Being in a relationship with Gaoh Ryuki...
Tumblr media
( Disclaimer: This is going to have darker tones to it, Reader is from the Inside, and well... We know how awful the inside is, especially for women :) )
Y/N smiled passively, listening to music loud enough to tune out the world as she walked to Yamashita-san's company. As usual, she managed to successfully skip class, so she decided to have her lunch with the old man, whom she sees close to a father figure. Needless to say, though she was so young, she felt the most at home around the old CEO, his secretaries and all the Kengan Fighters, since very young, when she first got involved in the Underground world.
Fixing her cute summer dress, she knocked on the door of his office, and entered. "Yo, Yamashita-san, I brought my famous bento lunch! Let's eat together today!" she spoke cheerfully, only to freeze upon making eye contact with a familiar face. Though she wasn't greeted by the manager himself, she saw her classmate, Koga, bored out of his mind and rather frustrated. She wanted to laugh in his face - She almost couldn't believe he finally managed to get himself in relation to the Underground after so long; But what caught her attention was that brunet man, looking absent-minded. "OH MY GOD, OHMA, YOU'RE ALIVE!" she squealed cheerfully, the lunch pack falling to the ground as she jump-hugged the man, holding him tightly. "I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! I KNEW YOU COULDN'T BE DEAD! I KNEW IT! YOU'RE TOO STRONG TO DIE, OHMA!" the man didn't speak a word, bewildered, but unable to voice any kind of protest out of shock and confusion. Koga was long since forgotten, yet it was Yamashita Kazuo who cleared her throat, and in the gentlest voice, called out to Y/N. "Y/N... I'm sorry, that's not Ohma. Look again." Y/N froze, and in that moment, the stranger placed his hands gently on her shoulders, pulling her at arms' length, so she could take a better look at his face - Indeed, that wasn't Ohma, but by hell, he looked like they could be twins, or at least a younger brother. "Oh no... You're right... You're not Ohma... But you look so much like him... But you're a bit shorter, and your body isn't as buffed up. Even your hair is a little longer and lighter in shade. Your eyes too... They are dark, but gentler. I should have known better... You couldn't be Tokita Ohma's younger brother by any chance, can you?" she tried, but the boy shook his head, earning a sigh from her. "Sorry to disappoint, miss, but I hope you see this Ohma again some day. My name is Gaoh Ryuki, and I'm here to become a Kengan fighter." Y/N looked up at him, unable to break eye contact, and she smiled. "Yeah, I can see that, alright. You are going to fit very well in this matches. I can feel these things, y'know?" she giggled playfully - Not only was she sure any person with the last name 'Gaoh' would be an excellent fighter, but a survivor of the Inside like himself was sure to make it big in an underground fighting arena. "My name is Y/N L/N, it's lovely meeting you, Ryuki. And I'm sorry again for mistaking you for someone else, that was unnecessarily rude of me."
"Hey, are you just going to ignore me?!" Koga's voice made both Y/N and Ryuki look at him. "How'd you get here, anyway?!" "Question is, how did YOU get here." Y/N chuckled teasingly. "I've been associated with the Kengan Association since I was 10 years old. I have to say, it was rather hilarious seeing you stumble around, trying to find your way to the underground. Gave me quite the laughter." "Wh-What?! How could you -- Hey, why didn't you tell me?! You knew how much I wanted to get in the underground!" Koga frowned, stomping in front of her like a little brat throwing a tantrum. "Why? I think that's obvious, isn't it?" Y/N gave him a wicked smirk, completely shocking the boy, who only knew her as that kind and sweet girl who could do no harm. "It's because you would die the second you stepped inside the arena!" she laughed mockingly at him. "There's no way someone like you, as you are now, could POSSIBLY compete with those MONSTERS!" she turned around properly, stepping in front of him, dangerously close, as if to provoke him. "In fact - You couldn't even defeat ME, let alone an actual fighter!" "What the heck, Y/N, are you trying to challenge me to a fight or what?!" based on her impish, mischievous smirk, the short-tempered boy only got angrier. Before he even got the chance to react, however, he found himself being thrown into the shelf, the whole world rotating aggressively with him. "Yes. I was challenging you. If you can't even react fast enough to defend yourself against a girl, you stand no chance, Koga. You have to gain experience and train properly if you ever want to make a proper debut." Koga seemed to be mumbling, pissed off but unable to protest after what happened. The poor manager was freaking out a little, concerned for the silver haired boy's well-being. "Well, Y/N, Koga is now Yamashita Co.'s apprentice, so he won't fight in an official match any time soon. As you said, he needs to get prepared. As for Ryuki, he is going to become an official fighter." the old man spoke in his usual gentle voice. "Sounds about right. Where does Ryuki stay?" it might seem like a peculiar question, but the old manager knew very well the reason behind it. "Both Ryuki and Koga are staying over at my place." he explained simply. "How about that. Ryuki, would you like to stay over at my place? I bet it gets rather crowded at the old man's place." Ryuki looked attentively in the sly girl's eyes, and he could easily pick up on the undertone behind her proposal. With a quick look at the old man, seeking approval, Ryuki smiled innocently and agreed.
Y/N didn't wait to hear Koga's yells of protest, for she hooked her arm to Ryuki's and guided him out of there, enjoying a nice walk all the way to her home.
"What is it that you wanted to speak with me?" Y/N smiled, hearing his words. "Ah, pretty AND smart, I like it." she chuckled leisurely. "I know you're from the Inside - Surely, you know that about myself also. I didn't want to reveal it in front of Koga, he doesn't get these things. He is too... Innocent." "I noticed." he nodded his head. "Have you gotten out of the Inside recently?" she asked softly, and he affirmed. "Did you have anyone to teach you how to read and write?" he shook his head. "And do you want to?" "I suppose that could be useful." he shrugged his shoulders absent-minded. "I got adopted when I was 10 years old, and we escaped. Mum was super smart, and she started studying and became a CEO. Dad became her fighter. I had the privilege of leading a rather beautiful life for the second half of my life." soon, they arrived in front of a large mansion, with a beautiful flower garden and an outside pool. Ryuki could only stare, mesmerised at the lush opulence displayed before him. "Please, make yourself at home. Dad's going to love you." "Y/N... This is really too much." Ryuki mumbled, feeling a little uncomfortable. "I know, it took a while to get used to it - For all of us - But, you know... We deserve it, after what we've gone through, don't you think?" the boy looked at her with a small yet appreciative smile. He couldn't say that he went through that many atrocious things to begin with, but he wasn't blind to the suffering of the others who hadn't the privilege of being adopted by a man to care for them and teach them how to fight. He couldn't imagine what Y/N went through, but at least now, she was fine.
✩ Here, at your home, you taught Ryuki how to read and write.
✩ You often hung around with him and Koga for pubs, restaurants, shopping and what not - Though obviously, Y/N paid for everything, as she was the only one actually earning money to begin with.
✩ Though Ryuki needn't glasses, he got a fashion pair, and you thought he looked adorable.
✩ Also, you loved buying him all the most ridiculous and cute Tshirts and sweaters.
✩ He even agreed to have matching outfits!
✩ You could completely understand why he spoke so freely about killing, and his lack of remorse - You were the same, and unfortunately, you always end up indulging him, without realising.
✩ Life on the Inside left a powerful mark on both of your lives, and even though you left that place physically, a part of you will always be affected by the time spent there, fending for yourselves.
✩ It wasn't until Himuro pointed it out to you, that you realised your lack of care of the life of others wasn't exactly normal behaviour.
✩ You, Himuro and Ryuki ended up pairing up, while Kaneda took Koga to Seki's Wrestling arena, to train.
✩ When the Kengan vs Purgatory Tournament was announced, you assigned your Dad to be one of the original fighters, along with Gaolang and Dad's best friend, Wakatsuki.
✩ You could tell that Ryuki was being just polite with you, at least at the beginning - There was a shallowness and emptiness to his smile, but with time, and your mutual hatred for the Worms, you started feeling some trust in one another.
✩ You cheered for him when he went to fight Jose in the wrestling ring, and even kissed his cheek as a victory prize, to which he smiled like a cute puppy getting a treat.
✩ You were impressed with his way of explaining the footwork game to Koga, and played the referee for them - It was easy for you to understand Ryuki's words, and even wanted to play with him yourself, it looked like a lot of fun, though Koga was getting a little frustrated.
✩ He couldn't understand Ryuki as well as you did, and you often had to translate it in easier words for him.
✩ Koga took Ryuki shopping again, and though he tried to get him to adopt a super cool street style, well, Ryuki definitely preferred something more comfortable and cute.
✩ Ryuki even admitted to you that it was rather fun hanging out with Koga once in a while, though he was a little weird.
✩ When the two boys were taken to the Purgatory to explore a little, you refused to go, out of sheer ego and arrogance.
✩ Over the time, Ryuki began confessing to you about his active effort in eliminating the Worms, and you supported him whole-heartedly; They had to be eliminated forever.
✩ This time, however, Koga witnessed his killing, and Ryuki couldn't understand why he was to upset and angry at him - Didn't he know how evil the Worms are?
✩ You try to explain to him that Koga is completely unfamiliar with the way the Inside works, and even the Underground, and that he shouldn't take it too heart, he'll get over it eventually.
✩ You even tried to talk to Koga, but he outright refused to listen to anything you said in Ryuki's defense.
✩ When you heard that Ryuki's proper employment match was against Akoya, you shuddered in deep fear and tried to reason with Yamashita, but there was nothing he could do.
✩ You told Ryuki about how much of a psychopath monster Akoya is, and how terrifying he can get, but he only smiled brightly at you, kissing your cheek and reassuring you that he'll win - For you.
✩ You have no idea when you started caring so much for Ryuki, but watching him getting brutalized by Akoya made your eyes sting with forming tears, and your heart was aching, the same way as when you watched Cosmo getting tortured by him.
✩ When you saw Ryuki stopping himself from delivering a killing blow, despite being mounted, on the ground, and vulnerable, you realised that Koga's words affected him so much that he allowed himself to get hit until he lost consciousness.
✩ "LEAVE HIM ALONE, AKOYA!" you yelled at him, jumping over the gate and grabbing his wrist as Paula the referee announced the match over. Thankfully, Katahara's bodyguards were there to aid you in stopping that psycho from killing Ryuki.
✩ You immediately knelt by Ryuki's side, helping him stand, and took a handkerchief to wipe away the blood caking his face, before pulling him into an embrace, his face cradled to your soft chest.
✩ If it weren't for the blood on his face, he would have blushed at the proximity.
✩ After the fight, you allowed him and Koga to make up, all alone, though you remained with Yamashita and Kaede, lowkey spying on them, happy that they were finally getting better.
✩ For the next month until the Purgatory fight, you watched Ryuki train in your courtyard, sometimes sparring with your Dad and getting better and better with each fight.
✩ And your Dad ended up liking his so much, that they have a Father-Son relationship of sorts, which almost gets you jealous. Just kidding, they are adorable.
✩ It was the first time you told someone of your Mum's tragic death, and how you had to take over as the CEO at barely 13 years of age; Though your Dad took it the hardest, and never recovered from the loss.
✩ You told him how you were an orphan at first and how you have no idea how you survived until the age of 5 in the worst district known to mankind, Rikuko, before a mafioso kidnapped you, trafficked you and pimped you out until the age of 10, when one of the newer prostitutes along with a client rescued you and took you as their own, with the wish of escaping this hell.
✩ It wasn't an easy escape, and you continued being in danger until you stepped foot over the custom line - And even then, you lived in poverty until your Mum's smarts and Dad's prowess landed you with a whole goldmine and a life of luxury.
✩ You even admitted to Ryuki only that you're still actually afraid of sleeping by yourself, and you don't feel safe even in your own home, despite the guards on the premises.
✩ Since then, Ryuki offered to sleep in the same room with you.
✩ Initially, he wanted to sleep on the ground, unable to look at your beautiful body wearing only a thin and short nightgown.
✩ When you pull him to bed and cuddle with him though, he's completely lost in the warmth and holds you to his chest without any seconds thoughts.
✩ Sleeping together like this becomes more natural for you than anything else.
✩ Sometimes, when he thinks you're asleep, he'll whisper sweet things into your ear, or play with your hair absent-minded, or kiss your forehead; All these things calm him down so much, though he doesn't know why.
✩ Your Dad always jokes about how cute you two are together, and how you'll end up getting married soon.
✩ You have cute dates just strolling around the park, enjoying a coffee at the cafe, or rollerblading around idly.
✩ Or, at night, he'd show you fun 'games' that his grandpa used to help him train, and considering the Gaoh style is more or less proclaimed a coward style, Ryuki thought it would be useful for you to learn, in case you got attacked and needed a quick escape.
✩ When you were told that Yamashita and Koga got attacked and the boy was in hospital, you quickly took the car and drove that way, only for the door to swing open and see, this time, the real Ohma.
✩ "OHMA!" the same as with Ryuki, you jumped on Ohma, this time, 100% sure it was the real one. The man patted your head, smiling down at you - He knew how much you missed him, even though you only met during the Kengan Annihilation Tournament, but with the amount of times he saved you from Rihito's harassing, he became as good as your elder brother. Not to mention, you always cheered and bet on his fights, especially after he destroyed Raian.
✩ Though, the pyscho Kure devil was also fun to hang around, but even better to tease - Yet it always backfired tenfold.
✩ Despite how friendly you were with the two fighters, Ryuki couldn't stand how they were telling Koga to give up on the idea of joining the competition - You had to agree with them though, despite how much he's worked out in the past half a year, he was still nowhere near the level of the veteran legends of the Kengan Annihilation Tournament, which represented most of the roster to begin with.
✩ Both you and Raian had to point out, more or less, that Ohma simply meant he couldn't participate for the moment, especially with all those injuries, and Narushima seemed rather emboldened by it.
✩ Ryuki was in a gloomy mood the whole night though, and you couldn't snap him out of it until you were sent to the island where the Tournament was taking place.
✩ You were so happy to see most of your old friends again, and made sure to have nice conversations with all of them, especially with Misasa, with whom you shared a fighting style. Small and cute people like you had to defend yourselves somehow!
✩ Of course, for the first fight, everyone had to argue amongst themselves on who the should go first - Poor Gaolang got so pissed that he simply went on ahead to calm the waters.
✩ His shameless defeat shook you to the core, and you ended up protesting loudly at how unfair it was, playing by the weakling rule of a ringout.
✩ You hugged Gaolang tightly, reassuring him that he was the real winner in the Kengan's eyes.
✩ Next, that German Powerhouse of meat, Julius, won against Pineapple Head.
✩ Your favourite fight, however, was Misasa's, whom you nicknamed Ken, and you were Barbie the CEO. Not only was it fun to watch him fight, but he completely humiliated that traitor for betraying not only Kengan, but Katahara especially.
✩ The next fighter was Naidan, a Mongolian fighter, who coincidentally was also a White Worm, who directly provoked Ryuki into fighting him.
✩ Not only you, but your Dad also, tried to warn the boy to keep his wits about him and not lose his mind over revenge; Hopefully, he will be fine.
✩ Koga also got in the stands next to you, to get a better view of the fight, though all of you were on the edge.
✩ Naidan was, unfortunately, far stronger than Ryuki, and no matter how much the boy wanted to hold back from killing, to keep his promise to Koga... He had to get serious, otherwise, he would just end up dead.
✩ Naidan was provoking and confusing Ryuki so bad, to the point of him losing his mind - Though he started attacking faster, he completely disregarded his own safety.
✩ Just like in the fight with Akoya, Ryuki ended up on the ground, mounted and roughly strangled to the point of almost fainting.
