((I got intrigued about how Atticus might feel insecure about his and Alexis’ relationship after graduation. He’s always been the big brother to provide comfort and support, so what will he do when she spreads her wings. Plus I finally get to introduce Ms Mutou to GX Month))

To call Ms Mutou’s Office and Office was a bit of a stretch.

It was a decent sized room, probably an old classroom before that part of the building became Offices. She had a few beanbags and large cushions lying to one side and a few coffee tables amongst them. On the other side were a few tables and chairs and a station that provided coffee, tea and biscuits.

The truth is Ms Motou’s office wasn’t much of an office at all. But a room she had created for students to wind down in and relax as duelling could be stressful. So they could read, take a nap, play quieter games or duel without disks. There was also a spot called the confidentiality corner for students to vent their troubles to the young teacher. She couldn’t guarantee advice, but sometimes they just wanted someone to listen.

Today the office was on the empty side. Students were busy preparing for their final exams, and her adoption litter had gone no contact with her after her stunt with Dyspia. To be honest, she didn’t blame them. Sending her kids to a nightmare dimension where they had to confront the worst of themselves just to settle a petty squabble between friends probably was a bit extreme. Her cousin, Christina, had made it very clear she wasn’t speaking to her, and Megan said no hugs for a week. Even Mako said, “Leysa, I love you, but that was too far….”

So, needless to say, she was surprised when she saw Atticus was slated for a session in her confidentiality corner.

She had just finished making her tea when Atticus walked into the office

“Full disclosure, I’m still pissed off at you about the Dyspia thing”, The third year started, “but I need to get something off my chest and didn’t know where else to go.”

“You’ve come to the right place!” Leysa gestured for the other to take a seat “what seems to be the problem, Atticus?”

“It’s about Lexi…” Atticus sighed. “She’s excelling in all her classes and knows exactly what she wants to do after school, and knowing her, she’s going to be very successful….”

Leysa failed to see what the problem was. “And how does that make you feel?”

“I don’t know— I mean, I was convinced I was going to make it as a big musician, but now I’m not sure… some people would argue I’m past my prime. I mean, I’m 19 now….”

“I’m pretty sure 19 isn’t past your prime, Atticus. I mean, Guilmon Deltora didn’t make it big until he was 35, so you still have time…” Leysa assured. “Besides, didn’t you mention you wanted to be on reality TV? Anyone of any age can get stardom in that industry!”

She really didn’t want to encourage Atticus to be on Reality TV, but she was trying to cheer him up right now.

“I mean, yeah, but that’s not the problem… I guess… do you have any idea what it’s like to have a sibling that’s so much more popular and famous than you?”

“Atticus, my twin brother is Yugi Mutou”, Leysa deadpanned. “I have a fair idea.”

“Oh shit”

“You forgot?”

“Yeah”

“It’s cool. I’m used to it, continue?”

“Ok, right!” Atticus took a deep breath. “I guess I’m just anxious because well… Lexi is going to do so well in life and as a result she… she isn’t going to need me anymore… I’ve always watched her, protected her, encouraged her, but lately she’s been pushing me away, and I’m worried one day… she won’t want me in her life.”

Leysa slammed her hands on the table.

“Ok, Atticus! I know I’m overbearing but listen up. As someone who is the little sister, I can assure you there are times when I still turn to Yugi for advice. When we were living in separate countries, I would still call him when I was insecure! But this is not about me. This is about you and Lexi, and I assure you that she will still want you around, even need you around! She’s going to need someone to vent her problems too, someone’s shoulder to cry on, and someone to stand by her no matter what.”

“B-but doesn’t she have her friends for that?” Atticus asked, still not convinced.

“Ok, let me put it this way. Do you have any idea what Alexis went through to find you? She had sleepless nights, interrogated everyone she could, risked death several times and then visited your bedside every single day! Because she missed you, she loved you, and she wanted you to come home!” Leysa sighed “if you don’t believe me, then how about talking to her….”

“Wow… Lexi never told me any of that….” Atticus mumbled. Looking at his feet. “She did that?”

“All of it and more!”

“Wow…” Atticus sighed. Now he felt like a butt. “I’m going to go talk to her….”

“Good idea. Why not go to the secret hang out spot! Use the old swing of memories!”

“Good idea… thanks, Ms M… still mad at you, though.”

“I know!”

Alexis was confused about why Atticus had invited her to the secret lake where the adoption litter usually met up. But at the same time, it was nice for them to catch up alone as siblings.

“Lexi! Glad you could make it!!”

“Atti!!” Alexis smiled “so what’s the occasion?”

“I… I guess I wanted to play the swing of memories card… I wanted to do the big brother thing just a bit longer!” Atticus said quietly.

“A bit longer? What do you mean?” Alexis asked, confused.

“Well, you’re going to the pro leagues, aren’t you? Once you do that, you’ll be big and famous and successful. You won’t need to rely on me anymore.”

“As Megan always says, that’s bull hockey!” Alexis scoffed.

