very specific fear that didn't crop up often, but always disturbed me as a kid: someone being in a dangerous or traumatising situation, seen through this kind of innocent lens of naivete represented by a more childish artstyle than usual

I love that The Ghost and Molly McGee's forced cancellation isn't just frustrating to fans of the show but to people in the animation industry as well. They're just as sick as we are about how much studios disrespect animation. They keep looking for the next Spongebob, Simspons, or goodness forbid Family Guy, but instead having faith in the creators and their content, they just...wait. They wait to make a profit and do the bare minimum to market their shows and make them available.
Let's look at Gravity Falls for example. I remember that when Gravity Falls was still airing, you would be able to find out a new episode was coming out based on coming across a commercial by random chance or by the people working the show promoting it online. Add that with the fact that it was on a different channel that required you paying MORE for your cable to get it. It WAS available through Disney Channel, a channel more available at a cheaper price, but the entire of Season Two got moved to the more expensive Disney XD, where Disney shows go to die, because...REASONS. With no warning or announcement. I think I found out about Gravity Falls moving to Disney XD because the trailer played during a commercial break. And that's just the START the show's problems. Mixed in with poor marketing, the show would have a crazy inconsistent schedule, where we'd have four episodes a week, a few months of NOTHING, a few more episodes a week, nothing for a few months, a random episode playing between that nothingness with next to no promotion, and all of that happening to the rest of the show until it finally died a slow death with its series finale where four episodes got stretched out for six months. That...is NOT okay. And it doesn't stop with Gravity Falls.
Steven Universe, OK KO, Ducktales 2017, Amphibia, The Owl House, and now Ghost and Molly McGee are all shows that had similar and sometimes WORSE treatments as Gravity Falls did, where the networks gave next to NO marketing, the creators had to promote their own shows themselves, and the airing schedules were so inconsistent with wildly long hiatuses that only the most dedicated fans were willing to keep watching. General audiences (mainly kids) weren't willing to keep up with shows that had ongoing stories if the episodes stories kept being too spaced apart and never had reruns as frequent as other shows like Teen Titans Go or Big City Greens (Or whatever's constantly on network TV nowadays. I don't know. I mostly watch shit on streaming).
The people of the animation industry is catching onto all of these tricks, and they're getting sick of it. They're getting sick of inconsistent schedules. They're getting sick of trying to bend over backwards in every possible way to make the show they wanted. By either making serialized content as episodic as possible so the network could air it more or by condensing their stories as much as they can, already expecting that forced cancellation to happen sooner than later. And in some cases, they don't even get the luxury of being told their show is ending. Did you know that Inside Job and Paranormal Park both had seasons that were already in development before Netflix pulled the plug shortly after releasing new episodes of their shows? Did you know that The Ghost and Molly McGee was already working on a Season Three before Disney shut that down so they had to force out a series finale that would still be good despite the cancellation? Because it's true. It's ALWAYS true. Creators want to make MORE, but the studios won't let them because they didn't profit off of it. Except they WOULD HAVE if they treated it better.
I want kids to grow up with characters that stick around through their childhood, just like I did with mine. I want kids to have their own Ed, Edd n Eddy, Codename: Kids Next Door, Phineas and Ferb, or Kim Possible. I want kids to watch shows that last more than two-three seasons, stick around for years, and leave an impact as if they have all the time in the world because to them, it feels like they do. I want kids to have a show that ends on a high note because the creators wanted it and not because the networks demanded it. But the unfortunate thing is that it doesn't seem possible nowadays. Because if a mostly episodic show like The Ghost and Molly McGee fails, despite being charming and inoffensive and something most kids will love, the what hope IS left.

Most of my highschool experiences were not fun and we very unhinged but I have a fun story that happened in my school even though I was not actively participating in it.
We didn’t have detention like in American schools but if you chatted in class and the teacher asked you to leave, you’d get a suspension. Basically, the slightest disruption would get you suspended. And in a suspended day you still had to go to school and study quietly in an empty room or in the library, and that was how I ended up in another classroom alone with a few other kids that weren’t from the same year as me. We got to talk when no one was watching us and shared why we got suspended in the first place.
If you were born in the late 90s/early 00s you might remember a cartoon called ed, edd n eddy that had a character that carried around a piece of wood called plank.
Tumblr media
A table from their classrooms broke off, and a kid drew plank’s face on it, and everyone started acting like it had sentience. As they would, they elected it a class representative. And they were having so much fun with it that they decided to break off some more desks to make more planks… until staff noticed that there were just too many broken desks. They started to crack down on the students, trying to figure out why they were doing that, so the students decided to dump all the planks into the toilets (which they were of course ridiculously too big for), flushed, and everything got clogged.
The administration found out who it was and they got suspended. This is the type of stuff that could only work on the mind of bored 15 year old kids, but still… the more they tried to punish kids in my school, the weirder things would get. No one learned their lesson because everyone thought it was too funny, as teenagers would. Oh, to be 15 and so ridiculously bored…
Anyway, I was on my last year of school, and after I left the stories there just got progressively worse (and not funny at all) as the administration tried to get stricter. I don’t miss it at all, but I hope the kids are okay.

Talking about "Ed, Edd n Eddy" outside of Tumblr with (probably) heterosexual cisgender neurotypical men is just... frustrating. I feel like I'm talking to a door. The guy got mad just for stating the simple fact that what the Kankers do to the Eds is sexual harassment. I mean, how can anyone deny that? I thought it was, like, obvious to everyone lol. I made it very clear that it's my favorite cartoon and that admitting that what the Kankers do is sexual harassment doesn't mean it's bad or that it should've been canceled, and the guy just said he wouldn't read my text. It's ridiculous.
People outside of Tumblr are so lazy and this scares and saddens me because I love writing and I can hardly summarize my thoughts. I mean, it's okay if you don't want to read it, but then at least keep quiet and don't give your opinion on something you don't know about or assume what the other person said. People simply leave discussions with a simple "I won't read it" and feel victorious for it, even if the person in question is agreeing with them, agreeing more than disagreeing, or only partially disagreeing. They treat "writing too much" as having already lost the argument itself and that doesn't make any sense. The worst part for me is that being lazy to read and having the inability to formulate a counterargument has already been widely normalized on the internet as winning an argument, and it totally pisses me off.
Why are people so lazy to... think, discuss and reflect? To use their fucking brains!? They just want to attack people for no reason and be right at all costs! They act stupid and others agree with them! Ugh, I should just stay on Tumblr. I've already accepted that this is the only nice and safe (or at least the nicest and safest) place for neurodivergent / autistic people.
Anyway, about what happened:
It was in this Instagram post:

