So I've been working on this thing...an outline that rewrites all of S3 and S4 to have Caswen as the main romance as well as fixing some of my other issues with the series' plot. It is still in the rough stages needing some refinement, but I figured I should share it here too in case people are interested. And I put in the work anyway so...might as well spread the word.

I also made a playlist of all the songs mentioned in the document so that they're all bundled together for easy listening. There's a link in the document, but I'll put it here too for good measure.

If anyone wants to use any ideas from here, since I am probably months at least away from being able to spin this into a full fanfiction, please let me know. A. Because the James Somerton scandal is fresh in my mind, and B. Because if you're writing or drawing or doing anything Caswen, I'll probably want to consume it anyway.

Coffee Shop Boy Teaser

Summary: You’re the barista at a coffee shop and you always screw up Joshua’s name on purpose. (Also listen to ‘Falling in Love at a Coffee Shop’ by Landon Pigg while reading).

Warnings: Fluff, Coffee Shop AU.

Word Count: 305

“What can I get for yo- oh hi!” You cut yourself off as you recognized the customer standing in front of the counter. “I take it you want the usual?” Already reaching behind you for a to-go cup. He nodded and you set about making his order.

There were certain benefits to this part time job and maybe a lot of your favourite aspects of this job had less to do with the job itself and more to do with the boy with the curly brown hair and warm brown eyes who was currently standing in front of you. And maybe you took on those extra shifts to see your favourite regular and maybe you always screwed up his name on purpose in a desperate attempt to make an impression. Just maybe.

You scrawled a slightly incorrect spelling of his name onto the side of the cup as you finished up his order before handing it to him. He pulled out his wallet to pay, “I think ‘Joshuah’ is the most interesting way you’ve misspelt my name so far. Almost makes me think you’re doing it on purpose…” Your face heated up as you took the money from him, putting it away in the cash register, “That’s quite the conspiracy theory, but if it bothers you so much, how about you write down your name and number for me?”

He chuckled, “Was this all an elaborate way of getting my number?” You just shrugged and he let out another laugh as he reached for a napkin, scribbling something down on it and reaching over the counter, tucking into the front pocket of your apron. 

He picked up his drink and stepped away from the counter and towards the door, making a ‘call me’ motion with his hand as he stepped out of the coffee shop.

She had captured his attention from the moment she waltzed through the door, that bright smile and flushed cheeks were enough to have him weak at the knees. It wasn’t like he’d even planned at being at the party tonight, but after a few words of encouragement and Olivia’s nonstop bugging, he caved somewhere in between. Now watching as she made her over to where he stood, he couldn’t help but feel a wave of thankfulness wash through him.

“There you are I have someone I want you to meet,” Olivia mumbled as his eyes briefly caught hers as she sent him a soft smile. 

It was hard, Joshua couldn’t help as his eyes scanned the crowd for her. Once he found her, he couldn’t help the slight frown that formed, he watched as she was pulled into a tight hug by a guy he shared a few classes with, and the swift kiss didn’t go on notice either. Chewing on his bottom lip, he jumped slightly at the feeling of a hand resting on his arm. 

“You okay?”

He nodded his head as he pulled at the collar of his shirt. Olivia watched from the corner of her eye as her friend tried her absolute hardest to flirt with Josh but always coming up short. She also didn’t fail to notice the way he was looking at y/n.

“I’m gonna go get a drink.”

Rushing off quickly he failed to see the girl he had been eyeing in front of him. It all happened so suddenly, one moment she was gripping two cups in her hands and the next they were discarded on the floor, and his hands were tightly gripping her waist.

“Shit, I'm sorry.” She giggled softly looking over at him with a bright smile. His cheeks flushed as he shook his head.

“It' fine, my fault really.” He chuckled softly looking at the drinks on the floor. “Mind if I get you a drink?”

“I’d like that.”

Giving her a softly smile, he leads her to the makeshift bar. Ideally, underage drinking wasn’t something to be concerned with, and tonight the last thing on his mind was being caught. Asking for two drinks, he leaned back again the bar as their eyes met.

“You’re fins with Livy right?”

“You know Olivia?”

She nodded her head taken a good look at his green cup as she looked back at the kid working the bar. She signaled to the green solo cup as he nodded his head dropping her drink in before handing it over.

