goddamn i hate my emotions i cant get over a game. im genuinely so sad

like, with Lunacid. I really like Lunacid. it means a lot to me now, and it's a very cool game in general

i started playing it before it was released, and i waited for the full release. i wanted to play it so badly. for the whole week after release. i really really wanted to. and, well. i was sent to a mental hospital like a week prior to the release and stayed there for 3 DAMN WEEKS. it's like, yeah, it is fine. i guess. i played it afterwards but im still so sad over that for some fucking reason

and besides that i also lost my 2 very important savefiles, which represented my lunacid characters and im just. i dunno. i feel it's very dumb it's just a silly lil game everythings ok but. its not even about all the hours of grind ive lost, its about the memories connected to the saves. and the fact that they were supposed to represent a character. ive had so much fun being absolutely scared and barely surviving YET still with zero deaths as anxy. ive had so much fun go out of bounds and do insane shit and zoom through locations stacking up quick stride and collecting hundrends and hundreds of items and leveling up to 250+ and getting to 4th place in the leaderboard as snail!!!. i had so much fun seeing all the lil bugs, like snail!!!'s quick item bar breaking if an active item reaches 99 or being able to fall below hollow basin. i know it doesn't matter, i still have a lot of recordings, uploaded videos, even the characters are still with me and i know and remember how to do everything and i can just edit the savefiles and turn all the numbers back and it's literally JUST A GAME ITS NOT THAT FUCKING BAD yet for some reason there was something important for me that i lost and i cant even tell why. dang it

Actually yes thanks for giving me the excuse to rant. Hold on. I'm typing furiously rn.

-Okay first of all they gave us the most ridiculously confusing plot I've ever seen. The twist with Sonya being Animus was kinda cool but they never really. Explained why she had a bond with him? She mentioned he used to be kindhearted at some point but we never see that literally ever at any point in the movie?

-The storyline is so all over the place it's a HOT mess. Especially the scene right after Natsu escapes the weird bird cage thing he runs off to find the others and suddenly they're all there? For some reason? Where did they come from. Why didn't they have a little reuniting scene. I literally rewound the movie to make sure I didn't accidentally skip a scene but nope they just made the most awkward cut/story progression in history I guess!!!

-The fanservice was so. SO bad. Like yeah the majority of the time I can at least tolerate it but this time it just made me extremely uncomfortable. Why are Erza and Lucy's boobs SO fucking large. Why did they have to make Lucy dance in like two strips of cloth. I thought I woke up in an alternate universe where Fairy Tail was a hentai. I genuinely wanted to vomit lmao

-The animation style really threw me off like I can tell it was either animated by a different studio or they wanted to try a different art style for the movie? But it just felt wrong and the proportions and faces were weird and. Yeah idk.

-What was up with the Three Stars?? Iirc we never got to learn their names or what their motivations were they were literally just. There. And they were built up to be these super powerful wizards only to get their asses kicked by FT like two scenes later. I get that being a movie obviously the fights had to be shortened but they literally did the same thing in Phoenix Priestess but WAY better. They really were like yeah uh we need some enemies for Team Natsu to fight let's just go with these guys and not give them any personality or backstory or motivations. (Except for the doll dad he was okay I guess)

-WHY WAS LEVY THERE. LITERALLY. ACTUALLY. She literally did nothing she served NO purpose in the movie she was just there?? Did they just want to shove in as many cameos as possible??? I know generally Levy isn't much of a fighter which is fine, I was kinda expecting them to do a Gajevy scene where Gajeel rescues her from some soldiers or smth which would have been fine but they didn't even do that. She literally just stood there and had like 2 voice lines. GO GIRL GIVE US NOTHING

-SPEAKING OF CAMEOS this is more personal beef than anything but man WHYYY wasn't Loke in the movie,, my boy my beloved my stupid idiot lion I'm so mad he wasn't even onscreen for like, 5 seconds

-I'm sorry but Juvia was so unhinged this movie her possessive/stalker behavior over Gray was actually super fucking creepy lmao

-What did they do to Happy. What the FUCK did they do to Happy

-ALSO the scene where Happy and Lucy were crying over Natsu and we got tons of flashbacks from his POV of people who are important to him? WHY THE FUCK WASN'T HAPPY THERE?? They literally showed everyone from Fairy Tail precious to Natsu except Happy and I'm just sitting here like. HELLO?? You are SO wrong for that

-I will say I DID enjoy the little Nalu teasers we got especially the scene where Natsu showed Lucy the stars 🤧

HEY tumblr user tt04sty hope u r doing well and thank you for the ask. also my Thing has indeed arrived in good condition so thank god i didnt have to wait all day for it. to be frank questions about my favorite media make me feel like a deer in headlights bc for whatever reason whenever i get asked this i somehow forget every piece of media i've ever consumed or that has had an impact on me in any way and i don't know why. safe answer though is probably everything everywhere all at once which i know might come as an absolute shock to everyone (<- wrote a 16k word fic inspired by it) but generally just any media that is very Wacky and Surreal visual-wise but with a central theme of love and connection gets me really bad because i am very predictable and also a little pathetic. also as a gay asian living in the west with a very stereotypical asian mother you can probably understand why the movie had such an impact on me LOL.