Comments started here:

I replied emir.d95 with this text:
I mean, it is sexual harassment. Admitting this isn't the same as saying that the cartoon is bad or that it should've been canceled (far from it, it's literally my favorite cartoon of all time), it's just stating a fact. It's like denying that Ed has an intellectual disability and is bullied because of it, or that Kevin is a bully (at least in the initial seasons), these are things that aren't explicitly said in the show, but are obvious and don't make it bad (furthermore, it was the 90s/2000s, it was a cartoon within what was considered normal for the time). Problematic things and complications happen, they are part of life, showing them in a cartoon isn't the same as agreeing with them. It was very clear that the Kankers were a bother to everyone and nobody liked them. Danny Antonucci said the Kankers were based on a group of girls he knew during his 7th grade school year. In his words "they're based on a pair of Grade 7 girls who true to form were always on the lookout for potential boyfriends. They frightened us with their intensity and attitude yet they always wanted to play the innocent with the older guys whom they wanted to date". They were based on real girls who were actually scary, cynical and a nuisance to Danny and others. The Kankers are supposed to be creepy, problematic, a pain in the ass, and disgusting. One of the biggest features of this show is the gross things, disgusting the viewers, and the Kankers and them abusing the Eds and sometimes others is one of those gross things. And before anyone says something like "It's just a cartoon, it's not that deep bro", we're talking about "Ed, Edd n Eddy", a show that literally addresses domestic violence, shows the main character's redemption arc and how his brother's abuse influenced him to act the way he did, and consequently teaches about friendship, forgiveness and acceptance. It's not just a silly cartoon, it also touches on serious subjects when necessary, sometimes in a more shallow, light and humorous way, or in a more explicit and profound way, like in the movie. The Kankers are abusers, just like Eddy's brother, and his punishment in the end is precisely being abused by them. Like it or not, "Ed, Edd n Eddy" teaches us, even if unconsciously and subtly, that girls can also be abusers and boys can be victims of sexual abuse. It's a great show for a laugh, but also for learning some valuable lessons every now and then. The movie was supposed to have even more serious and touching scenes, but unfortunately they didn't fit into the available time and budget.
Then I got these:
Tumblr media
So, yeah... The lesson is: Don't expect a healthy in-depth dialogue about "Ed, Edd n Eddy" with people outside of Tumblr xD

you really have to appreciate how scoob and shag manages to be so funny and simultaneously terrifying
Tumblr media Tumblr media
like on the one hand. there is something inherently funny about Eddy from Ed Edd n' Eddy intimidating a kid in an amogus costume by reminding him that the cops are in his boss' pocket
on the other hand, this is genuinely intimidating because said boss is a homicidal Micky Mouse with the power to insta-kill people with a thought and knows everything that's going to happen thanks to time travel, and Eddy here is also casually revealed to have gruesomely murdered two children a few panels later
so much contrast, and yet it fits perfectly

Here’s the Cartoon Network schedule for Monday, November 1 to Sunday, November 7, 2010.
First off, let's talk how many shows there are on the schedule. 34 SHOWS are on the schedule. in 2023, CN only airs about 13 shows a week (not including ACME Night or Cartoonito, but definitely better than how it was back in 2021). But let's take into account that the schedule is broken down into 4 sections at this time:
Section 1: Weekday Morning Anime
This was where the anime (Bakugan, Beyblade, Pokemon) aired, might also include some action cartoons (Ben 10, Hero: 108, Hot Wheels) aired.
Section 2: Old Cartoons during Mid-morning/Early Afternoon
You'll probably remember in your youth, when you were "sick", These shows aired during that time, semi-recent cartoons that ended aired at the time (Lazlo, KND, Gym Partner, Chowder), some imports (JT, Garfield), and Tom and Jerry.
Section 3: After School Cartoons
I would consider 2pm the start of the After-School hours, although some schools don't let kids out until 3pm. Some imports (JT, League of Super Evil), some older, but beloved, toons (Billy & Mandy, Ed, Edd n Eddy, Courage), and the 6pm hour was a rotating slot (This month had live action shows at the 6pm slot) that would be followed by some primetime shows, or Garfield.
Section 4: Primetime
This was the gem for CN at the time. Mondays had the newest hits, notably Adventure Time and Regular Show, other new toons like MAD and the underrated short-lived Robotomy, Canadian toons like Johnny Test and Total Drama World Tour, and reruns of Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated.
Tuesdays and Wednesdays were the days that they aired Live Action shows, Tuesday was the more serious side (Tower Prep, made by Batman writer Paul Dini), while Wednesday had the more wacky side (as in it felt like TruTV's live action of the time) of Live Action Shows (Destroy Build Destroy, Dude, What Would Happen?, and Hole in the Wall, the one that had the families, not the FOX version). Listen, I know Live Action didn't belong on CN, but I was 5, so I remember them fondly.
Thursday was a repeat day for Monday, as they previously had a new Thursday night block before Mondays were the night. but Friday is where all the new Action shows aired. Shows like Generator Rex, Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, Star Wars: the Clone Wars, and Sym-Bionic Titan all aired on this night.
If you missed anything on Friday (besides Batman, but who didn't watch Brave and the Bold on Fridays), they all aired on Saturday Morning, in between anime like Pokemon, Beyblade, and Bakugan. Saturday also had a couple Pokemon episodes that led to a Pokemon Movie.
Speaking of Movies, Cartoon Network had them, Saturdays at 8pm is when the Flicks aired. This week, Flubber reran. (the movie with Robin Williams playing a Scientist who creates some Flying Rubber), that would later air next day at 7pm.
Also, yes, this was when back when CN had the 9pm hour. CN had that hour up until the next month. I really miss primetime CN, and how it was scheduled like this.
Here’s what was new that week:
League of Super Evil - Monday at 2:30p
Johnny Test - Monday at 7:30p
Adventure Time - Monday at 8p
Regular Show - Monday at 8:15p
MAD - Monday at 8:30p
Robotomy - Monday at 8:45p
Total Drama World Tour - Monday at 9p
Tower Prep - Tuesday at 8p
Hole in the Wall - Wednesday at 7:30p
Dude, What Would Happen? - Wednesday at 8p
Destroy Build Destroy - Wednesday at 8:30p
Batman: The Brave and the Bold - Friday at 7p
Ben 10: Ultimate Alien - Friday at 7:30p
Sym-Bionic Titan - Friday at 8p
Generator Rex - Friday at 8:30p
Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Friday at 9p
The Super Hero Squad Show - Saturday at 6:30a
Beyblade: Metal Fusion - Saturday at 7:30a
Pokemon DP: Sinnoh League Victors - Saturday at 8a
Bakugan Battle Brawlers: Gundalian Invaders - Saturday at 10a
Run it Back (a show recapping a week in the NBA, not a really notable CN show) - Sunday at 8a

