I have a theory of possible mk origin basically that mk is actually a mixture of the powers of him monk tripitaka and sun wukong

Tripitaka wanted to take the circle away from sun wukong, because he thought that SWK had already learned from his mistakes and was fully redeemed, also that his friendship, trust with him was already well advanced, tripitaka thought that circle was no longer necessary.

Then he made a spell /ritual to remove the circle, which resulted in a fraction of the tripitaka and sun wukong power unwittingly merging and stopping on a rock.

I came up with this theory after seeing some pictures of tang

And I noticed that his hair style when unkemped looks a little bit like mk

The show made it clear that tang and tripitaka are identical.

In mk's flashbacks you see sun wukong and tang for some reason

Maybe it's tripitaka but mk's mind associates him with tang

That might explain why mk was born in human form. Because is also his true form

(I also noticed an interesting but probably unimportant detail, which is that both tripitaka and tang wear mostly red clothes while SWK on the journey wears mostly yellow clothes and is curious because the dominant color in mk is orange)

The goddess who appears in the memories of mk maybe only anticipate in the process of incubation of the rock And decides to speed up the process

I wonder about Tang being 'related' to the monk. Technically, I think (not sure) the monk would have ended his reincarnation cycle after attaining enlightenment (so I've heard). So .....what is Mr. Tang?

Also, it's gotta really be eating at Wukong how similar they are. Talk about enemies to uh....besties.... ? Brothers, I guess, for sure.

That whole quest to get the scrolls was one hellofva roadtrip.

You might remember seeing MK’s and Mei’s earlier this year because I had put them to a poll. If you weren’t there, then the final results were Mei’s A design, and MK’s C design.

Please feel free by any means to design the outfits in your own way. These are just what I used as the basis for my writing. But if you have ideas of your own and can draw them, then I would love to see what you would envision their outfits as!

Imagine the potential for character growth for Tang after season 3 should he learn about Tripitake’s actions. He felt inferior to Monk Tripitaka and wished to be more useful to the group. Getting his powers would have enforced the idea he needs powers to have worth.

Then Tang would learn how flawed said Monk was and how he hurt people (even if not intentionally). That such a famous man was a messy person who made mistakes would shake Tang’s worldview (even more).

Add that Sun Wukong was one of the people Tripitaka hurt.

Add whatever connection there is between Tang and Tripitaka and how Tang received his powers that mirror what the Golden Cicada / Tripitaka could do.

Imagine Tang’s internal conflict.

(Please also consider the what-if Tang might think through. Would he’ve made similar mistakes if his life had gone just a bit differently? Would he’ve hurt Qi Xiaotian?

With the new knowledge, the parallels between qi Xiaotian and Sun Wukong are startling easy to spot.)
