jon gets his sweet tooth from middle eastern desserts and nothing else. u know i used to be very pro “lots of milk and sugar in his tea” jon but ive never known a syrian who puts milk in tea, only sugar. might be a my family thing so i will refrain from adjusting on that front. but he does put a lot of sugar and mint in his black tea

ive said it before jon is a weirdo he drinks black turkish coffee by the mugful. by the MUG!!

his teta would make ka’ak and klejah (sp?) and like.. man those are treats as tea biscuits like there is a sense of pride eating those things they just register different on the taste buds w tea esp klejah!!

i think he’s only been to syria once if at all but like. you dont visit syria bc youre a tourist even if the country is very beautiful (its so beautiful i want to go back so bad shjfjd) but you go for family. if jon and his teta were isolated in bournemouth and im guessing his teta probably wouldnt have talked to many people or maybe had any living relatives? like whats the point of going and staying at a hotel you know like. theres a specific joy of going to see your cousins and aunts and uncles and i think he just didnt have that.

jon has no clue how to make molokhia. the recipe died w his grandmother and there literally isnt a single recipe online that will help him. theyre either written by someone from Not Syria (meaning its completely different) or its like. the soup version?? whats up with that. hes tried to like recreate it but cant and doesnt have the time to chase down anyone who can teach him.