THIS IS ROLF FOR ME. I WILL PROCEED TO SAY WHY NOW
I feel like Rolf has shown to be somewhat emotionally repressed, like for example..
Tumblr media
When Jimmy tries to hug and get comfort from Rolf, Rolf seems really uncomfortable. He clearly doesn’t like it. This could be because he’s embarrassed or cause he really doesn’t know how to help Jimmy because he doesn’t like sharing much strong emotions. Or it could be both.
He continues to only seem upset when Jimmy shows strong emotions like comfort or sadness. He clearly doesn’t know how to handle it.
I feel like the comfort part can be the fact that he clearly was raised to be tougher than most kids. He literally takes care of his family farm mostly by himself. He doesn’t really know how to comfort cause most of the time he’s doing everything by himself, which means he probably deals with his emotions alone too.
Now let’s talk about No Speak Da Ed..
When I first seen this episode, I felt terrible for Rolf.
Tumblr media
From him breaking the music box to when he LITERALLY TRAPS ED EDD N EDDY IN HIS SHED AS HE FORCES ED TO TALK.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You can clearly tell he is extremely affected by what had happened.
Tumblr media
That whole episode was just so surprising to see, it made me have a completely different view on Rolf.
Rolf doesn’t show any sign of this before this episode, it was most likely healed trauma but then he got reminded of it on that episode. This shows that you can heal and feel better after trauma. I’m happy to see that his trauma doesn’t stop him from being happier when the show was taking place. He knows he’s safe, with his friends, away from the Wolf man.
Something else I noticed while making this post is that you can hear him say something that sounds like “Not again!!” or that could’ve just been something else in his language.
Tumblr media
Welp, that was long but he’s my favorite so of course I’ll have a lot to say about him. 💙
Feel free to reblog to add onto this post with your headcannons!

