#like. idk how people don't see it honestly i really don't.
this a sort of complain of capcom and some fans.
i have been *seeing posts of people 'trying' to slander claire and trying to uplift ada. when you see why they try to make those conclusions, it sort of makes sense why. ada is a character in resident evil and the fans solely base her around leon and her bad actions. it makes sense why people try to defend her especially when some (not all) claire fans mention ada's name over and over in attempts to slander her.
the line of defense of ada is, "well, without ada, nothing would've happened. leon wouldn't have survived raccoon city. oh, well, she sold plagas and continued the story in re5. she caused the issues of re6 and fixed them. she helped leon with the information in the end of re6. ada isn't really bad if she..."
blah, blah. all are valid points, but we are missing the biggest detail. why is ada's character written like that? why did ada patch leon up? why did the cold mercenary gain a heart in the original re2? why does she have to be there for leon?
it's fucking capcom.
you guys are allowed to like ada. guys, i like her. i fucking adore ada, but let's be honest. capcom doesn't know what's ada's motives were in the original game. the only reason ada does those things is because capcom doesn't know what to do. why did ada save leon if letting to die would be faster and quicker for her? idk.
or why does ada feel obligated to help leon in the og separate ways? idk.
why is ada a morally gray character? oh, yeah. for capcom it's for keeping leon safe.
why does ada do her actions?
"oh, it's because she is mysterious and we aren't allowed to know."
why not? why aren't we allowed to know if the time skip of re2 and re6 (in real time 14 years), all we know is that her name isn't real.
all of ada's actions are:
when people ask, why don't we have an ada game? bro, do you honestly think capcom knows what to do with her? we barely got the remake and she makes a bit more sense than last time.
like even the original guy of re2 was like, "wow, i really like the kiss. it shows how much of a manipulator ada is!" [X]
and let's not pretend that capcom and some fans treat her as a raging stereotype of asian women.
trying to shit on claire/ada just pisses me off because girl characters have to stick together. capcom sexualises women every single chance it got. they queerbaited chris. capcom has a male dominant fandom base. they do things for the guys. why do you think ada's interaction with leon is all the time flirting? like guys, think it through.
why is it so hard to possibly think ada is a victim of bad writing from capcom? ada deserves fucking better and i'm tired of repeating it over and over. settling shouldn't be an option

▶▶▶ Gem!Shinichi Au
I had this idea in my mind for some time, I really don't like how it came out but at least is out of my brain.
Things to remember
This has Steven Universe logic but not Steven Universe characters
This means:
▸Shinichi was trapped in a mirror.
▸Gem!Shinichi is a Zaphire that has future vision, but their future vision is only related to death, he is useless to gem society (Gems rarely die), and humans think he is cursed.
▸Kaito Stole a Zaphire because the black org wanted it first
▸Kaito learned that there is an Alien race of Gem People thanks to Shinichi
▸Shinichi can't return to their gem form at will, he is the only gem that Kaito Kid hasn't returned yet.
❥ Google translator is our loyal friend
S: …I can help you, you know?
K: I pass
S: You didn't even consider it
K: And how are you supposed to help me? The only thing I need is Pandora's location!
S: Are you sure about that?
S: I can make Kaito Kid and Kuroba Kaito co-exist convincingly!
K: I'm not interested.
It's very suspicious that you want to help.
S: Hey?! Suspicious? What do you think I want to do?
K: I know your type,
Detectives.
They wouldn't help a criminal unless they gained something.
So tell me, detective, what are you hiding from me?
What do you gain by helping me this time?
S: I don't win anything…
Honestly, I'm trying to do you a favor.
…And when I'm direct with my predictions… They never take it well… but I guess it's better to be direct.
S: Your enemies suspect your identity
If they don't see Kuroba Kaito and Kaito Kid at the same time…
They will send you a message with the death of this girl…
Kuroba Kaito is the only one who can avoid this misfortune.
----
In other words, if Kaito isn't near Aoko in the next Heist, she is dead.
If the Heist is cancelled isn't going to change the scenario
But if they confuse the organization by convincing them that Kaito isn't Kid, Aoko is saved, horray!
If you don't know anything about Steven Universe, Gems can transform into anything they wish (The real body is the gem, the rest is like a solid projection with light) So, that's why he can take Kaito Kid and Aoko appearance.
I wanted to change a bit Shinichi Gem uniform, but I don't have anything final, lol
I doodled this Shinichi, I like their smile
idk, I feel like I work better with comedy but I like the dramatic ideas too

