This is an early 2000s movie starring Dominique Swain, Brad Renfro (RIP), Mischa Barton, Lacey Chabert and Bijou Phillips.

Sidenote – I've always really liked Bijou Phillips. Please refer to the music video at the end.

Sidenote: I have that single.

Other sidenote: I just discovered she’s married to Danny Masterson and eeeeek

This movie is weird.  It's very grainy and the colouring is very dark.  I'm not sure why they've made that choice – it looks very gritty and these very pretty people don't look as pretty as they should. It's weird.

Plot:

So we're in New York at this exclusive school with a bunch of rich arseholes.

Kat (Dominique Swain) and Delilah (Bijou Phillips) are best friends.  Delilah is a bit of a wild child.  In our introduction to her, she gets her dog to go down on her.  This old lady was a bit taken aback, let me tell you.

Kat likes Brad Renfro, who is a fucking dick. She's kind of young and naïve and does not realise when she's being used, or who her true friends are. Delilah might be a bit mental but she's very much Team Kat.

Delilah gets expelled from their fancy school for something (I forget what), so Kat buddies up with Mischa Barton and her British accent, and this other chick who is a total bitch.  They shoplift and take drugs, they go to parties and generally act like privileged assholes.

One thing leads to another and Kat hooks up with Brad Renfro after "prom" (I think it was a prom of some description). She ends up taking drugs and getting drunk, and when Brad Renfro is awoken in the morning, he and another guy find her unresponsive in bed, and their answer is to carry her body to the trash chute and attempt to throw her down it – BUT thankfully she wakes up. And seems to have no idea what they were about to do to her.

It is reprehensible and a major red flag for Brad Renfro's character, let me tell you.

He then tells all of her "friends" that they had sex, she bled all over the bed and there was blood on the walls. A real prince, this guy.  He also tells them about her secret confession to him, that she's part Jewish, and this is grounds enough to shun her.

Like, the anti-Semitism came out of nowhere and took me very much by surprise.

Because nobody is talking to her and she's now a social pariah, she wants to reconcile with Delilah but Delilah is in the Hamptons with the rest of the rich crowd.  So Kat heads up there with Lacey Chabert's character, they make-up and fix their friendship and all is good between them.  Then Delilah heads off through the woods to find someone to give them a lift where she encounters Brad Renfro's character, they argue, he pushes her over and she hits her head on a rock, and when she tells him that she's going to call the police, he murders her.

And that’s the movie.

Honestly, I don't know what the point of this movie was, but I know Delilah didn't deserve to die and also, everyone is horrible and money makes people terrible.

anyway it’s your favorite el back with her muses !! this one is very very strongly due to the amazing mod blue who gave me the strongest muse vibes when they told me about bijou!!! so i absolutely suggest you read @bijoudelez​ intro because it will give you a lot of details about lacey and her relationship with bijou ( arguably her most important relationship )

- lacey was born into a poor family similar to bijou. her mother died when she was young and her father was heavily involved in drug trafficking, and, after leaving her with a large sum of money when she was sixteen, left her to fend of herself. 

- she met a friend who introduced her to the life of being an escort — which is how she cultivated a greater wealth. she could afford things she dreamed of before, lots of luxurious outfits and tickets to the biggest parties in the state, parties full of mafia workers

- but lacey fell into really bad habits, she had a reliance on drinking and drugs that she was supplied from the people she worked with, and when bijou came to live with her, she tried to make it better and it worked for awhile – until things got bad. 

- one night her drinking got so bad and the drug habit became too much when masked men took everything from bijou and lacey, and she couldn’t believe what had happened. after this experience, she cut herself off from being an escort and instead is a waitress ( very twin peaks inspired there ! )

anyway i’d love for all connections from old clients / friends / anything !! as far as mafia involvement — she’s definitely had clients in the mafia and i’m sure she has some feelings but probably will avoid anything dangerous

Goodbye Lacey.

Thank you so much @galakzee​ for Lacey 🥺 I’ve loved her since day 1, and she was always a top favorite of mine. Personally she had my favorite entrance on the premiere, and I loved the energy she brought. Gian would have been a lucky man indeed to have her ;__; I’m gonna mISS HER.

In the end the final two did become clear to me when I was working on the double elimination episode (or the episode where jan’s parents popped up) I kinda saw where the cards were falling in terms of the fan favorites, and the final 2 were always going to be decided by a poll. And I was right. Dreama and Savannah were tied for almost the whole duration of said poll.

Which means Lacey was unfortunately the next to go. :( I’ll miss her dearly.

Narrator: Well Matilda’s disdain for Gian has led to them and Lars silently playing SimsKart. Thankfully Lacey and her friends are keeping us on our toes! I assumed Bijou wasn’t her real last name but another case of a fake name? And that it went this long without being mentioned. Impressive. I do believe Kari is right however, there are some deeper things she and Gian must need to talk about. We are going to continue to ignore the fan pages however. Well, she’ll have some time to think on that. When we come back the group is off to Geekcon!