“W-what do you mean!?”

“Atticus, you idiot, I’ll always need you!” Alexis sighed and pulled her big brother into a hug. “You’ve always been there for me and believed in me… I don’t know what I’d do without you!”

“I’m sorry, Lexi….” Atticus sighed and hugged back. “I didn’t mean to make you upset….”

“It’s ok, Atticus… just know you’ll always be my big brother, and I’ll always need you!”

“I’ll always need you too, Alexis!!” Atticus teared up, “after hearing everything you went through for me… I hope you know how much you mean to me, and I can’t wait to see you make it big in the pro leagues….”

Alexis teared up too and hugged him again. Eventually smiling and turning to the old swing hanging from the tree. “Hey, do you want to…”

“Oh, absolutely!”

Alexis sat on the swing, and Atticus stood on it with one foot on either side of her. “Let’s go!”

Alexis kicked her feet, and whoosh, they were off. Free in the air as the sunset, the two of them giggling and sharing memories and making the most of their time together.

((IT’S LEYSA TIME!! And she’s Brought friends!! Megan and Clover belong to @silverfrostheart , Christina/Chinatsu belongs to @meda-princess , and Aurora belongs to @straybreeze. I was going to have Leysa duel Crowler, but I couldn’t be bothered, so it’s just domestic fun time today))

Leysa sighed as she got off the boat onto Academy Island. She was looking around. It had been a while since she’d been here. Ok, a few months but still a while.

“It’s good to be home….”

She headed over to the Slifer dorms but noticed a part had been added to one side of the building. “That’s new….”

Maybe one of her requests for renovations finally got approved after all these years? Maybe? Maybe not?

She went over and heard the voices of her students, her kids, the Adoption Litter as she lovingly called them. Oh, she missed them so much!!

She knocked on the door of the new part of the building and called out. “Is anyone home? May I come in?”

Ms Mutou was back in town!

Inside the Slifer dorms, particularly the part Chazz had renovated, Jaden, Syrus, Hassleberry, Chazz, Alexis, Bastion, Megan, Clover, Christina and the new recruit, Aurora, were discussing how to keep Crowler away from destroying the Slifer dorms, as clearly that’s what he planned on doing.

Hearing the voice cry out, everyone jumped in surprise.

“Wait was that—“ Syrus asked

“Holy crap, guys! It’s mom!!” Megan yelled.

Aurora and Hassleberry, who had no context whatsoever, were very much confused. Had Megan and Jaden’s mother come to the island to visit? But why?

“Doors unlocked!” Chazz called out,

Leysa walked in and waved to the group. “Hey, guys!!”

Oh, ethics be damned

“Come here, you guys!” She announced and held her arms out.

Jaden didn’t need to be told twice. He charged towards the teacher and hugged her, Megan and Syrus not too far behind. Alexis, Christina, Clover and Bastion joined the group eventually, with less enthusiasm but no less love for the group.

Chazz hung back because he believed he was too cool, while Aurora and Hassleberry stayed back because they had no idea what was going on.

“aaaaw, you guys!! I missed you so much!!” Leysa cooed

“We missed you too!” Jaden smiled. “The team mom is back!!”

“I thought you were still on maternity leave!” Bastion commented

“Syrus emailed me telling me what Crowler was doing, so I came back early!” Leysa explained, “I see they didn’t provide a replacement. Guess they were up to something….”

She then noticed the new faces. Her cousin, Christina, decided to fill her in.

“Leysa-née, this is Tyranno Hassleberry and Aurora Dawn. Aurora’s a new Slifer Red student, and Hassleberry is a dinosaur loving duelist who moved in because he owes Jaden or something.”

Hassleberry huffed and crossed his arms while Aurora waved.

“Well, if you’re under my roof, that makes you one of my kids! Welcome to the family!” Leysa announced. “I'm Ms Leysa Mutou, I'm in charge of the dorms, but most people call me Ms M or Mom, so if you prefer to use one of those, you can.”

Aurora seemed to blush at that “family?”

“That’s right! I try to make the Slifer dorms more like a family here. We look out for each other and care for each other! No one gets left behind!”

“W-wow!!” Aurora smiled.

Leysa smiled before turning back to her cousin. “So how bad is the situation? I noticed you’re wearing a Slifer jacket.”

“Yep! Alexis and I moved here out of protest, neither of us wants these dorms destroyed, and Alexis doesn’t want to be Crowler’s little barbie.”

“Ok, well, welcome to the dorms… it’s almost a dream come true, all of us living under one roof. I just… wish it was better circumstances….”

“Aw, come on, mom!” Megan assured, “we’re all happy to be here, right?!”

“Yeah!” Jaden agreed, “we’re a family that sticks together!”

Aurora seemed to shake a little. They were using this word a lot. Honestly, she wanted to be a part of this family, but… would she be betraying Aster if she did that…?

Christina and Megan noticed the pram behind Leysa, and Jaden gasped excitedly.