✩ Though he wanted, even to the bitter end, to keep away from killing - Naidan forced him to kill him.
✩ Ryuki was devastated and lost completely.
✩ You were the first to run over to Ryuki, shamelessly kicking Naidan's corpse from above him, before falling to the ground and grabbing Ryuki in a tight embrace, telling him everything was going to be okay and that it wasn't his fault. It was self-defense. Koga agreed with you also, once he got over.
✩ You were so angry on Ryuki's behalf, that when Liu tried to attack him, you immediately leapt to your feet and deflected his punch, cursing at him and telling him to get the hell away from you.
✩ Thankfully, Ohma and the others came by also, taking over for you so you could return to Ryuki.
✩ During Agito's match against yet another filthy Worm, you and Koga tried, and failed, to comfort Ryuki.
✩ In the end, Ryuki asked to be left alone for a while, and you could do nothing but watch as he left the arena, into a dark corridor, to sulk all alone.
✩ Raian's fight was next, and you found yourself laughing almost hysterically as he split his Wu opponent in two. Poor Koga looked at you like you had mental problems.
✩ Meguro's supposed brother, Hayami Masaki, went on to win the next match against one of the two Kings of the Purgatory, Jurota, yet you had no clue that Ryuki ended up getting corrupted by none other than Kiryu Setsuna, whom you thought long dead.
✩ Akoya's match against Nicolas ended up in a draw, and unfortunately, Nitoku lost just like Gaolang, over a stupid Ringout, against that emotional idiot Liu Dongcheng.
✩ At least Naoya, wearing a clown outfit, won against Terashi... Though, you still couldn't quite understand why he was wearing such a ridiculous get-up to begin with.
With three more matches to go, Ryuki finally decided to return, all but bewitched by Setsuna's magic, yet just in time to say his good wishes to your Dad fighting; He had no idea why you looked so angry though.
"You will NOT be fighting now! Let Tsuki-san fight! Let Ohma fight! They won't lose their mind in a fight, but you WILL!" you yelled at your father. It was the first time anyone ever heard you raising your voice. "Sorry, honeybunch, but I gotta. Ain't no way I'm letting that fucker humiliate you like that." your Dad kept his back at you, cracking his knuckled. "TO HELL WITH HUMILIATION, SOME WORDS DON'T HURT ME ANYMORE! HE'S GOING TO KILL YOU, YOU MORON! WHAT AM I GONNA DO WITHOUT YOU?!" everyone in the Kengan arena watched as you kept screaming at your father, while he could only glare at the ugly bastard waiting and taunting him in the ring. "N'aww, cutie, why you got so little faith in me? Your mum woulda be much more encouraging." he chuckled dryly. "No, mum would have slapped your face for being so fucking dumb, that's what she'd've done!" you gripped the back of his shirt, trying to budge him. "I am the CEO! I am directly FORBIDDING you from stepping into the ring!" Your father hung his head, remaining silent for a few seconds. "Yo, Wakatsuki. When my little babygirl marries Ryuki, won'tcha be walkin' her down the aisle for me?" the poor man looked with extreme confusion and bewilderment at his friend. "I think you should be doing that yourself, friend." Takeshi replied. "He's saying that because this dumbass KNOWS he has every chance of getting provoked into a blind rage and getting himself killed!" your frustrated scream only shocked those around you. "Mama's really lonely up there, y'know? And I miss her like hell. Someone's gotta keep her company." your grip fell lax, and you felt your body grow cold and unresponsive. "What about me, then? Are you going to leave me all alone? Am I not your child? What about me?!" you felt tears streaming down your cheeks silently. "WHAT ABOUT ME?!" "My only happiness in life was your mother, and seeing you grow in the beautiful and intelligent young lady that you are. You're gonna be safe now." he started stepping towards the ring. "Forgive me, Y/N."
✩ You remained completely absent from everything around you, almost like you were all alone, in another dimension, forced to watch your father being massacred by the very mafioso who destroyed your early childhood. His looks could resemble Alan Wu after Raian ripped him apart.
✩ Ryuki's heart ripped in two, finally brought back to reality by the raw shriek of anguish, and the distraught expression on your face as you violently ripped and tugged away at your gorgeous velvety hair.
✩ When the mafioso dares speak ill of your father for being weak, and even throwing crass and improper comments on your child-body, not only Ryuki, but Wakatsuki also, wanted to beat the crap out of him - But you were faster.
✩ All spectators gasped as you took out a dagger holding your hair in a pretty updo, and with perfect Silat and Systema moves, you hacked away at the evil-doer, slashing away at his flesh, digging into his chest, ripping him apart, stabbing his skull, until he reverted into nothing but mush and porridge. People were screaming at the murder taking place for a fourth time before their eyes, and not the referee, or the fighters could hold you down.
✩ Ryuki was the only one capable of prying you away from that monster, and even though he tried to hold you into his arms, like you always did for him, you were on such high alert that you pushed him away, yelling at him not to touch you.
✩ Koga followed after you, and though he tried to reprimand you for slaughtering a man, his heart was also broken, having finally found out your story, and understanding now why you always took Ryuki's side and excusing his murders.
✩ When you got home, you cried the whole night and there was nothing Ryuki could do, except stay there with you, making sure you didn't feel afraid, all alone, in such a huge mansion. He, too, mourned your father's death, having gotten close to him over the course of time.
✩ "Ryuki... Do you want to be my company's fighter? I don't want to ever lose you. Not you too." he agreed.
✩ After the Kengan vs Purgatory Tournament, Ryuki joined Setsuna and Akoya in defeating the Worms, while you supported them with funds and information.
✩ Since then, you contacted Misasa, Retsudo and Rolon so that all three of you could teach you their own variations of Silat, as it was the best fighting style for you.
✩ When the Berserker Bowl took place, you cheered on Ryuki all the time - Though you were shocked when he ultimately lost against Koga.
✩ That wasn't the big issue though. What hurt the most was that... Rihito won. There is no atrocity in life bigger than Rihito winning anything in life. Useless man with ugly shorts.
✩ With this loss, Ryuki had a revelation, amidst a lot of confusion - He completely severed ties with Setsuna, and decided to speak to you, Ohma and Yamashita, about going by himself to the Inside, to have a talk with his grandfather. Too many of his convictions got shaken up in the few months spent Outside, and he needed to get some questions answered.
✩ Albeit reticent and afraid, you gave him the blessing of going.
✩ As reassurance, Ryuki kissed your lips for the first time, promising you that, when he returns, he will ask you out.
✩ Though you and Koga waited and waited, the Summer ended, and Ryuki hadn't come back. Naturally, you began to worry, so you created a small party to get to the Inside and rescue him, including Ohma, Retsudo, Himuro and Rei.
✩ Ryuki's GPS tracker stopped somewhere around Rohza district - Not the worst, but not the best place to live either. That place, however, wasn't a district anymore, but a contested place for a turf war by all sides, as every minute, the borders of the districts keep changing and changing actively.
✩ Both Ohma and you explained to Yamashita how dangerous it is to live in the Inside, and that not even people living there would dare cross districts through that place, and instead, take cautious steps through the Outside.
"So you're going through Rohza? That's a good choice." Kushida Rin spoke, once the four of you returned to Yamashita's office. "Rohza and Hachio are the more relatively safe parts of the Inside, but you'd have to go through Goyu to get to the disputed territory through Hachio." though she got a little flustered when Kaede mentioned how well versed she is about the geography of that god-forsaken place. It seems she wasn't aware Rin was also from there. "How about Rikuko?" Koga asked innocently. "THAT'S PLACE IS HELL ON EARTH! NEVER EVER GET EVEN CLOSE TO IT!" Rin shrieked, visibly shaken up. "... That was my home for 10 years." you bit your lip, shivering softly just remembering that place. "There are no words to describe that place. I bet even Hell is a kinder place than Rikuko. I home it gets burnt to the ground, along with all the people living there. No, rather, all those fucking monsters." Koga looked at your disturbed and disgusted face, and felt a tremor of sheer fright go down his spine.
✩ You reached the huge wall separating the Outside with the Inside, and felt your heart covering with a blanket of ice and numbness, seeing the destruction and desolation of this place. You never wanted to return to this place, but Ryuki needed saving, and you couldn't abandon him.
✩ You got to the Black Market, and followed the safest route that Retsu's men could scout, but before, you took lodging in a dilapidated place, provided by the General himself.
✩ Instead of going to eat with Ohma and Koga, you remained with the others, and though you couldn't find the power to speak much, you went through packs of cigarettes to try and sooth your stress. You didn't.
✩ Himuro especially expressed his worry for your helped, but you simply smirked and showed him you just puffed them as a bad fixation habit.
✩ When those two returned, Koga explained that Setsuna visited them and told them some info about Ryuki and Mukaku's safe houses and what not. When you told Koga that you were well aware that Ryuki continued to kill Worms with him, he got frustrated, grabbing yours shoulders and shaking you, screaming at you for allowing him to murder.
✩ You simply punched him away, not wanting to bother with explanations.
✩ The next morning after breakfast, the General sent a lackey to call them over, and he asked for one of the party to defeat one of his men, to see if you deserve an escort.
✩ Without a second thought, you stepped forwards, ready to face the hulky man with swirly tattoos.
✩ The only one to protest was Koga, but Retsu shut him up.
"I'm far too angry to pretend I'm an innocent little princess. I'm here to rescue my boyfriend and return home, with all the party members intact and in good shape. So, let's get it over with, shall we?"
✩ You took out your dagger and played around with it, before going to attack the large man holding a knife.
✩ Of course, you were in a playful mood, so like a cat playing with its prey, you confused him with a few good side-steps, before placing the tip of your dagger to his neck artery. "Should I kill you, or do you surrender?"
✩ The general stopped the fight, offering you your guide as he watched you high-fiving the other men in your party who praised your techniques.
✩ The Nameless Guide guided you through the Underground, through the Second Layer, and when descending back to the surface, they were brought to a path that led to a temple.
✩ Out of nowhere, an old man with a large meat cleaver attacked Ohma - He looked incredibly hostile, claiming you were Worms - Koga had to clear up the misunderstanding, though you could smell the bullshit. The old man was a shit liar, and the others seemed to be sensing the same.
✩ He claims Ryuki dropped by about a week prior, but he wasn't around anymore. Somehow, you couldn't believe him. Though he doesn't know where he could be, he explained that Ryuki is indispensable to the Worm, as both him and Ohma are clones of the Connector.
✩ When Himuro's phone beeped, you took out your cigarette pack and followed him and Retsudo outside of the temple, voicing your concerns of the blatant truth avoidance.
✩ You pointed out your belief that Mukaku might have attacked Ohma, thinking it was Ryuki - But why would he attack the child he raised?
✩ When you returned to the temple, Mukaku told you a story of his youth, of him getting in the inside, taking the many Niko as his students, how the Worms made the Inside, the Gu Chamber Ritual, and how during the field trip to Gakigahara Forest, the Nikos ended up killing each other as two of them defected to the Worm side. Ohma's Master, Tokita Niko, was the only one left.
✩ He went on to say that, after attacking a Worm base, he found baby Ryuki and took him under his wing.
✩ Koga got all chummy with the old man, cutting log and wrestling around. Ohma and Himuro kept trying to find any lie in the old man's tale, while you looked at Retsudo speaking on the phone in the distance. He, like yourself, had your doubts about Mukaku.
✩ When finally Retsu returned, he told Mukaku that his men found Ryuki and was taken into custody. The old man's reaction, as well as his shift in gaze, was enough to confirm his lies.
✩ You tried to ask the old man of Ryuki's location - Clearly, he was somewhere on the premises - But the revelation came through, that Mukaku was actually a Worm.
✩ Retsu revealed the Gaoh style is a hoax, and it was just a revived Nameless style, and that the old man was a Remnant of Wowang. Of course, he got hostile, and though dumbass Koga had to go ahead and get himself in trouble, needing rescue from Ohma, you and Retsu, followed by the dumbass boy, ran away to a storehouse where Himuro was waiting. It was the place Ryuki was kept at.
✩ Not inside the house, but underground in a cellar that stank of death, rot and decay worse than anything you've ever encountered before.
✩ Using the lighter's flame, you went on ahead, seeing the countless skeletons and rotting corpses, and all the way in the back, shackled by the wrists, a beaten up Ryuki, half-conscious, was hanging there.
✩ Though Koga's loud scream rang painfully through your ears, you rushed ahead to rescue your boyfriend. Thankfully, despite how bad he looked, his breathing and pulse were just fine.
✩ Soon, Mukaku led Ohma to the cellar after surrendering - There was nothing else he could do, he says. He explained the true purpose of Wowang, and how they wanted to kill the Connector. He also mentioned how all the bones around are the remains of all the kids who couldn't become Niko. How awful.
✩ Though a little confusing, he spoke of Shen Wulong, the Connector, being a clone of his predecessor, and how the Worm was continuing to clone to create the most perfect iteration of the Connector. Mukaku wanted to destroy all closing facilities - Apparently, all attempts at cloning Shen were failures, and with the facilities destroyed, Ryuki was the last existing clone of him.
✩ That's why he sent Ryuki to Kengan - To lure the Worm and get the chance to kill Shen Wulong.
✩ Of course, Koga's temper got the best of him, and Ohma had to hold him back from injuring himself against that beast of a man.
"Guys, forget him, he's none of our concern. Shen Wulong is going to have a lot of fun, finishing the job of killing all those worthless Wowang cockroaches. We came here for Ryuki, so let's get him to safety already." though they agreed, Ryuki, woken up, used all of his strength to cling on you and get in a sitting position, to get a chance to speak to his grandpa. "Were you... Just using me... Grandpa?" his broken voice shattered your heart. "Why else would I keep you? The only reason you're still alive today is 'cause you're the clone of the Connector - That piece of shit wants you back, no matter what. Then again, I find it hard to believe - How can a weakling like you be one of HIS clones? What a failure the last clone turned out to be." it wasn't just Koga, but Himuro also, seething with rage and cursing the old man. "I understand. You're not my grandpa anymore." Ryuki sighed, defeated and depressed, hanging his head.
Before you left, you took the opportunity to land one clean punch, breaking Mukaku's nose. "That's for breaking my boyfriend's heart." you hissed at him, before slashing at his cheek with your dagger. "And that's for hurting him." you turned your back to him, supporting your boyfriend up. "Heed my words, old man. Run away. Shen Wulong is going to massacre a weakling like you!" you laughed, taunting him and rushing the boy out of the stinking cellar.
✩ Ohma spoke his sage words, reassuring the two boys, as Retsu simply suggested to get the hell out of there already.
✩ Ryuki got the best medical treatment, and you stood by his side, next to his bed, until he was finally released.
✩ He hadn't spoken much at the beginning, but in the end, he allowed himself to cry a little, in the comfort of your arms. The betrayal had hit him hard.
✩ When you finally returned to your home, he was very clingy and didn't want to spend any moment apart from you. He was like a cute, clingy panda, just seeking your affection and attention.
✩ It was during his most vulnerable time that he first confessed how much he loves you and how grateful he is for everything you've done for him, and especially, the endless love you bore for him.
✩ Koga would continue teasing you for being so overly affectionate with each other, but you simply shrug.
✩ The three of you continue hanging around often.
✩ When you get intimate for the first time, Ryuki is very attentive, to make sure you're comfortable and not afraid of his touch - He knows very well what you went through, and wants to make sure you're feeling okay all the time.
✩ He's so gentle all the time, and he kisses you the entire time. He can't get enough of your lips.
