J [Luna Sea] Birth Chart 101
Tumblr media
Jun Onose - Born August 12th 1970 (8/12/70) I don’t have a birth time for J so I don’t have his rising/houses
Sun: Leo Moon: Sagittarius Mercury: Virgo Venus: Libra Mars: Leo Jupiter: Libra  Saturn: Taurus Uranus: Libra Neptune: Scorpio Pluto: Virgo
Table of Contents: J Birth Chart Inner Planets/Luminaries: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars Inner Combinations: Sun + Moon, Mercury + Venus + Mars Outer Planets: Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus, Pluto Extra Things: Quotes that show J’s chart well
J BIRTH CHART
Tumblr media
Sun: Ego - Base Personality - Overarching Identity - Building Block for All Else
Sun in Leo: Fixed Fire: Leo is naturally ruled by the Sun and is represented by the lion. Leos have a natural ability to light up a room as soon as they walk in - often finding themselves as the center of attention even without trying. There’s a charisma to Leo Suns that pulls people in - people want to talk to and listen to them. For introverted Leos this can be very draining, but for extroverted Leos this can be very fulfilling! They’re good at connecting names to faces and making everyone in the conversation feel important and heard. Many Leos end up in positions of leadership and authority, again, even without necessarily trying. The confidence Leos have in their words and actions puts people at ease and people naturally, easily trust them. Leo Suns carry a great sense of pride with them - they will do anything to protect that pride.
Sun in Leo’s ego is positively fueled by trusting their confidence. When others have faith in them to take lead, as well as when people allow them to let go of the reins and let others take lead in circumstances where they’re not as knowledgeable or confident. Leo’s natural confidence makes people think they can, and want to, be lead in all situations. Understanding the individual’s preferences for leadership and allowing them to step up or step down accordingly will help them build a positive ego base.
Sun in Leo’s ego is negatively fueled by either forcing/expecting them to take leadership in every situation or by never letting them step up into the lead - pushing them to the back, especially in their areas of expertise. If they’re always expected to step up in leadership, they can find it hard to ask to step back over fear of letting people down. They could also develop a sense of self-righteous superiority. If they’re always pushed back and not allowed to take the lead, they can become bitter and resentful of others.
Finding that balance of allowing Leos to take lead or step back is key to a happy, healthy Leo!
Moon: Emotions - How We Process Emotions - How We Express Emotions - How We React To Others’ Emotions - Our Sense of Stability/Security
Moon in Sagittarius: Mutable Fire: Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter and represented by the archer. Sagittarius in general is always seeking: seeking new adventures, freedom, opportunities, and more. Sag Moon in particular seeks the space to keep searching. That is, the freedom to explore without necessarily needing a final destination. They hold an optimism that something good, or better, is right around the next corner. This optimistic spirit can push them through even the toughest of life’s challenges. Sag Moons can be prone to taking risks which can be great in terms of innovation & creativity, they need to be careful to not accidentally leap further than is safe or bite off more than they can chew.
Emotionally, Moon in Sagittarius does not like strict routine or stagnation. Being able to move freely and explore new things keeps them happy - staying still for too long can cause them to feel agitated or frustrated. Places, people, and events that emotionally tie them to a fixed spot can become draining. This isn’t to say they aren’t loyal, they just require emotional freedoms to maintain a healthy energy balance. When given the proper space and freedom of movement, Sag Moons can be very down to earth and go with the flow. They believe in a live and let live mentality for the majority of life’s processes, and thrive in environments where everyone is allowed to do their own thing without too many restrictions or strict guidelines (beyond the necessary minimum to keep everyone safe).
Mercury: Communication - Gaining Knowledge - Thought Processes - Written/Verbal Expression of Ideas
Mercury in Virgo: Mutable Earth: Virgo is naturally ruled by Mercury and is very at home here!