Second part of my translation comments (and half meta) for Gray Shelter [Episode 5], you can find the first post here!
"You gave the choice/decision to me, didn't you? (reference to the earlier scene)" "So your decision is to give me some money and tell me to get out of your sight?"
꺼져 is quite a rude word, like 'get the hell away from me', Yoondae is clearly pissed rephrasing/interpreting Soohyuk's intentions, he's using informal tone too
"Because I live like this? Because I idle/fool around here and there without doing anything, not able to get myself together (cannot get a grip on myself and my life)? Because you still see me as a child?!"
"Yes. That's why I'm confused. Because it doesn't matter who is by your side (anyone will do), right?"
"And (what's the problem)? You can be by my side. Why is everything so complicated for you? Just... (in softest pleading voice) ...Watch me. I will live like all the other people. Then it'll all be good (it's solved), no? You can watch over me while being by my side. Mmhm? Don't care about the situation, once again I'm telling you, just look only right at me."
I actually really like the usage of 'focus on me' in all the sentences because the translator keeps the leitmotif and it works in all contexts, the entire conversation was translated nicely. Even "- What's the most difficult thing about me and this situation for you? - That I'm your home (the place you return to now)."
I just gave you more literal translation... idk, for fun xD Maybe you'll catch more nuances that I tried to put in here. It's just devastating. Soohyuk sees and feels that Yoondae is clinging to him like to a lifeline, and he doesn't want to be one, he's got enough of people burdening him, his life is hard enough.
He tried to think simply like Yoondae and just live in the moment, give in to his impulses as well, but he just can't. He's sinking on his own and he can't chain himself to another person because even if he's a safe place for Yoondae, he won't be able to save him in this situation, it means they'll both drown. Yoondae has to find his own ground to stand on, he has to get a grip and find a new home on his own so he won't circle his entire life and attention on Soohyuk. Only then it'll work.
"If I find another home, can I call you? You won't avoid me then?"
They don't kiss here – they can't. It won't work. But such short distance is a promise, it's a possible future happy ending hanging between them both like a life vest and a heavy rock.
I'm not sure he means it as 'we get together again'. More like
"If we meet again, will we become okay?"
Like, they agreed it won't work out now, they need some time, and Yoondae now will be holding onto that hope that Soohyuk might accept him and his feelings once Yoondae finds his own home, his own meaning in life. But he's still afraid it won't happen, that's why he needs to hear some affirmation. Will things between them become alright (and the fact that he doesn't really say 'better' or 'good', he uses 괜찮다 - fine, alright, okay and asks if they will be able to even reach that). Which means they both know their relationship is less than 'okay' now.
And in a very Gray Shelter melancholic satisfying-unsatisfying way, Soohyuk only replies: "It'd at least be better than now."
That's the only thing Yoondae is left with. This, and a daring request to pretend he didn't steal that goodbye kiss.
And we're getting a time skip which starts on a sound of a ringing telephone. ("If I find another home, can I call you? ) And surprisingly, it doesn't seem that Yoondae is the one calling this time, as he wanted to. It seems like Yoondae accepted the call but he wasn't holding it or answering, yet Soohyuk called him and invited him for a dinner and is waiting for the answer. Now, the decision is up to Yoondae.
There is a calendar on the wall but I honestly didn't track if there were any other calendars in the show so we can tell how long was the time skip.
"Alright. I'll be waiting."
To be honest, in the ending I wished they showed at least one scene of Yoongdae coming home in a work-like uniform or doing something to indicate he started sorting his life out before that call came through. Because even though the ending is hopeful – they lived separately for some time, Yoondae has his own place, Soohyuk is reaching out to spend time with him now and they both agreed their next meeting will be more hopeful – but will it be enough? Was the problem actually solved?
We all should think that yes, but I wish the ending supported it a little bit more confidently. After such a rollercoaster of emotions and complicated situation, I want to see them heading towards the truly happy ending Т_т (give me the second season!)
In any case, the acting is great and the melancholic atmosphere for a BL was so unusual, I loved the edgy dialogues and emotionally raw writing. For such a short story, Gray Shelter certainly will go under many people's radar but it still touched my soul.
And, well, now I understand the title. Soohyuk is a shelter, he shouldn't be a home. Shelter is a place they seek temporarily comfort in when they have nowhere else to go. And it's not a bright happy couple place, and it's not an abusive family house either, gray is neither black nor white. It's something in between, and it's up to Soohyuk and Yoondae to try and build an actual equal bond, have a place to return to and person to eat dinner with.

