#just had a strange dream #actually not all that strange and could easily be a reality if I'm not careful #in the dream my sister was desperately trying to get pregnant and I was desperately praying I wasn't #the dream ended before the test showed if I was or not but dream me was already making plans to get an abortion #I have never had and desire to be pregnant or have a baby #irl my sister has had a hard time getting pregnant. they're not actively trying but her husband doesn't like condoms #so she's gotten pregnant a few times #and miscarried several times #and that's tragic and I feel for her #but if I wound up unwittingly pregnant I would still make sure my family never found out and I'd get rid of it #I know my sister would probably pay me out the ass for the baby #but I don't want to sacrifice my body and potentially my life for her #the idea of being pregnant and giving birth is horrifying to me #besides my sister won't be a good mom especially if it wasn't hers #she's a wannabe influencer and any children she has will be props to make her look good #she and her husband are far too selfish and emotionally immature to give a kid the emotional support they'd need #and I wouldn't put any child of mine through that #I woke up with only one thought: that I need to get an IUD before they wind up banned across the US #I'm afraid of how much it will hurt because I've heard some horror stories but I'm terrified of getting pregnant more #tbh I'd get sterilized if I could

the absolutely Vivid reality based chronological dream i had last night. man

#i got a job at like... an automobile warehouse or something? #we had to change a large trucks tires... #and i was sent to get some more from across the block or whatever #and its more complicated than that - there were conversations and interactions with people etc #and i was trying to find it but it was all like... in this corridor shopping mall? #the signs were western themed and listed items that you could get in that store #though i think it was all free? #anyway at some point it opened into a restaurant and i had a friend there who was carrying a plate for people who left prematurely #so i of course started shoveling it into my mouth - free food! but their manager caught us #and i had to be all 'hey i work around here im just lookin for tires and no one was gonna eat this anyway' #it was like... a rice/mango/cream thing...? strange because i dont like mangoes! #long story short i had to go back for the tires bc i wound up forgetting them. something about a dog.... #i was too late in getting the tires so i had to go sort rubber bolts instead :/ at least the warehouse was cool #absolutely unprompted #but it was very. linear. and it felt very real. like it was genuinely a place and a job that could exist #like i remember what the outside loading area looked like. the packed restaurant. the corridor. the warehouse. the lockers. the hallway #IF I HAD A BETTER MEMORY I STG I COULD MAP IT OUT #god i love my dreams. they're always plot based and im rarely myself <3

Dream telling Hob about all his names when they meet again is sweet, but I think it would be funnier if he just didn't. Showed up 33 years late, immediately admitted they're friends, sits down, asks Hob about what he's been up to, forwards absolutely no information of his own until Hob tentatively asks him what happened, and the Stranger just goes "oh I was detained. It wasn't because of you that I didn't show up. I'm sorry" and doesn't elaborate. Hob thinks the friendship isn't actually solid enough to pry past the guy's very much too guarded eyes, so they keep on this charade of Hob Gadling and his Very Strange Friend. Dream doesn't even tell him he's not the one allowing him to keep living.

I have feelings about this I don't actually think the persevering anonimity is funnier, I think Dream cherishing Hob's willingness to call him friend just because he wants to and not because he knows him as Dream of the Endless with Hob actually just liking him as the Stranger and being distraught he didn't show up and then happy he did, is actually the sweetest scenario.

2023 in review! I made an effort to try more things and it worked mostly (at least for TV and movies). New things, new-to-me things, and new installments of old things all had characters to love even if I didn't necessarily feel fannish about them, and I'm hoping 2024 does, too.

Good grief I have many an oc… I’ve spoken vaguely about my mains online BUT I keep it vague for privacy stuff lol. The main set are from a story me and a close friend began IRL years ago that was all but abandoned after the pandemic. They aren’t really into it anymore so essentially I’ve been given free reign over them. However… I have no set plan on what we’re gonna do. We both love art so we’ve considered making it into like a webcomic or a book but neither of us know. It’s just this series stuck in my head. I keep things vague with them love in case we ever do get around to making this a real published thing (also because I am… 60% sure said friend has a tumblr and Do Not Want Them To Find Me.)

#shocked with myself (maybe pleasantly surprised? is the right phrase) #at actually liking barbie a great deal more than i had prepared myself to #it was just a lot more sincere than i had expected; i was afraid it wouldn't be/be more on the snarky side of cinema lately #but it was strangely so much more heartfelt than that #of course some points felt rushed/too on the nose #but the girls and ryan gosling made me so happy #and her at the end saying (spoilers obvs) that yes YES she does want to take life by the hand and pay the price to live and live #also as a former representative of unrequited love the throughline felt a lot gentler than i was prepared for it to be #it was a lot more about emotion and the joy of growing up and growing old than i expected #i don't necessarily think its heart is as pure as a truly great movie?? #but it didn't laugh AT you. it made you laugh and it also meant what it said #which idk idk in a sea of endless winks at the camera laughing obnoxiously loudly media i appreciated the at least #wanting to live and live well aspect of it all and how it took that seriously #like someone on my dash said. i don't really know if it was a good movie?? but the borders of my mind are stretched #something in me is dreaming because of it. so i think that at least is worth it all #also all the girls in the theater laughing their heads off did something to me!!! #there were countless friends (including mine) decked out in pink and it was so so so sweet to me #(anyway. you didn't need these thoughts and maybe I'll retract it later when I've come down from the high of hugging both my buddies)