Virgo is analytical, and when it comes to gathering - sharing information, Virgo Mercury makes sure to thoroughly collect, analyze, and consider things before making final decisions. It’s a good position for situations where the details need to be carefully considered - not as good a placement for situations where decisions need to be made quickly. Luckily, J’s Sagittarius Moon helps him make those quick decisions in situations where his Virgo Mercury doesn’t have the time, or detailed data, to make a thorough decision. Once their mind is made, Virgo Mercury is certain and dedicated to their conclusions. When it comes to important areas of their life, they know how they want things to be and can be very stubborn in their expectations. These expectations are given upfront, so there’s no guessing on where they stand. When presented with new information, Virgo Mercury’s analytical brain kicks in, picking the information apart piece by piece to see if their previous conclusions still hold, or if adjustments need to be made. Conversations that dissect broad topics of information down to specifics can be especially stimulating for them!
Venus: Love - Beauty - Aesthetics - Money (Earning & Spending)
Venus in Libra: Cardinal Air: Libra is naturally ruled by Venus - Represented by the scales of justice, it is very at home in the planet of interpersonal relationships. Libra Venus is driven by their personal sense of balance and harmony. In social groups, they want to make sure everyone’s thoughts, perspectives, and opinions are heard. They have a natural social charm and can make friends easily, even if they’re shy or not loudly outgoing. Very agreeable, conversation flows naturally with them - however if they don’t learn to place boundaries, people can manipulate people-pleasing tendencies from them and take advantage of their fair-minded ways. It’s important for Libra Venus to know when to turn the agreeable charm to set firm social boundaries with others. Libra Venus’ personal aesthetic is strong and develops from a young age. They have a natural eye for beauty as they see it - often seeing beauty in places many others wouldn’t think to look. Sense of style and art develops uniquely and naturally - they have a way of finding a signature to their style/art that can be easily recognized. Often opting for light colors & fabrics - even those with darker aesthetic choices will masterfully add splashes of color to highlight key features.
Mars: Action - Physicality - Assertiveness
Mars in Leo: Fixed Fire: Leo is ruled by the Sun and is represented by the lion. Fire signs give Mars the chance to really show its strengths! Leo Mars shines brightly, showing strength of character and devoted independence. This assertive placement helps give more passive placements the confidence to assert expectations and boundaries. They enjoy receiving attention from friends and can often be the jokesters/dramatics of their social groups. Outgoing Leo Mars may seek attention or spotlights. More reserved Leo Mars still make for excellent public speakers, actors, and spokespeople as even the quiet ones can speak loudly and firmly when need be. When they speak, people listen and are pulled in by a sense of authority - they make great salespeople and politicians being able to speak confidently on topics regardless of their depth of knowledge in the topic at hand. Positively developed, Leo Mars acts with confidence, knows how to take the lead of a situation, and can effectively assert expectations and boundaries for themselves and others. Negatively developed, Leo Mars can come off arrogant or selfish with a me-first attitude. It’s important that, while they may feel like the center of the universe, they are reminded to take others’ presence and needs into account as well. Inner Combinations: Leo Sun x Sagittarius Moon: This double fire combo results in people who are very bright, optimistic, and motivating. They’re the natural leader of their social circle - everyone looks up to them. They have a captivating charm and can easily inspire/motivate people. New challenges and opportunities are greeted with open arms, a steadfast determination, and a curious mind. Competitive, opportunistic, charismatic, charming, and trendsetter. A flame too bright to be dulled by the darkness of the world~
Virgo Mercury + Libra Venus + Leo Mars: J wants to be fair to everyone in a group - collecting all ideas, opinions, and perspectives, analyzing the information thoroughly, and reaching a conclusion that is the most practical and fairly balanced it can be for the situation before acting on those decisions. When he acts, he acts with confidence, and the results of those actions go straight to his ego, which emphasizes the importance of his decisions being as well considered as possible. In difficult scenarios, he may avoid making/acting on decisions, but the fire in his Mars and Moon placements help push him to act even when he can’t be as certain in his decisions as he’d like to be.
Outer Planets - Large Group Planets
Jupiter: Travel - Education - Authoritative Structures - Understandings of “Freedom” - Personal  Growth & Development
Jupiter will present in 1or 2 signs in a year.