Hi hello I might be a bit feverish still so this might come off as some nonsense rambling but!!
LITERALLY YOU'RE SO CORRECT!!
Like, Bob and Moloch don't have HALF of the complexity that Dexter has (this doesn't mean i don't like them, i actually love them), Moloch is just "Evil-because-demon", and Bob is just "Evil-because-yes", since as far as we know, he doesn't have any backstory to tell us why he is the way he is. He's just an evil cannibal serial killer for the sake of being evil and eating people.
With Dexter, the situation's way more complex, because he really isn't evil. He's morally grey at best, made some questionable choices to keep his "urges" under control, but not evil at all. It took him ONE YEAR of psychological torture to snap and decide to kill the kids, and even then, he fought it as much as he could.
I really like how Pelo wrote Dexter, honestly. It's really rare to see ASPD (antisocial personality disorder), which i'm like 90% sure Dexter was canonically confirmed to suffer from, represented in a way that isn't just "Ohoh look at this EVIL MONSTER with NO EMPATHY who doesn't CARE FOR HUMAN LIFE and so he's gonna KILL EVERYONE OHOH". And it bothers me a bit how much the fandom leans into characterizing Dexter exactly like this. Like, his issues are barely acknowledged as a whole, and if they are, they are represented poorly. Idk maybe it's just cause Spooky Month usually leans into horror tropes and stereotypes, so the fandom chalks Dexter up to the (still ableist btw) "Mentally Ill Serial Killer" trope, but the fact is that Dexter in canon is NOT LIKE THIS, and they always make him so WIDELY out of character... It's like the fandom saw his mental illness, saw the fact that Dexter's personality is still at times very harsh, brutally honest, and sassy and sarcastic (mostly in the doodles Pelo does), and decided "okay yeah we can't baby-fy him, turn him up to the other extreme"---> and made him this heartless insane guy
Anyway. Big fan of how Pelo gave us a character that actually struggles with his mental illness and also makes bad choices and isn't a perfect human being but also not an irredeemable evil monster that just wants to murder people for fun.

sorry but min heejin is a legitimate pedophile who has stated brooke shields as her inspo and has pics of children in the nude on her walls. i hate jaden as much as the next guy but he is not as genuinely awful and disgusting as min heejin is. and i dont want people minimizing how dangerous she really is, esp w the weird undertones of sexualization she inserts into nwjns lore… so many people turn a blind eye 😞
IDK whether it's fair to say that she's a legit pedophile but its not like its relevant tbh. I think she sees the profitability of pedophilic marketing and will endanger children for her aesthetic vision which includes sexualising children. IDK if its her sexual preferences or just her tastes (is lana del rey a pedophile for aestheticizing lolita, i don't think so) but honestly? Has jaden not done the same thing? Love cherry motion and uncover were overtly about losing your virginity and choerry was 16. Hyeju's egoist dance was massively age inappropriate. Yeojin's song about consent is just very creepy esp with the foot stuff even if there's nothing overtly sexual like LCM or Egoist. Favorite was a disgusting nightmare of fetishizing schoolgirls. Jaden is definitely not innocent in this regard.
I 100% agree with you about not understating the importance of how dangerous she and her age inappropriate treatment of underage girls is for the record. Honestly I don't really agree with comparing the two - they both suck bad, end of story.

the thing about generally-accepted broad fanon batfam dynamics is that even if you disregard the complete stripping of all nuance in order to make a perfectly nuclear family with no lasting or significant conflict etc etc, half of it is all just built on vaguely (or explicitly) racist stereotypes anyway, like .......... ah yes the little half arab boy is a violent feral gremlin who can't fit in with refined polite society. the half east asian girl is the golden child who never speaks and is good at everything and has no flaws because she's the favorite who holds the family together. the romani one is a slut. LIKE. okay...!