✩ He loves missionary the most because he can take it slow, with you in his arms, amd he can suffocate you with all his love and passion, cradling your face, kissing your forehead, seeing all of your cute expressions and those sweet thrills you make for him.
✩ Ryuki's love for you is pure and innocent, and he only ever focuses on you and your pleasure.
✩ He gets off on making you feel good, and he loves taking his sweet time in bed, taking you over the edge many times.
✩ Just like your Dad predicted, Ryuki proposed pretty quickly, after he won an important match for your company - Of course, your fighter friends were present and cheered for you.
✩ That night, he told you your Dad talked to him about you and the prospect of marriage pretty often, told him about his relationship with your mum, and it inspired him to become a better man for you, worthy of becoming your husband.
✩ He doesn't know yet entirely what real life in the Outside means, but he has time to learn, and people to teach him - His most important goals were to protect you and that precious smile of yours for as long as he's alive.
✩ Though your wedding wasn't big, with many guests, it was grandiose and all of you and your dearest friends of Kengan and Purgatory were invited. Alright, maybe that's quite a lot of people actually.
✩ As promised, Wakatsuki walked you down the aisle, and with Mokichi being the priest holding the ceremony, Elena was the flower girl and the ring bearer.
✩ Koga was the best man and Sayaka was your Maid of Honour.
✩ When Ryuki saw you as a bride, he almost started shaking with emotion, a huge grin on his face and shining like a happy golden retriever - He only needed a tail to wag.
✩ He was so impatient for you to get over to him already, and since he had no idea how the ceremony was supposed to go, he kissed you before Mokichi could even say a word.
✩ You are happy.

PICK A CARD -—- In recent weeks, Atsumu has become quite interested in performing card tricks for his teammates as well as a couple of ladies. The only problem is, is that he never showed you these things, but little did you know he was just using them to courage himself to ask and impress you. Things don't go his way, though.
PAIRINGS. miya atsumu x fem!reader
WARNINGS. blushy/shy Atsumu, he's such a dork | fluff | just imagine Henmi as Kushida from Classroom of the Elite | the reader is kind of a brat LOL | the end is kinda rushed bc i wanted to finish this b4 4:00, I'll proof read later
Tumblr media
During the past few weeks, Atsumu has been fascinated with cardistry.
Each week, he performs a new card trick for a group of popular girls gossiping in the hallway or another group in the cafeteria. The volleyball fangirls that crowd around him even come to his games with a deck of cards to see what he's capable of.
The only problem is, that he never shows it to you.
It's not his obligation to show you everything; you shouldn't feel entitled merely because he does... The fact that the ace of diamonds disappeared and reappeared behind your friend Henmi's ear, a girl who appears to be smitten with him, left you feeling jealous and unwelcome.
Henmi was the type of girl who made the boy's heads turn to watch her walk to class. She wore cute pink hair clips in her bob that bounced with every spring in her stride, and she was friendly with everyone.
To be fair, you've been asked out by a few guys and had a couple of friendships, but you know you could never get matched with her.
A shade of red spreads across Henmi's pale face as she blurts out, "I think Atsumu-Kun likes me."
It was lunchtime. There was a table outside, and you, Henmi, and two of her friends sat together for lunch. A sour taste replaces the taste of chocolate in the milk you were drinking. It permeates your mouth and stops you from sucking on the straw.
Your jealousy nearly erupted. You want to tell her that you saw him perform the same trick on another cute girl later that day. You want to break her heart, but you decide against it and chew on your straw instead.
But a girl from your table speaks your mind, "sorry Henmi-Chan, but I saw him do the trick to Hosoo yesterday. He's such a player."
Possibly she spoke up out of her own jealousy, hoping for the sake of her fantasies that Henmu wouldn't become a reality.
Despite this, Henmi denies it, defending Henmu by saying, "he was really close to me. Like I thought he was about to kiss me—"
"Ah, Y/N! That's where you are, I've been looking for you everywhere," Atsumu yells from the top of the staircase, hurrying down so he could meet you at the lunch table.
There is more confusion in the girls' eyes than in yours. Why was he looking for you specifically?
Atsumu sits on the bench by your side and slides only his right leg under the table so that he may face you. An old deck of cards is pulled from the tan pockets of his school's blazer. Blush tints his cheeks, and he looks down at the cards he shuffles as he asks you, "can I show you some of the card tricks I learned?"
By removing your left leg from beneath the table, you can also face him. A giddy smile spreads across your face as you say, "I'd love to see your tricks."
Atsumu smiles, "my first trick is the classic 'pick a card, any card' trick."
The cards are split into two decks, and he hands you one to shuffle. You return them to him after you're done.
You and the girl's lunch trays and lunch boxes are scooted to the side. This is so that he can spread your deck face up and his face down in two lines on the table. He then carefully scoots the cards together and then they're shuffled together again.
"Now I'll search for your card, which is really impressive as you haven't decided what card you want."
After spreading the shuffled cards in his hand, he instructs, "pick one. It doesn't matter if it's face up or face down."
You selected the face-up king of hearts and showed it to him. He then asks for the card to be pushed back face up or face down in the spread deck of cards. You chose to place it face down.
Once again, he shuffles them, "now, all cards are either up, or down." As he places them back down and backs up like they were liable to explode, he says, "if I leave them like that, all, except one, will move to face-up."
After a minute, he spreads them slowly across the table. Your mouth dropped when you discovered most of the cards that were originally facing downwards were now facing upwards. Most.
You could see the shock on his face when three remained faced downwards.
"Um, well, shit, um..." a blush from embarrassment spreads across his face as he tries to laugh it off. "That wasn't supposed to happen."
He picks up the first card that was faced down. It was the King of spades, not your card.
He picks up the second one. It was the ace of diamonds, also not your card.
A cold sweat runs down his cheek as he picks up the final one. It was the Ace of clubs. None of these were your cards.
"Fucking shit," he cursed under his breath. The three girls that remained at the table giggle at his error, adding to his embarrassment. "I-I have another, another trick. Can I show you?"
Laughing, you replied, "You may." He was cute.
He gathers all of the cards and gulps, "it's, um, it's called the card spring. Basically, it's where all the cards fall to my other hand. See— ah shit!"
A massive gust of wind sweeps the cards in mid-performance, just as they were about to land in Atsumu's right hand. All fifty-two cards in the deck spiral westward.
At that exact moment, you could hear Atsumu's heart drop to his ass. It sounded like an anvil being dropped from twenty-five feet in the air.
"Shit," he mutters. Just as he gets up to collect them, the bell rings. When the girls return to the building, they gossip about how funny Atsumu was as they collect their trash and belongings. Henmi says goodbye to Atsumu but it passes unnoticed by him.
You stayed to help Atsumu pick up all of his cards.
The color of red was now engulfing his entire head as he spotted you picking up the Queen of Spades. "Fuck, I'm so sorry— I-I was trying to impress you and I fucked up. All the practicing I had done on some girls came to shit."
Picking up a jack and a king, you giggled, "I think many of the girls think you are interested in them. Why did you do that?"
"I dunno, maybe because they share the same qualities as you."
"And what's that?"
"That they're a girl and you're a girl," he blushed as you laughed. "I thought they could give me the courage to perform on you and ask you out. Got nervous."
Then, with his luck, it begins to rain. It began to rain on a sunny day.
The cards begin to become damp as you hurried to pick them up. Suddenly, you come across the king of hearts.
He groans, "today wasn't supposed to turn out like this. 'M sorry."
You hand him the cards and go to pick up your tray and travel to the nearest trashcan to throw out your trash. Atsumu begins to do the walk of shame as he starts to walk back to class with his head down low and his hands in his pockets.
"I'll see you tomorrow Atsumu-Kun!" You say as you pass him, reaching the building first.
"Yeah," he sighs, bummed.
Atsumu kicks himself in his mind before letting out another curse as he shuffles his cards. He's about to throw them away before he notices a smudge of blue ink on his king of hearts. It was still readable.
It reads: I'm free tomorrow! Call me if you have any trouble, or any bad luck! with a heart at the end.

humans are competitors by nature. prey and predator, to gain an advantage means for another to fall to a disadvantage. by any means, people fight their way to the top.
at the tokyo metropolitan advanced nurturing high school, classes have to fight their way to the top; they have to battle the other classes in order to graduate. class a, the highest class in each grade, is the only class able to graduate and receive the benefits of graduates— 100% guaranteed employment and college entry to any place.
however, fighting for the opportunity to be in class a was harder than everyone initially thought. those who were already in class a had a major advantage simply because they were class a.
the school’s class ranking system goes from a to d, a being the best and d being the worst. upon enrollment, you were placed in class d. in a class filled with the lowest of the low in the entire school, it was hard to rise to the top.
to most, you were inefficient just because you were class d. it was strange because everyone had flaws, yet the people in your class were deemed the ones who had it the worst.
you had classmates who would honestly fit the role of an outstanding student, such as yosuke hirata and suzune horikita, the class representatives. it made no sense for them to be in your class. they were living and walking proof that not everyone in your class was what they were made to be.
due to the standing of your class, it was hard to make friends in other classes. you weren’t sociable like kikyo kushida, and you didn’t participate in clubs you’d meet other people in like hirata. so you stuck to the people in your class, making acquaintances and friends with a few.
when you didn’t talk with them, you indulged yourself in reading, a way to relax and pass time when you weren’t doing homework. you often found yourself in the library, the place where you first met hiyori shiina.
you remember that meeting well. after all, it was the event that changed the course of your high school life.
it happened to be busy in the library that day. you first years had the paper shuffle exam soon, hence why the library was busy. students were cramming info into their brains, but what they were studying might not even help.
with other classes being the ones to make the exam questions, there was no telling what kind of content you would have to study. confident in your academic abilities and satisfied with some extra studying you did, you sat in the library for your own leisure.
you made sure to sit at the end of a table in case anyone else needed the space. you were unsure of how much time passed until a girl pulled out a chair. it was across from you and two seats away, but you could see her in your peripheral vision.
like you, she took out her own book and began to read it. though, you weren’t sure if she was actually reading it based on how she cast a glance at you every once in a while.
you placed a bookmark in your book before you met her glance. realizing she had been caught, the light-haired girl’s eyes traveled to your book.
“i noticed that you keep looking over. if you want to tell me something, then go ahead,” you told her. your words came out blunter than intended.
“o-oh,” the girl’s hands traveled to her lap, “i just noticed the book you were reading. it’s a great mystery, and the author is one of my favorites. they write splendidly.”
“you’re not wrong about how they right. i like how scattered it is, actually. it makes me think that i can read the chapters in any order and end up with the same result.”
“that was the true intention of the author, actually! this book was her final, so she wanted to write the best book she could. her wish became true because it became her best-selling novel, and it’s my favorite mystery. i’ve read it over multiple times, and i always happen to find something new!”
as this girl rambled to you, you recognized her as one of the students in class c. after seeing how most of class c acted, violent and rude, you didn’t expect to remember that this soft-spoken student would be in the same class.
you didn’t bring up the fact that you recognized her, “you know a lot about this book and the author. you must be a big fan.”
she smiled at you, “i am, yes. i love to read, and this library has become a second home to me. it’s like a whole new world to discover here. it’s unfortunate that i can barely find anyone to talk to books about. my classmates in class c, the people i am around most, don’t share the interests in books that i have. so i’m sorry for getting carried away, (l/n)-san. i tend to get really happy when talking about books!”
“don’t worry about it,” you waved your hand and smiled. “but hey, how do you know my name?”
“i happened to be standing in the hallway when ayanokouji-kun once called out to you. oh! let me first introduce myself. shiina hiyori, class c.”
hiyori’s arm stretched out so that her pale hand was right in front of you. you lifted your own hand off of the desk, shaking it with hers.
fate wasn’t something you originally believed, but meeting hiyori made you think differently. hiyori sat at the table you did before she even knew you were reading one of her favorite novels of all time. it couldn’t have been a mere coincidence.
you two left the library together and went your separate ways after reaching the lobby of the dorms. before hiyori watched you walk into the elevator, you gave her your number. simple texts turned into long conversations, long conversations into phone calls, phone calls into video calls, and so on.
there was something about the two of you that just clicked. before it even became official between the two of you, dating rumors had already spread throughout the school.
you guys often walked each other to class, ate your lunch together, and even hung out after school. it was impossible to prevent rumors after being seen together in public many times.
however, neither of you ever responded to them. some fell to believe that the two of you were already dating at that time, some thought it wasn’t true, and the rest had already forgotten about the subject.
everything would resurface on valentine’s day.
the 14th of february was quite a big deal around the school. boys and girls flocked together into different groups as if they were different cliques. pairs that were already dating took their chances to be near each other, either being thought of as cute or annoying (by those who were jealous).
you would’ve walked with hiyori to the school if it weren’t for the fact that she promised to meet with a friend before school started. so because how the two of you were in different classes, you would only see her at lunchtime.
classes ended and, immediately, people rushed into their groups. you found hirata at the other side of the classroom surrounded by girls. some of them weren’t even in your class, which made you wonder how they got here so fast.
you were already going to head to the cafeteria when kiyotaka ayanokouji, the boy you talked to sometimes because he sat behind you, spoke to you. he said, “hiyori-san is here for you.”
you cast him a glance before taking a look at the classroom door in the back. true to his word, hiyori stood there with a small bag in her hand. she was aware of everyone’s gazes, but she continued to walk in your direction.
“(y/n)! ayanokouji-kun! good, you’re in the same spot,” she smiled.
you resisted the urge to stand right next to her while she took out two boxes of chocolates. it was quite easy to tell the difference between the two, one was for a friend, and the other for someone she liked.
hiyori handed ayanokouji the red square-shaped box and you the pink heart-shaped one. you knew ayanokouji was looking at you, but you didn’t dare to meet his eye. you were sure that he, and every other person watching, had put some of the puzzle pieces together.
the brunette dismissed himself to avoid any more attention.
“i thought we’d meet at the cafeteria?” you spoke with hiyori in a quiet voice.
she nervously laughed, “sorry, i thought this would be a good time to give ayanokouji-kun his chocolates as well. i also wanted to walk with you, if you didn’t mind.”
unable to resist the sweet girl, you let her grab your free hand. she gently gave you three squeezes, a silent message just for you.
‘i love you’

“i’m exhausted,” you murmured to Indi, making her laugh, “why? up all night with Tim?” she giggled. you rolled your eyes at the comment, not realizing that he was behind you. he put a coffee in front of you, not saying anything before leaving, “he’s so in love with you,” she said.
you shook your head, denying it, “please, we all see the way he looks at you. it isn’t hard to tell,” she emphasized the last part. “he’s just a friend Indi. you’re friends with other people here and I don’t try to intrude in on it,” you retorted, taking a sip of the coffee.
Indi groaned, not bothering to continue the conversation. it was like everyone but you noticed it. they saw the heart eyes Tim had for you. it was like he waited on his hands and knees for you which was surprising considering the kind of person Timothy was. he didn’t seem like the kind of person to simp and nevertheless so openly.
“aww, where’d you get the coffee?” Candice asked, “Tim brought it for me so I can’t really tell you where he got it for me,” you told her. she sighed, sitting down and sipping her water, “of course he did. the two of you dating yet?” she asked off-handedly.
you sighed as Indi screamed in appreciation, “it’s exactly what I said! but she didn’t believe me,” Candice laughed, not bothering to pay attention to your protests, “everyone in a quarter radius knows how our resident ‘angry’ wrestler feels about you,” she said in fits of chuckles.
