Según relató su primer productor, Gonzalo Ferreyra, en 2018 estuvo en la búsqueda de nuevos artistas y al ir a una fiesta llamada Boom Trap Party, quedó fascinado con su voz y su estilo. Esa noche le escribió al Instagram diciéndole que le encantaría producirla. ​ En aquel entonces, Nicki cantaba a dúo con Jonavi, así que Ferreyra les grabó las canciones «No puede seguir» y «Ahora quiere volver». Posteriormente la cantante optó por una carrera musical como solista y el dúo se disolvió. En abril del 2019 saco su primer tema como solista llamado  « Wapo Traketero » la canción que le abriría varias puertas, como también la BZRP Music session  #13.

I love the way Mavis carries Johnny around sometimes. There is no awkwardness involved and both naturally accept the other’s exciting aspects.

I’m glad Johnny got focus in the fourth movie. He was the domino that set off all the events and changes in that universe so it is great to see it all come full circle.

Johnny x Mavis ship is so underrated ahh

I love them so much but they are not really popular, even tho the first movie was ALL about them and zing. They have a child and all but in the second and third movie we don't have much scenes with the two of them. Or them and their child. I would love to see some family scenes with the three of them. But not like only 2 second scenes...

Like I never actually saw the first Hotel Transylvania movie in full (scandalous, I know!) BUT the Johnny x Mavis clips I DID see and their interactions in the 2nd movie were plenty enough to sell me on them. I mean I’m always a sucker for a forbidden human x vampire romance, but this one is just so...delightfully unconventional??? And kind of memey and dumb but in the best possible way??? Like there’s something so deeply hilarious to me about this laid-back California surfer dude going backpacking in Transylvania and falling in love with a LITERAL VAMPIRE--but like not just any vampire, but a highkey really bubbly and adorable one??? It’s so incredibly wack and absurd and I LOVE it. And they’re just cute as hell too, like that scene in the 2nd movie where Mavis is shredding at the skate park and Johnny’s like “YEAH!!! THAT’S MY GIRLFRIEND!!!” and Mavis has to remind him they’re married??? What a goddamn himbo, I love him so much.

Man I would DIE to see them get a fluffy short or something. Or just like...more fan content in general. I wish Mavis didn’t only get included in the crossover fandom when she’s being shipped with someone from another movie or like the Once-ler or something, like...she’s fuckin great, Johnny’s fuckin great, and honestly good on Hotel Transylvania for being like “nah fuck that ‘vampires are always broody and angsty’ shit, our vampire’s a goddamn genki girl and her love interest is a surfer bro and there’s nothing you can do about it.” Like if this isn’t the WEIRDEST possible take on the vampirexhuman pairing I’ve even seen in my life and you know what??? IT FUCKING WORKS. SOMEHOW. IT’S FANTASTIC.
