Shihou and Mihou are laying in the grass and looking at the sky. They are holding hands (and tails). Shihou hasn't received the name Sun Wukong yet. None of them are immortal.

The stars look pretty.

They do.

...What's going on?

Shihou giggles.

What do you mean?

You're acting weird. You're never this quiet.

Oh, so I can't lay down to rest with my best pal every once in a while?

Mihou punches his softly. Shihou cackles and Mihou shushes him

Shut- up! You'll attract a predator with your loudness.

Okay, okay– don't hit me. ...I totally could fight a predator, though.

Mihou scoffs. Sure you could.

Are you doubting me? I am the great Monkey King, no predator can beat me!

Mihou chuckles. An idiot is what you are.

They stay like that for a while. Shihou is smiling and staring at Mihou.

What are you looking at?

Shihou snorts. Oh, nothing. You're just very beautiful, bud.

Mihou blushes and sits up, turning his body to face Shihou. He looks angry. You did not just ‘bud’ me.

Oh, c'mon, when did you start disliking that nickname?

...Never. It's just not appropriate for this moment.

Oh, this moment? And what's that supposed to mean, hmm?

You're infuriating.

But you love me.

Maybe a little.

Maybe a lot.

Mihou laughs. You just– bud. You can't call me bud when you're saying stuff like that.

Well, then how do I say it without sounding corny?

What do you mean?

Shihou touches Mihou's cheek with his hand.

Well. I mean that I think you're beautiful.

Shihou grins mischievously.

Bud.

Mihou jumps on top of Shihou and they start play fighting. After a while, Mihou lays his head on Shihou's chest and breathes.

Hey.

Shihou is asleep. Mihou listens to his heartbeat and smiles, closing his eyes.

Saw someone trying to pick apart the reason why Felix doesn't have a mask as the Peacock holder or anything covering his eyes and they said that it's because everyone knows his identity/he has nothing to hide but...no. Maybe I'm just blindly throwing darts at a board here but I don't quite think it's having nothing to hide in the way the user intended- this is what Felix was made to be. This is what he is at his core and this is what he has accepted himself as. It could be playing into the perception of the peacock as being a monster and Felix thinking of himself as one or perhaps it's a nod to him finally making a move that directly acts in his truest form as Adrien's protector.

i think it's a good interpretation but i wonder how it works in regards to mayura instead ?it makes sense for felix to not have a mask as argos isn't meant to be a side of himself he wants to hide - if anything it's sort of his final step to embracing what he is but you can't make that type of claim about nathalie. and really i don't think there's any type of deep meaning to it either, or at least not one that goes into the characters' personalities

#the emotion script called argos a ''male version of mayura'' and in the storyboard he wore the same eye veil thingy as her in a few frames #so like . to me it doesn't strike as a felix-exclusive trait and instead just something picked up from her

Vanellope VS. Turbo: A Mini Analysis!

There are a million reasons why Turbo’s reveal in Disney’s Wreck-it Ralph is such an iconic and memorable scene. A scene that I and many others have replayed ever since 2012 and its impact has never left our minds. It solidified King Candy/Turbo as one of Disney's top villains ever created, surprising and shocking viewers with a plot twist that Disney hasn’t been able to overthrow with their other movies before they abandoned villains until King Magnifico but he sucks so. He WISHES he was as charismatic as King Candy plz-

But this analysis isn’t just about King Candy/Turbo, it’s also about Vanellope Von Schweetz. She’s the most important ingredient to making this scene work and play out the way it does and ultimately why it’s so fucking cathartic. ( More so than Ralph’s fight against Cy-Bug Turbo in my opinion) After watching how it was originally story boarded, the crew behind WiR perfected this scene with a specific detail that they changed. In the early storyboard, Vanellope causes King Candy’s vehicle to crash, causing him to glitch and transform into Turbo in front of the cameras. While I love love love the extended race between Vanellope and King Candy and sort of wished it could have been longer in the actual film, I am content that they didn’t go with the direction. In the movie, King Candy is revealed after trying to beat/kill Vanellope with his horn rod/pole thingy from his kart, she grabs it and glitches due to stress/adrenaline/her emotions, her blue glitch traveling through the cane and making contact with King Candy, finally putting down the facade he had on for 15 years and revealing him as Turbo to the characters in the film and the audience. It’s such a small detail, it only happens in a second, but it’s all it took for the start of his downfall and his eventual demise.

