LE TEMPS D'AIMER - Comme avec son film précédent Suzanne, Katell Quillévéré nous offre à nouveau un grand moment de cinéma. Nous retrouvons ici la singularité qui fait la force de cette réalisatrice : beauté absolue de la photographie, composition et lumières, maîtrise du traitement de la temporalité (et de l'art de l'ellipse) sur une période qui se prolonge sur sur une vingtaine d'années. Réussite également pour ce "film d'époque" au caractère mélodramatique qui sait éviter les pièges de l'un et de l'autre. Ainsi parvient-il à nous éblouir par son traitement résolument moderne.

Ce récit, aussi intense que sensible, amène une réflexion fine sur la psychologie de personnages marqués au fer rouge par la société. Katell Quillivere film avec justesse la destinée d'une femme, la complexité de la maternité, de la sexualité, du couple. Les questions identitaires qui traversent le temps, amènent à repenser encore notre société actuelle.

Cette jolie pépite est une magnifique peinture de deux personnages qui n'auraient pas dû se rencontrer et qui pourtant prendront "le temps de s'aimer". Leur incarnation par Anais Demoustier et surtout Vincent Lacoste (qui joue un rôle à contre emploi) est prodigieuse. L'évolution de cette femme tondue d'après guerre, et de cet homme diminué par la poliomyélite, est passionnante et souvent surprenante. Ils sont fabuleux et il est difficile de quitter ces deux personnages.

NOTE 17/20 - Hymne à l'Amour, foi en la possibilité d'une réparation (thème cher à la réalisatrice), Le temps d'aimer est un bijou précieux à la fois universel et très contemporain.

Inertie de l’industrie de la mode oblige, ces acteurs ne sont passés à l’action qu’en 2015, grâce au manifeste de la célèbre prévisionniste de tendances néerlandaise ; Lidewij Edelkoort. Focus sur ce projet qui dessine déjà l’avenir de la mode… Genèse du projet : Lidewij Edelkoort Pour ceux qui ne connaissent pas Lidewij Edelkoort, c’est un peu la Madame Irma de la mode. C’est elle qui prédit les tendances depuis près de 40 ans. Celle que l’on surnomme “la Pythie de l’industrie”, est connue pour son bureau des tendances parisien “Trend Union” ainsi que ses studios d’études éponymes présents à l’étranger. 2015 signe le début d’une nouvelle ère : la fashion prophète publie le manifeste “Anti_Fashion Project” comme réponse à une industrie dépassée. Anti-Fashion Project, kezako ? Bien plus qu’un projet visant à rendre l’industrie de la mode responsable, Anti_Fashion Project, c’est surtout une plateforme participative où idées, initiatives et réflexions s'entremêlent. Le but étant de créer et nourrir une nouvelle industrie de mode transparente avec en bonus l'aspect collaboratif. Le projet se concrétise grâce à des workshops, des rencontres mais également un programme de mentoring destiné aux jeunes de quartiers populaires. Le plus ? Que vous soyez étudiants, salariés, ou même sans activité, tous les acteurs de cette industrie, de l’industriel au consommateur, sont les bienvenus pour penser le futur de la mode ! i’ve been on here for like 1+ years and haven’t actually done a writeblr intro post yet, so i’m finally putting myself out there!

i’m kate! i’m 16, use she/her pronouns, and have been writing since i was a tiny kateling. my current wip is a sleeping beauty retelling called the sleeping prince, and it’s book one in a trilogy - the eltheri chronicles. tsp is basically sleeping beauty except with no creepy kissing-sleeping-people, and it focuses on building healthy trusting relationships, be it romantic, platonic, or familial (there’s a focus on mother-son relationships). there’s also themes of colonialism, and a post-war setting. also, it’s gay. like, really really really gay.

Who is in the Dark | Katell & Leo

Katell let the flame engulf her hand. She’d been taking a walk to breath. There was chaos at the party, new powers among people and it was leading to experimentation.

Katell was only hoping to find a moment alone but then she felt it, that ominous feeling of eyes on your back from the darkness. She used her new flames to illuminate the darkness outside but saw nothing.

“Hello?” she called out, hoping for an answer and dreading it at the same time.

This is unbelievable. It was only a few M&M’s! A few darn M&M’s and he lost his wings. Literally! He knew he shouldn’t have trusted this place. It was such a rookie mistake and he fell right into the trap!

With his weakened senses, he could barely make out any sounds or movements in the dark. The only thing he did truly felt was the fizzling sparks on the tips of his fingers. Like a sort of power that was building up on his palms. He flexed his hands and flinched back at the sparks that lit up at the movements. At the same time, the brief light was able to display the person who was now in front of him. “Son of a bitch!” He jumped back at the sudden flame.

Katell was once a duchess of the Seelie Court, an important figure amounts her people and a beloved young Fae of her family. This, however, is no longer the case.