“you guys really think so?” you asked genuinely, “yeah!” Indi exclaimed, “literally everyone knows he is practically in love with you. you could seriously just walk up to kiss him and he’d be fine with it,” Candice added on.
you sat on what they said for a moment before getting up and smiling at him, “i’m gonna go talk to him,” you stated, “maybe finally get a truthful answer to both of your conspiracy theories.”
Indi and Candice clapped happily, following behind you but far enough so Tim couldn’t see they were eavesdropping onto the conversation. you walked into the hallway that you knew he would be prepping himself at for his match. what you walked into was what you didn’t expect.
you saw Tim sitting with a girl, extremely close you had to note. your eyebrows fluttered in confusion as you saw Tim lean in to give her a kiss on the cheek. you tiptoed your way out of the hallway before looking to Candice and Indi with teary stained eyes.
“( your name ),” Indi whispered as she saw you wipe your face with a smile on your face, “didn’t I tell you? he didn’t like me and I really was not in the mood to see him kiss another girl,” you told Indi, “so I think I’m just gonna go ahead and get ready for my match,” you told the two before heading out.
the two of them looked at each other, sighing before following you, “listen, we all thought he did. we had no idea he was seeing someone considering the way he is around you,” Candice tried to say as you shook your head, “it’s fine. it’s not much to me anyway. he’s always been a friend to me so it’s not like it’s going to bother me if he does have a girlfriend or something, “I gotta go though. I have a match against Scarlett tonight,” you informed the two before going into makeup.
they wanted to follow you but knew it was no use. you sat the entire time at makeup, talking to Scarlett about a few new moves you wanted to try on her so she wouldn’t freak out when you tried them. there was word that the feud you had ongoing with her would turn into feud that brought Karrion into it but they still hadn’t told you who your partner was if they did bring him in.
just as they finished your makeup and you tied your boots, you couldn’t help but notice how packed backstage was getting. everyone was extremely into the feud you had with Scarlett and eventually, you knew the women’s title belt was going to get brought into the conversation.
“ready for tonight?” you heard Hunter ask you. you nodded excitedly, “yeah! super pumped actually. ready to release some anger if i’m being honest,” Hunter laughed, patting you on the back, “well, I think you’ll like how the match goes. just don’t freak out too much.”
you wanted to question what he meant by that but you didn’t get time too as your theme rang off throughout the arena. you saw Timothy try and catch your attention but you were too pissed off and hyper-focused to bother to respond to him.
as you made your way to the ring, you saw Scarlett already inside, prepared to attack you at any given minute. you gave her a smirk, wiping your boots on the mat in an Imperium styled fashion. the bell didn’t even ring off yet as the two of you instantly attacked each other.
the match seemed to be going in all different directions as the crowd yelled loudly in anticipation for one of you to finally pin the other. just as you had the chance to pin Scarlett, the lights went off indicating that someone was walking or appearing into the ring.
as soon as the lights came back on, you saw Karrion inside, looking at you with a devious smile. you felt panic rising, not knowing who was going to help you and a part of you hoped that it wouldn’t be Tim to be the one come to your aid.
“fuck,” you whispered as you managed to get yourself into a corner. just as Scarlett and Karrion were about to attack, you heard Kushida’s music blare from the speakers, catching you extremely off guard. you smiled, crawling out the ring, quickly giving him a smile before the two of you ran inside together.
you had no idea why Kushida was going to be the one to be your partner but you didn’t mine. the two of you were friends and went out together whenever a large outting happened.
Scarlett and Karrion sized the two of you up as you and Kushida kicked them swiftly in the abdomen. they both went down instantly as you and Kushida got on top of them, trying to get blows into them but the refs managed to come in time to stop the two of you.
you and Kushida stepped back, not wanting to get kicked out of the ring. you smiled at him, giving him a hug in appreciation. you didn’t miss the small blush crawling on his face as the two of you slowly walked backstage. by the time you reached backstage, you were excitedly talking to him and vice versa.
“how would you like to work together?” Hunter asked, approaching the two of you, “it seemed like great chemistry out there.” you looked at Kushida for an answer, “I’d like love too!” you exclaimed as Kushida nodded just as excitedly. “great, it was either him or Timothy but a hunch told us to go with Kushida.”
you laughed, “glad you picked him!” you exclaimed, “well, we’d like to get press photo’s for the two of you to release them by tonight so get touched up and meet us in the photography room in twenty.”
“hey partner!” you told Kushida, “it’s going to be fun working with you,” he said shyly. you smiled, hugging him once again, causing Kushida to blush, “yeah it is. I’m glad you’re my partner,” he complimented, kicking a scrap piece of junk that was on the floor.
Kushida waited on you to finish up your makeup touches before heading over to the photography room. on the way there, you saw Tim walking towards you and that angry feeling came over you again. you instantly walked closer to Kushida, trying not to get into conversation with Tim.
“okay, so we have a couple of poses we’d like to put you guys in and then you have free rein to pose however you’d like.”
you and Kushida nodded as you got into the position they put you in. one day you and Kushida just smiling at the camera while another had you on Kushida’s back, smiling at each other. outside of the room was Indi, Candice, and Tim looking inside discreetly.
“aren’t they kind of cute together in some odd way?” Indi said, seeing if she’d get a reaction out of Tim, “yeah, the chemistry inside the ring was kind of cute. you can see him getting flustered around her,” Candice added on.
Tim on the other hand tried to keep his composure together but ultimately failed as he ended up getting pissed off and it showing. the final pose you and Kushida did was putting on each others merch and ending up in that same piggyback position.
after the photos were over, you looked at Kushida, “wanna catch dinner? it’s still pretty early and I’m kind of starving.” Kushida instantly lit up, “sure, my treat as a way of thanking you,” he said as the two of you walked out the room. you turned the cheek to Tim as you smiled at Candice and Indi, “Kushida and I-,”
“you can call me Yujiro.”
you laughed as you continued, “Yujiro and I want to catch dinner. any of you down?” you asked.
they nodded no, looking at each other and trying to figure out where the sudden interest in your partner came from. this wasn’t the first time you had paired yourself with another male wrestler on the roster but this was the first time you actually went out of your way to hang out with them.
“nah, Johnny and I are busy,” Candice lied as Indi made one up herself to not go, “well alright! don’t say I didn’t asked,” you relied as you walked away from them with Kushida walking alongside you.
you had separated from him to get dressed when you finally ran into Tim once again, “hey,” he said, trying to stop you from walking away, “where you headed?” he asked. you sighed, rolling your yes discreetly, “having dinner with Yuji in a few minutes. I’ll talk to you later.”
Tim was taken back by the sudden attitude you gave him but when you finally reunited with Kushida again, it was completely gone. Kushida had hooked his arm around you, leading you out of the Full Sail and into one of your cars. his mind raced with different thoughts on why you were no longer reciprocating the feelings you once did.
throughout the few weeks, you and Kushida continued to partner up with each other. on some nights, it was with Scarlett and Karrion and other nights it was with Candice and Johnny. Hunter wanted to test out how the chemistry between you and Candice went before replacing the feud you had with Scarlett with Candice instead.
you got to catering, putting food on the table as Kushida had saved you a spot with the Breezango tag team and ironically enough, the tag team of Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel.
“hey,” you greeted everyone as Kushida pulled your chair out before pushing it back in and sitting back down, “aww, don’t tell me he’s keeping up the sweet persona out of the ring as well,” Marcel joked as he poked at Kushida’s actions.
you sat confused, “what do you mean?” you asked, “he’s really keeping up that shy and sweet persona with you even outside the ring?” Fabian added on. you rolled your eyes, “well I mean, I would hope so considering we are kind of seeing each other.”
everyone at the table stopped their actions, not expecting what you were saying, “what do you mean ‘seeing each other’,” Tyler asked, not suddenly interested. “we’re dating,” Kushida responded, lifting up both of your hands, showing that you were holding each others hand from underneath the table.
“YOU’RE DATING KUSHIDA,” Curtis practically screamed. you tried shushing him but it didn’t work as everyone around you paused their conversations to look at the two of you, “no way!” Indi yelled, running over to you, “you’re dating him? like for real?” she asked.
you looked at Kushida was practically trying to hide his face in his sweater from embarrassment, “yes, we are. jesus christ, why is this such a big deal?” you asked, kind of annoyed. Indi shook your shoulders, “we didn’t think it’d be this early,” Marcel replied, “and honestly we thought you and Tim were a thing,” Fabian murmured.
Tim had been listening to the entire conversation, fuming at what he was hearing. just a month ago, the two of you were practically seconds from dating and now you were dating Kushida? he saw the way Kushida looked at you and frankly, it reminded him of himself. Kushida had the same heart eyes for you that he did.
eventually, after the mess of conversation ended, you and Kushida walked away to start getting ready for the match. Tim followed the two of you to the locker rooms, trying not to get caught in the process.
you looked at Kushida and placed a kiss on his lips, “you okay with everyone knowing now?” you asked as he brought you in for another kiss, “fine with it. maybe your friend Tim will finally stop liking you.” you laughed shaking your head, “he’s nothing. you’re the only one who’s in this position anyway.”
Kushida brought you in for another kiss, this one getting a bit steamier before he released you, “later, we got to get ready,” he whispered before heading into the mens locker room. you stood mesmerized for a few minutes as Tim walked into the hall, “you and Kushida?” he asked suddenly.
you nodded in response, trying to walk away.
“what did that happened?” he asked. you rolled your eyes dramatically, “a few weeks ago. why is it any of your concern?” you asked. Tim stood close to you, faces inches away from each other, “because you were mine,” he stated.
you laughed, not believing what he was saying
“you said it! the magic word was ‘were’.”

Chapter 10 - Strengthening Friendship Bonds
Tumblr media
Though Kisara wasn't paying attention to the enemy's introduction by Sayaka, she looked up at the man that stood next to her as if he was the Empire States Buiding. And though the people out there were cheering for Gozo, as soon as Sayaka mentioned the 'Wild Tiger', the crowd went up in flames with roars of excitement. With one last encouraging word, Kisara watched her friend step forwards, inside the stadium's fighting rink. "Now, the Wild Tiger of the Kengan Matches is baring his fangs at Hercules! He's achieved no less than 306 victories, and he doesn't have the most victories in history for nothing!!! One of the most likely winners of this tournament is finally in action - With a kengan record of 306 wins and 2 losses, total assets acquired at 3,277,395 trillion yen, for Furumi Pharmaceuticals, THE WILD TIGER, WAKATSUKIIII TAKEEEEEEEESHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!" shit, that's most likely more than the whole national budget, Kisara found herself bursting into laughter out loud.
The two fighters were about equal heights, and stood so close to one another, fists clenched and flexing tightly, as if asserting their domination0. It was so strong, that not even the referee could get them to listen to him, so instead, he was told by the chairman to get out of there before he got hurt. Thus, the match began with a strong punch to the face by Takeshi, who managed to easily knock a few teeth off from Gozo, and make him fall backwards - Though he didn't fly away, as Gozo initiated a Cross arm lock... Didn't this man get it the first time around? Wakatsuki is superhuman, and can lift him up with his arm alone, throwing him off with ease. As Wakatsuki rushed to hit Gozo again, he was hit in the Solar plexus, yet didn't stop or even falter, and landed his punch, possibly knocking off teeth again.
Gozo found himself choosing to use his trump card, starting with a crouch like a runner at a marathon, lunging towards Takeshi, landing a knee kick to the chin, managing to bend his torso backwards a bit, yet it was nowhere close to being enough and throw his balance off, or make him falter. Instead, Takeshi punch Gozo, letting a war cry so strong that it resounded throughout the place loudly. Gozo was painfully slammed into the concrete wall, his consciousness lost, just like his match. Meanwhile, the only damage in Takeshi's body was a simple drip of blood from his nose.
"I always love watching your fights, you know that, right?" Kisara chuckled, signaling to him to get closer. "Thank you, Kisara, you're too nice." unlike the solemn and grave disposition from before the fight, he was now much more cheerful and calm. "I'm just saying the truth. Get down here, big guy, you have a bit of blood on your lip." taking her handkerchief from her pocket, she motioned to the man to get down. Because of the great height different, he just got on his knee and let the girl cup his face and wipe the blood off. "There, there, you look as good as new!" she smiled softly, matching his relaxed visage - Only to hear a small gasp from behind. The duo looked back, revealing a surprised Kaede, her hand hiding her agape mouth. "O-Oh, I'm sorry to be disturbing you -- I-I didn't know you two were -- Congratulations, you two!" the blonde stumbled over her words, making the two blush slightly at the implication. "Miss Kaede - There's been a misunderstanding --" Takeshi quickly got up, trying to explain. "I didn't even realise how it would seem, I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, Kaede - Though, I must admit, now that I think about it, I guess I would be really lucky if it were the truth." Kisara laughed lightly, making Takeshi a bit flustered. "O-Oh, I see, I'm sorry for coming to conclusions. Anyway, congratulations on your first round." the atmosphere got calmer and more friendly. Though Kisara wasn't aware of it, she quickly deduced the two were already in good terms. "Thank you, Miss Kaede. What are you doing here? Are you looking for Sakura?" he asked calmly. "No, I haven't seen her since we got off the ship." Sakura? Could that be her friend or relative? "Hehe... That's so her. Kisara, Sakura is Miss Kaede's sister. If you thought you were directionally challenged, well - You don't hold a candle to her." Takeshi chuckled lightly. "Yes, that's right... We were supposed to meet once at a restaurant in Shibuya... And she ended up calling me... She was in Siberia, of all things." Kaede smiled wryly, as if slightly embarrassed by her sister. "Well, I suppose I can feel better now, huh?" Kisara grinned, happy that she wasn't as bad as she thought anymore. "Still... Wakatsuki, you were amazing. You overwhelmed him completely. You defeated Murobuchi Gozo before he could even do a thing to you." Kaede complimented the man. "Not exactly, Miss Kaede. Murobuchi was frighteningly strong. Strong enough to make my hairs stand on end. But... I was even stronger... That's all there's to it." though he said that with such humility, his smile was saying otherwise. "Always so humble, Takeshi! It took less than two minutes for you to knock him out, so don't give me that." the red head nudged him. "Hey, is that Akira?"  "Yes, that's him. What's he doing at the Infirmary?" Takeshi muttered to himself. "Infirmary? Is Cosmo there?" the answer was negative. "Well, I guess I'll go ahead and say hi. You two go on without me. I want to see Seki's fight... And that guy's too." with a mock military salute, Kisara skipped towards the medical ward and slipped inside just as Akira was closing the door. "Akira~♪" she hummed his name, throwing a peace sign. "Yo, heey Red, 'sup!" he raised his hand up as a lazy greeting. "All good! I saw you around after Takeshi's fight, and thought I'd come say hi. Is Cos okay?" she asked, a bit worried. "Oh, yeah, yeah, he's fine, don't worry about him. In fact, he's not here. Actually, let me introduce you to my friends!" throwing his arm around her shoulders, Akira brought her inside, where a familiar voice was yelling at another for teasing him.  "Ah! You're that super cute guy who fought with Ohma! Hi, you two, lovely meeting you. I'm Hasashi Kisara, it's great seeing more of Akira's friends!" she threw another peace sign at them. "Oh, yes, I saw you with Mr. Yamashita and his fighter, but I never imagined this guy would be friends with a relative of the Hasashi CEO." the Penasonic CEO smiled friendly, teasing Akira. "Ah - Come on now, don't mention it - In fact, until yesterday, I had no idea what my parents were doing. But it's fine! One day, I'll crush them, and I'll take over the company, and prove to them that I'm not hopeless. So, please don't associate me with those guys." she chuckled awkwardly, extending her hand for them to shake. "At least my businessman intuition was right when I told you they were your parents." surfer dude laughed at her. "Not anymore!" she grinned lightly. "Anyway! Inaba, you were so cool out there! I want to know what you do to your hair, you were like this super cool onryo from movies!" the enthusiasm continued. "Hehe... Thank you, Miss Kisara, but looking like I do, I don't deserve your praise, especially from Tokita's friend. My clan has a special drug that is used to treat our hair since childhood, and we train and learn how to fight with it. It makes the assassinations easier." Ryo chuckled softly, albeit painfully - His face was swollen and he was missing a tooth. "Hey, you -- Why do you still have this picture... And as a wallpaper too?! Delete it right now! I look awful!" the CEO was behaving the same age as he was in the picture, snatching the phone from Akira's hand. "Whoa - Surfer dude, were you going through a phase or something? Ryo is the only one who was AND remained cute!" Kisara snatched Urita's phone, keeping him at arm's length by dodging around.  "I was a bit of a playboy in highschool, I guess - Unwillingly though, girls just liked me!" Akira laughed carefree. "Uri, stop bothering, you won't catch her off guard, she's too fast for you."  "Yeah I see that... Miss Kisara, please delete that picture!" Urita put his hands on his knees and panted... Obviously, he wasn't one for sports. "Nope~♪" she stuck her tongue out to him. "Akira, got more pics like this?" "Yeah, a whole folder! Look it up!" though Akira was grinning, Urita's eyes widened large like cherry pies and lunged at the girl, letting out a desperate war cry. "Let's see, what do we have here~♪" with one hand on Uri's face, and the other uncomfortably searching through the pictures, she suddenly gasped, horrified, and threw the phone in Urita's hands. "YOU TAKE IT!" "Yes, thank yo--... TAKE IT BACK, I DON'T NEED IT!" the man threw back the phone, only to have it tossed backwards immediately. "I DON'T WANT IT! I NEED BLEACH FOR MY EYES AND SOME MENTAL REHAB!" she cried, terrified and afraid of looking at the phone anymore. "AND YOU THINK I WANT TO SEE IT?! I WANT TO DROWN MYSELF AFTER SEEING THAT!" Urita yelled back at her. "Hey, you two, calm down, what's the matter? It's just a pic. I mean, we were in highschool, we weren't as good looking as now, but --" surfer dude, was looking confused at their reaction, only for Ryo to raise in a sitting position and use his hair to snatch the phone away, and his eyes bulged up, throwing the phone in Akira's hands. "I wish Tokita would have kept me unconscious for much longer..." Inaba grumbled, falling back down on the bed. "BYE, GUYS!" Kisara immediately sprinted away from there. The last thing she wanted was to see Nishihonji Akira's nudes, of all things. Good luck trying to explain that to all your friends now.