i have been watching this show religiously to the point where i cannot think outside of ed edd n eddy so i wrote this in theme
aka hi my names joey, im 18 & i use any pronouns but anyways so i did a therapeutic excersize/self insert/character study/thinly veiled string of conciousness dump/fanfic excerpt/writing piece using double d from ed edd n eddy as bait [but most of it i feel is him] i don't rly know how to use tumblr that well but i like to write and i gotta get better cuz im applying to uni so hopefully someone enjoys my brain alphabet soup
Tumblr media
[before reading please be advised that i discuss some sensitive content, self injury & prescription medication in minor detail as well as more expansive topics like child neglect and anxiety! it's technically therapeutically driven, so if you happen to be uncomfortable with the afformentioned topics its probably not the best read for you. use caution]
i now present to you a joey joint,
joint i. alphabet soup a la ed
- beginning
edd’s earliest memories consist of him thrashing violently until he woke up shaking, huddling silently in a warm pool of sweat. his jaw would be clenched, his fragile baby teeth grinding mechanically against themselves, before he scurried into the king-sized bed his mother and father shared. his mother would murmur a soft ‘shh,’ until he fell asleep.
when double dee would wake up in the morning, he was alone in the previously occupied bed. the unoccupied space seemed to swallow him whole. the vastness and potential of such an empty space would unnerve him, and he would slowly tread back to his own bed upon the absence of his mother and father.
he also remembers noticing a label peeling on a dvd display tower at the blockbuster in his first neighborhood, and he remembers how thick, hot tears stung his face. and as he bit his lip until it bleed, attempting to force the rouge corner of the plastic label back to its assigned place, he remembers his mother tugging firmly on his wrist and leading him to the car. double dee remembers the label, and how the label would never be put back in place. he remembers how he shook and choked on stifled sobs in the back of the sedan as his mother drove home, only to squeeze his hand and rush off to work. he remembers the feeling of uncertainty upon the realization that label, which he had willed with every cell in his body to fuse properly back to the dvd tower, would now remain in a state of perpetual purgatory in his neurotic conscious.
double dee remembers when three days later, his mother returned home after a long day of work and in-and-out run to blockbuster and brought with her a documentary on polar bears. he had been crawling with excitement, polar bears being a specific interest at the time, and double dee remembers curling up with his father and mother on the rather uncomfortable leather sofa in the mechanical glory of his middle-class living room. he remembers how he hadn't even cared that the sofa was uncomfortable and much too firm, or that his mother had gotten garlic parmesan pretzel crisps when he had reminded her more times than he deemed worth counting that he only liked the spicy buffalo and original.
the television murmured on low about the specific travel patterns of polar bears, and the grainy blue light of the documentary had flickered against his face for nearly 40 minutes. for 40 minutes, double dee’s brain had been able to focus on the deteriorating climate’s affect on the polar bear’s migration and environmental habits. his mother had smoothed his hair with her cold, slender fingers, once in awhile twisting gently on a dark curl. she had regarded him with a twinkling smile, glasses perched squarely on her beautiful hooked nose, and he could feel his father tug him closer. 40 minutes of his life that had belonged solely to the three of them, before an emergency meeting regarding the pharmaceutical board had demolished it. the polar bears, needless to say, were inevitably paused.
double dee still remembers the feeling of his realization that he will never know what had become of the polar bears in the documentary, and he remembers the arresting feeling that engulfed him like an ice cube being dropped down his back.
he had walked by himself to the blockbuster three days later to return the suspended polar bear documentary.
they moved to peach creek less than three weeks later, where edd was to begin school. school had then, in its true fashion of providing education and possibility, become double dee’s absolute favourite thing. the passion for learning had become apparent after only weeks of his first year in elementary school, and so had his strange anxieties about labels, organization, contamination, and the idea that certain questions simply did not have direct or proven answers.
after a particularly low moment when double dee was halfway through the year of 4th grade, his anxiety had caused him to forget how to breathe. with his shyness and fear of burdening others with his ailments leading to him fainting from lack of oxygen due to hyperventilation, he was taken to see a shrink.
and ever since his first meeting with a shrink at the impressionable and mildly concerning age of nine, double dee had seen doctors, psychiatrists, recreational club directors, youth rabbis, life coaches, tutors, and nearly every professional that could be remotely helpful in a case of mild child neglect thinly veiled as ‘stress.’ and every single time, they had all said the same thing as a way of labeling this unfortunate circumstance. double dee was obsessive-compulsive, anxious, showing slight evidence of child neglect and home life instability, and was chronically awarded with the dreaded vague observation that he seemed to be “self-destructive, self-sustaining, and self-critical.”
“eddward seems to be experiencing textbook symptoms of obsessive compulsive disorder,” each ludicrously expensive professional would repeat, offering a sympathetic glance and knitted eyebrows in the direction of his mother while they stirred a chilled latte in their other hand. “these symptoms seem to become exacerbated by instability in everyday life, lack of availability from and/or existence of a support system, and loss of control.”
so what could be done?
“it's encouraged that quality time with a support system and self-esteem building activities be introduced,” they would say. “however, based on my professional observation, i can stress that availability, active interest, and consistent presence in eddward’s day-to-day life would likely be quite healing for his array of anxieties.”
his mother would clutch his hand, gently squeezing his palm and observing his raw nails as she explained the situation to whatever professional was on the receiving end.
‘it is only possible for us to offer eddward the help he deserves if we have a suitable source of income to provide it,’ his mother would say, ‘jobs in medicine are demanding and although we would much rather spend all our days doting on our son, eddward’s father and i manage a network of medical centers that are counting on us. eddward himself is counting on us to have a home to return to and financial security in relation to his health.’
double dee would nod at the professional, resting his head against his mothers side in solidarity of her statement, and would often be sent away with a hastily scribbled note on a yellow prescription pad that would be exchanged for a tiny orange tube of capsules that had been deemed ‘genetically effective’ for his hypersensitive brain.
he would walk in tandem with the click of his mother’s heels to the lot of the building, awaiting patiently for whatever prestigious new suv his mother had sacrificed her time off for sneaking into view. after his mother would tip the valet worker, and once double dee was strapped comfortably to the expensive leather, he would let the impending doom of awaiting 9 more mind-numbing months of some type of oxone or iazine or some other pharmaceutical sink in. he accepted with shrinking resistance as the cycle would drag him through his first, second, fifth, or seventh inevitable episode of being cannibalized by his own thoughts, his life itself a question with no answer.
and he knows, he knows that his parents care for him deeply and he is very privileged to have access to professional help. he understands that as far as teenagers who experience traumatic, stressful, or generally highly-emotional events go, he is extremely gifted and generally stable. he understands that his anxiety isn't all bad, and he recognizes that he gets emotional at times, and he does let these more emotional moments drive his anger more often than not, but in all honesty… while ‘child neglect’ may be a harsh word for the relationship between his parents and himself, double dee did feel worse after staying home alone for 3 days at a time and going for 9 months without a family dinner or conversation that was not recorded on a post-it note.
what double dee was certain people failed to understand about him, or even inquire about for that matter, was the fact that double dee wasn't bothered by the simple misalignment of an object or the visual discomfort said object may cause. it wasn't the anxiety of being ignorant or an isolated variable outside of a hypothetical range of decent capacity, either. no, double dee was actually fearful of the fact that by all laws of physics, for as long as he remained aware of such things that had gone unchanged since his last encounter with them, he would live in a suffocating loss of meaning. be that a torn plastic label on a blockbuster dvd tower that was his self-imposed duty to fix or a one-of-a-kind moment where his parents had been undoubtedly present and had opened the opportunity to fully connect, double dee would remain unresolved and neglected from the collective consciousness of a potential memory. the peeling sticker was misaligned, yes, but in reality… in reality, double dee was thinking about the fact that the sticker’s purpose was to fulfill its duty as a label for the selection of dvds, and by extension, it was his purpose in the moment to assist the label in its battle with clinging to the tower. it was never about the label. it was never about that. it was about the principle that living with the knowledge that he had neglected to correct the little fluke of the peeling label had robbed him of a memory. a memory, to his own horror, that he had cursed himself with by failing to fulfill his purpose. he was so sure that if he had just put the slightest bit more effort into salvaging that label, that he would have fulfilled a purpose. he wouldn't feel so isolated, so empty, so numb, if he could only fulfill a purpose.
it was what had double dee tearing his hair out in fistfuls, only to shield it with his beanie, and bashing his head into cabinets of his empty house located around the cul-de-sac of peach creek. his raw nailbeds and black and yellow bruises at various stages of healing had turned his body into a shrine of his own inadequacy. the stress of the deafening, profound emptiness held enough reign over his nervous system that it had rearranged the chemical functioning of his brain.
in fact, if double dee were not so gloriously exhausted by the result of the operation, he might have been impressed with such biochemistry of doom.
instead, the cunning mockery of it had just turned him grumpy.

i hope that was decent

This post is long overdue, but I’m taking a break from Ed Edd n Eddy.
Lately working on the comics and stuff has felt more like a chore than fun, it felt like I was forcing myself to finish pages when I didn’t really want to and that’s not what the mindset I want to be in. So, for the foreseeable future, the comics and fic are on pause.
I haven’t given up on them, I will never truly give up on them. I just need to step away from the show and visit other fandoms for the time being. It’s how my mind works, unfortunately, my fandoms runs around in circles in my head but eventually, they will come back, I just don’t know when.
I’m still here, I’ll still reblog the fanart I happen to see of others and respond to people and what not, but my creative juices for this fandom have been wrung dry.
Thanks for understanding <3