Daughter of the Ruling Queen’s sister, Katell was a powerful prodigy and though 5th in line, she was expected to support her ruling cousins. She was well educated and raised in absolute luxury and beauty. She upheld her courts traditions and carved herself a place amongst her people. A Starlight Fae, beautiful and bewitching, she spent her days dancing and singing Fae music for the court balls. Katell enjoyed the spotlight placed on her grace. She flourished under the attention and especially that of a Lord Daley Grey.

Though she is in her 9th century, Katell is considered a rather young Fae. How could anyone blame such a young girl for being swept away by the handsome and charming Daley. The young man romanced and courted her. She soon fell in love.

But Daley’s Father had other plans. Lord Marcas Grey urged his son to court the girl and find out whatever he could. When Daley returned with Katell’s true name, Marcas had what he needed. His actions were small at first, gathering wealth and title for his family through Katell, but soon his favours became too large. Marcas was greedy for power and ordered Katell to commit atrocities. She blackmailed others, stole prized relics and even killed for Marcas, but she had no choice. Having her true name, Marcas could command her to do anything he wanted.

It was one of his orders that truly ruined her life. Marcas set his eyes on power in not one, but both courts. It was forbidden to remain a part of the Unseelie and Seelie courts, but Marcas thought he could manage with powerful glamours and the death of a high ranking Unseelie courtier. Katell was ordered to kill the fae and return with his things so Marcas could take his place, but she was caught.

The Unseelie were furious as was her own court. Katell hoped to come clean but Marcas’ last action was to stop her from revealing anything. She was trapped, without the ability to point the blame and no proof to explain her innocence she was doomed, not to mention Marcas was far more talented at skipping around the truth than her. Katell was found guilty, the Unseelie King demanded punishment and so Katell’s own Aunt, Queen Tatiana, banished her from court. It was a mercy to spare her life but in Katell’s mind it was just as horrible as death.

Disgraced and Heartbroken, Katell left her Seelie home. It was bad enough that her heart had been broken, now she was alone in a strange world, the world of the mundane. Still, she retained some friends and alliances who helped her adjust to life among mortals. It was a shock going from the lap of luxury to the boring responsibilities of life. She was forced to be independent and rely on her own skills, of which she had little that did any good. The money she’d managed to secure was quickly being wasted away as Katell worked to recreate her courtier lifestyle in Dublin and she refused to part with any of her possessions. Her only option was now to find a job of some kind.

Her good friend Enid Luckstone, who’d helped her most in her adjustments, was the one to encourage Katell to attend school first. Enid found the pamphlets for The Institute and it’s marvellous grant program. Katell applied for the program and upon acceptance, she took herself and her wardrobe of fairy gowns and jewels fit for a queen to the island school.

Though she was outfitted like a queen, she was shocked to find herself in chains. From Duchess of the Seelie court to slave, could her fall from grace have been any worse?

Domfront nous offre son soleil matinal en cadeau de départ. Direction Le Havre, l’ultime date de cette tournée Chansons Primeurs. Les visages sont graves et les traits tirés. La nuit a été courte. Hier soir, nous ne voulions pas nous quitter alors nous avons dormi tous ensemble dans la même pièce. La vérité est que nous n’avions pas le choix, il ne restait plus que ce gîte réformé dans les 100 km à la ronde, gardé par un berger de Beauce, ostensiblement en surpoids. De plus, Ignatus connaissait déjà les lieux, pour y être descendu quelques semaines plus tôt, après sa conférence sur les Michel dans la chansons françaises. Il avait adoré l’ambiance champêtre et bucolique de la cuisine au feu de bois, sans télévision, sans wifi et sans 4G, l’odeur des pieds de cochon en gelé et des couvres lit vert pomme en tuft véritable avec motif chenille ondulée. Après avoir déposé nos affaires, Marjolaine organisa un concours de saut en longueur dans l’immense couloir du 1er étage. Chacun sauta plusieurs fois dans une ambiance de stade, la compétition devint vite âpre, comme si chacun y jouait sa vie. Lorsque nos pieds joints retombaient sur la moquette bleu pétrole, la bâtisse entière tremblait et un rideau de poussière s’abattait joyeusement sur nos épaules. Au 5ème passage, nous étions enfin en retard pour effectuer nos balances. Le parquet ancien commençait à montrer des signes de faiblesse mais personne n’avait encore égalé le record de Marjolaine, un saut de près de 2m exécuté avec grâce et élégance. Nous étions arrivés à la dernière concurrente et dernier espoir d’exploit. Katel s’élança en donnant tout ce qu’il lui restait de rage. Personne ne saura si le record fut battu ou non, puisque nous eûmes la surprise de la voir transpercer brutalement le sol moquetté, dans un bruit sec de fagot qu’on casse, accompagné d’un juron. Cela arrêta net notre compétition. En lieu et place du parquet, il y avait maintenant un grand trou de la forme de Katel d’où s'échappait un nuage de poussière et une odeur de chenil. Nous nous précipitâmes dans les escaliers pour féliciter notre championne, par chance, celle ci avait rebondie sur le beauceron dodu qui montait la garde au rez-de-chaussé. Le chien semblait bien vexé et aboyait comme un bâtard, heureusement Alexis HK lui parla doucement, de sa voix grave et mélodieuse, bientôt celui-ci vint lui lécher le visage abondamment et nous pûmes récupérer Katel, saine et sauve. Il était temps de partir, le concert devait débuter dans 5 minutes.