And this is why it brings me catharsis every time I watch this scene. I could never put it into words before, but it’s beyond satisfying that the end of King Candy’s horrible reign starts with Vanellope and her glitch. The very same glitch that he caused trying to delete her code and remove her place from the game. The glitch that he used as an excuse to turn everyone in Sugar Rush against her. He usurped her throne and tried to ruin her life. Despite this, he still had the audacity to shout “Get off of MY track!” earlier. It brings his Roadblasters incident back up, it was his choice, trying to steal the thunder of another racing game that just got plugged in because he couldn’t stand the idea of anyone taking his place, only for Turbo Time and Roadblasters to be unplugged. All of this circling back and biting him in the ass. Vanellope was the key all along and he knew it, he feared her despite never really having a conversation with her as far as we know (Vanellope asking Turbo “What the-?! Who are you!?” leads me to believe that if they did converse in the past, it was not in his true form and he was most likely already King Candy. Plus it just goes to show how fast he hijacked Sugar Rush), but you can just tell by how desperate he was to keep her from racing, he didn’t want anyone to take his place ever again.

So the scene continues and his famous line and breakdown goes as this: “I’m Turbo! The greatest racer ever! And I did not reprogram this world to let YOU and that halitosis riddled warthog TAKE IT AWAY FROM ME!” It’s just so ironic, unfair and hypocritical of him it makes my blood boil! And the way he’s raising his voice, jabbing his finger at her and Vanellope’s trying to shrink away from him as he yells at her face before he tries to murder her I just- So cruel, scary, wicked and disturbing! But Vanellope, this brave WARRIOR, is reminded of her glitch after Turbo calls her for what he believes is the last time. “End of the line, Glitch!” She takes a moment, everything slows down around her as she tries to control her glitch to escape Turbo. She glitches away, missing the wall and It ends up saving her life! I just cannot stress enough how beautiful that is! She used her disability, that everyone thought would simply doom her and the game, and embraced it when she needed it most. Her glitch, while it was suddenly given to her by circumstances she couldn’t control or prevent, she took control back. It’s her beautiful superpower and it’s empowering. After this scene, it’s the “end” of Turbo before he gets nom’d by a Cy-Bug. ( I want to note that he later says “I’m the most powerful VIRUS in the arcade”, part of me wants to believe he said that because clearly Vanellope bested him as the greatest racer ever but I doubt that was their intention lol)

They’re the embodiment of Selfishness vs. Selflessness. While Vanellope had everything taken away from her, she didn’t follow the same path as him. Turbo had everything taken from him, but it was his fault and he only ever thought about himself, never about the destruction he left behind. Hell, all she ever wanted was to be one of the racers, no matter how much they bullied her and ostracized her, she never ended up being evil like him even though it would be a perfect recipe to become a villain, this is also what makes her a mirror to Ralph. (Remember in that one deleted scene where she said she wanted to break the racers’ legs but come on can you blame her!?!?! She was so real for saying that.) VANELLOPE IS MY FAVORITE CHARACTER EVER AAAA.

Before I ramble any further, I will forever love the choices that the writers made for the climax and it just ends up being an absolutely perfect and brilliant scene and I will continue to rewatch for the millionth time.

Idk if you can officially call ot a storyboard but that's what it was supposed to be, even if it was just a three-panel thingie. Anyway, Poppysong slowly realizing that she feels like she's losing everyone in her life, and deep down she wonders if it's really her. Her littermate was definitely a wake-up call; she just wants the old him back. At least Maplewing can offer somewhat of fresh-air for her.

Was rewatching OW Dragons cinematic

And I can't help but to always try to decipher what the f is under Genji's mask...

Cranking up the brightness always destroys details, but anyway. Bro looks like he doesn't have eyebrows/eyelashes anymore 💔 and although I think it's cool plot-wise, my simp side wish he'd still have his pretty slutty eyelashes here.

Also I'm so desperate to know his inner mask(?) design. Those thingies around his nose, I can't decipher what they look like... is that attached to an air filter something something? A helper for breathing? I wonder how far it goes, how much of his lower face is left intact... Hope to live to see its design one day.

And then I was hunting down blizzcon contents because I read genji's OW2 skin design originated from a storyboard for Zero Hour where he only had a hoodie on and I WANT to see him with only a hoodie on. Would kill to have a skin of him with a hoodie and no pants, ass all out.

So anyway, happen to notice this... gengu's seat is empty of any belongings 💔💔💔 does he really not have anything worth displaying... baby did you really lost/threw away everything???? 💔💔 I am mentally unwell.