Savannah vs. Nazz: Sibling Rivalry
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I decided to make this special confession, I did some research on how Nazz is different from Savannah.
These girls happen to be identical, but in a different way. Nazz and Savannah both have different clothing, and also have different interests. They can also have different crowds which makes them stand out more.
I have a list of confessions on why Savannah and Nazz are both different. What's obviously different about Savannah than Nazz is of course she wears her giraffe hat (because she doesn't want everyone to know that she's identical), and also has pink lips and cheeks. Nazz and Savannah probably used different makeup. Their interests of clothes are different too.
They both are different ever since the divorce. Nazz gets to be with her mother, and Savannah goes with her father. Let's talk about Nazz first and why she's part of the kids of the cul-de-sac more than Savannah:
Nazz:
Tumblr media
Nazz has been the hottest one and had gotten the boys attention. Nazz might've been closer in a relationship with Kevin. She's very flirty and hot, so it depends which boy she'll hang out with.
Tumblr media
However with Eddy, Nazz might've had less contact or something with him. But Nazz isn't afraid to mock or hurt the Eds even more. All she does was become a jerk whenever Karen/Kevin's around.
We can also explain the friendship of Karen and Nazz in An, Edd n Eddy.
Nazz likes to comfort Karen and help her out. And when they tried to hurt Ed after his monster costume was taken off, Nazz actually told Karen to be nice when scolding or hurting Ed in a kind of way, so it wasn't that bad in season 1 of An, Edd n Eddy. Nazz at least had some comfortable common sense.
Let's talk about Sarah's friendship with Nazz.
Tumblr media
Nazz and Sarah had a close comfortable friendship with Nazz, while Jimmy was the best, Nazz had a nice potential. In the series bible Sarah loves Nazz and wants to be her when she grows up. This is acceptable when Karen and Nazz are looking for recruits to join in the bullying of the Eds. Sarah was much spoiled by her parents, so it's obvious she would hang with the bad crowd.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In Season 1 of An, Edd n Eddy, Sarah and Jimmy's friendship is much more comfortable and sweet. That's because when Sally was older than Darla in Season 1, Sally was much more friendlier, and is also nicer to Ed. She even warned the Eds about Darla.
So it's much that the kids of the cul-de-sac were probably stuck under Sally's rule because she wants The Eds to not be outcasted and treated more nicely. At least spoiling your favorites while neglecting others can take a toll on what a kid wants to do. Sally did more good than harm compared to Sarah. That's how much Nazz was a jerk when she hangs out with Karen or Kevin. Jimmy would also hang with Sarah, Nazz, and Karen because he's more girly and would hang out with girls.
Rachel would've been a jerk too if she wasn't dead, she also wouldn't live to mock Eddy during picture day (Spoilers for The Ultimate Revenge of Edzilla). In fact, Rachel did hangout with Karen and Nazz before her passing which was a shame.
Tumblr media
Rolf would've been counted, but unfortunately he doesn't count in my An, Edd n Eddy AU. He was Eddy's friendlier next door neighbor, and he hangs with Chelsea more than Karen and Nazz. That's because Chelsea and Rolf have come from different countries. Their friendship will also turn into a relationship as you can from a picture of a comic I hadn't finished yet.. Rolf's relationship/friendship with Chelsea will turn him away from the kids of the cul-de-sac schemes against the Eds which makes Rolf more friendlier. Rolf did suffer from Sarah because of little contact and abuse, so that's that too.
Tumblr media
So yeah. Nazz would be like a cul-de-sac girl with an "evil twin" because let's talk about Savannah next:
Tumblr media
Savannah was probably much of an outcast too ever since the dad. After her dad died from a car accident, she had to live with Eddy because probably dad and mom wouldn't want to speak to each other or let their twins contact with one another.
Savannah is 2 years younger than Nazz which can explain the age gap between a preteen girl and a high school teenager.
Savannah, like I said before wears a hat. She also wears a yellow shirt with orange daisy overalls as I would like the girls to have a trio clothing pattern, Skirt, Pants, and Overalls. This also goes for head patterns Edna and/or An can have a bow or no bow, Nat wears a headband, and Savannah must wear a hat. Savannah should also be yellow and orange because Nat wears white, Edna wears a darker color, and An wears all kinds of pink all over. That's how I created Savannah’s looks.
Savannah is also much more supportive of the Eds because not only The Eds are more supportive of her thanks to a worm in her brain, bit her friendship with Chelsea makes helping the Eds more better than before. Despite her worries for Edna seeing her hair confusing her for Nazz, she was more likely to gain trust to the girls and boys supporting The Eds.
While I do ship Eddy and Nazz, it's more likely that Savannah will take Nazz's spot to being Eddy's girlfriend.
Why? I wanted Eddy to have a blonde girlfriend (but not much for May), previously Edd would have Bonnie Bo Peep or Bella. That would have Edd and Eddy have blonde girlfriends, but that all backfired thanks to Nat. I also thought about the main characters of Totally Spies which was why I made the Eds keep a ginger, black, and blonde haored girlfriends in An, Edd n Eddy.
The Eds were outcasted from the kids because of how their parents treated them. While Eddy understands the treatment of his parents, Ed and Edd doesn't know that they're neglected or abused. So the friendship is better with the trio only supporting one another. Like Warren the Eagle from "Don't Hug Me I'm Scared" said, "Good Friendship is not about being Mr. Popular and having many friends".
So that's probably why Nat (by Rockinoutlive), Edna (by CharickCS), Kylie Webster and Katie Webster (by the creator of the same name Kylie Rosetto), An, Bonnie Bo Peep, Sally, Chelsea, Kyle McCloskey, Chloe, and Savannah were all created as the Eds' supporting kids. They would help stop the Eds from scamming, and share their experiences. Kylie, Katie, Edna, Nat, Chelsea, and Bonnie Bo Peep do have parents that gave a damn about their kids. If these girls existed in Ed, Edd n Eddy, that would give a chance for these Eds to finally gain confidence and learn what their parents did to them.
So that's why Savannah and Nazz are both different from one another. It's not like a hero and evil twin relationship, but it helps you get the idea of my character and it's similarities.
Credit to @book-o-scams for relationship confessions.