Jupiter in Libra: Cardinal Air: Libra is naturally ruled by Venus - Represented by the scales of justice, Libra in Jupiter places emphasis on interpersonal relationships. Making connections may be easy for them - they may feel lucky in terms of the people in their life and the opportunities they have to meet people. However, it’s important for them to not take this for granted. They have to learn how to maintain those connections after they’re formed. People won’t just hang around forever on the basis of mutually liking one another. Relationships must be nurtured and maintained, and Libra Jupiter highlights this. They may be naturally gifted at maintaining long-term relations, or they may find themselves making a lot of quick, superficial connections with good potential that fade just as quickly when efforts to maintain and grow them are not put in. Libra Jupiter also draws emphasis on maintaining harmony in social groups. They may have had to moderate social disagreements among peers and/or with authority figures in their youth. When studying and traveling, they pick up on lessons around interpersonal balance and making decisions that work to best benefit the group as well as the individual. Libra Jupiter is constantly searching for ways to maintain social harmony and make it easier for people to get along.
Saturn: Responsibility - Discipline - Karma Saturn will stay in a sign for about 2.5 years - Taking about 29-30 years to go through all 12 signs.
Saturn in Taurus: Fixed Earth: Ruled by Venus and represented by the bull. Taurus is sturdy, grounded, stead-fast, and finds comfort in the tangible. Saturn rules time and life-lessons. Approximately every 28-30 years, Saturn will return to the sign it was in when you were born, and your Saturn return period emphasizes the life-lessons that Saturn is trying to teach you. With Taurus emphasizing Venus’ association with material things, Saturn in Taurus’ major lesson has to do with their understanding of the value of the material - both tangible and intangible. Tangible things are easier to grasp, but the intangible can be difficult. For example, when shopping, it’s easier to keep track of what you’re spending if you pay for everything in cash, whereas if you pay for everything with a credit card it can be easier to lose track of your spending and not have a good sense of how much you’ve spent until you look at the card statement later. This concept extends out to various areas of life for the Saturn in Taurus lesson. When accepted and learned, this lesson makes these people very reliable and responsible in matters that involve the material - balancing the books, tracking spending and making budgets, assisting others with financial issues, organizing spaces, arranging displays to be aesthetically pleasing, assisting others with organization and arrangements, etc.
When looking at longer-term placements, relating back to the inner planets helps give more depth. Taurus is ruled by Venus, and J’s Venus is in Libra. His Saturn lesson pulls on themes of interpersonal relations and his relationship with tangible values in such. For example, he may be very good at finding gifts for people that match their wants and needs. However, gift giving could develop from a love language into a crutch for smoothing over bumps in personal relationships. It’s important to remember that conversations from the heart still need to occur and gifts can’t replace a genuine listening ear. Also, he may associate people in his life with tangible things, which is all well and good and plays into the idea of gift giving as a love language, but he needs to be careful not to assign monetary value to others or his relationships with them. There is value in the intangible as well.
Uranus: Rebellion - Liberation - Innovation - Upheavals
Uranus stays in one sign for about 7 years.
Uranus in Libra: Cardinal Air: Ruled by Venus and represented by Justice, Libra seeks balance and harmony in all things. Rebellion and innovation show through in reforms to social and structural ideas and systems of justice. What is fair or unfair, what is balanced, and what can be done to have a more harmonious balance of society. Keep in mind, with the duality of nature and nurture, the exact definitions and ideas of what is fair, harmonious, and justice will vary based on influences people are raised with.
“The last time Uranus was in Libra was from October 1968 until September 1975 stimulating changes in social justice, diplomacy, music, and the arts.” (https://www.san.beck.org › Astro-Uranus)
One of the big social showings of this time was the hippie movement - make love not war - challenging the priority of war over interpersonal relationships.
Since this is a larger group planet, for the individual it is important to relate back into the chart. Since Libra is ruled by Venus, looking into J’s Venus placement is where his personal expression of this placement comes through. With his Venus being in Libra, he seeks balance, justice, and harmony through, you guessed it, harmony in interpersonal relationships. At this point of the chart, everything really pulls together and repetition really shows the highlighted aspects of a person, huh. J knows that music and performing arts can pull people together in positive ways that can spark major social changes. He utilizes this and it’s definitely a driving force for him. This placement also points to a push for reforms and changes within the music industry to give more fair and balanced opportunities to more artists to be able to do the same.