I think it's interesting that when Gandalf describes Denethor's ability to "perceive, if he bends his will thither, much of what is passing in the minds of men," he ties it less to his wisdom or general insightfulness (though he possesses both) than to his difference from "other men of this time," his near total Númenóreanness, and as bolded here, the active exercise of his will.
Tolkien also attributes Denethor's resilience against Sauron (by contrast with Saruman) to not only his right to use the Anor-stone, but "great strength of will." He notes that Sauron had no servant with greater mental powers than Saruman or Denethor, and Gandalf remarks that Denethor was "too great" to be subdued to Sauron's will.
Denethor and Gandalf have a strange and unsettling silent confrontation, carried on by their gazes, yet it strikes Pippin as like "a line of smouldering fire" and "as if reading each other's mind." Gandalf afterwards says Pippin was stuck between two "terrible old men," lumping Denethor in with himself. Pippin also sees some kind of kinship between Denethor and Gandalf, as Sam saw between Faramir and Gandalf.
In his letters, Tolkien said that the ancient Númenóreans became barely distinguishable from Elves in appearance and in their powers of mind. In Unfinished Tales, he notes that they loved their horses, and when a Númenórean had a strong bond with a horse, it was said that the horse could be summoned "by thought alone."
In LOTR, Faramir—who has inherited Denethor's Númenóreanness/wizardliness—has a reputation for command over both animals and men. When everyone else is thrown by their horses upon being chased by five Nazgûl, he not only keeps his seat, but mysteriously gets his horse to ride back towards the Nazgûl. And during the retreat across the Pelennor, the soldiers in the city conclude that Faramir must be with the men who are managing to retreat in order, repeating Beregond's remark that he has some undefined command over both men and beasts.
Gandalf suggests that this is a result of Faramir pitting himself against the effects of the Nazgûl in some way, but his abilities (whatever they are) are outmatched. In the event, the effect of Faramir's Aura of Courage commanding abilities remains until he's shot and finally falls to the Black Breath.
Faramir also makes repeated references to perceiving or reading things in Gollum's mind. At one point, he describes Gollum's mind as dark and closed, yet unable to prevent Faramir from detecting that he's holding something back about Cirith Ungol specifically. Noticeably, this only happens when Faramir orders Gollum to look at him (which Gollum does "unwillingly"), and the light drains from his eyes as he meets Faramir's. It seems decidedly reminiscent of the later Gandalf vs Denethor duel-by-eye-contact.
Faramir's exact words about Gollum's secrecy are "That much I perceived clearly in his mind," in reference to his earlier questioning of him. He says that he can "read" previous murders in Gollum and Gollum cries out in pain when he tries to lie to him.
When Faramir gives staves to Frodo and Sam, he says that a "virtue" of finding and returning has been placed on them, with zero explanation of what he means by that. He adds a hope that the virtue will not altogether fail under Sauron's power in Mordor. He describes the people who did the woodwork but not who placed the virtues (it doesn't seem inherent to the wood itself, given his phrasing).
We do know that Dúnedain can potentially embed enchantments into items. The Barrow-daggers carried by Merry and Pippin are specifically enchanted against the Witch-king of Angmar by an unknown Dúnadan of the North, and when Merry stabs the Witch-king, the dagger breaks enough spells for Éowyn's ordinary sword to finish the job.
Meanwhile, Aragorn uses his healing powers to help the city, wishing for the presence of Elrond, because he is their eldest of their kind and more powerful. Aragorn, also, has at least some part of this ability to actively exercise his will and mental powers, perhaps an equal share, though he uses it less often.
In the book, he doesn't physically attack the Mouth of Sauron, but instead holds his gaze (again, eye contact is important!). There's another silent struggle that involves no weaponry or any other contact.
He prevails in some way over the Mouth of Sauron (not a warped creature of Sauron in the book, but a cruel Númenórean who has "learned great sorcery"). The Mouth indignantly says he has diplomatic immunity and can't be attacked like this.
But, I mean, maybe they're all just smart and perceptive, it's really unclear.

// blog update— like i said some time ago i will be clearing my mutuals list a bit through the week. more importantly, i am adding a rule concerning interactions.
i have to stress out that this is by no means petty drama or "she said he said so i have beef with them", this is not any petty thing such as stealing icons or headcanons or whatever. it's about genuinely concerning predatory grooming behavior that under other circumstances like irl situations it is serious enough to be likely considered criminal by some. it's something i'm begging all of you to take seriously, i have NEVER before in any rp blog in my years on the platform felt such a strong need to make a DNI and try to cut off someone completely from my curated space.
If you choose to write with Grim/Barghest/whatever other name he chooses to go by, I would prefer to break mutuals. He has shown repeated toxic behavior towards many people, including manipulating and gaslighting, and predatory behavior towards someone that started at the time this person was a minor, including inappropriate messages, to say this lightly. There are screenshots that I can share if so requested, screenshots that have been posted by both the affected person previously and then by Grim himself trying to recontextualize them to both victim blame and make himself the victim.
You are free to interact with Grim as you wish, and this is in no way an ultimatum, I just cannot in any way see this individual on my dash since it frankly does make me physically ill knowing what he has done, and I want to curate my space for my own wellbeing. I'm sorry if this upsets anyone, but I genuinely cannot in good conscience pretend I did not see what happened and act as if everything is fine, and I don't want to simply water down something this inexcusable.
My DMs are open if anyone wants to ask anything concerning this post, and if you feel you need to block me and leave, I understand.

I either need to accept that I am just a way stronger person than this friend and can handle way more while still being able to engage with the world as a person, or recognize excuses as excuses, accept that I am not valued and be done or. Maybe both. Idk. It might be somewhere between the two. I am just sick of regular life stuff rendering him unable to spend any time with me, and of him being unable to bear any of the details of my life, when I would move mountains to rekindle our friendship. Though I'm starting to wonder if I still would.