Have you seen the peach creek episode 1 on YouTube? What are your thoughts about it? I love it, no matter how cringe
I already replied to someone about it on my Deviantart. I said:
"Oh yes. I was made aware of this series a few years ago. I should be nice, animation is tedious work and this concerns a fellow fan, but I should also have an honest look. People have been cruel to me and it really helped. Kidding, it did not.
To see the art style of the actual cartoon show pop up at the end was great, and I think that's what this whole series should've looked like. It makes me happy when artists learn the art style of the entertainment they're fan of and draw it well, since it doesn't happen that often.
The episode itself feels needlessly slow. Nothing of interest was being conveyed/there was no story, and there were no real jokes. It's a short episode, which is good, but that makes it all the more important that stuff happens in it. That it's an introduction to things to come shouldn't matter -in fact, you have more to prove. Assuming this is the first episode.
Peach Creek should refrain from becoming an episodic series where only a sliver of a sliver of the overarching story is told every time. That'll just make it a drag to sit through, especially when most scenes are semi-still images with relaxing guitar music over it. More than 3 minutes had passed before an actual conversation started. That's too long.
I already guessed the creator had a particular vision for this fanseries, which is more or less what I just criticized; he wants this to be serious. Having that said, my criticism isn't and shouldn't be important for him to consider. We have a different vision.
This is not for me. Ed, Edd n Eddy is a slapstick comedy with some of the wittiest dialogue any cartoon show in the past has produced. I don't and won't shy away from drama -Ed, Edd n Eddy Highschool has its share- but I can't let that drama happen without some laughs."

How did Dobson expect to be a showrunner right off the bat? Why would anyone hire him for that? Did he honestly believe his own work like AZP would be good enough to land him a deal with anyone? Especially if he didn't even TRY to get a job at any studio?? Why did he expect things that he wanted to happen to all do so just for him?
Because he was that utterly delusional about his own skills.
I don't know what to say here, as Dobson has over time barely openly talked with someone/ranted on deviantart about his lack of actual work in the field of animation, his expectations or hopes. I know he tried to get some job storyboarding for Ed, EdD 'n Eddy and he tried to apply for a position at a reboot of the animated show ReBoot (wow, that was redundant to type) , but both fell through and he didn't bother elaborating on it.
I am also not really a psychologist, so I can't make a in depth analysis of Dobson's mental state or how genuinely entitled he was. My personal theory is, that Dobson thought of himself always as an underdog (after all, he was bullied at school, but being able to draw comics had somehow gained him some admiration and popularity as a "quirky" kid) and that because the underdog at the end always gets his/her slice of the cake, he too should be rewarded with good things.
The fact that in a good underdog story, the underdog has to actually work for his or her success however, is something Dobson seems to have willfully ignored.

I dreamed about a lost pilot episode of EEnE
I've had dreams that created episodes of Ed, Edd n Eddy before, but this time I remember this one more accurately, and I wanted to share it because I thought it was kind of funny and interesting. Keep in mind that there will be inconsistencies because my dreams tend to be quite weird and nonsensical.
I dreamed that there was a lost pilot episode that was somewhat heavier, as if EEnE was initially intended to be a cartoon for teenagers/adults. The characters used bad words and there were some explicit sexual things. It should definitely be for people at least 14 or 16 years old (from my research, the equivalent in the US rating system would be rated R).
The episode started with Double D and Eddy arriving at Kevin's party in a very fancy and large place, I believe it was a sports club, and they entered a party room which was the entrance. For some reason the theme of the party was penises and dildos (???), it was probably some kind of joke. From what I understand, Eddy was aware of this, but Double D wasn't, which made him go into a state of shock and feel very embarrassed when he arrived at the party and came across the phallic decorations, and Eddy was enjoying it and loving seeing him all embarrassed.
Later, Double D and Eddy enter an indoor pool inside the club. They seemed to be somewhat intimate and shy, as if they were now at a point in their relationship where their feelings for each other were becoming more evident, but they still hid it from each other, so they felt awkward interacting together. During their conversations, they gave awkward smiles, blushed and looked at each other in silence with embarrassment, and Eddy was the most nervous. He becomes so nervous that at one point, he begins to have hallucinations of his family sitting in the bleacher looking at them (I believe that pool was used for swimming competitions, that's why there was a bleacher), and they were shouting and mocking and laughing at Eddy for being a coward, and they even said things like "Aren't you going to tell her?", "How much longer will it take to ask her to be your girlfriend?" (they were referring to Double D as if he was a girl, I believe it was intentional to mock him). I'm not sure if they were making fun of Eddy for being gay or if it was because he didn't have the courage to tell Double D about his feelings for him, maybe it was both. Double D notices that Eddy is feeling nervous, hyperventilating, and asks worriedly what happened. After this part I don't remember exactly, but I believe there was some fight between Double D and Eddy because later they separate and go to different parts of the party, and Double D is sad because of Eddy. There's a moment when Kevin's with Double D, sees that he's feeling bad because of Eddy and says to him "This guy has already screwed me, he has already screwed you. It's time for us to get together to screw him".
I don't know what happens after that, but at the end of the episode they leave the party and we see the kids saying "Happy Friends Day", so apparently it was an episode/party to celebrate that.
After watching this pilot, I discovered that a season 5 episode was based on it. Inside the dream I hadn't watched all the episodes yet, so that's why I didn't know about the existence of this episode.
I don't know if Ed wasn't in this episode or if I just don't remember the moments with him.

