to accept yourself.’ How? 'Many of us have been running all our lives. Practice stopping.’ I struggle mightily with all of this but I do try. Love to all! xoxo 10 am today Nashville time WXNAfm.org 101.5 fm @WXNA @thichnhathanh https://www.instagram.com/p/CopgZkou5kE/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

New Artist Spotlight: Sam Lewis
Sam Lewis will wow you with his uncanny similarity to the Black Keys, combined with added flairs of Southern groove and seventies soul.
A post shared by Sam Lewis (@samlewistunes) on Oct 29, 2017 at 3:10pm PDT
Having been called a “modern Townes van Zandt” by none other than Chris Stapleton, it is no surprise that Lewis has such a poetic and moving sound. Lewis has been finessing this sound and finding meaning in his music since 2009, when he relocated to East Nashville and has since gained quite a local following.
Live on WXNA Nashville right now, tune in to 101.5FM or WXNA.org to hear some new music from yours truly! #wxna

Lewis’ soulful breed of Americana has led to opening spots for Stapleton and Marty Stuart. Along with opening for other artists, Lewis has also released two excellent LPs; but, his upcoming album, Loversity, might just be his breakout moment.
Unlike his previous music, Loversity provokes deeper and darker emotions, while focusing on the uncertainties of the country and world. When talking to Rolling Stone, Lewis explained the possibly-controversial content of his upcoming album, "Being political wasn't the mission, but it's a sense of duty. My angle and my approach is 'Ok, we've all acknowledged this thing, and what can you do about it? What do you think?' I have a microphone and I'm still learning how to use it. And this project is going to push me out there a little further into the uncomfortable zone, and that's fine. We need more conversations. I hope I'm not the only one that's getting some of this out there in a creative and loving way."

Watch the video for “One And The Same,” one of the songs off of Lewis’ upcoming album, Loversity, which will be released March 23rd.

Sleep inside this house of steel
Clapping, fly by, spinning wheel
Said I wear that inside out
Been so long since I've been found.
They got turns to feeling cheer
Cash, no time, I'll never quit
Still we ride this running ship
Run this ship cause we can breathe.
We changed those raising the white god
They braced and then we got through
Shot, showing God on the brinks of divine art
So fun are you
Isolation, isolation
Heal the sickness of isolation
Fight your minds in simulation
Project yourself in isolation
We changed those raising the white god
They braced and then we got through
Shot, showing God on the brinks of divine art
So fun are you