Back to Dragons. I noticed how easy it was for Hanzo to throw Genji around like that, and my initial thought was "is Hanzo just THAT strong to manhandle a cyborg?" But then I realize, Genji might not be mostly metal... maybe Genji's mostly made out of lightweight materials. He's designed to be agile, I'd imagine having light materials would be one of the important aspects... His armor does look more like carbon fiber and plastic imo 🤔🤔 Things to think about.

Last but not least, I can't keep defending you bby if you keep displaying that ass and crotch in 4k...

His ass is flat ngl. Just that the lighting makes it looks like it's bubbly. But no worries, I can resort to fanon.

Yet Another Life Update! 🌱

Hi guys!! It’s been a little minute since I made a life update— got a bunch of stuff goin on as usual lol I haven’t been super active but I wanted to pop in and let ya know that I’m still here and I have PLANS

Update 1! Remember that Pixar Story course thingy I mentioned a few months ago? Well— I was one of the winners!! I still can’t believe I was picked out of so many other incredible stories 🥲 I’ll probably upload the story reel here but I’m kinda hesitant bc my voice over/narration is bad lmao but we’ll see! Might upload it with subtitles..

Update 2! I know I've said it like-- 47 times already BUT I’m going to start uploading way more original boards this year!! I will absolutely still be drawing and posting my highly self indulgent encanto fanart BUT I also wanna make room for more original work too 🌱

Update 3! Going along with update 2, I’m almost done with this big personal storyboard I’m working on!! I want to be done with it by mid March at the latest. I also wanna make a tutorial-ish post on my storyboarding process and how I do it at some point. I’ve never created a tutorial before so we’ll see how that goes 😬

Update 4! I’m currently taking an online feature storyboarding course until April and I’m learning SO MUCH. Hopefully by April I’ll be ready to throw myself back into working— but until then, my training arc resumes 🤌🏼

Update 5! I think I wanna make a separate blog to archive all of my encanto fanart for easier access 🤔 Thinking of calling it “sketchncanto" lol

Update on my new object show!! BLISS!!

BLISS: Beware *whats* Lurking Inside *this* Sweet Sanctum (Object show name :3c)

Tw: mentions of mental abuse, full caps, curse words, eyestrain

So basically, the story is about a host (Semi colon) who has tried to get contestants to join her show, but NOBODY cared! So she slowly lost her sanity (haha reminds me of someone.. uhm.. not me..) and thought, “Hey?! What if I just.. MANIPULATE THEM into joining my show by saying ‘Oh look! Cool thingy that cares for objects health blah blah, then BAM! OBJECT SHOW!!” Because in Semi colon’s world, nobody talks about their health, so if there was some sort of free therapy for the inhabitants, they won’t say no! (I know, it’s stupid-)

This is generally a sort of dark humor show (if it wasn’t obvious), about (idk yet) number of “patients” will fall for the trick, thinking they were going for some sort of offline group therapy sessions, to be met with a lame object show that slowly makes them turn on EACHOTHER!! (Yayy another unoriginal show!!! *sobbing*)

And of course, Semi colon.. is going to make sure, they play in her show this time! Not make everyone forfeit before the show starts!!

(Visual reference is going to be hidden for now, I just need to see if anyone is actually interested in this shit lmao!!)

Of course, “we” (as in me for now) will make a separate blog that me, and said team that want to help with this, we will post our beautiful comic type object show, on tumblr!! With extra details like polls and asks!!

I have very big plans, if we all have what we need, this will work out!!

(Keep in mind, I’d like at least two or three artists that are willing to answer the asks! They could go with the flow in the answering section, from scribbles to very detailed and colorful art, this is basically fun for the viewers so they don’t feel useless! The asks will be either about a question for a certain character, or just a curious/normal question!)

What’s the prize? Freedom!! Imagine being forced into an object show, on a very small and limited island, every day losing a part of your sanity with OTHER contestants that are ALREADY are losing their sanity!!! THIS IS GOING TO BE CRAZY FUN!! (crazy? I was crazy once—)

Anyway, that’s about it for the show atm, I still don’t know how many contestants, or who is willing to help me with what exactly or be my co-host incase anything happens to me.