As soon as she got up in to take a seat, she found Gaolang and Saw Paing sitting there, so she went to join them. "Ohhh, Miss Kisara, hi! Ready to watch the next match?" the Burmese fighter offered the girl the other seat next to Gaolang, who was now flanked from both sides.  "Yes! I hope you guys talk more about the matches, I'm not familiar with all fighting styles out there." she smiled sheepishly. "Don't worry, this guy is very talkative. Too talkative, in fact." the Thai God of War spoke in disdain. "That's great~♪ Anyway, I heard there's the fight for this guy who uses ballet or something? I got trapped in the preliminaries, and he was one of the fighters. Should be interesting." she spoke, only to see Gaolang shake his head. "His company forfeited. The next fight is your parents'... No, forgive me. The Hasashi company's fight." he hesitated, remembering the fight from the previous night.  "... Forfeit? In a Kengan match? How is that possible?!" Kisara's eyes widened from shock, her gaze snapping at Gaolang. "My guess, the Toyo company has blackmailed the other's CEO, so they were forced to forfeit. It's not unheard of, considering how lax the rules are. Well, it doesn't matter to me anyway." he shrugged, completely unphased.  "It's time to introduce the next fighter! The most powerful man in the history of kickboxing, the relentless fighter, the world-renowned champion, the man who has as many epithets as awards - The legendary fighter is entering the kengan matches! Standing at 196 cm tall and weighting in at 104 kg, his kengan record is of 78 wins and no losses... For Hasashi Private Medical Network, The Gashadokuro, TANJIIIIIIIIII YOOOOOIIIIIICHIIIIIIIIIIII!!!" Kisara couldn't help but grit her teeth as she got up, glaring at the man. He strutted inside the pit, flexing and smirking like a cocky bitch, thinking he's undefeatable. He never crossed punches with Wakatsuki, otherwise, he'd be a dead man. Then, the other opponent was introduced, and he came in, walking on four legs, his tongue out, looking like a maniac and breathing heavily. "That guy's not normal in the head." Saw Paing pointed out, as the other two agreed. "Still, Tanji was smart, fighting No-Gi. If he were to fight with a shirt on, he'd be an easy target for a judo practitioner like Meguro." Gaolang added, as the red head could only hum in acknowledgement. "I heard that once, at a university, the Judo team and the Wrestling team held sparring matches. The Judo team won every match that was under Gi rules... However, under the No-Gi rules, they lost every match to the wrestling team. Already, Meguro is at a disadvantage." "I see, that's very interesting." she nodded again.
Still, Meguro didn't need to grab the enemy by the shirt - Instead, he grabbed his clavicle and flipped him down on his back, mounting him - Though it was an easy enough hit to break the fall, the shock still dispersed, and the kickboxer stopped moving for a little while. Good, Kisara thought, whatever the outcome, as long as that jerk loses, it's all good. He kept getting punch after punch, and the one down was more or less able to defend - Until he got strangled.
"I thought Judo was more of a defense martial art." asked, confused at the aggressiveness displayed by the madman. "At its core, it is. At the same time, it's also renowned when it comes to ground fighting and its stability in any situation is impressive. I suppose, fighting a veteran on the ground is like challenging a shark in the middle of the ocean." Gaolang explained to the girl. He was so good at explaining, she was fascinated. "Well, this looks like it hurts. I hope that madman wins." just as she said that, however, the kickboxer stuck his finger into Meguro's eye, putting it out. "CHRIST, THEY HAVE NO LIMITS -" "There's no shame down there. If you need to retort to dirty tricks to win, you're lacking in your martial arts prowess." Gaolang shook his head in disgust. "In a death match, anything goes - I guess, some really go by that logic. But Meguro isn't letting go of Tanji's neck, that's impressive." Kisara muttered, only to see the kickboxer stick his finger into Meguro's ear, rupturing the eardrum... The semicircular canals and what not of the medial ear. Still, it seemed like the grip on his neck was only getting tighter. Not only that, but with one of those large paws of his, Meguro slammed down his hand on Tanji's face and took out both his eyes...  "I am appalled." the Thai declared, looking away - If there was no honour in fighting, he didn't like it. "Wait, Gaolang... Something's wrong. A normal person would be bleeding a heavily at having their eyes plucked out - Not to mention, they'd most likely faint from the pain. None of that happened for Tanji. It's clear that Meguro is screwed in the head, but Tanji isn't. Look at those things one the ground... Those aren't real eyes, they were prosthesis!" she declared, leaning over the railing to get a better look. "Ohhh, Miss Kisara is right! Awesome! But wait, does that mean that Tanji was always blind?" Saw Paing asked as he started hogging the railing, leaving no space for the Thai to watch the game. "Yes." Kisara spoke, before her eyes widened in realisation. "No!" she quickly turned to Gaolang. "Actually - I think he MAY have been able to see! I read an article once that the Hasashi whatever was testing an eye prosthesis so that even the blind can see. Something about creating a human eye and attaching the nerves and blood vessels with microsurgery. It's supposed to take a while to recover and be able to see, and even more to get used to the new vision, but it's supposed to be perfect vision. It's a scientific medical miracle, and if this worked... Then Tanji is the ever living proof of that." she explained, seeing as the two men were watching in shock at her words. "So that's how far the medical field has gone." Gaolang grumbled to himself. In that instant, Meguro let out an agony, blood curling shriek and jumped away from the kickboxer. His testies were squashed to hell by him. She's only seen such awful tactics in fighting anime, but all things considered, his life was on the line. Anything goes. And even after that, Meguro was standing.
Not for long though, for Tanji was somehow able to change the flow of the fight and deliver hit after hit. Judging by how easy it was for him to predict and hit his target, it was obvious that he wasn't always able to see so well, so the vision-prosthesis was an experimental success. "It seems that, despite getting a vision, Tanji was previously blind - Or blinded, and was able to get familiar to living without his sight, thus, getting his other senses more refined." Kisara spoke, amazed by the capacities a blind man can achieve. "I don't want to imagine life without my sight..." Saw Paing muttered, almost as if afraid at the thought of being blind.
Tanji started rushing Meguro, delivering more and more and more hits to his body, but the madman was still standing up, with a look of complete euphoria on his face. Blow to the side, to the skull, to the top of the head, to the temples, even crushing the windpipe, and in the end, the kickboxer grabbed Meguro's head and rotated it at such an angle that even the audience could hear the vertebra snapping - The finishing blow was another pair of fingers shoved down, inside Meguro's already pulled out eye, reaching all the way to his brain. Even he couldn't resist that, and thus Meguro Masaki fell down on the ground, with his tongue out and a huge grin on his face. Awful.
"Well, it seems that he won. Glad I won't have to fight against such disgrace." Gaolang huffed at the glorious pose that he pulled. "... No, but Seki will." Kisara groaned, falling back down on the chair. "Seki...?" Gaolang didn't get it at first. "Sekibayashi Jun! He's the best pro-wrestler out there! In fact, his match was the first one I ever saw, almost 4 years ago, and that's how I got fascinated by kengan matches and fighting in general. You see - Seki's not only a fighter, but an entertainer too, so whenever he's fighting it's always a super fun show to watch! Hey, Saw Paing, your match is right after this one, I'll come down with you, I want to congratulate Seki on his win." she grinned, completely confident in his victory. "Oh, hell yes! I want to see an awesome fight! I'm all pumped up now! GAOLANG, LET'S HAVE A WARM UP FIGHT!" Yoroizuka cried out loudly. "No. Now sit down, you're bothering the crowd." Gaolang reprimanded him immediately. "Oh. You're right. Okay then." the Burmese nodded in understanding and sat down obediently. "You really know how to tame him." Kisara chuckled softly, shaking her head at their antics.
Soon, the next fight was announced, and the first contender was some delinquent sumo brawler with a 7 to 0 kengan record, and he was wearing a yokozuna belt, though he was an exile, mocking his heritage. "And now, introducing his opponent - It's Pro Wrestling vs Sumo! The time has finally come for these two often-compared sports to settle things once and for all - Representing the Pro Wrestling Industry, is the Angel of Death sent straight from Hell, and he's chosen to enter the arena second, as if going first was beneath him! Standing 196 cm tall, weighing in at 141 kg, with a kengan record of 57 wins and 1 loss, total assets required at 555,111,250 billion yen, for Gandai, HELL'S ANGEL, SEKIBAYASHIIIIIIIIIIIII JUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN!!!" though, as soon as he stepped inside the rink, everyone marveled at his appearance. "That's a taboo backwards gingko-leaf topknot! He's mocking Takeru!" Kisara was holding down on the railing, cheering loudly for Sekibayashi.
Before the match even began, Takeru grabbed Seki by the top of his head and slammed him hard onto the ground. "Fighters shouldn't disobey the basic rules of a match. That's blatant disrespect to the art of fighting." Gaolang was getting irked at this childishness. "It's alright, he'll learn his lesson. Seki will be sure to teach him. Give him a proper discipline." Kisara smirked deviously, watching as Seki quickly got up as soon as Kiozan turned his back to him, and slammed him hard with a German Suplex. "Pro-Wrestler are fantastic actors and can take punishment like no other fighter!" though Seki accepted punch after punch, going to get the acclaiming of the audience, he'd still land enough hits on the Sumo wrestler too. He was sturdy, alright, and it wasn't easy to budge him, considering the legs are the most trained parts of a sumo fighter's body, and they are proficient in their balance.
Kiozan had Jun pressed flat to the wall, and allowed the wrestler to bend and grab him from below, around his abdomen, but he couldn't budge the sumo fighter - Instead, he got hit by a teppo slap and hit his head so hard on the wall, that the concrete shattered. He received more and more hits, only to retaliate with a backhand chop that Kisara knew was usually able to make most fighters faint... But that wasn't the case for Takeru as well. Still, despite all the punches thrown around, Kiozan still didn't get it... Seki was a Pro Wrestler, so he used the wall to jump and fall down on the enemy, making him a pancake - But that, too, was short lived, and the two were now facing each other again, yet neither giving even an inch.
Now came Seki's turn to deliver blow after blow after blow, and he wasn't stopping his backhand chops until Takeru hit him with a slap to the face. But of course, Hell's Angel was unstoppable. "Why isn't he blocking any of the fights?" Saw Paing asked. "That's all for the show - Wrestlers are expected to receive any hit they get, and that's why, Sekibayashi's endurance is through the roof. He can withstand even a missile! I'm kidding, but also not. Look, he's not backing down, and no matter how many hits he gets, Seki's still fired up. More, it's playing on Kiozan's morale - He seems easily angered, and that's going to make him lose his focus. What he's doing now, though it's a defensive move, he's not guarding. He's just standing there and taking it all. There was a story once, about 'The Standing Man', and Seki is using that stance right now. The story goes as follow - A lone traveler was offered shelter by a noble family in feudal Japan. On the same night, a group of assassins is sent to kill every member of the family in a bloody coup; the traveler attempts to flee carrying a large bell on his back, but is cornered by the bandits. They attack him, stabbing him, cutting him, beating and berating him, but the man is unmoved and stares at them aggressively. Many moments pass until the leader of the bandits realizes he has been long dead. Yet still, he stood there with the heavy bell on his back giving them the same threatening look, taking it as a sign the man has an incredible strength of spirit the bandits leave their bloody deeds done. The next morning the body of the man is found by the remaining servants of the deceased family still frozen in the same pose. It is then revealed that under the large bell he had been carrying he had hidden  the youngest heir of the family. So, you see - Sekibayashi Jun is holding The Standing Man pose, and he's standing no matter how many hits he takes!" Kisara explained, watching with amazement at his prowess.  "Sis, you sure know a lot about wrestling... BUT THAT WAS SO COOL! That guy's so manly and fights really smart!" the Burmese yelled, super hyped. "I don't like the restricted fights you see on TV. I like THESE fights. THIS is where REAL fights are highlighted!" Kisara laughed, filled with energy as she started chanting Sekibayashi's name, like the rest of the crowd.
Though Seki declared it was his turn now, he lay face first on the ground, as the sumo fighter used a kick - A kick! "Kicks in sumo? I heard about this once... That ancient sumo was allowed to use kicks too... But either that's true, or Kiozan is doing something else entirely." she looked confused and a bit concerned to her friend and the amount of brutal hits he was taking. "Yes, that's right. I heard sumo was one of the original mixed martial arts, a while ago." Gaolang nodded, confirming her suspicions, as Seki was barely keeping himself standing - Even through it all, he was still smiling. "Yo, sumo whelp - What's the point in being a sumo wrestler if you've lost your faith in sumo?" Seki asked, grabbing Takeru's wrist. "WELL?!" he roared, headbutting his nose. Seki continued to taunt and make fun of Takeru. "You've got no core. You don't love sumo, do you?" seeing how irked Kiozan was, it seemed the wrestler hit the nail on the spot. "Real sumo my ass - Turns out you're just trying to mimic MMA. I mean, gimme a fucking break! You don't have any right to deny sumo, when you haven't even made it to the top!" this lecture was enough to drive the rikishi into a mad frenzy and throw hit after hit, and headbutt Jun into oblivion - Though, saying that he got serious and will kill Seki. What a joke.