Neptune: Dreams - Magic - The Subconscious
Neptune stays in one sign for 14 years.
Neptune in Scorpio: Fixed Water: Ruled by Pluto & Mars and represented by the scorpion - Scorpio energy is bold, determined, and in tune with things hidden and unseen. In the planet of dreams and the subconscious, Scorpio’s abilities to read between the lines and see hidden intent/meaning behind pretenses is heightened. There’s a natural draw to the occult and taboo which can be fascinating to these people should they choose to embrace it - or a source of stress and anxiety should they resist. Scorpio is ruled by both Pluto & Mars - J’s Pluto in Virgo and Mars in Leo pull through by allowing him to look at occult topics in an analytical way - how can these themes be used practically (virgo) in a way that can heighten confidence in self (leo). He may disregard his personal beliefs and pull in imagery, practices, and lessons from various religions/spiritual/cultural practices if he can find a good use for them in his personal life and/or his music - it’s less about the actual belief in something supernatural or otherworldly and more about the messages behind the belief and how they can be utilized to get a certain message across
Pluto: Things That Are Hidden - The Shadow - The Taboo - Long-Term Transformation
Pluto stays in a sign anywhere from 12-30 years depending on the speed it is moving. This is the generational planet.
Pluto in Virgo: Mutable Earth: Ruled by Mercury and represented by the virgin, Virgo is detail oriented, health conscious, and pragmatic. Pluto has to do with transformation, and Virgo Pluto transforms by analysing the details of life - what works and what doesn’t - what needs to be changed and how that change can take place in a practical way. Relating back into J’s chart, Virgo is ruled by Mercury, therefore J’s Virgo Mercury comes into play. He finds transformation through analysing various topics beyond face value. Taking things as they are and diving into their different components - finding the base that these topics are built on and using that base concept in ways that fit what he needs in the moment / using these concepts to adapt long-term patterns to better long-term outcomes. If something can be effectively utilized as it is for the betterment of the individual and the collective, then there is no need to change it. If it cannot effectively be used in this way, what changes are needed to make it more practical and how can those changes be carried out.

Some J Quotes That I Feel Show His Chart Well All quotes come from an interview from jame-world.com 2007
“Your album URGE is very good. The first song is a short instrumental song; why did you decide to create such a track?”
J: When I made this album, the title was determined first. As URGE means “impulse” or “drive”, I wanted to express a feeling of uneasiness before we started and things to come.
“The beginning is very soft and quiet.”
J: When we face something new, we have both hope and anxiety. I think that this is reflected in the song as there are many major keys and minor keys. When I had spare time during recording, I worked on it on my guitar. -- “My first love in music is rock; it makes me feel as though I was just born and full of energy as if “anything is possible”. It really makes you feel free. That's why I create music even today.”
Sagittarius Moon
------------------- “good night is a very beautiful song. In the lyrics, you say “a star is shining”. Who or what is that star?”
J: The star is not limited to one person. It simply means “the person who is the most important to you”. For example, it could be a member of your family, a friend, or a lover. When you listen to my words, I hope you can imagine that person. Though in addition to people who you think are important, it could also be your dreams or hopes.
Libra Venus + Libra Jupiter

“Do you have anything that you can't say in Japan? Have you ever been censored?”
J: Well, not really. However, if I really want to say something, I don't care if someone thinks my words are alright or not, because those're my true feelings. With that said, one thing that I really care about is not hurting others with my words, either those that I say or those that I write.”
Sag Moon + Virgo Mercury + Libra Venus
--------------------
“I'll ask about religion. You often use imagery involving the Virgin Mary and the Cross. Why?”
J: As you know, in Japan there are many Buddhists. I often use the Virgin Mary not because of my religion, but because I'm interested in the culture surrounding it. We can't believe in anything without using both our mind and our heart, I think. For example, to talk about things aside from God, I can believe in people, my friends, and even myself. With this meaning, it might present the furthest reach of human feelings. I think God doesn't need to be like that figure... is what I'm saying too serious? (laughs) I don't mean in regards to a certain religion, but I think belief itself is wonderful because I wasn't a very good guy and hadn't believed in anything but music.
