with the way mauh lihzeh dismisses male keepers as being 'better in small doses' i've always kind of assumed the tradition of naming them after their mothers was born from a feeling that they aren't worth the trouble of coming up with individual names for (which, to be clear, would be hilarious if true) but i think it's probably more likely that since male keepers are prone to wandering, their mother's name has the same general effect as the colored tattoos that are supposed to give them menphina's protection. it's a sort of charm intended to insure they never forget where (and more specifically who) they came from so they can always find their way home
For a while I was a little face four miqo and she got bullied for having a darker nose. I won't repeat what they said but I was just annoyed at how people can't let others just enjoy what they made.
I brought her back a little bit!! Even though my viera is my one true love!!
