He had been suprised, to say the least, when his father told him. The king had proposed he married his daughter Myrcella. They were of the same age. She was a princess and he the next Warden of the North. It seemed beneficial to both parts and it would make the alliance the frienship between Eddard Stark and Robert Baratheon had created between their houses even stronger as now their families would truly be joined through that marriage.

However, that was not what came to the northerner's mind. I know very little about her, he thought instead. But so does she about me. Thus, to try and change that, after the small talk with his father he decided to look for her. Something that took him quite some time until, at last, he found her in the Great Hall. Sitting in front of a fireplace. It seemed that, no matter that the water from the hot springs was piped through the walls to warm them, it was still cold for a stag.

If she had heard him enter, he saw no reaction from her. Not even when he sat next to her. She keep looking straight to the fire. And, for a few seconds, he did the same. Not knowing what to say. Not wanting to mess things up from the very beginning ❝ you have heard too, haven't you? ❞ Robb ended asking. Finally breaking the awkard silence that had settled between them ❝ how do you feel about it? ❞

PSA that I'm slightly canon-divergent, in that I follow Pippa / li0ndaughter's canon-divergence, which makes Myrcella the oldest Baratheon child because it's fun and makes a lot of sense theme-wise. ( That being said, with Myrcella being roughly the same age as Robb and Margaery, Joffrey being twelve in AGOT, and Tommen being seven in AGOT, Tommen was absolutely an oops baby )

She doesn't even know what to say; doesn't know what there is to say, and she's glad that Myrcella seems to instinctually know that, because it isn't like she's not grateful that Myrcella is here, or that she isn't touched by Myrcella having put the effort into finding her. She is grateful for it, she's touched by it, she appreciates it so much but she can't figure out how to put any of it into words. She's trapped in this spiral of self-pity and self-loathing that's mixed with equal parts stifled anger and pent-up fury at the people who had put her in this position against her will every step of the way.

"I'm just so embarrassed..." Embarrassed. Violated. Angry. Betrayed. Judged. Hurt. Part of her wants to just go crawl into a hole and never have to see anyone else on the planet ever again. Part of her knows that's stupid. Part of her wants to go throw eggs at TMZ's and every other tabloid's offices. Part of her knows that's juvenile. And useless and stupid. Part of her wants to pretend nothing happened and that her entire career and life didn't just blow up into a thousand pieces. All of her knows that's impossible. Just the thought of having to go back to the real world outside Inez's house and having to face people who've seen...that... makes her sick.

alright, y'all, im gonna make this prettier and more narrative for her carrd, but here's a bullet-style rundown for the basics of her main verse as it stands right now. while i am affiliated with @highevar and bee's greer (whenever bee brings greer back) and there will be aspects of this verse that are particular to nan and elethea/ bee and greer, this general outline can be altered to work outside of that affiliation / with other wardens/etc. in a more general sense (if we're working outside of the affiliated verse, for whatever reason) "elethea" can become "the warden," and the aspects involving greer would likely translate to elissa trying to find fergus.

when greer goes hunting so close to howe's arrival, eleanor tells elissa where greer was going with the intention to maybe send elissa after her if she was going to be late. this obviously never ends up happening but elissa knows which direction her sister was going.

highever is attacked - elissa is out of her room by the time anyone might be looking for her, maybe trying to help people escape, trying to find her family, etc. she ends up a few steps behind duncan and elethea in getting out of the castle, too far behind to catch up but near enough that she sees elethea alive

elissa initially heads out after greer, but comes across darkspawn fairly soon thereafter and realizes she isn't getting that far on her own, especially seeking a moving target (and one that has probably moved off its original course since she started)

knowing that arl eamon is likely to be sympathetic / likely to help a cousland, she heads for redcliffe

arrives in redcliffe early, helping the village to try to defend itself. she meets up with greer when she gets there, then reunites with elethea when the wardens arrive

following this moment, the rest of it's kind of a just an "&etc" - she's part of the party now, she takes part in whatever portions of the storyline plotting/etc takes her

in general, i do want her at least involved in the storyline with connor and the werwolves but otherwise i'm 🤷‍♀️ about where she is / what she's doing and it can kinda move around a bit. what exactly her involvement means in those scenarios and what the outcomes are can change from interaction to interaction, but they have some character beats that are kind of important to me (we'll get to hose later)

in the sense of the overall story arc of the affiliated verse, she does end up with zevran - - this can absolutely be removed/altered/etc depending on interpretations of characters, plotting, etc. but it can also be a point of conversation/interaction/plotting/etc if it interests you. this is obviously not something i would force onto any zev writers / etc

She doesn't necessarily know what she'd expected Myrcella's reaction to be when she'd confessed the full truth of her relationship with Jason -- it's not like she thought Myrcella would be anything other than her kind and generous self, but this isn't exactly something that Dorothea has told very many people about, especially not in full, so it's not really something she's practiced getting responses to saying out loud. Besides that, with how important and well-connected Myrcella's family is, it adds an extra layer of uncertainty as to how this could go over.

(Again, not that she doesn't trust Myrcella, nor does she think that Myrcella has the same values as her family, but there's still image to consider, in this world where publicity and image can topple careers overnight. That's the fear that's kept her coming clean to so few of her friends anyway, isn't it?)

It's the simple, compassionate observation that reminds Dorothea why she loves Myrcella so much, and why she'd decided to trust her with this. She laughs, and then as soon as she starts laughing, she starts crying. "Yeah I really do."