“Is that-“

“Yeah...” Leysa said softly and turned the pram around, showing the adorable twin boys inside. “Meet your baby brothers! Seiji and Seiryu”

“Wow... They’re so tiny!” Syrus gasped

“And so cute” Jaden smiled

Megan cooed as well while the other students gathered around. “Aaaaw, little cutie patooties!”

Leysa smiled, proudly showing off her babies.

“The one with the blonde wisp is Seiji, and the other is Seiryu!”

“Can I hold one ms M? Please?”

“Ok, but you have to be careful, Jaden!”

Leysa picked up Seiji and gave him to Jaden. To her surprise, he was very gentle, holding him like he was made of glass.

“Wow, Slacker, I didn’t think you’d be into this!” Chazz scoffed.

“Jay’s always been gentle when it came to babies,” Christina explained dismissively. Megan nodded in agreement “it's really cute watching him comfort them”

Aurora couldn’t stop her fingers from taking a photo of Jaden being maternal.

Clover ran to his room and came back with two stuffed animals. “H-here you go! A present from your big brother!”

“Aw, Clover! That’s so sweet!!” Leysa gasped.

Christina decided to lower her cool shield and gave her cousin another hug. “Welcome home, Leysa-née….”

She smiled and hugged Christina back. “I’m home….”

It had been a while since she had a catch up with her twin brother. Not for the lack of trying. She had been busy with her studies and her dad needing some help with the dojo.

But now she was able to see him again. She was so excited she couldn’t keep still.

Leysa yawned as she had finished another rehearsal with her light music club. It was a big one but she was proud of the progress she and the band had made.

She said farewell to her bandmates and got to searching for Yugi as she would be staying at his place this weekend.

“Yugi-nii? Where are you?” She called out. Noticing he wasn’t at his usual meeting spot.

That’s when she saw the familiar spikes and called out to him, waving her arm. “Yugi-nii! There you are!!”

She hurried to catch up with him, wondering why he wasn’t at her usual meeting spot.

“Pharaoh... it’s alright...” Leysa smiled weakly. “Make the move...”

“But... I promised Yugi I would keep you safe... and if you lose this duel your soul is forfeit.” “I’ll be alright.... just like Timaeus and Elura before us I will lay down my life to help you save the world...” As if on cue, Leysa’s card, Legendary Sorceress Elura held her arms out, ready for the attack.

The Legendary Knight, Timaeus seemed to falter... to hesitate even. “Sister... I only just got to see you again after so long” “Everything will be alright brother. I have no regrets towards anything that brought me to this moment... I sacrificed myself to save Atlantis and you and now I will willingly do it again...” “I...I’m not ready...” “You’re going to have to be... someone needs to fight alongside Critias and Hermos to defeat the Leviathan and it’s not going to be me...” Tears streamed from the Lady’s eyes as she looked at her brother dead on. “Come Timaeus! let us end this!!”

Yami wanted to call the attack. But again he hesitated.  “Leysa...” “I believe in you Pharaoh... I know you can do this!”

“Alright...” Yami took a deep breath before holding his arm out “Timaeus! Attack the Legendary Sorceress and end this duel!!”

Timaeus ran forward and struck Elura with his sword, the two coming face to face with each other. “Timaeus... thank you” “Goodbye Elura...” With the duel complete, the Oricalchos seal went to claim its prize. Leysa cried out in pain and fell forward.

Only for Yami to catch her. “Pharaoh...?” “It’s alright... I’m here...” “Don’t give up... I know you can stop Dartz and save Yugi and the others... I believe in you...” “I won’t let you down... I promise....”

With that Leysa fell limp in the Pharaoh’s arms, her soul gone.

Send me a shipping and I’ll write a drabble Leysa wasn’t sure how this relationship was going to work. Yami was an Egyptian spirit first and foremost but the fact he was also a spirit in the body of her twin brother also made things a bit weird for them.

Still, she couldn’t deny that she had a connection with the pharaoh.

“Leysa?” the younger Mutou looked up at the prince’s kind eyes. She must’ve spaced out again.

“Is something wrong?” “Um... well, Can yugi hear all of our conversations?” “Um... Penelope: I must say as arrogant and foolish as I find him. I do sympathise with him. I too know what it’s like to have a darkness lying deep within

Aayla: I can also sympathise. Unknowingly causing harm and damage to your friends only to struggle to salvage it afterwards is always a difficult task.

Elura: I don’t know him very well but it sounds like from what my descendants are saying, he needs some tlc and affection.

Leysa wasn't there to pick up Yugi from the airport. This wasn't a common thing. In fact not being there would normally be a cause for concern as she was always there to pick him up.

But it wouldn't be a cause for concern this time. Because he knew where she was and therefore where he needed to go.

The hospital wasn't far from the airport. So it the trip wasn't that long. However it was worrying considering the circumstances.

The nurse directed Yugi where to go and as he entered the room, there was his sister. Sitting on the bed, resting, in her arms, two precious little bundles. Leysa looked at Yugi and have him a big but tired smile.