also creative writing... i've only done one work of creative writing in the past few years and that was wind back the clock which i think about genuinely all the time. writing Character Study is the most cathartic and fun experience in the world to me and i prolonged publishing that for SO long because i just wanted to keep working on it forever. my writer's problem is that it takes me about 60 years to come up with an idea that i am captivated enough by to be able to put it into writing and actually stick to it for more than a day and that has only happened one single time in my 2 years in mcytblr. but by god i would kill a whole man to be able to do that all over again because i am regrettably a stem major and have not written an essay or anything else creative in years and while im enjoying it i do feel like im missing out on a crucial part of being a Person. i miss writing so much you have no idea. and i feel like the further i go into this Degree the more my Meta Analysis brain starts to rot and get replaced by Numbers and Formulas and Snippets of code. i'm losing my touch forreal

as far as other media goes... to be perfectly honest i have not been consuming much lately just because i have been very busy irl but i did just finish reading the red rising trilogy for the first time which was cool... also have probably watched about 200 hours of animal documentaries over the past few months LOL. actually on the topic of books i am going on a flight soon and will have a 9 hour stopover so if anyone has any book recommendations of ANY genre i would love to hear them. please tell me all of your favorite books i want to read them all

Oh my god, hello!! Admittedly Aleksei was born of a deeply indulgent burst of inspiration from what could be the spottiest, yet also the oldest account of Norn history known to us (i.e. Thrulnn the Lost's tale).

A huge chunk of Aleksei's very concept rides solely on the lost murmurings of how both norn and jotun used to be- Powerful, magical, ruled by their respective Kings before one distaster after another whittled away the Giant races' strengths.

Aleksei was the one and only son of the Last Norn King, an unfathomably powerful ruler who wielded the primordial magic of Tyria at that long bygone age, the Age of Giants. Just like his father before him, Aleksei had magic of his own, the power of which would push him into desperation when the Human Gods came and began to syphon the world's magic, leaving the Giant races to ruin. It's certainly not exactly like the magic now common to present-day Tyria, but you know, it has to come somewhere...right?

In a selfish, desparate albeit well-intentioned act, the then Crown Prince Aleksei took as much magic as he could before it was all absorbed into bloodstone. He poured everything he had into one final spell, one that will save his own life from the chaos that followed the weakening and unrest of the Giant races. It may even be the first instance of the use of Chronomancy in Tyria, in a grand scale, though only Aleksei himself could truly vouch/speak of it at present.

This resulted in Aleksei becoming a pseudo-immortal man, technically aging (just suuuuuper slowly), but never withering, complete with a glamor of his youthful visage. Because of this, despite the fall of the old kingdoms, Aleksei lived among his people as time passed, serving them as their crown prince through the major events of modern Norn history, even if in reality, all that amounted to was a man who was merely one with the crowd- blending in, aiding them where he could, all the while Aleksei had to actively live through the fading of the old world as he knew it a long, long time ago.

I have an... unusual question about SAS, that you can choose to ignore if you like. From someone who is considering watching it, but also has a bad habit of trailing off of shows before they get really heavy, roughly how much emotional bandwidth would this show take up? Scaled against TMA, if you'd like :P

oh that's a good question! I would say, this show isn't the lightest - there is the generic ww2 sadness, and the tragedy, and also the war crimes (which do very much happen and yes, they are against nazis but like. I cannot stress enough that these babygirls do commit literal war crimes). it does take everything with a good dose of british gallows humour, though, which to me makes it generally easier to stomach, though for some people it might feel a little jarring - and that is not to say that the really grim, darker moments are not treated seriously. overall I think it has a good balance of "making you want to lie on the floor and cry" and genuinely hilarious moments, but that kind of thing can be really subjective.

if we want to compare it to Magnus, I would say the format is different. you know how Magnus just gets more and more tragic and depressing as it goes? Rogue Heroes doesn't really work like that, it has a lot of ups and downs. i would say that episodes 1 and 2 are quite lighthearted, 3 and 4 are very sad, and 5 and 6 are about the fallout and recovery from 3 and 4 (though there is a couple of very heavy moments in episode 6, as well, just slightly less overall misery). I am happy to provide more context on what things might be really heavy, though that would venture into spoiler territory.

in short: I wouldn't say that this is a fun lighthearted show to put on for a laugh, but I think that largely it balances the tragedy and the silliness quite nicely - while keeping in mind that, considering the entire premise and the setting, there IS a fair amount of tragey.

Well, yes and no.

Yes - I usually check tumblr every day. (Ya girl needs her dose of fan-content and other nerdyness. 🤓) Sometimes every two or three or x-amount of days if I’m in need of a ‘digital break’.

No - I reblog stuff every day but those are all part of a very long queue. So when I reblog something it’s been in my queue for a few days at least. I used to tag everything with ‘queue’ but I constantly forgot so I don’t bother with that anymore.

When I post something (mostly my fics) then it’s not part of a queue. Same goes for answering asks like these. That’s when I’m logged on for real. 😉
