Amidst all the (rightfully earned) scorn that Calia is continuing to receive (keep it up guys) for basically being an Alliance plant that has nothing to do with the Forsaken, I feel like we're forgetting an important in all this that is being overlooked.
...Neither is Lilian.
Lilian Voss shows up very little in WoW's lore (just like Sylvanas funnily enough) but every time showed up from Cataclysm to Legion, it's very brief and she's always on another Scarlet-esque crusade against Necromancers. She kills her father in the Undead starting zone, then shows up in the Scarlet Monastary dungeons in MoP to replace Velonara (hello downgrade my old friend) and Scholomance to kill another Necromancer.
Then she's in your Garrison hunting Ner'zhul in WoD.
Then she's in the Rogue Order Hall.
Then in BFA she has apparently joined the Forsaken, joined the Horde, and climbed enough of the ranks OF the Forsaken to be trusted with the VAL'KYR. Considering that Voss and the Forsaken Player were raised on the same day, it's weird that Voss outranks the player.
Especially after you do Silverpine and Sylvanas weirdly latches onto the player.
Like Calia, Voss is forced into prominence despite having nothing to do with the Forsaken, but because she's a fan favourite quest mob and isn't so explicitly Alliance coded people were more willing to accept it because "Oh that's Lilian, we know her!" But in truth, Voss leading the Forsaken makes about as much sense as Valeera becoming Regent Lady of Silvermoon, they aren't affiliated with each other in any way.
Valeera's a whole other kettle of fish, I'll tell ya hwat.
Like everyone with sense, Calia being in the Forsaken's leadership is completely out of place, and very clearly the writers inserting their Alliance values into the Forsaken like the assholes they are. But we should be extending that to Voss as well.
Velonara should have been leading the council along with Faranell, Belmont, Aelthalyste, and Signe. Lilian Voss didn't have to be here.
Given how Sylvanas has been written and Voss is artificially inserted into the Forsaken, it feels like Danuser ONLY played through the initial starting zone and that one quest where an idiot meathead accuses Sylvanas of being a second Lich King, and just went from there. Shadowlands has so many instances where Sylvanas mirrors a shot from Wrath of the Lich King it borders on plagiarism. And BFA Calia is Christie Golden's creation.
I mean the fact that the new leader of the Forsaken is literally THE FIRST NAMED CHARACTER a new Forsaken player interacts with is telling.
Also those people wanting the Maldraxxi to become involved with the Forsaken and for them to become an arm of the Primus and for Fleshcrafting to replace their scientific brilliance...
NO! That is immensely worse. That's terrible. Let's NOT tie the Forsaken to the fucking Primus and his "might makes right" politics. Fuck that shit.

I've never seen such nonsense... What kind of help do we need from Calia? What can she give the Forsaken? She's not a leader, she's just a little girl who doesn't know anything. What kind of place are we searching for? We've already had Lordaeron and membership in the Horde. Thanks Sylvanas. The Forsaken didn't have anything after we were free and she gave us everything. Now we have home, support from other Horde's races. What else we need, I'm asking? I hope, after we learn the Light is evil, Turalyon and Calia will go and our true queen will return. Maybe they just really mixed up the Forsaken from WC3: TFT and the Forsaken from WoW? Looks like that. And it's such a "brilliant" idea to return Lordaeron from WC3 culture. Let's forget that we also have night elves, high elves and we must develop our own mix culture, of course.

Lilian could've been like "fuck this, had this happen to me too many times" and left Shandris alone, but no. She actually cares about Shandris and they've only just started working together! She knows something is up and she doesn't want to give up on Shandris and the thing between them!! UGH ♥️
