A Translation of my favorite Birkin Gainbourg interview
Context (under the cut)
After their break up in 1980, Serge spent the first year isolated and depressed. When he came back to the spotlights he wrote songs until the year he died (1991) about his break up with Jane .
He wrote them with the first person pronoun (referring to himself of course) and the "you" to refer to Jane (a pronoun also gender neutral in french btw)
However, he decided at the last moments he was too bashful to perform those songs so he asked Jane to do it instead without altering the pronouns.
Ironically, most of the songs he performed himself were about provoking topics and nonsense.
Jane said it was like he trusted her to sing a vulnerable side of him that he was too ashamed to show to the public eyes .
She added it was also a way to make her feel bad for leaving him.
In fact, while they were studio recording, sometimes Jane would say exasperated "Okay ! stop it for now. I get it. I hurt you " and Serge wouldn't say anything only tears running down his cheeks behind the studio soundproof window
So to break the tension, she would sing as high as she could doing her best performance and he would come and hug her while repeating "that's it, that's it"
In this 1990 interview, Serge talks about the play of pronouns in their last song "amoures defuntes"
" Amoures defuntes " and "amoures des feintes" are homonyms. The first means deceased love and the second love of tricks

So a little while ago me and my friend @latersgayt0rs kinda realized something about the ROTTMNT movie.
Leo’s plan at the end made perfect sense.
And I don’t mean that from a writing standpoint— of course that made sense for plot purposes— I mean from an in-universe perspective. Leo’s perspective.
People say it was suicidal, or say he didn’t have to do it that way, which is a totally valid interpretation! But me and Ferr saw it a little differently.
So, let's look at all the facts of the situation. After regaining their ninpo, the turtles all fought Krang Prime (or, Krang One) with everything they had. EVERYTHING.
Donnie fired that big barrage of missiles, Mikey threw an entire goddamn SKYSCRAPER at him! Everyone gave it their all, but when they combined their powers and tried to punch Krang Prime with ALL of that—
He stopped them by simply flicking his fingers. He knocked Donnie and Mikey off the building, both unable to catch themselves so Raph of course had to go save them.
And Leo was left alone.
With all of that prior information, what else was Leo really supposed to do in that situation?
Sure, he could ask where the others landed and form a portal to get them back up there, but again; Everything. They threw EVERYTHING they had at Krang Prime, and he flung them away like it was nothing. Who’s to say he wouldn’t just do that again? Or kill someone?
Not to mention Leo had to be exhausted. It was nighttime when the movie began, then daytime in the middle, then it looked pretty dark when everything was going on at the end. Maybe that was just dust and debris kicked up by the Technodrome, but hours had passed with no sleep, no rest, only action. Only fighting.
Leo went from the first fight to the Krang to the subway tunnels fight, to the stuff that happened in Metro Tower, to his 1v1 with Raph, to this fight with little to no breaks in between. Physically at least; again, he did not sleep between these times. And emotions had to be going INSANE after Raph was taken.
How do we know he even had the energy to make enough portals to get everyone back up there then be able to portal them/himself around during the fight?
So, Leo was tired. Leo knew how strong Prime was. And most importantly, he knew the stakes.
If Krang Prime was not stopped here, then the entire world would be destroyed. His family would be killed. Everyone would die.
Leo had NO choice. There was no other choice, no other option for him. No other route to take.
He HAD to lock Krang Prime back in the Prison Dimension. And the only way for him to do that and keep him inside was to teleport them both.
There was no other alternative that would have worked.