Vision of a soft modernized slightly aged-up continuity reboot for Ed Edd n Eddy
Few details before I try making the script samples and other rough ideas for some minor concepts.I'm mainly compiling several thoughts and jokes into something more definitive and cohesive. To start off there would be a new character serving as something of audience surrogate,we shall call her Evelyn Kanker but we won't know her relation to the sisters until the end of the episode.Compared to the rest of the cast Evelyn is slightly older, specifically around seventeen so she's a newly graduated high school student who came to Peach Creek to interview the community and put some rumors either to the test or rest.
The "modern" part comes into play was Evelyn is going to conduct interviews with her smartphone with the kids.Edd is the native she comes into contact with and along with the other two Eds will try to serve as tour guides for her stay in the area.
Evelyn:I'm going to have an extended stay in this area due to some rumors that have made me curious.First of all I think I need permission from your parents if I want to do this properly since it looks like all of you are minors...Where are your parents?
Edd:I'm afraid almost everyone's parents are at work and won't be back home until way later.
Evelyn:(No way that's concerning...)Ah well,I guess I can deal with that later.Just as long as you give me consent before I start up the camera should this be fine.
Edd:Why certainly.
Evelyn:First of all, tell me your name.
Edd:It's Eddward but on account two other boys who live here have that name and mine happens to be a variant with two Ds all the others tend to call me "Double D" to easier differentiate the three of us.But while it might sound like that they are technically saying "E-D-D".
Evelyn:...Are you aware of the breast size context that nickname comes with...?
Edd:The what now?
Evelyn:Well,at least you still have your innocence.Anyway,I'll pay you a quarte--
Edd:SHHH!That phrase is taboo around here.
Evelyn:Really?Why?
Edd:Remember those two other boys I mentioned? They're my best friends and--
Eddy:DID SOMEONE SAY QUARTER?!Sure took you long enough to discover the other meaning of your nickname,Sockhead.Anyway, who is this chick?
Edd:Eddy, this is Evelyn. She's here to interview us and...What exactly are you planning to do with your footage?
Evelyn:Peach Creek has been the talk of some wild rumors on the internet--
Eddy:Internet, you say?Girl, are you an angel from heaven who is going to lead me towards a path of stardom?
Evelyn:Probably not,I'm lucky if my stuff even reaches the thousand view milestone.
Eddy:Maybe making me the star of your interview will change all that, the camera does tend to adore!Let's go get Ed.
Evelyn initially finds Ed's living conditions to be a little weird but quickly comes to accept it because she also has a minor affinity to things like monster movies and comics(But later on we learn she's more of the Japanese culture favorer). She also decides it's better to keep it a secret from Eddy how much some of Ed's collection might also be worth if put on the market. We get a mention to the original series by saying how they tried being tour guides before but it ended with "casualties".
Sarah and/or Jimmy become the next interviewees.Followed by Nazz which has Evelyn mistake her name as "Inez" at first.Kevin is encountered next which despite his tendency to call the Eds "dorks" she believes he sees them as good friends. She attempts to interview Rolf about his animals but he does not consent to being viewed through the "demonic crystal".Finally reaching Jonny which gets implications she also might be able to "hear" Plank.
At the end of the day Evelyn basically learns from the adventure all the rumors were true and the very boys who guided her across town instigated them all.She says she had a good time but has to go to where she'll be lodging to unpack and start editing her footage for the tell-all video. But before she steps foot in her car she notices a quarter on the ground, one problem though...It's Canadian.
Eddy:*snatches it*
I want to be sure you're not conning me out of a possible tip.Holy crap,it IS Canadian. You can keep it,that won't work to get a jawbreaker at the candy store.
Evelyn:Gobstoppers still cost a quarter around here? There must be a catch. Are they individually wrapped in plastic and about the size of a gumball?
Eddy:Gob what?I'm talking about jawbreakers. They're about this big.
Evelyn:The name doesn't lie if that's true.I guess I know where I need to visit tomorrow.
Evelyn drives off and we see her end up at the Park and Flush knocking on the door to the Kankers' trailer. This is where we learn she's their older cousin and besides the internet articles most more personal stories about goings on came from Lee,Marie, and May.She says she understands why they are so infatuated with the Eds and believes it's better if she hides her relation to the Kanker clan for the time being. So would end the introductory episode.
---
As for something else that could play around with more recent changes in childhood play would have Ed's model kit hobby essentially play a role to the plot.Specifically he ordered a kit but what was delivered was massive.Ed builds it in a snap to reveal it's a giant mecha robot.Whatever is more in-line for the show's usual wackiness I guess they either try to turn it into something that can actually move around, they try to charge money to seeing it up close,and/or it's destroyed by the episode's end/remains in one of the backyards as an eyesore for the remainder of the series.
Evelyn is still playing a semi-prominent role through this and the next few episodes in trying to get a feel for the cul-de-sac lifestyle but eventually more-or-less gets phased out but is at least implied to be recording nearly everything the Eds are getting up to and eventually has an episode where she shows off what's been uploaded about her findings and experiences.Through this her identity as a Kanker also is brought to light. As a shoutout to how in the pitch bible it mentions Edd mails his socks to girls he has crushes on he might initially take it as a shock and go "AND TO THINK I WAS PLANNING ON MAILING MY SOCKS TO YOU!" but all she says to this was "Guess that explains why you wanted my address."

