Da Big 'Un IZ FINALLLY 'EHE! Also gorts for scale.
This was my attempt to force myself to learn lighting effects, I'm still terrible at it, but I think irl it looks quite good, and I'm prideful of the fact I even finished him.
Okay, one more model for the year! This is Kruleboyz Gutrippa Boss Haggok, which I got in my Stormbringer subscription. It was my first time painting a Kruleboy, and while I don’t think I’ll be painting an army of them, he was an interesting model to paint. I like how he echos pre-slotta Citadel Orcs.
Ive been super busy recently so I hadn't had the time to post. So I guess Ill chop through the things I worked on in chunks.
Finished up Anvilsmasha. Super proud of how he came out. I need to figure out what happened to all my gamer grass because all of my bases need some color on them as you will see.
Here's the rest of my orktober. More goblin than ork, but its still greenskin. I got me some stabbas as well as the braggits bottle smash regiment of renown as well as the grikks kruleshots regiment of renown. You might be able to see the loonboss and gobbapalooza models that still need paint. Plenty more greenskinz to paint, but with orktober drawing to a close my attention moved to other more orderly things.
Will do some airbrush osl with the remain orcs, i do want to be better with this technique and understand the color saturation among the miniature
As i was unsure about the colors but that week i got my hands on some fluo colors from Vallejo, though on paintings a group and make each mini light connected to others, so in game those will seem as a group
Next post will have the orcs finished with this sketchup colors
I like to change my bigger units a bit, It's jarring to me when I see identical copies of some very detailed monsters in diffrent armies.
First one was supposed to be agressive, maybe enchanted/mutated to better play into the scavenging part of my army - noone understands where the living stone arm came from they just found it in that ancient ruin, but they sure now where they can stab it into.
Second one is supposed to be more aquatic, maybe a creature that was taken out of some lake hidden in passages deep underground.
Idk if this works at all if you don't know the intent behind it, but I like it so it stays.
For day one, I painted up one of the gnarlwood trees. It takes well to drybrush, but I wish I primed it brown. The bone and and bamboo would have looked better. Not sure how I would have done the wood though.
Now I have some more fantasy friendly terrain to post minis with. Score!