Thank you so much for your touching words about my stories and what better way to say thank you than with a new story. I have heard your wish and you will get a new jealousy story. Your Strawberry
A smile
He had only been gone a day, but she missed him already. Especially in the evenings, she found the silence uncomfortable. His days were always long, but eventually he would come to her and his thoughts would bubble out. Sometimes she wished that her debriefings - and she was the queen of debriefings - didn't last so long, but if they were completely absent, she missed them and especially him very much.
Restlessly, she roamed the flat. She felt she had to get close to him somehow, but she didn't know how. The time difference meant she couldn't call him now. She hoped he had the good sense to sleep at this hour. Her way led her to the bedroom and his perfume attracted her magically. Since he knew she used it when he wasn't there, he put it where she could see it immediately. Smiling, she sprayed it on her forearm, closed her eyes and inhaled the scent. It was a start, but it wasn't enough. She sat down on her bed, took her mobile phone and looked for a song he liked that was as melancholic as she was feeling right now. With her eyes closed, she listened to Leo Ferre singing "Avec le temps".
When the last note had faded away, she was still not satisfied. Then she had an idea, but her fingers paused over the phone. Normally she avoided looking for him on the internet. There was so much evil and it hurt her to read what he was being accused of. But she shook off those negative thoughts and opened a photo agency site. She typed in his name and immediately the latest pictures of her husband appeared. Her breath caught when she saw him and she scrolled from picture to picture. However, her initial enthusiasm quickly turned into the opposite. After a few photos, she closed the page, put her phone away and went to bed.
The next morning she heard her phone ring and she recognised from the ringtone that it was him. Resigned, she took her pillow and pressed it on her head to stop hearing the ringing. After a while, she threw the pillow on his unused side of the bed and got up. The ringing had stopped by now and she felt miserable. She picked up the phone and stared at it. Two missed calls. As she looked at it, it began to ring again and automatically she picked it up.
"Chérie, are you all right?" she heard him ask anxiously. "You woke me up," she said in a tone that made her wince herself. There was silence on the other end of the line. It seemed that her answer had left him speechless. After what felt like an endless pause, he said seriously, "You hang up now, then I'll call you on video call and we'll talk face to face," he told her. After she breathed a soft "yes", the line went dead. She stared at the device and immediately it rang again.
She picked up and saw his face before her. Wrinkles appeared on his forehead and he looked at her with concern. "What happened?" he asked without introduction and she felt his gaze pierce her. It seemed like she had done something wrong and that fuelled the anger she had been feeling since last night. "I'm so angry with you," she groaned, startling him. The wrinkles on his forehead deepened. "Why?" he asked and she heard bewilderment in his voice. That question alone made her explode. "You seem to be enjoying this trip very much," she said bitingly. "What makes you think that?" he continued to play the clueless and that annoyed her so much that she finally spoke out what was burning on her soul.
"In every damn photo I've seen of you, you're smiling like you're the happiest man in the world. Who is that smile for? For the nice ladies behind the cameras? For all the women who smile at you? For all the women in the world who look at these photos? In every picture you look like a languishing lover," she rumbled. As she spat out her words, his expression changed and he actually started laughing. She felt herself freeze and incredulously she looked at him. She couldn't get a word out, she found his reaction so outrageous.
Then he stopped and looked at her urgently. "Are you really jealous because I smile in photos?" he asked, seeming surprised by the question himself. "I'm not..." she began and fell silent. "You are!" he said confidently, shaking his head. "Now listen to me very carefully," he said, looking at her conspiratorially. "There is exactly one reason why I am smiling like this in these photos. One single reason." Tensely waiting for him to continue, she asked softly, "Which one?" "You," he said simply, waiting for the word to actually reach her. She frowned. "When I'm so far apart from you, I imagine you miss me so much that you look for photos of me. That's why I smile when someone holds their camera on me. I smile and think of you because I imagine you looking at that very photo when I'm not with you."
He saw the shock his words had given her. "But..." she said hoarsely. "No buts," he said gently. "How can you assume that I would look at another woman like that, or that I would smile like that for another woman? You are always with me no matter where I am and I will never feel for anyone what I feel for you." She avoided his gaze and said softly, "Now I feel ashamed. I was so alone and sad last night. Then I saw those photos and..." He interrupted her, "... and you saw exactly what you read into them. The happiest man in the world, pining over his wife," he smiled, taking away her guilty conscience.
When he sighed, she looked at him questioningly. "It's sexy as hell when you're jealous of yourself," he teased her and they laughed. "I love you and I miss you," she said, looking at him apologetically. "I love you too, chérie," he replied softly, "and I miss you just as much."
Hellooo sweet 🍓! ❤️
Omg, we just reached the peak of jealousy... Brigitte being jealous of herself! It’s so incredibly funny and adorable at the same time!
No but him smiling because he knows she misses him and will look for photos of the event... My heart cannot take the fluffiness 🫠
Really love how you turned the jealousy idea around! Perfect and worth it 😜
Thank you so much, Strawberry! ❤️❤️❤️

I read someone ask what the hell gisele did before Victoria’s Secret and they said she was just a VS model to them. 😭🤣
Well she didn’t sign her Victoria Secret contract until 2000.
Here’s a little of what she accomplished pre VS:
-in 1998 she worked for all the big Vogues in editorials, walked for every major fashion designer and had ad campaigns for Versace,Chloe,Ferre,Missoni,Ralph Lauren and Valentino. She was highly in demand. The new “it” girl in fashion. She had covers for British Vogue,Vogue Brazil,i-D,Allure,ELLe,Marie Claire,Cosmo,Arena magazines. She worked with the biggest photographers; Helmut Newton,Steven Meisel,David Sims,Patrick Demarchelier,Mario Testino,Michel Comte,Ellen von Unwerth,Michael Thompson.
-1999 she was so big in fashion, she won Vogue model of the year award at age 19 beating out other heavy contenders at the time Carmen kass,Angela Lindvall,Maggie Rizer and Frankie Rayder. Given to her by Anna Wintour…She went onto be put on the cover of American Vogue with the headline “return of the sexy model”. She was the poster child for the anti waif models. She was in ad campaigns for Celine,Dolce & Gabbana,Versace,Valentino. She went onto have 3 American Vogue covers all in one year at only age 19. When celebs were beginning to saturate the covers…covers for W magazine 3 times,ELLe,Vogue Brazil,Vogue UK,Vogue Paris,Vogue Italy, (the big 4 Vogues accomplished at age 19). Numero Magazine,Harper’s Bazaar. Continuing to work with all the photography giants.
She walked the runways for Alberta Ferreti,Alexander McQueen,Anna Sui,Balmain,Blumarine,Calvin Klein,Carolina Herrera,Celine,Chanel,Chloe,Dior,Dolce & Gabbana,Dkny,Donna Karan, Gianfranco Ferre,Givenchy,Gucci,Helmut Lang,Hugo Boss,Jean Paul Gaultier,Jil Sander,John Galliano,Lanvin,Loewe,Louis Vuitton,Marc Jacobs,Marni,Max Mara,Michel Kors,Missoni,Miu Miu,Moschino,Narcisco Rodriguez,Oscar de la Renta,Prada,Ralph Lauren,Salvatore Ferragamo,Rifat Ozbek,Sportmax,Tommy Hilfiger,Valentino,Versace,Versace Haute Couture,Victoria’s Secret,Yves Saint Laurent ;and many more)!
That is all pre Victorias Secret and pre Leo….any more questions?