Takeru went into the lowest sumo stance possible, his fists both planted on the ground, for maximum speed - And in that moment, Kiozan vanished from the arena. No, he just propelled himself at such a speed that he was like a bullet train, ready to hit Seki, who lowered his gravity center and contracted every muscle in his body, bracing for the impact. It was the paradox of the unstoppable force hitting the immovable object, but now, only one will survive.
Though Sekibayashi was the one who fell down, he was also the one to get up - Unlike the rikishi, whose knees failed him from all the strain they endured, and was unable to continue the fight. "I see. At the moment of impact, Sekibayashi forced Kiozan's head down with his chest, delivering the impact to Kiozan's head, causing brain damage. A wrestler's defense isn't the ordinary one, but it turns an opponent's own force against him, breaking their form and redirecting the hits. The more powerful the opponent, the greater the defense." Gaolang explained for the two, though the girl was too busy grabbing Saw Paing and running down towards the arena - Though the Lethwei fighter had to stop at the preparation room, Kisara went to greet the Angel of Death, who picked her up and put her on his shoulder as soon as he saw her. Unlike all the punches he took, a light girl like her weighted nothing to him.
"HELL'S ANGEL, SEKIBAYASHI JUN, WINS AGAIN! ALL BOW DOWN TO THE GREAT SEKI, THE ANGEL OF DEATH!" Kisara dangled her legs as she applauded loudly. "Haha, the little princess is singing me sweet praises, look at her! You enjoyed that fight, didn't ya?" he laughed so boastfully, only to start coughing blood and fall to one knee. "Shit, sorry princess, hope you didn't get blood on that pretty dress of yours, it would be a shame. I guess I didn't realise the damage I took from that kid."  "Hey, now, don't apologise. Well - If I knew, I'd have taken a towel. Come on, let me help you up, and don't give me any of that wrestling excuses." Kisara frowned, looking with worry at the kneeling wrestler. It was already twice now, that men was kneeling before her, though one of them was for fun, while the other was from the damage. "E-Ex-Excuse me..." a meek voice called from behind them. "Oh, you again? You caught me at a bad time." Seki spoke, grinning as he realised it was the ex-representative of Nentendo. "Don't tell anybody about this... Pros aren't supposed to break kayfabe." he chuckled painfully. "Can I change...?" Haruo started crying waterfalls. "I'm a piece of shit. I betrayed everyone's expectations, I've hit rock bottom -- Do you think that even I can change?!" "Ha, yeah, you can change! I'm sure that you can! So stop crying all the time, alright?" Seki laughed and allowed himself to get up and be half-helped walking. After almost 7 minutes of fighting, Sekibayashi was declared the uncontested winner of the match, and thus, Block B was over. "Well, isn't that adorable. Seki became a teacher, how quaint. But you know what? MY teacher is going to be fighting soon, in Block D, and when THAT happens, you two will see who's the best teacher-student duo around!" the red haired girl grinned confidently, making the wrestler chuckle and ruffle her hair. "Yeah, princess, I'm sure we will. That guy's gonna be fun to watch, even for me. He's strong, alright, but he's still in the Block of Death, against The Fang. Now that will be a fight to behold!" as he said that, with a quick calculus, she realised that Hatsumi will be fighting The Fang in the 3rd round. If he can win that, he's sure to be the winner of the tournament. Or something. "Now that you mention it... I'm not looking forward to that. No matter how much I love seeing you guys fight, I don't like seeing you hurt, y'know? My doctor self worries about you too much!" she spoke dramatically, her hand over her heart. "And that's why you leave the fighting to us, girl!" Seki laughed confidently. "I'd rather you not have to fight. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure that guy taught you well, but we are still men, and men protect princesses like you."  "Huh? This miss can fight?" Haruo looked at his new teacher stupefied. "Can fight, you ask? Ha! Hear him! She's as much of a fairy as I am, kid! She can beat your ass and you'll thank her!" though horribly amusing, the praises were too much to handle. "Come on, Seki, don't flatter me like that." she chuckled awkwardly. "R-Really?! So small and slender... Th-That's -- That's impossible!" really, if Kisara didn't know better, she'd have said the same. "Hey, princess, why don't ya show him? Go on, kid, lunge at her with all your might, see what happens." as instructed, Kisara and Haruo went a few meters apart, and the man ran and tried to grab the girl, only for her to grab his wrist and throw him over on the wall, breaking the concrete painfully, as the hall was echoing with Sekibayashi's laugh. "See, kiddo! Never underestimate your opponent, especially if she trained with the best Aikido master in the association!" the geek managed to get up and looked down at the girl with wonder and admiration. "I STRIVE TO BE AS GREAT AS YOU TWO SOMEDAY! PLEASE TEACH ME!" Kisara could only give an awkward side-smile, while Seki patted his back and agreed. "Whoaa, what's with this wall?! Did the earthquake cause it?!" Saw Paing came over, ready for his fight and he could only stare at the huge shattered wall. "Ah... Ahaha... Sorry about that... It's my fault. I hope I don't get charged for property damage. A-Anyway, Saw Paing, good luck! I'll be watching you from the seat next to Gaolang! See ya later, winner!" and thus, lightly punching his forehead, she ran back to Gaolang's seat. Though he didn't show it, he was eager to see his rival fighting, and also, secretly hoped to fight against him soon, in this tournament. The eternal rivalry between those two would hopefully be settled through a kengan match, once and for all.
Until then, however, many other matches stood in their way. Even so, Kisara was eager to watch them all unfold, and feel the myriad of emotions that the human heart can feel.
After all, she knew very well...
Tokita Ohma was going to win it all.
Speaking of Ohma - Where was he? Yamashita Kazuo was there, so why not him? He couldn't still be eating, a whole Block finished their fight... Was he sleeping? Well, now she was getting worried. Hopefully, Saw Paing would forgive her for skipping a few minutes from watching his fight live.

Chapter 17 - The Kitsune
Tumblr media
"It is around the time of your boyfriend's match. Aren't you going to watch it?" the Fang asked, confused, as the red haired girl before him, who he knew was so close to that guy, seemed to make no move to get out of the training room - Instead, she continued to practice her moves on him. "Whether I am there to watch or not, the outcome is the same, don't you think?" she seemed nonchalant and dismissive, but deep in her heart, she was antsy and afraid - What if Cosmo pushes him so much that he uses the Advance again, and his heart gives out? "Says the one who went to watch and encourage all the people she encountered." the man scoffed, which made the girl chuckle lightly, shaking her head - He was right, of course, but what was there to be done? "I know you are right, Agito. I know. But I, too, have my duty as a fighter in the next match, and I can't go down without a fight. It matters little that I will lose. All that matters is that I don't die from Takeshi's punch, and uh... I take over the company already. And kill those two."  she explained, shrugging lightly and taking a deep breath. "You don't even want the TV on?" the man asked, but he earned another shake of her head. "It would take my mind away from training. I'll lose focus. It's fine... Let's get back at it." she muttered before going on for an attack, and this is how the next half an hour passed by so quickly, and one of those cheerleader girls came over to tell them the second fight was going to take place. "It is time." Agito spoke, throwing a towel her way so she could go take a shower and change in her fighting clothes for her match. "I see... Time flies really fast. Alright. I'll be there." raking her fingers through her hair, a sense of overwhelm took over her and she tried to take a few more deep breaths and get over her fears... But of course, a fight with Wakatsuki Takeshi was nothing to be taken lightly. Especially after she, herself, told him not to go easy on her.
Once ready, she dressed in a pair of high-waisted black pants, a simple black crop top, her haori, black, painted with red spider lilies and embroidered in the finest gold thread, and of course, the kitsune mask. Gotta make an entrance, after all. Everyone expects that big guy's fight, not a woman's. Things are going to be wild, once Sayaka calls out her name. Even her friends are completely left in the dark about this. Considering how awful the audience is with Sayaka, calling out all sorts of offensive and vulgar things to her, she can only imagine the sort of words she's going to get called.
But no matter. As long as she takes over the company, it was all going to be worth it.
Though her feet were feeling heavy and her instinct made it feel as though she was going through the freezing river, or the lake of flames, just to get on the other side of the arena... Much to her surprise, Agito was there. Though he said nothing, he patted her shoulder and gave an encouraging smile. Though she uttered no word, she shakily placed her hand on top of his, and squeezed her anxiety away. In the middle of the arena, Takeshi was waiting. Up there, on the screen, that idiot's face was there, next to Wakatsuki's, and bets were in order... And Takeshi was winning, of course.
"And from the left side of the arena enters the new fighter of the Hasashi Private Medical Network, after Tanji Yoichi retired out of unknown circumstances." as Sayaka began speaking, a loud murmur was heard throughout the arena and everyone was questioning who was the new fighter, making bets on who was going to fight against Takeshi. "For the first time in Kengan history, in this arena, coming forth - The devious Trickster who's swift and strikes from the shadows when you least expect it - With no Kengan record, for the debut match... One round of applause for the beautiful, the cunning, the sly, the mischievous Queen of the Kengan Matches ---" as soon as they heard the word 'Queen', indicating a female was going to step forward, the whole audience was flabbergast and were either gasping or yelling loudly. "THE KITSUNE, HAAAAAASAAAAASHIIIIIII KISAAARAAAAAAAAA!" as Agito wished her a good fight, she took her first step inside the sandy arena, trying her best not only to tune out the vulgar and undermining comments from the public, but also, how weird the feeling of stepping on sand was - So different from being at the beach. Every step she took, felt as if she was walking on the shared knives, and suddenly, she was reminded of the original tale of the Little Mermaid, who had to experience something similar. Hopefully, she won't turn into sea foam next. "Are you okay, Kisara?" was the first thing that Takeshi asked as the girl went a step away from him, and shook her head - Though, her mimic was hidden by her mask.  "I can feel death knocking on my door. I never realised until now how big you are... I guess, years of friendship made me forget how scary you can be." she chuckled lightly, hanging her head a bit, her hands in her pockets as she swung a bit back and forth. "If I don't hold back in this match... Will you be able to forgive me, when it is over?" he asked, holding his hand out. "Takeshi... It is you who must forgive me, for pulling you through such a difficult situation. Because of my pride and ambitions, you got caught in the middle of a family feud. And for that, I am sorry." she gently held his hand in both of her own. "At least, I will get to see how far into your training you got. You've changed a lot since the first time we met. I'm sure that, this fight, is going to be memorable -- For the both of us, as well as the Kengan history." though he offered a small smile, the girl turned her head towards the audience. "For the perverts who want to fuck me, or those who boo me for destroying the kengan matches?" she sneered, annoyed at the people up there. "Look the other way." in that instant, she looked in the direction Takeshi showed - And she saw many of the fighters she befriended, cheering for her. "Those who matter cheer for you... And there is a handful who want the underdog to win. Don't get discouraged." as he said that, Raian's voice called out loudly, making the public shut up. "FUCK THESE SHITHEADS, BABE! GO WIN THAT FIGHT! YOO-- THAT'S MY WIFE THERE, YA?! YOU DON'T FUCK WITH THE KURE CLAN AND YOU DON'T FUCK WITH MY BABE, GOT THAT!" the comment was enough for Kisara to burst into laughter and take out her mask, giving it to Sayaka, as she wasn't allowed something that could serve as a protection - And she smiled. With one more scan, she noticed Hatsumi giving her an approving nod of his head, and Gaolang was smiling at her. Saw Paing was yelling out encouragement for her, while the peanut gallery was chanting her name. And then, down there, where she usually stood, at the entrance of the arena, there he was - Tokita Ohma, leaning on the wall, his arms crossed and wearing a confident smile. It seemed he wasn't upset that she didn't confide in him about this match - Sometimes, you must do some things on your own - But with enough encouragement, she was brave enough to face even the most renowned Kengan Veteran with hundreds of won matches, The Wild Tiger himself -- All for her ambitions. Whether she won or not, it didn't matter, Ohma knew she was too smart to get herself into a losing situation, so whatever the case may be, he was going to cheer for her and be by her side, just as she always was for him. "And the fighters are facing off!" Sayaka screamed into the microphone, from her commenting booth. "They've got a height difference of 30 cm and a weight difference of a whole 140 KG!" hearing those stats, most people shuddered. "Julius was both taller and heavier than Wakatsuki, yet he still lost! These two look as far apart as the whole Empire States Building next to a pomeranian!" Jerry Tyson gasped dramatically.
"Are you ready, Kisara?" Takeshi asked, taking a step back. "As ready as I'll ever be... Takeshi." with a solemn nod of her head, she, too, took a step back and after dramatically throwing her fringe back and fixing the bun she made out of her long hair, she got her hands back in her pockets, and waited for the match to begin. "Take you stances!" the referee called out. "I am no fighter. I have no stance." she spoke, remaining in a casual repause. "Suit yourselves. Ready -- FIGHT!" the man called out, and thus, Takeshi was the first to lunge forward and deliver the first blow.
'It's the end' some thought. 'She's gonna die' others gasped, watching the bull-like man charging at full speed and attempting to ram into the small, frail woman that was pathetically standing there. The momentum was catching up, and it was time to strike. Raian's face was split in half from that wide, wretched, demonic grin of his - She pulled off the same move that she used on him - But Wakatsuki, for all of his fighting experience, was not an assassin, nor was he as agile as he was. Unlike Raian, who easily landed on his feet, Takeshi was thrown into the wall behind them, breaking it. For all of his power and might, he was effortlessly sent flying. The auditorium was silent from the shock, save for some of friends, who were cheering her name loudly.
Kisara! Kisara!
"I see you've become a worthy opponent. Well done, Kisara. We are proud of you." Takeshi praised her, lunging at her from behind, only to get surprised once more, as she threw herself to the ground backwards, and rolled into his feet, making him fall to the ground with a great thud, watching with blurry eyes as Kisara nonchalantly stepped away.
"Why is she not following up? You can't give a veteran any break." Naoya asked, his arms crossed. He was impressed with her pulling those moves, yet his confusion was still great. "She can't." Ohma informed, not realising at first that more people were gathering to see the fight better. "She can't grapple. She helped me spar a little ago. She did well with normal combat, but when it came to ground fighting, she was powerless." "Well, it's not like anyone is expecting her to win, not even herself." Hatsumi made his way there too. "But, let's be honest, for a cute little thing like her to have a debut fight against that guy? Might as well be fighting The Fang. Most of the fighters in this tournament, all of them with life-time experience, would lose against him." he continued. "But my little angel has already made me proud enough as it is." he praised her, watching the flawless exchange of jabs that hit all of Takeshi's vital points.
"Whoa?! Gaolang, isn't that similar to your special move?!" Saw Paing shrieked loudly, making the Thai cringe, yet he had a proud smile on his face. "It is. I taught her that." he nodded in acknowledgement. He wasn't one to approve of most fighters, but he could commend her wish to get stronger and learn more and more, from a variety of different people. She wanted to have knowledge of everything, as well as mastery. Jack of all trades, yet master of none, he'd say, yet he was well aware that she was trained in Aikido, and that should be her main style, as she proved so well. However, she seemed to switch between styles at an abnormally fast pace. From Aiki to Boxing, and now, she was... Using the Fang's move? And something else?