Concept: The Edd Identity
So here is a more comprehensive look at that idea for a hypothetical Ed, Edd n Eddy/Codename Kids Next Door crossover special I brought up a few days ago. XD
--
Titlecard: The Edd Identity (or alternatively ‘The Edd Ed-entity’ or ‘The Edd Ed-en-Eddy’)
We open with Double-D groggily regaining consciousness, waking to the aftermath of yet another of the trio’s scams. Not something as crazy as what kicked off the finale movie but rather something more standard for the show. Eddy is trying to placate a pissed-off Sarah and/or Kevin while Ed ambles about in his typical blissful ignorance.
Double-D for his part is left rubbing his head where something clearly knocked him out, looking at the remains of the contraption he built for Eddy’s latest hare-brained scheme with what seems to be a curious new perspective. Absently, he starts tinkering with some of the scattered parts…
Back with Eddy, negotiations have unsurprisingly broken down, and Sarah and Kevin and perhaps Rolf are fully prepared to deliver an expected ass-kicking to the three boys. Eddy decides this is the opportune time to cheese it and grabs Ed and Double-D to beat a hasty escape, maybe on some cart or other vehicle left over from the scam, with the other kids in hot pursuit.
However, this is where things start getting a little… strange.
While Eddy has his standard bravado going on and Ed is just having a good time, Double-D is oddly calm and composed, seemingly unperturbed by their current danger as he works on something.
Not only that, but when the trio seemed poised to wipe out and face the usual retribution from the other cul-de-sac kids, Double-D manages to save them with some quick-thinking and some hastily-assembled gadgets to throw off their pursuers. Like a hastily assembled rocket-booster made out of tin-cans for their cart and a smoke bomb combined with some soda and bubblegum that obscures their escape and leaves their pursuers temporarily stuck.
Needless to say, both Ed and Eddy watch all of them play out in fairly abject shock.
Having successfully escaped with their hides intact for once, the boys regroup at their houses. Ed is mostly gushing about how cool Double-D was while Eddy is both amazed at what just happened and also wondering since when to Double-D’s gadgets work as advertised.
However, Double-D has nothing to say as he’s already going inside his house, basically slamming the door in the other two Eds’ faces
Needless to say, Ed and Eddy are confused/miffed respectively and immediately start trying to either get Double-D’s attention or get into the house. When they finally manage to get inside, they find Edd holed up in his room working furiously, having already assembled several more seemingly random gadgets and drawn up several more plans stuck to the walls or scattered on the floor.
Eddy finally asks Double-D what is wrong with him, only for Edd to suddenly grab him and with a wild look respond; “I DON’T KNOW!”
Double-D then launches into a frantic rant about how all this stuff suddenly CAME to him after he got that blow to the head, how he suddenly KNOWS all this stuff that’s now just pouring out of his head and he doesn’t know why.
He frantically shows Eddy a few of the plans he’s drawn up, such as a schematic for what looks like a complicated fishing rod but what Double-D calls a ‘high-orbital space-hook to assist spacecraft in achieving escape-velocity’, or a blueprint for a ‘deep-sea covert mining/refining facility for converting raw-coffee deposits into hot chocolate’. All of the designs seemingly cobbled together from random bits of junk yet all looking to be quite well thought out. All the while Double-D keeps rambling about how he has no idea where all this is coming from or how he learned all of this but it feels like he always knew this but somehow forgot.
Eddy of course can’t make heads or tails of any of this and is mostly wondering how they can turn one of these into another scam, while in the background Ed seems oddly fixated on one drawing in particular…
All this is halted however when the boys suddenly hear banging and yelling at Double-D’s door. It seems Kevin and Sarah have found them. They’ve also recruited much of the rest of the cul-de-sac kids to help, or just watch the show.
And while Eddy and Ed are freaking out and trying to find a way to escape, Double-D simply grabs something he’d been tinkering with and heads to the front door. Cracking open the door, he tries to talk to Kevin, politely asking, in his normal diplomatic tone, to please come back later, as he’s dealing with a few things right now.
Kevin’s comedically put off by this for a moment but quickly makes a retort related to his fist in a dork’s face. Double-D simply sighs, and opens the door. Meeting Kevin with a rather familiar contraption that looks like a rifle with a couple of magnetized planks of wood.
And with one shot from a S.P.L.A.N.K.E.R., Kevin is sent flying.
From there the Eds make another escape while the rest of the kids are too shocked/dumbfounded/unconscious to give chase.
We then pull out to reveal a small drone observing all of this from afar. Cutting to a dark room, we see a monitor showing a view from the drone zooming in on Double-D. And a couple of mysterious figures comment how they’ve ‘found him’ and to ‘call it in’.
We later find the Eds now hiding out in the junkyard. Double-D is brooding while Eddy rails on how crazy this is and what is even going on while fiddling with the Splanker. Of course, he only succeeds in ‘splanking’ himself in the face. For all of his ranting, it’s clear that Eddy simply has no idea what is going on and has no idea how to react to all this.
Double-D finally starts talking, revealing that he was never actually sure how he knew everything he did about building the various contraptions for their scams. He just… knew how to do all of it. But he was never quite sure HOW… And now he’s thinking this might be the missing piece to all of it…
Eddy of course has no idea how to take this. Meanwhile, Ed is playing with the Splanker, though curiously, unlike Eddy he seems to immediately understand how to use it…
Any further discussion is halted when Double-D hears something. It sounds like someone is poking around outside. Eddy waves it off, assuming it’s just Kevin, Sarah or one of the others, confident that they’d never find this hideout, but Double-D isn’t so sure…
That’s when the explosions start.
Massive holes are suddenly blown in the walls and ceiling, smoke and flashbang grenades are tossed in, and numerous dark figures rush in. All three of the Eds are tazed, roped and tackled to the ground immediately. Eddy’s previous bravado evaporates as he starts freaking out in abject terror, assuming it’s the fuzz come for him for all of his years of scams. But his terrified screaming only gets him tazed again.
As the smoke clears, their attackers are revealed as numerous kids in uniform, including one boy with an orange hoodie and blonde bowlcut who tazed Eddy, and a girl with long black hair wearing a green sweater sitting on a now-trussed-up Ed. Out of the smoke, another figure enters: A boy in red with a bald head and sunglasses, flanked by another boy in blue wearing an aviators goggles and cap, and a girl with a long braid and red cap.
The boy in sunglasses, clearly the leader, approaches a now-prone and tied-up Double-D and addresses him in a grave voice:
“You’re a hard kid to find, Numbuh 2R20. We have some questions for you.”
-----
From here, my ideas for this whole thing get a lot more loose and free form, but here are some of the highlights I’ve come up with:
Double D, or Numbuh 2R20, used to be one of the top engineers and R&D specialists in the Kids Next Door, but vanished after the top-secret, deep-sea facility he was working as was destroyed in a mysterious accident. An accident that some surviving surveillance records imply that HE might have caused. He also turns out to be an old friend of Numbuh 2’s, as they worked together on a number of high-profile projects.
As should be pretty obvious by now, this whole idea takes the form of a broad parody of the Bourne Identity, though with one twist being that Double-D isn’t so much an assassin or secret agent, but an engineer and researcher, which leaves him far less capable of simply fighting his way out of situations. However, the whole ‘conspiracy thriller’ angle is fully intact.
Speaking of fighting, one fun concept for this whole idea is showing what the Kids Next Door look like to ‘civilian’ kids. As in, while they may have their bumbling moments from an insider’s viewpoint, from an outsider, these are in fact a bunch of secret agents/spies/commandos/assassins running a world-spanning underground organization.
Like whenever this crossover focuses on Eddy or any of the other cul-de-sac kids, it’s clear that he is ENTIRELY out of his depth in this situation. Like if we’re talking movie parallels, Eddy is basically the Marie to Double-D’s Bourne XD
Also, the big twist winds up being that Ed is ALSO an ex-KND operative. Specifically, he’s the product of what was essentially a secret super soldier program that Double-D was working on. And yeah, this would be a way of explaining why Ed is so freakishly strong and durable.