La salle était déjà pleine lorsque nous arrivâmes. L’équipe du Printemps de la Chanson avait rajouté des rangées de chaises pour les 35% de personnes d’ordinaires contre les concerts, la vaccination et contre le pass sanitaire. Une délégation de France 3 Normandie avait même été dépêché pour réaliser une mini-série documentaire de 3 minutes sur cette incroyable aventure qu’est Chansons Primeurs. Ignatus et oim, devions assurer la première partie avec les chansons que nous avions créé en janvier avec les jeunes de Passais et Céaucé. Comme le prix des places était de 49,99€ avec la carte culture, nous avions perdu une large partie de notre effectif, seuls 8 élèves, plus motivés ou plus fortunés, montèrent avec nous sur scène. Dès le premier morceau, Mc Ignatus transforma cet innocent tour de chant en un open mic bien sale, un genre de battle slam, reggae, ragga, dance hall, crew contre crew. Bientôt, les élèves de 6ème laissèrent tomber leur texte pour invectiver la foule qui répondait par des noms d’oiseaux, avec la syllabe « orn ». Un gros brouillard de weed locale envahissait l’ancien tribunal devenu salle Multiculturelle de Passais-la-Conception, nous enchaînâmes sur nos chansons primeures. On se serait cru dans un planète rap de déglingos avec toutes les stars du pera français. Luciole, championne d’Europe de slam à Aubervilliers, plia le game en rappel, en clashant l’auditoire avec ses rimes en ule. Nous terminâmes la soirée autour d’un alcool local à base de poires fermentées avec notre public, OKLM.

Après deux heures de route et d’anecdotes sur le métier de régisseur son à l'ère du numérique, Patrice et moi, sommes les premiers arrivés au Havre. Il fait super beau comme toujours ici, ça me fait tout bizarre de revenir dans cette ville, même si elle a un peu changé depuis que j’en suis parti en 2005, je retrouve son musc portuaire si particulier qui me plonge déjà dans une douce nostalgie de ces 10 jours passés en compagnie de cette fine équipe de chansons primeurs.

I heard some very inexpected news today and I’m deeply shaken. I was away for work and when my husband called me to tell me, I started crying in the middle of the train station.

When I was in high school I had this close friend. She was brilliant and beautiful and although our friendship didn’t last nearly long enough, I loved her very much. In May 1995, during our first year at uni, her little brother (who was 13) found her dead at their parents’ home. She had been strangled and - I wasn’t sure at the time but now I know - raped. She had just turned 19, I was 18. Three hundred people attended her funeral. The policemen came to my home and asked me questions, as they likely did to all the people who were close to her. They took DNA samples from all the boys and men who were at the funeral, including my boyfriend at the time. They found nothing, and we never knew who had killed her... until today. Twenty-three years later, they got a match on the DNA from a man who was selling pictures door-to-door at the time. She probably just opened the door while she was alone at home. I’m shaking writing all this. I never thought I would know more about it. I think about her often, even after all these years. My older daughter’s third name is hers. I’m 41 now, I have a husband, two daughters, a job, I’ve travelled, I’ve had a life, and she’s still 19.

Aujourd’hui, je dédie mon deuxième article au monde de la parfumerie naturelle. Katell Plisson était la première. Deux parfumeurs aux univers bien différents mais tous deux dévoués à leur art.  Nicolas est un parfumeur pas comme les autres. Il est aussi historien, conteur et amoureux des matières premières. Avant d'embrasser son destin de Santa Muerte, Katell était une fillette pleine de vie. Depuis toute petit elle possède un don rare, celui de voir les fantômes mais un don que Katell, à ses dépens, va apprendre très tôt à garder secret. Autrefois remplis de joie de vivre la malheureuse va peu à peu subir une existence des plus douloureuse, en partie dû au tragique décès de son père à l'âge de 13 ans. Un soir un Ankou lui rend visite aux portes de la mort et lui annonce que le seul moyen de la sauver et de la tuer.

Un sujet très intéressant, j'ai beaucoup apprécié cette histoire et il me tarde déjà de connaître la suite. La plume de Laëtitia Danaé est fluide, agréable et efficace, on tourne très facilement les pages. J'ai adoré Katell et Miséricorde m'a beaucoup intrigué mais à l'inverse Aurora ainsi qu'à ma grande surprise Amaury (sur la fin) m'ont eux agacé. Le folklore est génial, je rêve de voir un Helhest en vrai et je me suis parfaitement imaginé déambuler dans les ruelles de la VillaSanta, sentant presque le parfum des fleurs habillant les balcons en parcourant ce roman. La parution du tome 2 est prévue pour 2022, et croyez-moi je n'ai jamais été aussi impatient de revoir La Mort.