Agito smirked, watching the red head aim that kick to the Tiger's thigh, making him kneel to the ground. Naoya cringed, yet his eyes were wide open - How could this girl use the Fang's move so perfectly well? A normal person couldn't possibly do something of that magnitude. He, better than anyone, knew how painful that blow was, feeling akin to a machete being stuck in his leg. Still, Kisara leapt on his knee and used her elbows to hit hard on her opponent's head, and followed with a powerful blow to the temple.
Wakatsuki was on the ground.
Ohma felt smug - He never imagined that Kisara would use Karla's idea of using his thigh to alleviate her height and aim a nice hit, yet it was incredibly smart and inventive, considering their height and frame. Though, considering Karla was a Kure, she held strength around the level of Raian.
The crowd was shouting for the Wild Tiger to get up and fight, to stop playing around - But they didn't understand how well aimed and thought every hit was. It was a strategy planned ahead, no doubt with the help of his rival Hatsumi. She was playing with his mind, as well as going for his weak spots.
But that was her biggest problem. Yes, she was able to get Takeshi on the ground twice... But from here on, what is she supposed to do? Even with the best aimed hit, she can't knock him out, and she can't grapple, nor wrestle. Attempting the mounting move that Cosmo uses would just get her ribs crushed, or just simply getting thrown off. She really needs to up her mid-game skills.
Once Wakatsuki got up, he ran into her close area circle, and engaged in a barrage of jabs and lefts and rights - Kisara knew he was going to use his Core Blast, so when he 'charged' that fist backwards, she flexed her arm tightly, only sliding backwards a bit. Ohma's move worked once, yes... But her arm was in agony. If she were to take another hit like this, she wouldn't end up well. She had to use her evasive skill... That was supposed to be a trump card. It probably won't be used a second time either, because Wakatsuki knows of it, more or less. She played the surprise game better than everyone else... But once the element of surprise disappears, what is she left with? There was only so much Raian's combat training can get her, and Hatsumi's Aikido uses the enemy's strength against them... But if the enemy doesn't use any bit of strength, what is she left with?
Wakatsuki took a step back, and got in another stance, making the girl mimic him - Whilst he had his fists, one over the other, to work with his strength, Kisara had her hands open, showing her softness. It was a clear Karate vs Aiki fight, yet neither moved an inch at first, only observing the other. It was then that Kisara's foot slid forward, and noticing her opponent inching forwards, she lunged at him, and with her move, she redirected his own move against him, making him fly backwards. "To think you'd fall so far away. As expected of the Wild Tiger. There's no one else with such incredible strength." Kisara breathed in amusement. With each move she pulled off, she was proud of how far she's gotten. Even the cheers from the auditorium fell deaf on her ears, as well as Sayaka's commentary, and her focus was entirely on Takeshi.
She maintained no stance, and awaited Takeshi to lunge at her - He threw a hundred thousand hits her way - Yet she remained unmoved. They were all fakes, she noticed. Hatsumi has already taught her how to easily differentiate a faux for a real punch - And she grabbed his shin as soon as he threw a real kick her way, making him lose balance - He must have been used to getting caught of guard in that position, as he ended up twisting and ending on his feet - She didn't expect that kind of flexibility from him. Raian was wrong. As he aimed a left hit uppercut, Kisara side-stepped, grabbed at his shoulders and head-butted him. The karate-ka tried to aim a hand-chop at her head, but it stopped before it could connect. Kisara has used her toe to stub at his foot, immobilising him temporarily. Hatsumi had shown her the weirdest tricks that she never imagined she would use in this life. Lucky her. Still, that didn't last long, and Takeshi tried to kick at her again, only to have his whole body seeing the sky again as the girl rolled him over by using her own hand to roll at the back of his ankle, following up with a kick to his chin.
Raian couldn't stop his manic cackling - He was enjoying this fight much more than he expected. He had his fun with her for a whole night, he witnessed and felt first hand her main tactics, reflecting the enemy's strength back, with the user's strength added. Even if she had null strength, the fact that Wakatsuki was such a power house really worked in her favour - The greater the attack, the greater the force that is reflected back. The problem was, that a veteran can't be fooled forever.
"I have analysed all your attacks, Kisara. I have realised your strategy. If I attack at a level of 10, you will counter with a level of 10 plus your own strength. But what would you do if I were no longer an opponent? I'm not going to attack anymore." Kisara held her hands in her pockets, watching as Takeshi kept standing tall. She chuckled, stepping around him. b she grinned leisurely. "As a result, there will be no fight! I have no company to shame by spending the whole match waiting and doing nothing - But you do! You know, if there is no victory, there is also no defeat. What an idyllic world we live in!" though she spoke, Wakatsuki had no other word to usher. "... However, I suppose this is still a match, in the end. You're trying to come up with a battle of stubbornness. I guess you can say I'm proud that I could make the great Wild Tiger come up with such an impertinent strategy, against some weak, inexperienced opponent such as myself. Truly, I'm flattered!" she continued. "Your techniques and mine - I'm far too young to say it doesn't matter whose are superior, or that strength doesn't matter." as soon as she found herself behind her best friend, she sprinted at great speed, hoping to reach his spinal cord, even going as far as to get her haori over her elbows, to spin around and engulf his face, cutting off his sight for a little while -
Before she could incapacitate him, however, Kisara felt a pressure in her stomach, strong enough to send her flying a crazy length, and she stumbled over the sand, rolling pitifully on the ground. No amount of damage that she chipped from the man felt equal to this single punch that connected. She had gasped like a fish on the land, trying desperately to get her air back in her lungs. Her hair tie had broken, and her hair cascaded almost gracefully in scarlet waves over her body. Wakatsuki punched her with a Buddha-like fist. It was a true seiken punch.
'It's over' even the peanut gallery said, watching the girl pitifully groveling on the ground, as the Wild Tiger now approached her, to deliver the final blow. As soon as he stepped by her side, however, Kisara instantly shot to her feet, leisurely catching his wrist and throwing him away, sending him off with a temple punch also, watching him slam his head into the ground. The girl was panting with exhaustion already, many minutes having passed indefinitely.
"How come they both look so tired? It hasn't been that long?" Naoya asked, recalling all of his life-time fights. "With her small frame, it takes a lot of energy for Kisara to pull off all these stunts. Look at Wakatsuki.  That guy weights the same as he is tall. Kisara is almost a quarter his weight. She won't last much longer." Hatsumi explained, a grim expression on his face. He recalled his challenging fight against a prime-power Wakatsuki. Kisara has proven herself already, against this powerhouse of a man.
With both opponents standing, both taking their stances, Kisara slowly, but steadily inched forwards towards the Tiger Karate-ka. Once their toes were touching each other, Wakatsuki readied his fist to punch Kisara's face - She managed to dodge, and with her cleavage, shoulder and arm, she was able to redirect his blow, making him stumble before he was punched down into the ground once more.
"Are you done playing around? You should know, with my built, I don't feel as much pain as you would from the impact. But this ends now. Forgive me Kisara." before she knew it, Wakatsuki was standing up, and she was all the way across the arena, having been sent flying painfully hard. "You fought well, Kisara. Better than many men who dedicated their lives to fighting. Hatsumi taught you well. You should be proud of how far you got." he spoke, walking menacingly towards the girl, who was stumbling and holding at her head, her whole world spinning painfully. "You once told me you hated spinning. You panic. You must be feeling a lot of anxiety right now. Forgive me, best friend." he said, ready to strike and finish this, only to find himself stumbling forward as Kisara threw herself at his feet to trip him once more - In detriment of her feeling the vertigo twisting even faster.
The people around were yelling at her to get up already and fight - That's why they were there, right? To watch people almost kill themselves with their fists. Kisara was barely able to turn and flex her arm to receive another core blast, but just as Ohma suspected, she couldn't take a second hit. She felt broken, barely able to get up and stand. Ohma could see her clutching at her arms and hands - She must be hurting dearly. Her eyes seemed glassy also. Was she crying? She might have been.
Even in that vertigo state, however, Lihito recognised the flow of the fight battle that he himself had with Ohma. No wonder she kept saying she was already dating someone - She had been taught by Tokita himself how to slap her palms over the enemy's. The blond watched as the woman stumbled about, keeping the karate-ka at bay, unable to move further - And if he tried, she'd easily evade his move and counter - And she even clinged to his wrist, stomping her foot flushed against his own, pushing onto it and making him stumble. It was the already pained, damaged ankle that he had complained to her about. That was one of the techniques that Niko taught to Ohma when he was still very little - And it was also one of the very things that Ohma himself taught Kisara. To think that she would actually use it, he was amused. It worked, for a little while at least, and with whatever energy she still had, she used his thigh once more to do the Karla-grappling technique, this time, more accurate, and with her leg over the back of his neck, she pulled herself up, grabbed a fistful of his hair, and jumped behind him, grabbing him down with her also.
It didn't amount to much, but Wakatsuki had already grown tired of all this mess - Kisara had brought him to the edge of his patience, and the match has long since been a real once, in the Kengan organisation, against a worthy opponent which he had to completely destroy. Normally, he had a limit to the amount of times he could use the Blast Core, before he was completely depleted of all his power - But Kisara earned the third strike. She had lunged at him and tried to hit him at the same time as he tried to use the Blast Core at him - Hatsumi laughed, watching her pull off her favourite move, the one where she evaded the hit so fast that it looked as though she had disappeared for a single blink of an eye. Smart, using it to avoid getting hit by Wakatsuki by his most powerful hit yet - However, although she evaded his monstrous hit, she got hit with another. This time, it took more out of her to get the hell up already.
Kisara saw spots in front of her, her vision going to shit. She was clutching her head, and her arms were trembling, trying to get up from the ground, yet falling down once more. She tried again - It was more difficult than any plank exercise she had every tried before. Once she was finally on her feet, she was hoping her head spinning would stop already. She was stumbling whilst standing - One of her knees was hurting to bad that it was giving out already. Her knees have never been her strongest forte, nor will they ever be in the future, especially now, after a proper fight with Wakatsuki. Her body was giving out, and she knew, should she fall, she wouldn't get up again.
With whatever strength her body mustered, she got up, exhibiting the very same psychopathic, monstrous wretched grin that Agito had in his fight against Naoya - Naoya, whose body cringed, watching it the girl get in a low stance and leap up at Wakatsuki. "Kano?!" he gasped, his mind going black for a split second - Just enough for the girl to grab at his wrists and pull him forward, aiming for a barrage of hits at his vitals - When he was too busy blocking her hits, she side-stepped and tripped him, making him stumble backwards. How dare she use the same tricks that his greatest enemy did? The Tiger was as rabid as the fox he was facing, but far more dangerous and angry.
Kisara lunged towards a running Wakatsuki - His face looked almost demonic, desperate, just like in his fight against Julius. He was going to use everything he had, on this last punch. He was ready to hit his final punch, knock the girl out, but just as they got in each other's territory - He stopped before his fist touched her face. Takeshi smiled tenderly at the woman standing before him. Blood was slowly trailing down her chin, and her body already highlighted the areas where bruised would form. "You were a better opponent than most, Kisara." he said, stepping away from her and bent down to grab her lost haori, before he wrapped it around her unconscious body. People stared in awe at the woman who remained stunned in a fighting stance, yet most were unfamiliar with the fact that there were many warriors who would fight until the very second their bodies gave out - And perhaps even father on, when their brains were resting.
Takeshi picked the girl up and gazed on her sleeping face - Even like this, sweating and exhausted, she looked adorable - And he walked out of the arena as soon as he was declared the winner. Once she passed the many friends of hers, she hear her feminine voice, calling out softly. "Senpai... Did I do good?" he wasn't even sure if she was awake or not. Hatsumi reached his hand out to pat her head. "You made everyone proud, Kisara. Well done." more than anyone, even Ohma, the Aikido Master knew how much his little red head apprentice valued and needed praises. That small smile that formed on her face was enough proof. Though Ohma tried to take her in his arms, Takeshi walked right past, making the man scoff. "She's MY best friend. I was the one who fought her. I will be the one to take her to the infirmary." Wakatsuki was almost territorial, walking the young woman to the medic, and placing her on her own bed.
Though not everyone could stay there, watching over Kisara, as the next match was going to start. Hatsumi was leaning on a wall, thanking the girl for exploiting the Tiger's weakness of the ankle, and him himself thinking of how to take advantage of it, should they have to fight again. He already defeated Wakatsuki once - What's one more?  Hanafusa bandaged the woman's wrists and put her up to an I.V., but there wasn't much he could do, except have her rest. Once she woke up, there were only one person there - Her lover.
"Someone once told me that Sleeping Beauty woke up after getting a kiss." he chuckled, holding her hand. "It was me. I'm still waiting for that kiss." her voice was tired, but ultimately, with some help, she was able to sit up. Ohma cupped her face, doing exactly as he was told. "Quite the show you put up. Care to tell me what that was all about?" taking her hand in his own, he leaned to kiss it also. "Aha... I promised to explain what happened while you were out cold yes? Well..." Kisara sighed, a sheepish expression painting her face. "Just before you woke up, one of the CEOs threatened Katahara with a terrorism act. Basically, a coup d'etat happened. My parents were involved in it. Also... Their fighter violently hit on me, and Raian saved me. Because I rejected him, he dropped out of the competition. I made a deal with a Chairman and my parents, that they would have to write my name in the will, to pass the company to me once they die... If I participate and survive the fight that Tanji was supposed to be in. I was able to befriend and convince both Raian and Agito to train with me, for a day and a half, hence why I was able to do many of these things that I did today. So, uhm... I'm going to become the CEO today." she chuckled wryly, watching with shy eyes the expression on his face. "But your parents aren't dead." her grin widened, making him realise the implication. "You're going to kill them." "I asked you if you would hate me... I can go through anything in life, but if you hate me, I... I don't want to live in a world where you'd hate me, Ohma." the man scoffed, leaning down to place a kiss on her hand. "I'm not an angel, Hasashi Kisara. I have no right to judge you. Whether you go through with it or not, it's your choice." as if on cue, a bodyguard entered the hospital wing. Kisara recognised him as one of the special ops that worked directly under Sayaka's brother, Retsudo. "Ahhhh, there we have her, the champion herself! Katahara asked me to fetch you to his office. You're in for a nice gift, Miss Ceo~!" the blond man sniggered cheekily, watching the red head smirk lightly. "Well, here's my cue. Wait for me, Ohma. I'll be back before you know it." with a kiss on his forehead, Kisara hopped off the bed - Though she wobbled slightly, she easily found her balance and followed Misasa to the Chairman's office. Agito was already there, and he seemed to have fought someone already - By the looks of it, the man that she once saw as a personal bodyguard of Katahara was beaten up big time.
Her parents were already there, kneeling to the ground. Erio Kure was next to his friend, Katahara. Kisara's hand instinctively found its way placed over the hilt of her katana, and she drew it. "Misasa called me - Miss CEO. I kinda like the sound of it." she smirked at the Chairman, who chuckled very amused. "Erio, what do you say? I think Miss Kisara gave a wonderful performance!" the other old man nodded at his friend. "For a civilian, she did well against Wakatsuki." the Kure patriarch agreed. "Can I get my revenge now?" Kisara stretched lightly, feeling her joints aching after the beat down. "Ever so eager and down to business, Miss Kisara! I quite like that!" Katahara laughed more. "I have already taken the liberty of... Persuading your parents uphold their end of the deal. Dear Agito was ever so eager to help you out with your ambition. He seemed satisfied with your match." Agito said nothing, yet what his boss said, he was in agreement with. He didn't expect her to take to heart all his lessons, but she performed so well.  From the ground, her parents were crying and screaming mercy. They wanted to be spared from their ultimate fate. Kisara, however, walked behind them, a triumphant smirk on her face. "Empieza el Matriarcado." the red head spoke, swinging her blade down, as if she was the grim reaper, deaf to her parents' screams, pleas or curses. She watched her father's head roll down on Katahara's carpet, blood splashing about like an artisan fountain. The last victim was her mother, who ended up meeting the same fate as the father. Kisara looked down at the collapsed bodies. She felt nothing. No satisfaction, no victory, no... Nothing. With a sigh, she wiped the blood off her blade over her elbow and stepped over the corpses, in front of Katahara. "So, am I now officially the CEO of the Hasashi Corp?" "Yep!" so jovially, Metsudo confirmed. "That's all! Enjoy being a corporation owner! Now, off you go, pip pip, there are enough matches to see, and I'm sure Agito would love your encouragement!" the old man clapped his hands together, though everyone present seemed confused by his words. "Well... I suppose I should thank you for sorting everything out for me. Uh... Assassination has never been easier. Thanks." though she awkwardly scratched the back of her hair, she ultimately exited the room.