“Ah single I see..” he stated with a soft smile as she shrugged her shoulders looking back him with a playful smirk.

“I thought you were taken.” She hummed out causing his eyes to widen. “Not that I’ve been stalking you or anything.” She rushed out as he let out a soft smile.

“Why’d you think that?”

“Don’t know really, I don’t see you as a fling type of guy. Also just thought you were with someone.” She shrugged as he nodded his head. “Thought you were dating Livy.” She clarified as his eyes widen.

“No, not at all, she’s actually dating my best friend.”

It was silent between the two of them for a few moments. God, it was so awkward and he was trying so hard not to make a full out of himself. This incredibly attractive girl was standing there beside him holding a green cup, was making his insides mushy.

“I bet guys are all over you”

She looked up at him with a glint in her eyes that had him squirming. Her lips rested on the rim of the cup.

“I guess.” she breathed out looking out into the crowd before speaking. “The one guy I want isn’t.”

His heart stopped at the teasing tone causing his eyes to widen. Was it him? Was he the guy she wanted.

“Well he’s missing out, can’t say I’m mad though.”

“Are you flirting with me?” She breathed out as he shrugged his shoulders causing her to smile. Resting a hand on his shoulder she gave him a soft kiss on the cheek. 

“Why don’t we get out of here and go somewhere quieter?” He whispers against her cheek as she bites her bottom lip nodding her head.

ok so i watched way too many tiktoks about this considering i couldn’t even finish one episode of hsmtmts (or whatever) because i found it so bad lmao but:

basically you have a love triangle ish:

so there’s three main people: olivia? rodrigo, joshua basett and sabrina carpenter

olivia is the young girl who i think is 16 or something, she and joshua starred in that disney + show and apparently had like a ✨thing✨(flirted lmao) but she was dating some other guy and he was 19? i think? this started a while back? maybe he was already 20 idk so he wrote this song and said it was about this girl he really liked but couldn’t date for ~reasons~ so everyone was like omg this song is about her

she and unnamed boyfriend (he has a name but he’s not important enough for me to know it lmao) broke up, and joshua taught her to drive because she was a child who didn’t know i how to drive i guess, and apparently, she thinks this mean he’s waiting for her to be 18 so they can date, then his song’s video comes out, and sabrina carpenter is allegedly the girl in the video (also you see like the border of the car’s window and it’s a white car) because of her nails? i think that’s why people were like omg it’s sabrina, she and her ex also broke up and she and joshua were like close so people were like 👀

anyways there’s a bunch of people being like omg he’s dating sabrina carpenter because they have tiktoks together and ✨stuff✨

and now olivia drop a song, driver’s licence, which has lyrics about him moving on with ~that blonde girl who is older than her and made her insecure~ and about how before when they had a thing he said he was excited for her to drive to his place (he taught her how to drive) and how she thinks about him when she sees white cars (remember the car in his video was white) something about him not meaning the song he wrote about her and some other lowkey creepy stuff about her driving around his place lmao (also that bit that’s like my friends will never know about missing someone the way i do like lmao gurl why you dissing your friends for)

and then all the castmates from the really long tv show title shared stories about her new song and she shared them all on her ig stories, except for the one he posted. and then remember how sabrina also broke up with a guy previous to the supposed relationship with joshua bennett? well her ex also shared a ig story with olivia’s song.

bonus: someone posted a tiktok saying like everyone thinking about joshua when listening to the song but no one thinking about her actual ex and the ex commented the tiktok like nah it’s not about me i treated her right? even though the song never talks about him tresting her badly? it does say something about how they weren’t a good couple and how she doesn’t like his new girlfriend but that’s it the rest is just about her not moving on lmaoo

and yeah basically i got like she thought he was waiting for her to be 18 (creepy) but either he was never actually waiting for her (could be: she misread the situation and he wasn’t interested, or he was interested but like he said he knew they couldn’t be together so he just moved on) or he was waiting for her, met another girl and fell for her, moving on from olivia.

whichever is the actual situation (especially if people are reading too much into stuff and it isn’t even about him/ is a pr thing to get ppl talking) i don’t think it’s valid to cancel a guy (or anyone) for not wanting to have a relationship with someone lmao
