Note
what would Ben's beast form look like if he had one?
Probably a lot like his dad's form but just smaller/less bulky.
That or more akin to the Beast in the 2014 French version
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His Descendants beast look just seems to have a similar feline/leonid aspect

If perhaps less budget behind it 😅

Léa Seydoux and Vincent Cassel for Premiere Magazine
this was for la belle et le bête (2014) promotions; whoever decided on the concept for this photoshoot in particular deserves to be knighted...also to my fellow monster admirers who enjoy batb adaptations: you *have* to watch this one. the visuals for beast are utterly stunning.

Sally forth, tally ho, let's kill this double feature at last! Jasmine, River, Sam, Ilana, Bryan, and Kyle come together again to discuss the 2014 version of La Belle et La Bete and we all ask incredibly important questions such as whether it was worth sparing Mickey Mouse's life for this movie, dear GOD who thought copying that one Mountain Dew Commercial with those puppy monkey babies was a good idea, why are we making so many Batman references, and most importantly, why bother doing a Beauty and the Beast retelling if you don't care about the romance?

I haven’t seen Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast but I just saw 2014′s La Belle et la Bête and I’m willing to say it’s a better live-action Beauty and the Beast than Disney’s.
It’s a beautiful movie, I saw it in English and loved it but I’m willing to bet that in French is an even better film, whatever language you choose I highly recommend checking it out.
However, before you run off to do just that I do want to make one thing very clear, and in the process kinda defend the movie cause yeah i like it enough to defend it, but this is not Disney’s Beauty and the Beast! This is a much more mature, darker, more, I would say, sensual/sexual telling of this fairytale. Like there’s a scene where the Beast is eating some fresh kill and he’s tearing at it with his teeth like an animal would do and Belle sees him and is horrified and she runs off, and he runs after her, slams her to the ground, pins her beneath his body, both of them panting as he tells her to tell him again that he disgusts her as he leans in to kiss her (before the ice breaks and she almost drowns). I don’t recommend showing this movie to kids btw.
Point is, this has nothing to do with our favorite capitalist mouse. So, if you go into this expecting it to be Disney-esque, and romantic in the sweet way with scenes like the Beast having to learn how to use a fork you’re gonna find yourself disappointed and might possibly not even like the film.
However, if you’re open to a darker, more mature interpretation of this tale with gorgeous dresses and beautiful cinematography where the romance comes in a I’m tempted to say gothic romance type of way then, once again, I recommend checking this film out.
(and before somebody throws a fit and says i need to watch Disney’s before i can cast judgement or whatever i am planning to extremely, massively reluctantly, do so...but i’m positive my opinion is gonna remain the same in Belle’s dresses alone this one kicks Disney in the ass)