By the time she was done with the succession war, Mikazuchi Rei had already lost against the great Kuroki Gensai, and it was now Hatsumi's fight against the Fang himself. It was going to be a great fight.  As Kisara went to give her encouragements for her master, he was walking towards the arena with Ohma by his side. With a cheerful grin, he slung his arm around the girl's shoulders, pushing Tokita away, and getting her for a swift training session - Just like they would do, on top of the mountain. He was down to business and needed to train his speed. Even when exhausted and beaten up, Kisara was the fastest opponent Hatsumi encountered. He needn't say any word to guide her in this training - She knew very well exactly what to do. Little by little, Kisara started moving faster, until finally, her Senpai was able to get in the right form to perform the evasive maneuver that she loved so much, to the point that it looked as though her hits were simply moving through him. Kisara has used that trick once - Would it work on Agito also?
"A'ight, thanks angel, you got me into top gear. Now I can beat up your new friend." he chuckled, patting her head. "Hatsumi Senpai is the best fighter here! I'm sure, whatever the outcome, the fight will be fantastic. Do your best, Senpai!" with such a cheerful encouraging, how could he not melt? Especially after seeing her do her best against Wakatsuki, of all people. "Of cooourse, of course, Princess! Now, off you go to that boyfriend of yourself. The big guys are gonna have a little fight." he turned around, seeing the Fang walk menacingly towards the middle of the arena. "Oh - Agito, hi again! Good luck!" Hatsumi blanched, seeing his own apprentice also wish well to his own enemy, and with such a sweet smile too. He hung his head, watching as she left for her boyfriend, who was telling Yamashita Kazuo about his old master, Tokita Niko, and how much Hatsumi reminded him of this guy... But Kisara also had the unfortunate skill of doing the very same thing, from time to time.
Hatsumi looked that guy up and down, and seeing all the damage from the second round all healed up, he cursed Gaolang for his inaptitude of at least injuring him properly. For a world champion, he didn't make his job any easier. He watched Kano crack his knuckles as the ref had them take their stances.
Agito took an upright stance - Something that he used to do a lot when he was younger and had just inherited his title of Fang - All while Hatsumi walked towards him as if he was taking a stroll. As soon as the Aikido master got close to Agito, he was met with a left low kick that made a halberd-like sigh on the ground that it split. The Fang watched Kisara fight, and more, for a whole day, he had trained her - Hasashi Kisara, the one who trained for four years under the tutelage of Hatsumi Sen and his own Aikido style. There was bound to be enough common techniques - And he was ready for them all - And thus, he surprised Sen with a left middle kick of the same effect, hitting his arm, then switched to a straight jab that got him in the forearm, close to his wrist. He was blown backwards by the impact.
Agito's third blow was a right low kick that got his enemy on the knee - But what had brought about this sudden change? His fighting style was all different from the first two rounds, and even what he did as he trained Kisara. Was that fight he just had a turning point? A revelation, maybe? Though Agito now delivered a heavy round house kick as soon as Hatsumi's guard dropped - He had evaded him. That shit-eating smug grin of his, wretched and wicked, made the Fang realise that the master was a much of a trickster as the student was. Kisara once told him - If a Kitsune has seven tricks up her sleeve, a Tanuki has eight. Given her chosen stage name, she was one with the clear disadvantage. So, Sen was a Tanuki. Should have expected something of this magnitude. "Come on, you could at least let me counter-attack. Well...  Alright. I'll just have to land one next time." his tone seemed ominous, as he stood up straight, unlike his head which was tilted to the side, as if mimicking Michael Myers himself.
"Hatsumi was a nominee to become the next Fang, when he was just 28 years old." Kisara told Ohma and Kazuo, who seemed surprised. "He gave up quickly on the idea though. Far too much boring, repetitive work... And too many expectations. For a fleeting guy like him... He can't stick to anything too long. He got bored after a week." Kisara smiled lightly. "That's my Senpai." "Miss Kisara, you were able to do this technique yourself. Would you tell us the basic of it?" the old CEO asked, fixing his glasses. "It's simple, in theory, but you need a lot of momentum and speed. The basis of it is that you shift your knee to evade the attack, using as little movement as possible. Your axis line isn't supposed to move, so it looks as if your whole body is still." she explained. "But that doesn't matter now. Agito changed his fighting style. Instead of starting a match by attempting to beat the opponent at their own game, he started with his own Fang style, with which he debuted, meaning that Hatsumi needs to change his tactics and force Agito to play by his rules." thus, Hatsumi sprinted like a lightning bolt towards his enemy and easily evaded a kick to his face by crouching to the side, landing his first blow at Agito's side. "Using the same technique, and perfect calculations of the distances, he dodged whilst making Agito believe his hit landed. He was able to get into his kicking range, which means he's going to attempt to go for the elbow joints. I tried that on Agito myself, hoping to attempt that on my match against Wakatsuki. It didn't work with my strength, so I stopped trying. But Hatsumi is a man, and he's far stronger than me. He might pull it off." as if she could read her senpai's mind, he did, word by word and step by step, exactly as the girl expected, getting the Fang into a tight Elbow Hold. "Ohhh! That was a perfect Diagonal Straight blow! This is practically checkmate - It's only a matter of time before he breaks his joint! If he tries to escape, he'll be attacked while he's defenseless. Not even the Fang could come out unscathed after being attacked somewhere he can't harden, like that technique he used, similar to Ohma's. He can't redirect the impact of a blow from that posture either." Yamashita gasped, awestruck at the miracle happening before him. "Knowing The Fang, he won't get down so easily." Ohma muttered, watching attentively the match. "Based on that face of his, Hatsumi has a follow up plan to this. He's expecting Agito to get out. He's baiting him." Kisara smirked confidently, watching Agito throw a round-house kick from that extraordinarily awkward and painful position, only to get hit with Hatsumi Sen's ultimate technique, the Gathering Clouds: Triple Strike. A technique that strikes the three vital points on the opponent's face in rapid succession.
But it had failed, and Hatsumi found himself staring in complete horror at his fucked up finger, whilst the Fang was unharmed. Never once has Kisara seen anyone being able to counter that Power move, nor was she able to pin down what exactly did Agito do. Her Senpai seemed to be in trouble, as he leapt back, trying to create some distance, only for his enemy to close the distance with fantastic speed and strength, landing a blow towards his temple, that ultimately hit his eye also.
"... Did Agito just use Muay Thai?!" Kisara's jaw was to the floor, seeing her new friend using the 'Elbow meant to defeat' technique that she was briefly shown by Gaolang at some point. Had Agito become the Renaissance Man, and could now perform any fighting style at any given time, and switch between them at his leisure?
He didn't follow up with the same style, instead opting for another powerful middle kick, outright destroying Sen's forearm. Agito seemed to think more during this match. He wasn't so linear anymore. Instead, his tactics seemed to have evolved greatly. Even with Hatsumi in peak condition, Agito was outright humiliating him. Kisara's hands were holding each other almost painfully - Though she knew Hatsumi still had a secret technique up his sleeve, she didn't believe he would defeat this iteration of the Fang.
Gosh, how he hated himself. Hatsumi truly hated himself so badly. Even with these four years inspired by his cute little angel, he couldn't stop himself from being so pathetic. He put her up on a pedestal, praising her, congratulating her for even the littlest of tasks - And though she did the same to him, he couldn't change. She was, in terms of mental condition, everything he strived for but could never be. Ultimately, Hatsumi Sen will forever be the greatest loser, in his eyes more than anyone else's.
He had his sights set on this day. He even put in some effort, which wasn't his gist at all - But it was fine! He'd do anything to take down that son of a bitch. He entered the tournament 100% sure that he could beat him down and win - So it would be pretty pathetic if he were to lose now, especially when his cute apprentice was watching, right? He couldn't fail, especially in such a humiliating manner, after that fantastic show she put on display for everyone.
Crouching and evading another punch, Hatsumi slammed his palm into Agito's chin as his other hand was on his waist and one of his feet was throwing him off balance, while with the other he was keeping himself steady - His special, secret technique was successful!
"WH-WHAT DID HE JUST DO?! HE CAN'T HAVE DONE THAT MUCH DAMAGE WITH A BLOW FROM THAT CLOSE RANGE!" Yamashita shrieked in disbelief, whilst Ohma could only stare with wide eyes as Hatsumi failed. "That's... The technique I used against Takeshi to make him fall to the ground, though you can't compare the strength output of the two of us. From the looks of it, Hatsumi must have felt his body being ran through by a spear." Kisara had a sad smile on her face, though she was very proud of her senpai. "Hatsumi thought me about initiative in a fight... To think he would be defeated by counter-initiative... It's almost ironic." she shook her head., watching as Agito attempted to elbow him unconscious - With his last bit of strength, Hatsumi pushed forward, catching him off balance, forcing him to give up on the elbow hit, in detriment for a shirt grab. But he's got Agito by the hips, thus, easily detecting the change in his center of gravity and respond immediately. "That's a smart move. He's not going down without a fight." Ohma nodded in approval of her Senpai, explaining the reason behind his posture. "We might have a bit of a deadlock, 'cause now Kano Agito's gotta be careful how he moves." "And considering how big he is, any twitch is going to be even easier to detect." Kisara added to his statement. Hatsumi felt the perfect moment to strike - And as soon as he's done it... Agito countered with the One Inch Punch that speared through him once more, going further for a follow up.
Hatsumi hoped, with the distance, that he would be able to deflect whatever hit gets thrown his way, but it took a kick to his elbow to throw him off guard, and another to the head, to make him fall to the ground, unconscious. As soon as Agito was declared the winner of the match, and though her body was still aching, Kisara ran to their side, gathering Hatsumi up from the ground, and holding him in her lap. "Agito - You've evolved beautifully. It was your best match, if you ask me. You can only go upwards from here. Well done." she smiled sweetly at him, though he could only stare in confusion at her. "I almost killed your master. You should be angry at me." he noted simply. "He, as well as everyone else, entered the tournament, knowing very well the kind of people to be encountered. I'm not angry at you, nor do I have a reason to be. You just showed me a fantastic match... And... I hope you'll agree to training me again some day." that serene, sunshine smile of hers bewildered the Fang even more, yet he only grunted as a reply, watching as she carefully brushed away the man's hair from his face. He wasn't her partner - Just a master - So why was she caring for him? Was he missing something? Was there something he didn't understand, out of every encounter she had with all the fighters around? Was there something more to these 'friendships' that she created? "Fa Jin." the man nodded at her, only to see her smiling even more happily at him as he revealed the proper name for the technique that put an end to it all. He had taught her the easier variation of it, what he had used as a kick to take Naoya down, but this was far more complicated to pull off properly, especially for a little one like her. A master like Kano could launch a high-power one inch punch at point-blank range and kill a man in one blow. It was lucky that Hatsumi subconsciously diverted the impact. Once Agito walked away, out of the Arena, Kisara was startled by Hatsumi. "Shit, I lost in front of an angel. How pathetic." the medics moved him away, though she was holding his wrist gingerly.  "Well, the angel also lost. Let's be pathetic together, okay, Senpai?" that crystalline, easy-going giggle of her only made him feel worse. It was him who taught her how to throw away all worries in the world - Why couldn't he truly do the same, but only mask it with that stupid, dumb facade of his? "SEN! STAY WITH US, HATSUMI! DR. HANAFUSA'S ON HIS WAY!" Miss Shion cried out in shock, terrified for his life. "I just wanna smoke." without another word, Kisara looked at Shion, who handed him a lit cigarette, though dared not speak. "This ain't gonna kill me. I just need a little rest, that's all." the red head took out a handkerchief, and holding his face carefully, started wiping away at the blood caking his face. Shion, too, knelt by his side and tried to care for him. "Gah, how humiliating. Good grief." he puffed from his cigarette, his heart shattered, as well as all of his hopes. He then felt his messy hair being ruffled, and he looked down at that tender smile - Yet he couldn't reciprocate. "Stop being so upset over what happened. You're alive and that's all that matters. You know what Gaolang said after his fight? There's only going upwards from here. Isn't that right, Hatsumi SENpai?" he tsk'ed, looking away. How could she give him advice from other men?! How annoying. "I know your fighter pride is wounded, but I'd rather have my senpai alive, and defeated, than with his skull cracked open. I have been once at the funeral of my best friend. We were 23... About the time that I have met you. Remember? I never told you this - But, I mean it. I don't want to see any of my friends laying down in a coffin ever again. There are far more important things in life than a defeat. At the end of the day, this is a tournament, and every fighter here, expect for one, will experience defeat. The fact that one of them was you changes nothing."  she threw her arms around the man's throbbing body, as he stiffened hearing her words. He had never heard of this friend of hers, nor the funeral. He didn't want to imagine the sight of a friend in a coffin, nor them being lowered into the ground. Her words held truth, yes... But at least, at the moment, he was going to grovel and wallow in self-hatred at how disgustingly pitiful he is. "Hey, Hatsumi." she pulled apart slightly, making him look into her eyes. They were such a beautiful shade of green. And they held life. Vitality. Energy. Damn, that Substitute prick has no idea what a lucky man he is. "We did our best. Both of us. Okay? Though we lost, I'm not giving up on myself, nor on you... So... Don't give up on me or yourself, okay? In fact - Let's be pathetic together!" Hatsumi's exhausted eyes shot wide open, and his mouth agape - The cigarette fell from his mouth, making Shion reach out to take it so it wouldn't burn his fighting clothes. She had told him the very same words that he himself spoke to her once he saved her from that gang of thugs in the alley, when he agreed to train her. With a chuckle, he reached out his hand to pat her head, mimicking her. "Yeah. Let's."
Though the day had quite the start to it, it was bound to change, for better or for worse. As Kisara saw Hatsumi to his infirmary room, she went to take a quick shower and change back into her normal clothes. In her search for Ohma, she picked her brush from her room and started brushing her hair throughout the made-like corridors of the dome, in search for the very man himself - Only for some kind of dark whirlwind of fantastic speed to capture her and drag her to hell knew what spot outside. It was Kiryu Setsuna.
Lucky for Kisara, Kushida Rin had witnessed the kidnapping and ran all the way to the Yamashita fighter and panted as she warned the strong man. "Kushida Rin. What's the hurry?" he asked, looking down at her exhausted form.  "It's Kisara, she's in trouble?" her name alone was enough to make the brunet freeze with worry - Though he knew Kisara could take care of herself, especially highlighted after the match against his future opponent, he didn't want to risk.  "What's wrong with Hasashi Kisara?" he asked quickly. "If we don't do something quick, Kisara will be killed!" the fatalistic urgency put the man on edge, and he shot like a bullet to rescue his lover.
One hour remained until the semifinals begin.
