So hey, giant season 5 plot hole I just noticed: if Ava was able to just pop down to hell and bring Astra back with her using John’s own spell, why didn’t John just do that in the first place? Seems like it would be a lot easier to time travel back to Astra’s childhood, drink some demon goo, poof down to hell and grab Astra than putting together the entire Loom of Fate.
(Obviously that would have timeline problems but John doesn’t actually care.)
Anyway, this is probably just sloppy writing but I’m going to personally believe that this is all just because Ava Sharpe is superior to John Constantine in every possible way.
I know the Zelda Timeline is hardly the most popular thing out there, but for me, it's always been endlessly fascinating. Everything is the same. It's all different. It's linear. It's cyclical. It branches and twists and comes back together. It disregards its predecessors. It can't let them go. It thrashes against change. It can't stay the same.
Every game is a reboot.
But they're also not.
I think the story of The Legend of Zelda is the epitome of narrative doublethink. In order to truly buy in, you must accept the simultaneous facets that none of the games matter to one another and that they all do. They're the same story. They're absolutely not.
The thing about the timeline, to me, by being both codified and nebulous, is what ties this cow tools of a narrative together. It's a puzzle without a box. It's total fucking nonsense, but so is reality. Things won't ever truly make sense, but what if they did. What if we took it from a new angle and... hmm. No. That won't work
Or maybe...
Ultimately, the Zelda Timeline is quite simply a farcical creative writing prompt. A dare. A challenge. To take these pieces not designed to fit together and give them order. Do the writers themselves care? Absolutely not. I do, though. So fuck it.
The funniest thing that ever happened in Linked Universe is still the time that Legend asked Twilight what kind of animal he would want to have the ability to transform into in order to try to confirm his suspicions that he’s been the wolf that’s been following them around and/or get him to admit it in front of everyone, but instead of giving the answer he expected Twilight starts gushing about goats
I don't have anything for my birthday so here's a LONG overdue post of my contribution to the PLA @cecilioque fan sticker collab back in September. Thanks again for everything. 🩵
I don't understand the Yona hate. All of Yona's lines are like "Hi, Sidon's very best super extra special friend, I hope that you and I can be the same kind of super special friend. The three of us should do things together." She is literally telling you that Sidon has two hands and so does she.
The TotK gameplay was awesome but I still think they should have taken MY idea and shown 30 seconds of footage of Link petting a dog and then ended the stream.
I feel like it’s slightly problematic that the first 3 women on Legends all have an uncontrollable bloodlust problem.
Sara’s still dealing with her shit season 1 and then there’s the whole Death Totem situation. Kendra cannot control her hawk powers early season 1 to the point where she and Sara have to train together to work on not murdering everyone. Amaya comes back season 3 having completely lost control of her totem and gone on a murderous rampage (and she needs Nate’s help to fix it, which… eesh).
And then Zari almost mass-murders Salem (pun intended) when her rage/totem combo get away from her.
Meanwhile, all of the men except Mick keep their cool (pun intended again) and their out of control moments are stuff like falling in love or stealing stuff.
One of the things about LOK that makes no sense is the United Forces army. Like what the actual fuck? Is this supposed to be a UN type situation of intergovernmental peacekeeping troops?? Because that’s the only way it would make sense to have fucking prince of the fire nation, General Iroh be leading the army. Also Bumi is not from the United Republic. Also ALSO the fact that there’s a whole ass United Republic and the show only ever talks about or shows Republic City. Like what?? That makes no motherfucking sense I’m sorry
As far as the op run goes, I literally only went to Jubilife when forced to by the plot. 99% of my time was spent grinding levels in the wilderness. I have never willingly gone into the players house.