Do you have any insight or tips on your comic-creating process?

my best tip is genuinely just try even if you dont know how, cuz (i say this a lot) but i have no real idea what im doing and ive just been trying different things for a while to have fun

as for my process, it has changed a bit since i started posting, something that made it easier early on was just saving an image of thumbnails and roughly drawing inside of them to get the vibes out

basically pretending i know how layouts work just to storyboard it out (like i never have a script i just vibe) then i can move them around if i wanna add another panel for humour sake or something with ease (like i added leo standing up w mikey on his back here just cuz i thought it would be a funny pause, and then i did end up duplicating the last panel cuz it was funnier as two)

and for the process of me trying to make a whole comic page thingy, well originally it was the same thing, just way longer

like i did this months ago to vibe out the story and get the vague visuals out and left it alone. at some point after getting csp (cuz all these were done in sai) i was like OH HEY csp can do comics ? with ease? maybe that would be a better way to do this because it is so long, lets just try it out! so i used this as like a guide for the story. it was helpful cuz i already knew the basic ideas of shots i wanted.

idk again i dont really know what im doing but theres so many people in this fandom that are so inspiring so i was taking a couple of lessons from them every time i changed my approach, but the basic tip is like scribble it out first and see if you think its worth continuing! put as much or little effort as you care to do, just as long as you have fun

Can I ask you what program do you use for the animatic? And can you recommend any good program for practice? (I never used any of these programs, and they look pretty hard, so I don't want to pay yet for one, but I want to make something :c)

Hello! This might be a bit long but I hope I can help you with this (I'm holding your hand because this is also my first time doing an animatic so I have no idea on what kind of good pipeline there is to follow...) I apologize in advance if this won't be the most helpful answer :,))

okay so for the software. I use the ipad for most of my work nowadays... unfortunately, both apps that I use are paid—RoughAnimator and Procreate. I'll walk you down with how I do it. It is not the most efficient way but here's how it goes for me... :,))

Storyboard

I think the most important thing for planning something like this is having a clear vision of what you want to see. I started this animatic by brainstorming in my storyboards what I want to see in timing with the song and its lyrics. Here's an example of what I previously shared... [disclaimer: I did not follow the template so yeah, feel free to ignore the kanji characters]

you can see the outline I roughly made to tell myself what scene I want to show to what lyrics (I got lazy to write the whole lyrics down lol) and also added some notes like the movement of the character and camera pans etc.

here are the corresponding drawings to it (sorry if the quality is bad, I just screenshotted this from my gallery ><;;)

Drawing the Cuts

All of the drawings are done on Procreate. I use this software for most of my drawings now, mostly because I like the texture of the brushes there. At this point, I am not worrying about timing these drawings to the music yet but I am reassured since I already made my guide of that in the storyboards. Procreate also has an animation feature that helped me draw the breathing sequence.

Compiling and Timing the Drawings

Once I've saved my drawings to my photos, I move them to RoughAnimator. Here is where I time the drawings with the song. What I like about RoughAnimator is that it has its own drawing tools (I don't really like the brushes tho... hence, me using Procreate instead), it has a camera tool that allows me to pan across my drawings and also shows the sound wave thingy of the song that helps me with timing. It also allows me to easily adjust the exposure or how long a drawing flashes on the screen at my chosen framerate.

I would sometimes be unsatisfied with my initial drawings, leading to me going back and forth between Procreate and RoughAnimator to revise stuff. (which in my opinion is not efficient but I can't really think of any other way to do this...)

So yes. That's pretty much how I'm working with it so far. I am currently stuck because both Procreate and RoughAnimator have very limited features when it comes to panning images... I'm still figuring out how to do that but I'm thinking of moving to video editors for these kinds of stuff instead of relying on RoughAnimator...

I hope you aren't discouraged by this,, I know it isn't the best solution... If you are to follow this kind of workflow, I think a good combination of any drawing software (hopefully with an animation feature) and a reliable video editor to time it to the music (I recommend finding ones with camera pan and motion tween features) is sufficient enough for this.

If you're using an ipad like me, iArtbook is a good free alternative to Procreate with a good animation feature. I have yet to check it out properly but Filmora or Capcut might be a good video editor... If you're using a desktop, I think Krita is good for drawing and animating!

I'm so sorry again if this wasn't really helpful. I will definitely share it if I were to find a better workflow for this. If you'd like to have some storyboard templates, here are some I found on the internet!

Yes I give him a golden fish collar decoration thingy and a green colored jungle leaf theme collar and fire shape mark bracelet after rusty/Fireheart/Firestar abandoned it to became a clan cat and the leaf is a symbol rusty left his kittypet life to be a clan cat.
